Special trains from Indore to Patna and Indore to Delhi are running over capacity forcing railway officials to think running these trains as regular trains.

Both these trains are running on special fares which makes their tickets 50 per cent pricier than normal ticket, still both these trains are running overcapacity.

According to railway officers, “The rush of passengers is also because of peak summer season but if the occupancy remains the same after this period, the railways may consider them to run as regular train service.”

Recently occupancy level in Indore – Patna Weekly Special train increased by 45 percent in just one month. Similarly, Indore – Delhi Sarai Rohilla is running with 130 percent occupancy level. For railway this has generated an additional revenue of more than 96.5 lakh rupees.

प्लेटफॉर्म व परिसर में ब्लीचिंग पाउडर का छिड़काव नहीं होता है और ना ही कूड़ेदान की भी सफाई नहीं की जाती है | टेंडर से पहले रेलवे की व्यवस्था में प्रतिदिन पटरी व प्लेटफॉर्म परिसर की सफाई होती थी, परिसर में ब्लीचिंग पाउडर का भी छिड़काव किया जाता जाता था।

रेलवे चाहे कितना भी साफ़ सफाई पर जोर दे ले परन्तु आज भी ज्यादातर ट्रेनों में लोग गंदगी के बीच सफर करने को मजबूर हैं| ज्यादातर बोगियां गन्दी ही रहती हैं और शौचालय और बेसिन तो प्रयोग करने लायक भी नहीं होते हैं | स्लीपर बोगियों में सीटें फटी हुई होती हैं तो कुछ सीटों का तो इतनी पुरानी हो जाती हैं की बैठने तक में आराम नहीं मिलता है| 

शुक्रवार को जब ट्रेनों की पड़ताल की गयी तो ज्यादातर ट्रेनों में हालत ऐसे ही देखी गयी | जयपुर-कामाख्या, सप्तक्रांति, गोदिंया, ग्वालियर मेल, डेमू, अवध असम एक्सप्रेस समेत अन्य ट्रेनों में ऐसा ही हाल दिखा। ऐसा लग रहा था की इन ट्रेनों में महीनों से सफाई ही नहीं की गयी है | अवध असम एक्सप्रेस में बेसिन इतने गंदे थे की हाथ धोने में भी संकोच हो जाये | शौचालय गंदे थे और पानी भी नहीं आ रहा था | 
यात्रियों के अनुसार किराया तो पूरा लिया जाता है परन्तु साफ सफाई के नाम पर सिर्फ खाना पूर्ती होती है | सप्तक्रांति एक्सप्रेस की तो एसी बोगी में सफाई का हाल बुरा था |  यहां तो शौचालय के केबिन पास ही पानी बह रहा है। एसी में आराम के लिए सफर करते हैं, लेकिन जहां बैठिए वहीं गंदगी रहती है। हालाँकि सफर करने वाले यात्रियों की भी आधी गलती होती है | लोग जहाँ कहते हैं चीज़ें वहीँ छोड़ देते हैं, बेसिन प्रयोग किया तो पानी तक दाल कर गंदगी को नहीं बहते | सफर पूरा होने के बाद सभी खाने पीने की चीज़ें वहीँ गिराकर चले जाते हैं |

Indian Railways will launch its first Tejas train on May 22 between Mumbai and Goa. This will be a flagship train service by Indian Railways and for the first time train will equipped with state of art facilities.

All kinds of modern services like LED TV screens on every seat, large coffee and tea vending machines besides other safety related features will comfort the passengers during journey. The 19 coach train will have executive class and chair class like Shatabdi express.

All the coaches will be fitted with CCTV cameras, fire and smoke detection system besides GPS based information display system. Every seat will have comfortable seating configuration with leg support and will be equipped with individual screens with touch screen control system.

In country’s busiest suburban network commuters often lose their lives due to lack of pull proof safety measures but now the perils of manning the system is snatching the lives of railway staff.

One Railway constable, two gangmen and five railway officers have been run over by trains in the span of last eight months. This has set off alarm bells in Mumbai division. Officials admits that there are no safety related protocols for railway employees.

The lastest such incident occurred last Thursday night when a deputy station master Ashok Azad, was ran over by a local train near Vile Parle. Ashok was attending a case of trespassing, the incident held up trains on track for 40 minutes around 9 PM.

According to a senior official, Railway does not have any standard operating procedure for its employees. In night working on tracks becomes even more challenging. Operation staff do not have signal when train approaches on work site due to which onus of safety entirely depends on them.

According to union sources, 44 railway workers, which includes contractual labourers, have lost their lives on tracks in Mumbai division since 2010.
