Train Number 12691 Chennai Central – Sathya Sai Prashanthi Nilayam Express, scheduled to leave Chennai Central at 11.30PM on May 19, has been rescheduled to leave Chennai Central at 01.00AM on May 20 late by 1 hour and 30 minutes due to late running of pairing train.

Following trains to get one extra coach temporarily to clear the extra rush of passengers -

• 12284 / 83 Hazrat Nizamuddin – Ernakulam – Hazrat Nizamuddin Weekly Express to get one 3AC coach till June 27
• 12218 / 17 Chandigarh – Kochuveli – Chandigarh Bi-Weekly Express to get one Sleeper Class till July 3
• 12450 / 49 Chandigarh – Madgaon – Chandigarh Biweekly Express to get one Sleeper Class till June 28
• 10215 / 16 Ernakulam – Madgaon – Ernakulam Weekly Express to get one sleeper class till June 26

To clear the extra rush of passengers Central Railway has revised train composition of train number 01119 / 01120 Ajni – Madgao – Ajni Special with immediate effect as per details –

Existing composition –

• Total coaches – 18
• 2 Tier AC - 01 Coach,
• 3 Tier AC – 01 Coach,
• Sleeper – 12 Coach,    
• General – 02 Coach,
• SLR – 02

Revised Composition –

• Total number of coaches – 19
• 2 Tier AC - 01 Coach,
• 3 Tier AC – 01 Coach, 
• Sleeper – 12 Coach,   
• General – 03 Coach,
• SLR – 02.

Toy train over 3km long stretch between Aman Lodge and Matheran may run from June.

After twin derailments in May 2016 of toy train services on the entire 20 kilometre route were suspended. Earlier Central Railway operated 24 services during the weekend on the 3km stretch. Initially railway is planning to resume four to six services per day. Gradually this number will be increased back to 24.

Manual braking system was blamed after derailment of train. Now railway has locomotives with air brakes and an increased power capacity of 600 horse power. However speed has taken a hit by 5 kmph and will now be 10kmph maximum. The maximum speed allowed for the toy train prior to derailment was 15 kmph.

रेलवे अधिकारीयों की माने तो सफाई एजेंसी सिर्फ प्लेटफॉर्म की सफाई पर ध्यान देती रही जबकि बाकी हिस्से जस के तस बने रहे| नीचे वो कारण दिए गए हैं जिस कारण साफ़ सफाई में पिछड़ा टाटानगर रेलवे स्टेशन -

• टाटानगर से खुलने वाली कुछ ट्रेनों के कोच में सफाई में कमी
• लिफ्ट-एसकेलेटर निर्माण कार्य में नियम का पालन नहीं।
• यात्री सुविधा के आधार पर खान-पान की बेहतर सुविधा का नहीं होना
• प्लेटफॉर्म 2 से 5 तक यात्रियों के बैठने की उचित व्यवस्था का नहीं होना
• ट्रैक पर गंदगी (प्लेटफॉर्म-1 के अलावा), कीचड़
• स्टेशन के बाहरी क्षेत्र में शौचालय का नहीं होना
• रिजर्वेशन काउंटर में पानी, बुकिंग काउंटर में यात्रियों के लिए शौचालय की व्यवस्था का नहीं होना।
• स्टेशन के पार्किंग एरिया और आसपास में गंदगी का अंबार

Pantry car staff of Mumbai – Delhi August Kranti Rajdhani Express protested after being reprimanded for taking tips from passengers. Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation appointed the staff who on Tuesday boarded the train from Mumbai Central from where train departs at 05:40PM.

As soon as the train left platform, staff pulled chain and halted the train. Later they argued with pantry car manager over asking passenger for tips. Some sources say that workers were upset over payment issues.

A railway official said, “We arranged for six staffers at Borivali where the train halted for extra six minutes instead of the scheduled two minutes.

Feasibility study for running first semi-high speed Tejas train on Mumbai – Surat route is completed by Western Railway and a final report will be submitted soon.

As per plan, Tejas train will depart from Dadar at 07:20AM and will arrive Surat at 10:50AM. Similarly in the return direction it will depart at 04:55PM and will arrive Dadar at 08:35PM. The total journey will last three and half hours which also includes eight stoppages in total.

Interestingly, total journey time is 15 minutes more than of Shatabdi Express journey time; however Shatabdi halts at only two stations – Borivali and Vapi.

Tejas is targeted at the business traveller, who is willing to pay more for better service and more comfort. The fare is expected to be 20-30 per cent more than the ticket price for a Shatabdi ride.

• आवेदन करने की फीस - सामान्य वर्ग के लिए 100 रूपए जबकि सामान्य के अलावा के लिए आवेदन निशुल्क होगा

Due to Line Block and Power Block to facilitate engineering works between Katpadi – Latteri in Katpadi – Jolarpettai sections, there will be change in pattern of train services on May 20 and 21 as per details –

On May 20 following trains will be regulated –

• 22637 Chennai Central – Mangalore Central West Coast Express will be regulated for 60 minutes
• 12578 Mysuru – Darbhanga Bagmati Express will be regulated for 1 hour and 5 minutes

Train regulated on May 21 –

22637 Chennai Central – Mangalore Central West Coast Express will be regulated for 50 minutes.

On May 20 and 23 Northern Railway will impose traffic and power block between Babugarh - Hapur Stations on Moradabad -Ghaziabad section. This will affect following train services –

Trains diverted –

15909 Dibrugarh-Lalgarh Avadh-Assam Express train will be diverted via Moradabad-Tapri-Ghaziabad.

15036 Kathgodam-Delhi Uttar Sampark Kranti Express train will be diverted via Moradabad-Tapri-Ghaziabad on May 23.

Train regulated –

54055 Moradabad-Delhi Passenger train will be regulated for 10 minutes on May 20 and for 30 minutes on May 23 in between route.
