Southern Railway has started an all women Passenger Facilitation at Chennai Egmore from October 13, 2016 for assistance of women passengers. At this center only women personnel would be deployed by RPF (Railway Protection Force) and Commercial Department. Station Manager, Chennai Egmore will control the work of Passenger Facilitation Center while overall control of the center will remain under Chief Commercial Manager/Passenger Marketing who will serve as the guardian HOD for this facility.

The All Women Passenger Facilitation Center will provide assistance to women passengers in:
• Accessing Retiring Room Medical Help, and Rest Room Facility on the station• Getting prepaid Taxi/Auto services• Monitor registered prepaid taxis and autos at prepaid auto booth taken by the women during night hours• Facilitation of complaints registration in relation to Railways• Facilitation in filing complaints with Railway Police• Assistance in getting Luggage porters and Wheel Chairs • Platform/PNR/Train related enquiry or any other enquiry related to Railway
Apart from this, a Baby Feeding Center will be incorporated at every Women Passenger Facilitation Center where women passengers can feed their infants in the comfort.
The center is functioning at Platform no.4 of Chennai Egmore railway station.

इसी माह से शुरू होने जा रही है खजुराहो-छतरपुर-टीकमगढ़ ट्रेन । मुख्यमंत्री शिवराज सिंह चौहान 18 अक्टूबर को खजुराहो से ट्रेन को हरी झंडी दिखाएंगे। रेलवे स्टाफ भी छतरपुर में पहुंचने लगा है।  कुछ रेलवे के कर्मी छतरपुर रेलवे स्टेशन पर गुरुवार को पहुंच गए है। 
छतरपुर रेलवे स्टेशन पर पैनल रूम बन चुका है और सिग्नल भी दिए जा रहे है। रेलवे स्टेशन पे टिकट घर की व्यवस्थाएं पूर्ण हो चुकी है। डीआरएस के अनुसार चूँकि अलग से ट्रेन की व्यवस्था करने में परेशानियां आ रही थी, इसलिए फिलहाल झांसी-टीकमगढ़ ट्रेन ही छतरपुर तक आएगी। यह ट्रेन टीकमगढ़ से छतरपुर आएगी और छतरपुर से होते हुए खजुराहो पहुंचेगीऔर खजुराहो से इसी तरह वापस जाएगी|
मुख्यमंत्री शिवराज सिंह चौहान के अलावा केंद्रीय रेलमंत्री सुरेश प्रभु और केंद्रीय मंत्री उमा भारती बी आ सकती है जिसकी तैयारी पूरी हो चुकी है।  18 अक्टूबर से रोजाना ट्रेनइस ट्रैक पर चलेगी।  , जहां बस मार्ग  के माध्यम से टीकमगढ़ से छतरपुर  का रास्ता ढाई घंटे में तय किया जाता है और रुपए भी अधिक देने होते है वहीँ ट्रेन से करीब डेढ़ घंटे में ये रास्ता तय किया जता है ।
18 अक्टूबर से झांसी-खजुराहो पैसेंजर इन स्टेशनों से जाएगी - ललितपुर, टीकमगढ़, छतरपुर। इसी प्रकार वह वापस भी जाएगी। छतरपुर रेलवे स्टेशन स्टाफ कम रहेगा जब तक मंत्रालय से पास  नहीं होता है | बता दे कि इस रुट पर ट्रेन चलाने को लेकर अभी फाइल मंत्रालय में पड़ी हुई है। 
दो बार छतरपुर रेलवे स्टेशन का निरीक्षण रेलवे आयुक्त कर चुका है| ट्रेन 123 किलोमीटर के इस रुट पर 75 किलोमीटर प्रतिघंटा की रफ्तार से  चल सकेगी। कुछ दिनों बाद यह ट्रेन झांसी से महोबा तक भी चलाई जाएगी। ललितपुर से सिंगरौली रेल लाइन परियोजना के तहत झांसी-टीकमगढ़ पैसेंजर का संचालन शुरु किया गया था। बता दे कि यह ट्रेन झांसी से सुबह 6.50 बजे चलकर ललितपुर होते हुए 10.55 बजे टीकमगढ़ रेलवे स्टेशन पर पहुंचती है|

It’s been ten years since Kolkata’s circular railway has been operating between Dum Dum Cantonment stations to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport. Now on 30th it will run its last train as circular railway is ready to give way to Metro’s construction.

The construction of 6.87km long metro line 4 will begin between Noapara and the airport. Apart from this construction, a portion between Jessore Road and Dum Dum Cantonment is also being re-proposed to run the metro’s east-bound service. A new parallel line is also under construction to run metro’s west bound service.

The total underground construction will be of 1.75km between Airport station and Jessore Road.

It has been said that Eastern Railway did not marketed its Circular route to airport properly thereby not generating enough revenue to support itself. Also a total of only 10 services are being run by the railway daily for air-port bound passengers between Jessore Road and Biman Bandar Airport Stations, which is not enough.

Indian Railways has witnessed a mixed trend for freight and passengers revenues in September. According to railways data, passenger revenue was marginally up by 2.71% while revenue from transporting goods was down to 5.37% year-on-year.

The total passenger revenue stood at Rs.3,815.43 crore for September compared with Rs.3,711.68 crore in the same period last year. Apart from this recently a report came out indicating that railways has missed its target of Rs.4,253.71 crore by margin of 10.30% in passenger revenue.

In terms of freight, the Indian Railways witnessed a decline in revenue by generating Rs.7,719.52 crore compared with Rs.8,157.65 crore last year in the same time period, thereby missing the target of Rs.8,564.27 crore.

The data shows that overall earning target for August 2016 was missed by Indian railways by a serious margin of 15.62%. 

Its Diwali time for railways, seats are full on regular trains, weekly trains and in special trains too. What is left then? Suvidha special as they have flexi fares that amounts to very high tariff.

It will be very hard to find a seat these days if you want to travel from Delhi or Mumbai towards UP and Bihar. Railway says they are jammed pack and there will no more introduction of new special trains.

There are 35 trains between Lucknow and Delhi that connects these two places daily but such is the condition that one will be unable to find seat at all in any train.

Immediately after durga pooja railway has witnessed a surge in passenger’s traffic. Even in tatkal you have seconds to book your ticket else you will be unable to secure a seat.

Few trains such as Lucknow mail is witnessing a waiting list of upto 500 in sleeper for 28 October while in shatabdi a whopping 400. The biggest problem for passengers is that once Diwali will be over, again there will rush for return journey.

After Aligarh mega block, railway is gearing up for mega block on Lucknow-Kanpur route which will affect trains coming from Ratlam directly.

Few trains will be cancelled or partially cancelled while others will be diverted. Railways has already announced few trains that will be cancelled or partially cancelled or diverted.

Trains that will be cancelled are –Train No. - 19053 Surat-muzaffarpur-Surat will be cancelled from November 11, 18, 25 and 2 December.Train no. - 19054 will remain cancelled from Muzaffarpur on 12, 20, 27 November and 4 December.
Trains that will not go to Lucknow are –Train no. - 19021 Bandra-Lucknow weekly will be terminated at Kanpur on 12, 19, 26 November and 3 December.Train no. 19022 Lucknow-Bandra weekly will go from Kanpur on 14, 21, 28 November and 5 December

Trains that are diverted are –Train no. 15045 Gorakhpur-Okha will go through Mankapur, Ayodhya, Faizabad, Allahabad and Kanpur on 17 and 24 November and 1 December.Train no. 15046 Okha-Gorakhpur will go through Kanpur, Allahabad, Faizabad, Ayodhya and Mankapur on 13, 20 and 27 November and on 4 december

अलीगढ के बाद अब लखनऊ-कानपूर सेक्शन में मेगाब्लॉक करने की तैयारी हो गयी है जिस वजह से रतलाम मंडल से जाने वाली ट्रेनों पर सीधा असर पड़ेगा| बहुत सी यात्री गाड़ियों को निरस्त किया जा रहा है जबकि कुछ को आंशिक रूप से निरस्त किया जाएगा| इसके अलावा ट्रेनों के रूट परिवर्तन भी किये जाएंगे|
जिन ट्रेनों को अभी तक निरस्त करने का फैसला ले लिया गया है वो हैं - 
गाडी संख्या 19053 सूरत-मुजफ्फरपुर सूरत से 11, 18, 25 व 2 दिसंबर को निरस्त रहेगी।

गाडी संख्या 19054 मुजफ्फरपुर से 12, 20, 27 नवंबर व 4 दिसंबर को निरस्त रहेगी।
जो ट्रेनें लखनऊ नहीं जाएंगी वो हैं  -
गाडी संख्या 19021 बांद्रा-लखनऊ साप्ताहिक ट्रेन 12, 19, 26 नवंबर व 3 दिसंबर को कानपुर तक जाएगी।

-गाडी संख्या 19022 लखनऊ-बांद्रा ट्रेन 14, 21, 28 नवंबर व 5 दिसंबर को कानपुर से चलेगी।
जिन ट्रेनों का मार्ग बदल दिया गया है वो हैं -
गाडी संख्या 15045 गोरखपुर-ओखा 17 व 24 नवंबर के अलावा 1 दिसंबर को मानकपुर, अयोध्या, फैजाबाद, इलाहाबाद व कानपुर के रास्ते चलेगी।
गाडी संख्या 15046 ओखा-गोरखपुर 13, 20 व 27 नवंबर के अलावा 4 दिसंबर को कानपुर, इलाहााबद, फैजाबाद, अयोध्या व मानकपुर होकर चलेगी।

गोरखपुर स्टेशन देश के उन आदर्श ४०० स्टेशनों में शामिल है जिनका कायाकल्प होना है| कहने के लिए तो इसपे सारी सुविधाएं हैं पर जमीनी स्तर पर ऐसा नहीं है| खाने पीने के सामान से लेकर जरूरी दवाइयां भी बाहर से ही लेनी पड़ती हैं| यात्रियों के बैठ के खाने के लिए कोई व्यवस्था नहीं है; हालाँकि कुछ वर्ष पहले आईआरसीटीसी ने जान आहार खुला था पर वो भी बंद हो चुका है|
इन सभी कमियों को दूर करने के उद्देश्य से प्लेटफॉर्म नंबर दो पर स्थित जन आहार को निजी हाथों में सौपे जाने की तैयारी चल रही है| प्रक्रिया अंतिम चरण में हैं और जैसे ही सारी औपचारिकताएं पूरी हो जाएंगी इसे दुबारा शुरू कर दिया जाएगा|
इसके अलावा यात्रियों के लिए रहत भरी खबर ये है की स्टेशन के स्टालों पर फल, बेबी मिल्क और गर्म पानी भी मिलेगा| केमिस्ट शॉप भी खुलेगा जिस पर हर जरूरी दवाइयां भी मिलेंगी|

अलीगढ स्टेशन पर तीन नए प्लेटफार्म बनाने का कार्य चल रहा है जिस कारण डीजल ट्रेनों का संचालन पूर्णतया बंद कर दिया गया था| बंद की गयी ट्रेनों में से एटा-टूंडला पैसेंजर और आगरा-एटा फ़ास्ट पैसेंजर भी शामिल थीं| 
शनिवार को एटा-आगरा फ़ास्ट पैसेंजर का संचालन शुरू हो गया था परन्तु एटा-टुंडला पैसेंजर का संचालन अभी तक नहीं हो पाया है| जबसे प्लेटफार्म निर्माण कार्य शुरू हुआ है स्टेशन भी सून पड़ा हुया है, यात्री प्रतीक्षालय भी पूरी तरह से सूना पड़ा हुया है|
स्टेशन अडधीक्षक का कहना है की एटा-टुंडला पैसेंजर जल्द ही शुरू हो जाएगी, हालाँकि संचालन ११ अक्टूबर से ही होना था पर अलीगढ में हो रहे काम की वजह से अभी तक नहीं हो पाया है|

For high speed train India is inching closer to Germany and is ready to sign a pact with them. A high ranking delegation from German ministry of transportation and Digital Infrastructure is about to meet Indian Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu.

A senior Railway ministry official said that between the two countries a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) will be signed. German delegation will visit India for four days from October 12 to October 15. Earlier Suresh Prabhu visited Germany in April.
