भारतीय रेल छोटी लाइन  (मीटर गेज) को हटाकर बड़ी लाइन (ब्रॉड गेज) में तेजी से बदल रहा है जिसका मतलब है की इन छोटी लाइन्स पर चलने वाली भारतीय रेलवे के इतिहास की झलक दिखाने वाली रेल गाड़ियां भी बंद होती जा रही हैं |कुछ इसी प्रकार 130 साल पुरानी सीतापुर-मैलानी छोटी लाइन 15 अक्टूबर के बाद बंद कर दी जाएगी और इस रूट को मेगा ब्लॉक करके इसे बड़ी लाइन में बदल दिया जाएगा| 15 अक्टूबर को इसपे छोटी लाइन की आखिरी ट्रेन चलेगी|इस जानकारी को यात्रयों का पहुंचाने के लिए चारों तरफ सूचना लगा दी गयी है |

भारतीय रेलवे की पहली हमसफ़र रेल गोरखपुर से आनंद विहार टर्मिनल के बीच चलेगी| इस ट्रेन का का बेसब्री से इंतज़ार कर रहे लोगों का इंतज़ार समाप्ति के करीब है क्योंकि 30 सितम्बर तक इस ट्रेन के कोच गोरखपुर जंक्शन पर पहुँच जाएंगे|पूर्वोत्तर रेलवे के मैकेनिकल तथा इलेक्ट्रिकल विभाग के कर्मचारियों को पहले ही कपूरथला कोच फैक्ट्री में भेजा जा चुका था और 30 तारीख तक वे हमसफ़र डिब्बों के साथ गोरखपुर पहुँच जाएंगे|गोरखपुर से आनंद विहार चलने वाली इस ट्रेन में तृतीय श्रेणी के एसी कोच लगेंगे जिनकी सीट बुकिंग 3 से 4 दिन में शुरू हो जानी चाहिए|सप्ताह में तीन दिन चलने वाली ये रेल गाड़ी 12595 बनकर प्रत्येक रविवार, मंगलवार, और गुरूवार को गोरखपुर से रात ८ बजे रवाना होगी और अनाद विहार से चलकर गोरखपुर आने वाली 12596 गाड़ी सोमवार, बुधवार और शुक्रवार को रात आठ बजे ही रवाना की जाएगी|

रेल गाड़ियों में पहले की बजाय यात्रयों की भीड़ अपेक्षाकृत बहुत ज्यादा हो चुकी है जिस कारण यात्री लेते भले ही सामान्य श्रेणी का टिकेट लेते हैं, पर बैठते आरक्षित कोच में हैं| ये देखते हुए रेलवे ने सभी से स्लीपर में बैठने का किराया वसूलकर सभी यात्रयों को स्लीपर कोच में जाके बैठने की छूट दे दी है| रायगढ़, कोरबा, चम्पा, शहडोल, रायपुर, अनूपपुर, गोंदिया, रायपुर दुर्ग और भाटापारा किए साथ साथ भिलाई पावर हाउस, तिल्दा भंडरा रोड, पेंड्रारोड राजनांदगाँव के लिए भी टिकेट जारी करना रेलवे ने पिछले वर्ष ही शुरू कर दिए थे |हालांकि ये टिकेट सुबह 10 बजे से शाम 6 बजे तक की यात्रा के लिए जारी किये जाते हैं पर पहले से ही आरक्षित सीटों के यात्रियों का कहना है की पहले टिकेट निरीक्षक उन लोगों से स्लीपर कोच का पैसा वसूलते थे जो सामान्य का टिकेट लेकर स्लीपर में यात्रा करें जिस कारणवश बहुत से लोग इस डर से स्लीपर में नहीं चढ़ते थे पर अब स्लीपर भी सामान्य कोच जैसा ही हो गया है| खासकर लंबी दूरी की मेल और एक्सप्रेस ट्रेनों के यात्रियों को ज्यादा परेशानियों का सामना करना पड़ रहा है|रेलवे का कहना है की जबतक स्लीपर कोच की आरक्षित सीट के यात्री नहीं चाहेंगे दुसरे यात्री उस पर नहीं बैठ सकते, उन्हें खड़े होकर ही जाना पड़ेगा | परंतु यथास्थिति हम सभी जानते हैं की एक बार टिकेट मिल  जाने पर क्या होता है|

To make ticket booking easier, railway has started booking of unreserved tickets through mobile app. Through your android/windows smartphone, all you have to do is to download the given app – utsonmobile - and register yourself by filling up the registration form.

Once login id and user password is created you need to login and create an R-wallet that can be recharged from counters on railway station or you can also recharge through internet with minimum of Rs 100 to maximum of Rs 5000.

Once you have the balance in your R-wallet you can book unreserved tickets through app with maximum of four tickets in one time.

However, many limitations are imposed in order to restrict any black marketing such as –

Journey tickets are allowed within the radius of 5km of departure station while passengers can only book tickets 15 meters away from railway tracks or station.

Platform tickets can be booked for a distance maximum of 2 kms from the journey station.

No one can book tickets of later dates i.e. you will only be allowed to book ticket of the same day.

Once booked, ticket will be saved on your app and will be valid without being printed on paper.

This facility will also reduce extra rush on ticketing counters thereby facilitating such passengers to purchase their tickets rather easily who do not have smartphones.

स्वच्छ रेल स्वच्छ भारत अभी यान के तहत रायपुर में रविवार को जब हावड़ा से चलकर मुम्बई जाने वाली लोकमान्य तिलक सुपरफास्ट ट्रेन के पैंट्री कार में निरीक्षक पहुंचे तो ये देख के सकते में आ गए की जिस जगह आटा गुंथा जा रहा था वही कॉकरोचेस उछल रहे थे|इसके अलावा शिकायत डायरी में 15 रूपए की पानी बोतल 20 रूपए में बेचे जाने की शिकायत भी लिखी हुई थी|इन सभी विसंगतियों के बावजूद उन्होंने पैंट्रीकार सुपरवाइजर को बस फटकार लगाकर छोड़ दिया|राजधानी छोड़ ज्यादातर ट्रेनों का जिनमे पैंट्रीकार लगता है यही हाल है पर रेलवे बस अभीयान चलाता है पर कोई कार्यवाही नहीं करता|इसके बाद स्टेशन पर खान-पान का निरिक्षण हुआ, इधर उधर घूम कर कुछ स्टालों से पेटीस उठाकर यात्रियों को चखाया और पूछा कैसा है| संतोषजनक जवाब मिलने पर आगे बढ़ गए और कैंटीन की इधर उधर बिखरी कुर्सियों को सही कराया|कॉकरोच मिलने का वाकया पहली बार नहीं हुआ है, कुछ दिन पहले ही हावड़ा अहमदाबाद एक्प्रेस में खाने में से कॉकरोच निकले थे तो यात्रयों ने हंगामा किया था|समझ में बस ये नहीं आया की निरिक्षण वाकई निरीक्षण था या बस खाना पूर्ती?

बरहन स्टेशन के पास एक मालगाड़ी के चार डिब्बे पटरी से सुबह 6:35 बजे उतर गए जिस वजह से आगरा रूट पर राजधानी सहित कई महत्वपूर्ण ट्रेनों का संचालन रुक गया|किसी के इस घटना में किसी भी प्रकार की चोट लगने को कोई खबर नहीं है| रेल ट्रैक का फ्रैक्चर इस घटना का कारण बताया जा रहा है| बिजली एक पोल हालाँकि इससे छतिग्रस्त हो गया|राजधानी समेत कई ट्रेनों को मोड़ दिया गया है वहीँ हाथरस के पास ट्रेनों को काफी देर तक खड़ा रहना पड़ा|रूट अभी पूर्णतया संचालित नहीं हो पाया है|

सरयू एक्सप्रेस फैज़ाबाद से चलकर प्रतापगढ़ होते हुए इलाहाबाद जाती है| प्रतापगढ़ में इसके पहुँचने  का समय सुबह सात बजकर पंद्रह मिनट है पर सोमवार के दिन ये लेट थी| यात्री आते गए और उन्हें टिकेट देते रहे रेल कर्मी|यात्रियों ने भी दोपहर तक सरयू एक्प्रेस का इंतज़ार किया और बीच में कई बार जाकर पूछताछ काउंटर पर पूछा | हर बार उन्हें देरी से ट्रैन आने का ही जवाब मिलता था परंतु उन्हें सटीक स्थिति का पता नहीं चल रहा था|दोपहर दो बजकर पंद्रह मिनट पर लखनऊ कंट्रोल से मैसेज आया की सरयू प्रतापगढ़ में ही निरस्त कर दी गयी है| रेलकर्मचारियों ने हालाँकि तुरंत इसकी सूचना यात्रियों को दे दी पर जब टिकेट के पैसे वापिस करने की बात आई तब आरक्षण क्लर्क ने ये कह के पैसे देने से मन कर दिया की उसे इस बात की कोई सूचना नहीं मिली है|ये सुन पहले से ही क्रोधित यात्रियों ने हंगामा शुरू कर दिया और इसकी शिकायत स्टेशन मास्टर से की| स्टेशन मास्टर ने बीच बचाव करते हुए सभी यात्रियों के टिकट के पैसे वापस करवाये|यात्रियों को सुबह की निरस्त की गयी ट्रेन की टिकट दोपहर तक क्यों दी गयी इसका कोई जवाब रेलवे के पास नहीं था|

It will take five years to convert Khandwa-Mhow broad gauge line to make it operational. Until now if you want to board a train for Indore from Khandwa, the option was meter gauge that runs between Khandwa and Mhow. From November 2016, first stage of work will start from Sanawad to Khandwa while the second stage can only be started in April 2017 from Sanawad to Mhow.

This also means that you will get train for Indore in 2022 from Khandwa from November 2016. The benefits of meter gauge conversion into broad gauge conversion is said to be many –

Firstly Indore will be closer by 22kms. Cities of south India like Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai and north Indian cities like Jaipur and Ajmer will be directly connected to each other.

Railway track between Indore and Mhow has been converted into broad gauge. Once the track is completed, the total length of the track will be 118kms, which will include 11.24 kms of tunnel.

The only minus point of this track seems deforestation of 130 hectare of land; this means a minimum of 10,000 tress will be cut. Clearance regarding the same is yet to get a nod from environment ministry but it is more of a formality.

IRCTC’s 1-rupee travel insurance has been a partial hit between travelers. Although 89 lakh travelers till now have opted for the 1 rupee travel insurance, but it is just 30% of the total booked tickets on IRCTC website.

IRCTC expect it to reach 1-crore by the end of this month as 300,000 passengers opt for the insurance daily on an average.

IRCTC chairman AK Manocha says that railway expects all passengers booking tickets on IRCTC website to opt for the insurance because no other insurance policy can better ours.

Under the current scheme –

10 lakh of rupees is granted in case of death or permanent disability.

7.5 lakh of rupees is granted in case of partial disability

A maximum of Rs 2 lakh is given if passenger is hospitalized.

Rs. 10,000 is granted to transport mortal remains of the passenger in case of death during train accident or any incident on board.

IRCTC is also looking for the ways to spread this scheme to more passengers, as it is only applicable on long distance journey trains if ticket is booked through IRCTC website.
