सुरेश प्रभु ने स्टेशनों के वाईफाई होने की रफ़्तार पर संतोष व्यक्त करते हुए कहा की इस वर्ष के अंत तक रेलवे 100 स्टेशनों पर वाईफाई उपलब्ध करा देगा|
रेलटेल ने गूगल से साझेदारी कर 2018 तक 400 स्टेशनों पर वाईफाई लगाने का लक्ष्य रखा है| अभी तक 50 स्टेशन को वाईफाई की सुविधा प्रदान की जा चुकी है|

You will not be able to book or cancel tickets between 00:20hrs to 04:00hrs of 30/09/2016. IRCTC has issued a notice regarding the same during which any booking or cancellation cannot be done. For those passengers, in case their train gets cancelled by Railways there will be full refund automatically. In case there is partial cancellation, route diversion or train termination in between, you need to file a TDR seventy two hours of scheduled departure of the train at passengers boarding station.

Someday somebody must have imagined that air travelling might generate more revenue than Indian railways and finally the imagination came true when revenue generated by Air Travel companies surpassed revenue of Indian Railways.

After a long recession time finally airline companies can sense some good long relief especially when railway fares are going higher and higher with every passing year.

This year air travelling generated a revenue of 1.75 lakh crore rupees while Indian railways got stuck at 1.65 lakh crore rupees.

The main hurdle for Indian railways is high fares of AC 2 tier and ever-increasing fare of AC3. AC 1 doesn’t even counted as most of travelers have some kind of travel pass.

Now, one can also say that air travelling has also become a common man’s choice especially after so many low cost airlines are chipping themselves in.

Railway is bound to increase fares as operating cost and infrastructure input is rising day by day, where comparably airlines do not need such heavy cost input infrastructure to operate. With introduction of flexi fares in high priority trains and AC 2 fares are touching fares of air travel, more and more passengers are opting air travel.

इस वर्ष घरेलू विमान कंपनियों ने भारतीय रेल से ज्यादा कमाई की| जहाँ हवाई यात्रा करने वालों की संख्या दिन प्रतिदिन बढ़ती जा रही है वहीँ भारतीय रेल में दूसरी श्रेणी वातानुकूलित में यात्रा करने वालों की संख्या घाट रही है|
भारतीय विमान कंपनियों ने इस वर्ष एक लाख पछत्तर हजार करोड़ रुपये का कारोबार किया वहीँ रेलवे ने एक लाख पैषठ हजार करोड़ रूपए का कारोबार किया है|
इससे अब ये कहा जा सकता है की विमान यात्रा अब ऊँचे वर्ग के लोगों की नहीं रही, ये अब आम लोगों की भी हो गई है|
विमान कंपनीयों के रेलवे को पीछे छोड़ने की एक वजह वातानुकूलित श्रेणी में किरायों की वृद्धि को बताया जा रहा है| दूसरे श्रेणी  के यात्री रेलवे को लगभग उतना ही किराया देने से कतरा रहे हैं जितना लगभग उन्हें हवाई कंपनियों को देना पड़ता है क्योंकि थोड़े से अधिक पैसे में वे काफी समय बचा सकते हैं और इसके अलावा उन्हें टिकट के लिए परेशान भी नहीं होना पड़ता है|
वैसे भी रेलवे में ऐसी 2 और 1 में यात्रा करने वाले यात्री कुल यात्रा करने वाले यात्रियों के मुकाबले मात्र 8.7 प्रतिशत हैं|
कुछ ही समय पहले रेलवे ने राजधानी और शताब्दी जैसी गाड़ियों में फ्लेक्सी फेयर शुरू कर दिया है जिस वजह से उनके टिकट का मूल्य और भी बढ़ गया है|

रेलवे का टेलीकॉम पिएसयू रेलटेल और गूगल की साझेदारी ने देश के 400 स्टेशनों पर तेज़ रफ़्तार डाटा कनेक्टिविटी को 2018 तक देने का वायदा तो किया है पर रेल मंत्री सुरेश प्रभु चाहते हैं की रेल टेल बिना किसी साझेदारी के देश के हर उस गाँव को डाटा कनेक्टिविटी दे जहाँ अभी बुनियादी सुविधाएं ही पहुंची हैं|
भारत के विशाल स्वरुप की वजह से अभी हर जगह डाटा कनेक्टिविटी दे पाना सरकार के लिए संभव नहीं हो सका है पर रेलटेल जिसके पास पहले से ही पूरे-भारतवर्ष में बुनियादी फाइबर-ऑप्टिक का ढांचा है, वो ये काम कर सकता है|
सरकार का मानना हे की देश के गावों में बहुत बड़ी संख्या में युवा रहते हैं जुन्हें ये सुविधा मिलनी ही चाइये|
गूगल वाईस प्रेसिडेंट राजन आनंद ने कहा की रेलटेल के साथ साझेदारी काफी रोमांचक रहने वाली है क्योंकि जब हम 2018 तक पूरे 400 स्टेशनों पर वाई फाई सुविधा स्थापित कर देंगे तो हमारी पहुँच उन 30 करोड़ भारतीयों तक आसान हो जाएगी जो इन स्टेशनों पर आते और जाते हैं|

It is said that Mumbai’s lifeline is local as is the Delhi’s lifeline has become metro. Since its service start up, Delhi Metro is constantly working on hassle free passengers travelling experience.  Initially it was only token which a traveler must purchase from the token counters to travel between stations, then for daily commuters cards became a boon to avoid long lines in front of token counters; thereafter Delhi metro started online recharge of travelling cards; then came the Paytm option and now it is the turn of Ticket operating Machine (TOM). DMRC wants to make its stations counter free, to achieve that now TOM will provide you token in case you want to travel through tokens. Only in case of emergency, you can approach customer service executive and ask for token. DMRC has already replaced manual token counters to TOM from 37 stations. Slowly, it will replace every token counter from every station with TOM, and phase 3 of metro will not have manual token counters right from the beginning.

Amid heavy rush during festive season; booking tickets from illegal IDs by agents have forced IRCTC to seize such tickets and open those seats for re-sale.

A similar incident happened to a 29-year-old passenger in Mumbai who bought her ticket from an agent but at the time of arrival, she found that her seat was occupied by other passengers. Shocked by this she immediately went to TTE to find out the reason where she came to know that her tickets were internally seized by IRCTC officials and seats which were allotted to them went for re-sale.

IRCTC has intensified their campaigns against such agents who use their personal ID to book tickets in place of IDs issued by IRCTC. Such tickets are directly seized by Indian Railways; however, the problem is that passengers who got their ticket from such agents are not informed which creates big problem for them. Since January as much as 567 tickets are seized by IRCTC officials and more than 200,000 illegal IDs are seized by IT department.

As a passenger, you must be aware of booking your ticket legally else you might face misfortune.

भारतीय रेलवे ने देश की पहली तेजस रेल गाडी का लखनऊ से आनंद विहार के बीच चलने की औपचारिक घोषणा कर दी है| इस गाडी में सिर्फ वातानुकूलित कुर्सी यान लगेगा और ये छः घंटे से कम समय में आनंद विहार पहुंचा देगी| गुरूवार को छोड़ पूरे हफ्ते ये ट्रेन लखनऊ से आनंद विहार के बीच चलेगी|

इसके अलावा गोरखपुर से अनादविहार के बीच हफ्ते के तीन दिन हमसफ़र एक्सप्रेस चलाई गयी है  जो लखनऊ होते हुए ही जाएगी| एक और हमसफ़र जो सियालदह से जम्मू तवी जाएगी वो भी लखनऊ होते हुए ही जाएगी|

• Lucknow - Anand Vihar
• Mumbai CST - Mudgaon

Railway has announced a total of three Uday trains:

• Coimbatore – Bengaluru via Salem
• Vishakhapatnam – Vijaywada
• Bandra – Jamnagar via Surat
