लंबे समय से प्लेट फॉर्म नंबर-6 के उद्घाटन का इंतजार कर रहे शहरवासियों के लिए शनिवार का दिन बेहद खास रहा। रेलवे के समस्त कर्मचारियों एवं आम जनता की उपस्थित के बीच नगरीय प्रशासन मंत्री बाबूलाल गौर, सांसद कैलाश जोशी और डीआरएम राजीव चौधरी ने प्लेट फॉर्म नं-6 का उद्घाटन किया। इस मौके पर रेलवे के राष्ट्रीय समिति के सदस्य गोविंद गोयल भी मौजूद रहे।

इस दौरान नगरीय प्रशासन मंत्री बाबूलाल गौर ने कहा कि ड्राइव-इन प्लेट फॉर्म के शुरू हो जाने से यात्रियों के ट्रेन के कोच तक पहुंचने में आसानी होगी। अब यात्री अपनी गाडिय़ों से उतरकर सीधे कोच तक पहुंच सकेंगे। मौके पर मौजूद सांसद कैलाश जोशी ने कहा कि इस प्लेट फॉर्म के शुरू हो जाने के बाद भी ऐसी तीन मांगे और है जिन पर उन्हें काम करना है।

इन मांगों में शताब्दी को हबीबगंज तक लाना, डबल डेकर ट्रेन चलवाना एवं बैरागढ़ स्टेशन को भोपाल रेल मंडल में जोडऩा शामिल है। समारोह को डीआरएम सहित उपस्थित अन्य अतिथियों ने भी संबोधित किया।

गौरतलब है कि शताब्दी एक्सप्रेस का संचालन भी अब यहीं से होगा।

हालांकि इस प्लेटफॉर्म की शुरुआत चार महीने पहले हो चुकी थी।

फिलहाल यहां से 8 ट्रेनें चल रही हैं।

COLOMBO: The Sri Lankan government on Saturday resumed railway services after six years between the capital and a town devastated by the civil war, officials said.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa launched the train service linking capital Colombo to Kilinochchi town, reported Xinhua.

Kilinochchi was the de-facto capital of the rebels during the war.

Rebel leaders operated from the area and taxed goods being transported along the road via the rebel town.

During the Sri Lankan civil war, the railway line between Colombo and the town of Jaffna, including Kilinochchi, was completely damaged.

Following the truce with Tamil Tiger rebels in May 2009, the railway track between Colombo and Omanthai, also in the north, was reconstructed with Indian assistance and now it has been extended to Kilinochchi.

Next, reconstruction of the railway track would be extended to Jaffna to re-link the north and the south by rail network.

The opening of the railway route comes as the minority Tamil, who dominate the north, prepare to go to the polls this month for the first time in more than 20 years to elect a provincial council.

The Computerised Passenger Reservation Centres in Chennai Division of Southern Railway will function for one shift, similar to Sunday pattern of working (08.00 hrs. to 14.00 hrs) on 16.09.2013 (Monday) on account of ‘Onam’ festival.

SPECIAL TRAINS
The following weekly superfast special trains will be run to clear the extra rush of passengers during Pujaholidays.

Kamakhya – Yesvantpur - Kamakhya (via) Chennai Central Weekly Superfast Specials: T.No.02552 Kamakhya – Yesvantpur Weekly Superfast Special will leave Kamakhya at 14.00 hrs. on 2nd,9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th October 2013 and 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th November 2013 (Wednesdays), leave Chennai Centralat11.40 hrs. on Fridays and arrive Yesvantpur at 18.30 hrs. on Fridays.

T.No.02551 Yesvantpur - Kamakhya Weekly Superfast Special will leave Yesvantpur at 08.30 hrs. on 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th October 2013 and 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th November 2013 (Saturdays), leave Chennai Central at 16.10 hrs. on Saturdays and arriveKamakhya at 13.30 hrs. on Mondays.

The composition of the trains will be 1 First AC-cum-AC 2 tier, 1 AC 2-tier, 1 AC3-tier, 6 Sleeper Class, 6 General Second Class and 2 luggage-cum-brake van coaches.

The trains will stop at Rangiya, New Bongaigaon, New Alipurduar, New Coochbehar, New Jalpaiguri, Kishanganj, Barsoi, Malda Town, Rampurhat, Durgapur, Asansol, Adra, Bankura, Midnapur, Hijilli, Balasore, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road, Brahmapur, Palasa, Vizianagaram, Duvvada, Samalkot,Vijayawada, New Guntur, Gudur, Chennai Central and Katpadi.

Advance reservation for the above trains are open.

BANGALORE: Chief minister Siddaramaiah explored additional funding from Japan for infrastructure corridors and high-speed rail projects in Bangalore during meetings at the World Economic Forum in Dalian, China.After the plenary session on Thursday, Siddaramaiah met Japanese science and technology minister Hakubun Shimomura and discussed partnerships in IT, space, food and education sectors."He invited Shimomura to visit Bangalore for a first-hand view of the phenomenal growth of the software industry in India's tech hub. They explored additional funding from Japan for infrastructure corridors and high-speed rail projects,'' said a senior official who is part of the 22-member team led by the CM. Later, the CM called on WEF executive chairman Klaus Schwab and discussed expansion of the forum's activities in the state.Earlier in the day, Siddaramaiah visited Dalian port which can handle 1.7 million tonnes of foodgrains with hi-tech storage facility and rail connectivity.

AHMEDABAD: The railway board has given the green signal for a third Rajdhani Express to run between Mumbai and Delhi. The train will be launched from Diwali and will also halt at Vadodara. This was decided at a meeting held recently in Vadodara attended by member (traffic) of the board and chief operating managers from all over India.

The Rajdhani will be particularly useful for people making frequent business trips to Delhi as airfares for a Mumbai-Delhi trip have touched Rs 10,000. Interestingly, the engine of the third Rajdhani will carry a painting of Amul Milk.

The train will have 24 compartments, of which 12 will be AC-III coaches. The rest 12 coaches will have an equal number of AC-I and AC-II compartments. There will be no side cars in the super deluxe AC coaches which will make the journey a lot more comfortable. The bathrooms of the train will be designed afresh to add to the luxury of the train.

Railway website to show waiting list earlier

Customers often complain about non-availability of seats in trains. To take care of this, the railway board will soon introduce a new feature on the IRCTC website which will now provide passengers information about the waiting list 20 days before the date of journey. This will help travellers decide whether passengers in the waiting list will be able to get travelling tickets or not. As is the case with air tickets, the railway tickets yet to be allotted will be auctioned in phases.

Karnavati Express to get LSB coaches

Travelling in Karnavati express is going to become more luxurious as several coaches of the train between Ahmedabad and Mumbai are going to be replaced by LSB coaches which are generally given to trains like Rajdhani and Shatabdi. "The coaches have reached the city but the power cart is yet to arrive." said a railway official. The replacing the coaches is going to take place in the days to come.

जयपुर। शाम सवा पांच बजे गुलाबी मेट्रो जैसे ही मानसरोवर डिपो से रैम्प पर चढ़ी, मौजूद कार्मिकों एवं लोगों ने तालियों से उसका स्वागत किया।

मानसरोवर डिपो, रैम्प एवं मानसरोवर स्टेशन पर मेट्रो की अलग-अलग पूजा कर हर किसी ने उसके सफल संचालन की कामना की।

शाम छह बजे बाद जब मेट्रो मानसरोवर स्टेशन से श्याम नगर मेट्रो के लिए रवाना हुई तो उसे देखने के लिए सड़कों एवं इमारतों पर लोगों की भीड़ जमा हो गई।

ऎलिवेटेड कॉरिडोर पर मेट्रो को चलता देखने का सपना साकार होते देख लोग उत्साहित हो गए और अपने मोबाइल एवं कैमरे में मेट्रो की फोटो कैद करते नजर आए। बच्चे, बुजुर्ग, महिला, युवा सभी उत्साह के साथ मेट्रो दौड़ता देखते रहे।

GUWAHATI, Sept 13 – Chief  Minister Tarun Gogoi today asked the agitationists to withdraw road and rail blockades immediately otherwise the Government will be compelled to take appropriate steps.
In a statement here today, Gogoi said the Government cannot remain a passive spectator to the series of road and rail blockades which have caused great inconvenience to the people and put a spanner in the wheels of development.
“We cannot allow the situation to deteriorate further. The rail and road blockades caused great miseries and hardships to the people and affected the economy. Such agitations are detrimental to the State’s march towards the path of development and we cannot allow this to continue,” he said.

PUNE: The Pune division of Central Railway registered an increase in passenger fare earnings in first five months (April to August) of the current year as against earnings registered last year in the same period.

An official from the Pune division said the earnings increased by 6 per cent. In five months ended on August 2013 the division registered earnings of Rs. 230.77 crore, as against last year’s earnings of Rs.217.14 crore, an increase of Rs.13.63 crore.

Prominent stations like Pune, Khadki, Kolhapur, Satara, Miraj and Chinchwad fall under the Pune division which always witness rush of passengers, said an official. The administration has undertaken steps to increase passenger amenities at stations on Pune-Lonavla and Pune-Kolhapur tracks, he said.

The official said that parking slots for visitors have been started recently at the Shivajinagar and Chinchwad stations. One additional parking slot is proposed at the Pune station to benefit daily commuters and people who come to the station to see of friends and relatives.

The officials said that the administration has initiated ticket checking drive at prominent stations. Action is being taken against illegal travel which included ticketless travel in trains, entering railway stations without valid tickets and unbooked luggage. More than 5,000 cases have been booked by the administration pertaining to illegal travel in last five months in Pune division.

सहारनपुर दिल्ली के बीच के बीच बहुप्रतिक्षित नई एक्सप्रेस ट्रेन के संचालन पर जिले के व्यापारियों व उद्यमियों ने हर्ष जताया है। ट्रेन के प्रथम बार सहारनपुर आगमन पर भव्य स्वागत का किया जायेगा।
इंडियन इंडस्ट्रीज एसोसिएशन की कार्यालय पर आयोजित बैठक में अंबाला दिल्ली के बीच नई एक्सप्रेस ट्रेन के संचालन में अहम भूमिका निभाने पर सांसद जगदीश राणा का आभार जताया गया। वरिष्ठ उपाध्यक्ष हरजीत सिंह ने कहा कि लंबे इंतजार के बाद सहारनपुर दिल्ली के बीच एक्सप्रेस ट्रेन की सौगात मिली है। उन्होंने बताया कि अंबाला में ट्रेन का ट्रायल सुबह 11 बजे डीआरएम अनिल कठपाल द्वारा हरी झंडी दिखाकर किया जायेगा। पहले दिन यह ट्रेन दोपहर 12.40 बजे सहारनपुर पहुंचेगी जहां उसका स्वागत किया जायेगा। महासचिव शलभ राय, अशोक छाबड़ा ने सांसद जगदीश राणा व स्टेशन अधीक्षक अरविंद शर्मा का आभार जताते हुए कहा कि यह ट्रेन बराड़ा, जगाधरी वर्कशाप व जगाधरी, सहारनपुर, मुजफ्फरनगर, मेरठ सिटी, मोदीनगर, गाजियाबाद, शाहदरा होते हुए दिल्ली तक जायेगी। इस अवसर पर अनिल अग्रवाल, दीपक अरोड़ा, अबुबकर सिद्दीकी, संदीप कपूर, तिलकराज, मेहरबान, विनोद अरोड़ा, राजेश गुप्ता, विवेक चावला, नंदकिशोर आदि उपस्थित रहे। उधर, सहारनपुर उद्योग व्यापार प्रतिनिधि मंडल अध्यक्ष विवेक मनोचा ने दिल्ली मार्ग पर नई ट्रेन का संचालन शुरू कराए जाने पर सांसद जगदीश राणा का आभार जताया। साथ ही शनिवार को ट्रेन चालक दल के सदस्यों के स्वागत में स्टेशन पहुंचने का आह्वान किया। मंडल रेलवे उपभोक्ता सुझाव समिति सदस्य अनिल शर्मा व उत्तर रेलवे बोर्ड सलाहकार समिति सदस्य सतपाल कालड़ा ने भी सांसद जगदीश राणा का नई ट्रेन के संचालन पर आभार जताया है।
