Train No. 14043 Garhwal Express that runs from Kotdwar to Old Delhi will remain partially cancelled till 18 October, 2016. This train will depart from Kotdwar as per the schedule but will be terminated at Najibabad Junction.

In the similar fashion the return journey for 14044 Garhwal Express will commence its journey towards Kotdwar from Najibabad Junction.

To clear the extra rush of passengers during the Diwali festival and this winter season, South Central Railway will run 14 specials between Tirupati and H.S. Nanded.

Train No. 07608 will depart from Tirupati at 3.45 p.m. on 19 and 26 October. And in November train will depart on 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 and will reach H.S. Nanded at 11.30 a.m. the next day.

In the return direction, Train No. 07607 will leave at 6.45 p.m. on October 18 and 25 and November 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 to reach Tirupati at 2 p.m. the next day.

A special stoppage for Train 16342 Thiruvananthapuram-Guruvayur Intercity Express has been announced by Southern Railway at the Ernakulam Town station.

Train 16342 Thiruvananthapuram-Guruvayur Intercity Express will stop on Ernakulam Town station on the following dates -

• October 14,
• November 8,
• November 12,
• November 25 and
• December 4

The announcement has been made in connection with Indian Super League Soccer matches.

A freight train heading towards Bengaluru got derailed at Sirivagilu near Edakumari in Sakleshpur taluk on Wednesday, disrupting rail traffic between Mangaluru, Karwar and Subramanya.

South Western railways was forced to stop 16515 Yeshwantpur-Karwar Express at Hassan Railway station. The incident occurred at 11:15Am on Wednesday when a freight train from Mangaluru was on the move towards Bengaluru. The rescue team immediately took off to clear the track.

Passengers at Hassan station were immediately informed about the station and were asked to wait until the track is restored or to take refund of their tickets.

Many opted to take the refund while there were few who stayed back. Railway returned partial amount to passengers who went for refund.

Two on duty central railway employees got hit by passing train due to which one is dead while other sustained injuries.

Nitin Palane age 49 and Deu bhau age 59 were on routine inspection with other employees near kopar station. While working on the track a train was passing just next to it.

Immediately after the hit, other employees with railway police took them to the nearest hospital in shashtri nagar where Nitin Palane was declared dead while Bhau’s condition is stable as he sustained minor injuries.

Railway police has registered a case of accidental death and will record statements of other employees who were present on the spot.

केंद्रीय रेलवे के दो कर्मचारी जब प्रतिदिन के नियमित निरिक्षण पर थे तब बगल से जा रही ट्रेन से उनकी टक्कर हो गई| इस घटना में एक की मौत हो गई जबकि एक घायलअवस्था में अस्पताल में भर्ती है|
कोपर स्टेशन के पास नितिन पालने और उनका सहायक देऊ भाऊ प्रतिदिन की तरह निरिक्षण पर निकले थे| उनके साथ और भी कर्मचारी थे जो बगल के ट्रैक का निरिक्षण कर रहे थे की इतने मे ट्रेन से दोनों की टक्कर हो गयी| बाकी कर्मचारियों और रेलवे पुलिस तुरंत ही पास के शास्त्री नगर अस्पताल में उन्हें ले गए जहाँ नितिन पालने को मृत घोसित कर दिया जबकि सहायक कर्मचारी भाऊ को मामूली चोट आई और डॉक्टरों के अनुसार उसकी स्थिति स्थिर है|
रेलवे पुलिस ने दुर्घटना में मृत्यु का केस दर्ज कर लिया है और घटना की जांच के लिए बाकी साथ के कर्मचारियों से वर्णन लिया जाएगा|

भोपाल से इंदौर के लिए डबल-डेकर रेलवे ने 2013 में चलाई थी पर यात्री न मिलने के कारण इसे बंद करना पड़ा| रेलवे को इस रूट पर डबल डेकर से काफी उम्मीदें थी इसलिए निराश भी उतनी ही हुई| पर इसी बीच ग्वालियर से इंदौर के लिए डबल डेकर चलने की मांग भी ससामने आई हे| 
प्रतिदिन सुबह ग्वालियर से इंदौर के लिए कोई भी ट्रेन नहीं है| प्रतिदिन चलने वाली इंटरसिटी एक्सप्रेस तो है पर वो सुबह नहीं जाती है, इसके अलावा जो भी ट्रेन हैं साप्ताहिक हैं और ग्वालियर से नहीं चलती हैं जिस वजह से उनमे सीट नहीं मिल पाती है| इस वजह से रेलवे ये सर्वे करा रहा है की इस रूट पर डबल डेकर चलाई जाए तो यात्री मिलने की कितनी संभावना है|
अगर सर्वे रिपोर्ट में सबकुछ ठीक रहा तो ग्वालियर-इंदौर-ग्वालियर को डबल डेकर मिल सकती है|

बिलासपुर रेल मंडल ने पिचक्ले छह महीने की २३ विशेष गाड़ियों के परिचलान से 7 करोड़ 60 लाख का मुनाफा कमाया| इसके अलावा पिछले छह महीने में बिलापुर रेल मंडल से चलने वाली गाड़ियों में 23 लाख 44 हजार यात्रियों ने सफर किया जिससे रेलवे को 168 करोड़ से ज्यादा का मुनाफा कमाया|बिलासपुर रेल मंडल के ये आकड़ें रेलवे के लियॆ अच्छे संकेत हैं| बिलासपुर रेल मंडल ने यात्रियों की शिकायत दूर करने में भी अव्वल स्थान पाया है| 1010 यात्री शिकायतों में से 1008  की शिकायतें दूर हुईं|बिना टिकट यात्रा करने वाले यात्रियों के चालान से भी 3 करोड़ 8 लाख की  कमाई रेलवे को हुई| रेलवे के अनुसार इस वर्ष 91000 ऐसे यात्रयों का चालान हुआ है जो पिछली वर्ष की अपेक्षा 13 प्रतिशत ज्यादा है|

Adding special trains to its fleet on important routes has been a hit for Indian Railways. Nor does it provide some extra cash to railway but these trains also do not demand any special service for the passengers.

Bilaspur rail zone has come out with the numbers and the number suggests that Railway might earn good this festive season compared to the last year. As many 23 special trains were ran by the Bilaspur zone that returned a profit of Rs 7 crore 60 lakh.

Apart from this a total of 23 lakh 44 thousand passengers travelled in last 6 months from Bilaspur rail Zone that earned railway 168 crore 13 thousand rupees. What is striking that Railway also earned Rs. 3 crore and 78 lakh from 91,000 cases of travelling without ticket or on an altered ticket intentionally. Railway says that there is a 13% increase in such incidents compared to last year.

As many as 1200 passenger and freight trains are running through country’s most sensitive wildlife habitat. These trains post a major threat to India’s wildlife as they run through protected areas and corridors in eastern and Central India, home to many endangered species including tigers and elephants.

Through a RTI query the information has come out that passenger trains runs daily or at least four times a week that possess a major threat to major wildlife habitat.

The RTI query also reveals that there are major sections off the route that cuts through wildlife sections, does not even have speed restrictions. Between 1987 to 2010 as many as 150 elephants were killed after they took a hit from train. Such figures though are not accounted for tigers while forget reptiles.

Apart from elephant’s documentation there is no documentation for leopard, bears, tiger or any other animal.
