For the convenience of pilgrims attending the Velankanni festival, South-Western Railway is running a special express between Vasco da Gama–Velankanni–Vasco da- Gama for two services in each direction.

Train number 07315 Vasco da Gama—Velankanni express will depart from Vasco da Gama station at 2 pm on August 28 and September 1 and arrive at Velankanni at 7.15 pm, the day after each departure.

En route, the express will arrive and depart Madgaon at 3 pm and 3.02 pm respectively; Hubli Junction at 7.40 pm and 7.50 pm; Tumkur at 3.20 am and 3.25 am; Yeshwanthpur at 5.10 am and 5.25 am and finally at Jolarpettai Cabin A at 8.45 am.

In the direction of return, train number 07316 Velankanni–Vasco da Gama express will depart from Velankanni at 11.45 pm on August 29 and September 2 and arrive at Vasco da Gama at 5.30 am the next day.

En route, the express will depart at Jolarpettai Cabin A at 8.25 am and will arrive and depart at Yeshwanthpur Junction at 1 pm and 1.25 pm; Tumkur at 2.40 pm and 3.10 pm; Hubli Junction at 10.20 pm and 10.40 pm; and at Madgaon at 4.58 am and 5 am respectively.

The special express will have total of 17 coaches, comprising of one AC three-tier coach, six second class sleeper coaches, eight general second class coaches and two second class luggage-cum-brake vans.

Fire in a goods train at Kadambathur railway gate near Arakkonam delayed express and electric trains to and from Chennai by more than three hours, on Thursday.The goods train from Ennore near Chennai to Mettur thermal power plant was carrying coal. Near Kadambathur railway gate around 7 am, the guard noticed thick smoke coming from one of the coaches. He immediately alerted the engine driver after which the train was stopped.Soon, flames were seen and fire service and rescue personnel from Perambakkam were pressed into action. Sources said the firemen found it difficult to extinguish the flames due to high voltage power passing through the electric wire over the train. Steps were taken to suspend the power supply in the area. Chennai-bound trains including the Chennai-Trivandrum Express and Dehradun Express, and electric trains between Arakkonam and Chennai and trains from Chennai including the Chennai-Brindhavan Express and Chennai- Bangalore AC Double Decker and a few electric trains to Arakkonam were stopped on their respective routes.The flames were doused after two hours. The cause of the fire was not ascertained. Railway workers on the spot said the mishap might have occurred due to overloading and the resulting friction. The train was again operated around 10 am.

Meanwhile, motorists and pedestrians at the railway gates on both sides of the station were affected as the gates were closed.

SCR to Run 8 Special Trains between Kacheguda and Mangalore

In order to clear extra rush of passengers, South Central Railway will run 8 Special Trains between Kacheguda and Mangalore as per the following schedule:-

Train No.07606 Kacheguda-Mangalore Special Train will depart Kacheguda at  06 00 hrs o­n Tuesdays ie., on 3rd, 10th, 17thand 24th September, 2013  and arrive  Mangalore at 11 20 hrs o­n the next day.

In the return direction, Train No. 07605 Mangalore-Kachiguda Special Train will depart Mangalore at 20 00 hrs on Wednesday ie., o­n 4th, 11th, 18th and 25thSeptember, 2013 and arrive Kacheguda at 03 40 hrs o­n Fridays.

Enroute, these special trains will stop at Jadcherla, Mahbubnagar, Gadwal, Kurnool City, Dhone, Gooty, Yerraguntla, Cuddapah, Rajampeta, Renigunta, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Coimbatore, Palakkad, Shoranur, Tirur, Kozhikode, Vadakara, Thalassery, Kannur, Payyanur, Kanhangad and Kasaragod Stations in both directions. These special trains will consist of 18 Coaches viz., o­ne AC II Tier, two AC III Tier, seven Sleeper Class, six General Second Class and two Luggage Cum Brake Van Coaches.

Realty firm Parsvnath Developers today said it has paid Rs 500.86 crore instalment to the Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) against the 38 acres of rail land that it had bought for Rs 1,651 crore.Parsvnath had bought this land, located at Sarai Rohilla- Kishanganj in the national capital, from RLDA in 2010 through an auction."The company has so far made payments of three instalments together with interest aggregating to Rs 1,161.46 crore," Parsvnath Group Chairman Pradeep Jain said in a statement.In May this year, a development agreement was executed between RLDA and Parsvnath Rail Land Project, a special purpose vehicle (SPV) incorporated for implementing this project.The company will develop luxury apartments, commercial/ shopping areas, railway housing, railway service building & common facilities, Hospital/School and other amenities.Parsvnath has appointed Callison LLC of USA as architect for the project in co-ordination with architect Sikka & Associates.

The company will develop this project in partnership with private equity firm Red Fort Capital.

Parsvnath is currently working on 49 projects with a total area of 76 million sq ft.

The company's business portfolio includes residential, Commercial (Office and Retail), DMRC Projects, Hotels, SEZs, IT Parks.

Parsvnath's shares were quoting 1.26% higher at Rs 32.20 apiece on the BSE in the afternoon trade.

कोसी क्षेत्र का मुख्य द्वार माने जाने वाले मानसी जंक्शन पर अवस्थित रेल अस्पताल 58 वर्षो से दो बेडों का ही है। रेलवे ने कभी इसके विकास के बारे में नहीं सोचा। मानसी से पूरब 116 किमी पर कटिहार में व 64 किमी पश्चिम गढ़हरा में रेलवे का अस्पताल है। इस बीच 1955 में यहां दो बेड का अस्पताल खोला गया था ताकि सहरसा लाइन के यात्रियों को जरूरत पड़ने पर चिकित्सा सुविधा दी जा सके। उस समय एक डॉक्टर व चार कर्मियों के पद स्वीकृत किए गए थे, आज भी वही स्थिति है। यहां मलहम-पट्टी तक की व्यवस्था नहीं है। इसका काम महज गढ़हारा रेफर करना रह गया है। रेल यात्रियों को यात्रा के दौरान पेट या सिर में अधिक दर्द या बुखार आ जाए तो तैनात नर्स से कुछ दवाएं मिल सकती हैं। डॉक्टर कब आते और कब जाते हैं, इसे देखने वाला कोई नहीं है। जब आते हैं तो हाजिर बना लेते हैं। वैसे रजिस्टर में दर्ज उपस्थिति के अनुसार 19 अगस्त को धमारा घाट स्टेशन पर रेल हादसे के बाद वे वहां पहुंच गए थे। लोगों का कहना है कि मानसी रेलवे अस्पताल से 12 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर धमारा में घटना के बाद कई लोग उपचार के अभाव में तड़प-तड़प कर मर गए। अस्पताल में जांच व ऑपरेशन की सुविधा होती तो हादसे में जख्मी लोगों को 20 किमी दूर सदर अस्पताल खगड़िया भेजने की नौबत नहीं आती। एएनएम सीमा कुमारी ने बताया कि यहां सिर्फ दो ही बेड हैं। सिर्फ घायलों का प्राथमिक उपचार यहां किया जाता है। आउटसोर्सिग की कोई सुविधा नहीं है। इस अस्पताल में पहले परिवार नियोजन का ऑपरेशन होता था लेकिन कई वर्षो से वह भी बंद हो गया। मरीजों के बेड भी क्षतिग्रस्त हो चुके हैं। वहीं डॉ. विकास कुमार ने मोबाइल पर बताया कि अस्पताल में रात्रि में इलाज की कोई सुविधा नहीं है। सिर्फ इमरजेंसी की सुविधा होती है। नाइट गार्ड भी नहीं है। वैसे उन्होंने दावा किया कि दवा पर्याप्त मात्रा में उपलब्ध है। अस्पताल में दूरभाष तक नहीं है। स्थानीय जदयू नेता बलवीर चांद कहते हैं कि अस्पताल सिर्फ आरामगाह बनकर रह गया है। डॉक्टर कभी अस्पताल आते हैं, कभी नहीं। मरीज अस्पताल से लौटकर चला जाता है।

वहीं डॉ. विकास कुमार कहते हैं कि उनके ऊपर लगे आरोप बेबुनियाद हैं। जांच में मामला साफ हो जाएगा।

15097 अप भागलपुर-जम्मूतवी अमरनाथ एक्सप्रेस (साप्ताहिक) का परिचालन गुरुवार से शुरू हो जाएगा। भागलपुर के लोगों के लिए यह ट्रेन वाया लखनऊ होते हुए माता वैष्णो देवी के लिए सीधी ट्रेन सेवा होगी। गुरुवार शाम 8.30 बजे भाजपा सांसद सैयद शाहनवाज हुसैन ट्रेन को हरी झंडी दिखाकर रवाना करेंगे। इसके लिए रेलवे ने भागलपुर सहित आसपास के जिले के सांसद, विधायक, विधान पार्षद के अलावा गणमान्य लोगों को आमंत्रित किया है। डीआरएम सहित मालदा रेल मंडल के वरीय अधिकारी भी उद्घाटन मौके पर उपस्थित रहेंगे। अमरनाथ एक्सप्रेस के लिए आरक्षण की सुविधा बुधवार से बहाल कर दी गई है। फिलहाल कंफर्म टिकट के लिए लोगों को अभी इंतजार करना पड़ेगा, वेटिंग टिकट यात्रियों के लिए उपलब्ध है। बरौनी स्टेशन तक पर्याप्त संख्या में कंफर्म टिकट उपलब्ध है।
जम्मूतवी-बरौनी अमरनाथ एक्सप्रेस को बरौनी में यात्रियों को उतारने के बाद गुरुवार को बिना कहीं रोके भागलपुर स्टेशन सुबह 10 बजे लाया जाएगा। इसके उसे दो नंबर कैम्टेक पर लाकर सफाई व फूल-मालाओं से सजाया जाएगा। शाम सात बजे के करीब उसे प्लेटफॉर्म पर लाया जाएगा। शाम 8.30 बजे विशेष ट्रेन के रूप में अमरनाथ एक्सप्रेस को सांसद द्वारा हरी झंडी दिखाकर रवाना किया जाएगा। इस ट्रेन की नियमित सेवा जम्मूतवी से 27 अगस्त व भागलपुर से 29 अगस्त से प्रारंभ हो जाएगी। यह ट्रेन प्रत्येक गुरुवार को रात 11 बजकर 50 मिनट पर भागलपुर से जम्मूतवी के लिए रवाना होगी। जम्मूतवी से उक्त ट्रेन मंगलवार रात 10 बजकर 45 मिनट पर चलकर गुरुवार सुबह 10 बजे भागलपुर पहुंचेगी। मालूम हो कि सांसद शाहनवाज हुसैन के आग्रहपर रेलवे बोर्ड ने बरौनी-भागलपुर अमरनाथ एक्सप्रेस का विस्तार भागलपुर तक किया। भागलपुर से सोनपुर, लखनऊ, जालंघर, लुधियाना, जम्मू के सीधी ट्रेन नहीं थी। सांसद ने उक्त ट्रेन की मांग रेलमंत्री पवन बंसल से की थी और उनकी मांगों रेल बजट में पूरा किया गया था।

मुजफ्फरपुर-नरकटियागंज रेलखंड के बापूधाम मोतिहारी स्टेशन गुरुवार की शाम जलने से बच गई। जानकारी के मुताबिक शाम 6.20 के आसपास मोतिहारी स्टेशन के ऊपर से गुजरी हाईटेंशन केबुल में शार्ट सर्किट से अचानक आग लग गई और केबुल धू-धूकर जलने लगा। आग लगने की जानकारी लगते ही स्टेशन पर अफरातफरी मच गई। स्टेशन के यात्री डर के मारे इधर-उधर भागने लगे। इस दौरान कई महिला यात्री मामूली रूप से चोटिल भी हो गये। केबुल में आग लगने की जानकारी मिलते ही रेल प्रबंधन ने फौरन लाइन काटने का निर्देश दिया। लाइन कटने के बाद भी आग बेकाबू हो रहा था। हालांकि स्थानीय दुकानदारों ने आग पर बालू पानी फेंककर काबू पाया। लाइन कटने के बाद बापूधाम मोतिहारी स्टेशन पर पूरी तरह अंधेरा कायम है। इधर स्टेशन अधीक्षक नरेन्द्र प्रसाद बताया कि रेल विद्युत विभाग के जेई राजेश कुमार को अविलंब स्टेशन रोशनी की व्यवस्था बहाल करने का निर्देश दे दिया गया है। समाचार लिखे जाने तक पूरे स्टेशन परिसर में अंधेरा पसरा था।

The pilot project of deployment of doctors in Duronto trains has not been found to be very useful for passengers due to technical constraints faced by medics deployed on trains, Lok Sabha was told on Thursday.

“In view of this it has been decided to discontinue deployment of doctors and para-medical staff in Duronto trains having a run of less than six hours,” Minister of State for Railways Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said in a written answer.

However, it has been decided by railways to deploy a para-medic trained in Emergency Medical Response with all essential life saving medicines and equipment in place of a doctor in Duronto trains having a run of more than six hours.

All long distance passenger carrying trains are provided with First Aid Boxes containing essential drugs and dressing materials. In addition, augmented First Aid Boxes with wide range of medicines and disposable medical material have been provided with the train superintendents of Rajdhani and Shatabdi Express trains and guards of other nominated trains.

The frontline staff deployed on trains is trained in rendering First Aid. Services of doctors travelling as passengers are utilised to attend to passengers who are in need of urgent medical assistance.

Trains can also make unscheduled halts, if necessary, at the stations en-route in emergencies. The Station Masters have details of doctors, clinics and hospitals both government and private, in the vicinity of the station, so that their services could also be availed in emergencies.

ALLAHABAD: The railway administration had decided to fix quota in the selection of Jan Sadharan Ticket Booking Sewak (JTBS) operators. Under the scheme, the selected persons are empowered to issue general tickets to the passengers at major locations in the city. Director (passenger marketing), Railway Board, Monica Agnihotri had written letters to all the chief commercial managers of the zonal railways in this regard. There would be 49.5% reservation of the total number of JTBSs on the divisional basis. Of this, 12% has been reserved for people belonging to Scheduled Caste, 8% for Scheduled Tribes, 20% for persons belonging to other backward classes (OBCs) while 9.5% has been reserved for person belonging to the minorities communities. The minorities would include Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists and Zoroastrians (Parsis).

Apart from this, 10% reservation for the disabled persons would be applicable in the general category also.

The JTBS operators are allowed to issue season tickets. Each season ticket is to be treated as a single ticket/single passenger for the purpose of levy of service charge. Service charges to be realized by JTBS is Re 1 per passenger. Bank guarantee had been reduced to Rs 20,000 from Rs 40,000 and security deposit has been reduced to Rs 5,000 from existing Rs 15,000. JTBS operators are also permitted to operate one additional counter provided the sale of tickets is more than 800 per day on each counter for a period of one month. They may be allowed to shift from the original location to a new location at own cost with a view to increase sale of tickets.

The tenure of contract is enhanced to three years, renewable by a tenure of three years, subject to satisfactory performance. and the operators abide by terms and conditions prevailing at the time of renewal.

The railway ministry had introduced this scheme in 2008 with a view to appoint JSTB Sewaks in various parts of cities for issue of unreserved tickets through Computerized Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS).
