Collision of a passenger train with a freight train left one dead and several others injured. The accident occurred near Kathajodi railway station in Cuttack region.

Rescue operation is on, as railway officials rushed towards the accident spot. Around 6:30 PM on 29th September, just before 200 meters from Cuttack railway station a freight train was standing unmoved. 78408 - Bhubaneshwar-Bhadrak DMU rushing towards Cuttack station collided from behind the freight train.

Train services between Bhubaneshwar and Cuttack are seriously affected currently. A high level investigation committee is formed to investigate this accident.

Some accidents in your life not just only change the way you live but it also makes you stronger from inside. In a similar story of Monika More who lost both her hands in a Rail accident in Mumbai, is now working to create awareness between passengers to ensure their safety.

Two years back she slipped into a gap between women’s compartment and platform. She was immediately taken to KEM hospital but sadly her arms were too mutilated for surgical reattachment. Thereafter, she spent 6 months into rehabilitation in the hospital itself. During this period she was also gifted electronic prosthetic hands by a German company that allow her to eat with specially made spoons, write and use her laptop.

Greater Mumbai’s municipal corporation also gave a compensation of 23 lakhs of rupees.

Later she was invited by Central Railway officials at CST station to discuss about the awareness programme, how to improve quality of service and to address problems of passengers in local train.

She also submitted her own proposal regarding platform heights and frequency of train with guarantee of seats for physically disabled people.

Currently her aim is to make people aware about safety and precautions while boarding and travelling on train. Monika’s father says that since she is a survivor, therefore people are in general more receptive towards her.

पूर्वोत्तर रेलवे में आने वाले छपरा जंक्शन का सर्वे कर आईआरसीटीसी के अधिकारियों ने इसकी काया पलट की उम्मीद भढ़ा दी है| आईआरसीटीसी ने स्टेशन के प्लेटफार्म और आसपास के क्षेत्र का सर्वेक्षण किया और ये जानकारी एकत्रित की कि कहाँ कहाँ, क्या क्या करना है| 
आईआरसीटीसी सबसे पहले यात्रियों की सुविधाएं बढ़ाने पर ध्यान देगा जिसके लिए खरीददारी की सामूहिक जगह, फ़ूड प्लाजा और होटल बनाये जायेंगे| इसके अलावा स्टेशन की सुंदरता पर विशेष ध्यान दिया जाएगा तथा स्टेशन का प्रवेश गेट भी भव्य बनाया जाएगा|
स्टेशन पर स्वचालित सीढ़ी का निर्माण पहले से ही चल रहा है पर फिर भी और पैदल पथ बनाये जाएंगे तथा उन्हें आपस में जोड़ा भी जाएगा| 
स्टेशन पर ही होटल बनने से यात्रयों के रुकने में काफी सहूलियत हो जाएगी जिसके लिए पास में ही खाली माल गोदामो का उपयोग किया जा सकता है|

Indian railway has become lifeline for the country; a slight disturbance and the life of general public goes berserk. Railways are operating under how much extreme pressure can be seen just by number of passengers not getting confirm ticket on an average basis daily.

According to a survey conducted by railyatri.com number of passengers opting train as the only option have gone up to an all time high and at least 10 lakh people do not get a confirm ticket daily. The other facts that came out from the survey are-

• 13% passengers are unable to get a confirm ticket daily.
• 19% passengers are not able to get confirm tickets in season.
• There are 3100 railway stations across country from where confirm tickets are very hard to acquire.
• There are as many as 2800 trains in which getting confirm tickets are next to climbing Everest without safety jacket.
• 43% passengers do not get tickets from Anand Vihar Station
• 38% passengers do not get tickets from Jammu Tawi
• 33% passengers do not get tickets from Lokmanya Tilak Terminal, Mumbai
• 28% passengers are unable to get confirm tickets from Howrah station
• 21% do not get confirm ticket on Pune and Bengaluru stations
• 20% do not get confirm tickets on Guwahati station
• 19% are unable to get confirm tickets from Chennai and Gorakhpur

After Uri attack tension between India and Pakistan is sky high and the same can be seen on the international Thar Express that runs between Jodhpur and Karanchi.

On 24th Spetember when Thar Express departed from “Bhagat Ki Kothi” there were 291 passengers on board who were travelling to Pakistan while 209 seats were vacant.

When this train came back to India on 25th September there were 505 passengers which counts to approximately double the number. The point to be noted is that there were more Indian passengers returning to India earlier than expected time. The last station in India before entering Pakistan is Munabaav and the first station in Pakistan is khokhrapaar.

South Central Railway has announced a special train between Secundrabad and Patna as Suvidha Special.

Train No. 82701 Suvidha Special from Secundrabad will depart at 08:35 hrs on October 28, 2016 on Friday and will reach Patna at 16:10 hrs on Saturday.

The decided stoppages of this Suvidha Special are Ballarshah, Nagpur, Ramagundam, Itarsi, Manikpur, Cheoki, Mirzapur, Kazipet  and Mughalsarai.

There will 10-sleeper class coach, two AC 3 tier coach and one AC 2 tier coach in this train.

371 खाली सीटों के साथ मंगलवार को शताब्दी लखनऊ से दिल्ली के लिए रवाना हो गयी थी और यात्री सीटों के लिए स्टेशन पर ही खड़े रह गए थे| उस दिन तो यात्रियों की किसी ने नहीं सुनी थी पर शिकायत दर्ज होने पर इसकी जांच के आदेश दे दिए गए हैं|

डीआरएम ने व्यावसायिक अनुभाग के अधिकारियों को इस मामले की जांच सौंपी है| जांच सौंपने के बाद अधिकारियों ने वर्तमान काउंटर के कर्मचारियों से पूछताछ की|

आपको बता दें की फीडिंग में गड़बड़ी होने की वजह से शताब्दी ना सिर्फ अपने समय से देरी से गयी बल्कि सीटें खाली होने के बावजूद यात्रियों को टिकेट नहीं मिल पाया था|

रेलवे की ओर से इलाहाबाद "हमसफ़र" और "अंत्योदय" रेल गाड़ियां देने की घोषणा हो गई है| हमसर ट्रेन 16 डिब्बों की होगी जिसमे सिर्फ तीसरी श्रेणी के वातानुकूलित डिब्बे लगाए जाएंगे जबकि अंत्योदय में 16 अनारक्षित कोच होंगे|

इसके अलावा रेलवे ने कुछ मांगो को ठुकरा भी दिया है जैसे - इलाहाबाद दुरंतो को प्रतिदिन करने की मांग, जम्मूतवी कानपूर को इलाहाबाद तक करने की मांग और इसके अलावा कानपूर के लिए शताब्दी की मांग|

कई ट्रेनों को अब इलाहाबाद जंक्शन की बजाय छिवकी से चलाया जाएगा जो एक अक्टूबर से लागू हो जाएगा|

इटारसी पैसेंजर और संघमित्रा पैसेंजर भी अब छिवकी से ही प्रस्थान करेंगी|

जिन मेमू ट्रेनों के समय में जो बदलाव आये हैं वे इस प्रकार हैं-इलाहाबाद-कानपुर मेमू 5 मिनट पहलेकानपुर-इलाहाबाद मेमू 20 मिनट पहलेइलाहाबाद-मुगलसराय मेमू 10 मिनट पहले

In a bid to take pressure off Mumbai city roads, BJP-led government is showing some intent and clearing metro projects quickly.

Two more rail corridors connecting DN Nagar to Mandale via Bandra and the other connecting Wadala to Kasarvadavli through Ghatkopar and Mulund in Thane got government nod.

Rs. 10,986 crore investment is being done for the 23.5km long Dahisar to DN Nagar, while the other 32km long corridor named as Metro 4 will cost 14,549 crore rupees.

MMRDA (Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority) will soon implement agencies for both the projects.

Work is already begun on Dahisar to DN Nagar and Dahisar East to Andheri East while remaining corridors may take another two months time to start.

Once the projects will be completed, MMRDA will have full authority to decide price of tickets. As per the current approved fare structure a minimum 10rupee ticket is the least you pay to cover first three kms and if you want to cover a distance of more than 42kms you need to pay as much 80-rupees.

The total length of Metro rail connectivity in Mumbai is 172km and till date 124km has been approved.

धनबाद समेत पांच रेलमंडल, जो पूर्व मध्य रेलवे जोन हाजीपुर के अन्तर्गत आते हैं, के रेलकर्मियों के लिए अच्छी खबर आयी है| पहले के नियमानुसार कोई भी रेलकर्मी कम से कम पांच वर्ष एक रेल मंडल में कार्य करने के पश्चात ही अपने स्थानांतरण के लिए अर्जी दे सकता था पर अब इसीआरकेयू के महामंत्री शशिकांत पांडेय के आवेदन पर रेलवे बोर्ड से इस बात के लिए हाँ हो गयी है की कोई रेलकर्मी अपनी इच्छानुसार पांच वर्ष से पहले भी स्थानांतरण के लिए आवेदन दे सकता है| 
इससे पहले ये आदेश जारी हो चुका था की रेलकर्मी अपना स्थानांतरण दूसरे जोन में बिना किसी अन्य रेलकर्मी के प्रतिस्थापन के करा सकते हैं| पहले दूसरे जोन में स्थानांतरण तभी मिलता था जब कोई उस जोन का रेलकर्मी दूसरे रेलकर्मी के जोन में आने के लिए तैयार हो| हालांकि अभी भी दूसरे जोन में स्थानांतरण आसान नहीं है क्योंकि आवेदन को कई जगहों पर जाना पड़ता है और जिस जोन में स्थानांतरण चाहिए उस जोन के जीऍम को ये स्वीकार्य होना चाइये|
ये आदेश रेलकर्मियों के लिए अतिप्रसन्नता वाला है|
