MUMBAI: Western Railway h as decided to speed up 19 long distance trains from July 1, 2013 by 5 minutes to 75 minutes. The timings of 29 trains have been advanced the departure time by 5 minutes or more on originating stations. WR spokesperson said, "Train No. 22901 Bandra (T) - Udaipur Express will be speeded up by 40 minutes and 59426 Palanpur-Bhuj Express speeded up by 55 minutes. Apart from this, Train No. 15668 Kamakhya-Gandhidham Express has also been speeded up by 75 minutes. He further said that Train No. 12909 Garib Rath and 12247 Yuva Express will now depart from Bandra (T) at 4 .50 pm instead of 4.55 pm before its existing time from 1st July, 2013. Similarly, timings of some trains at enroute stations have also been changed slightly. Passengers are requested to take note of the change in timings. WR has uploaded the details of change in timings of its long distance trains on its website www.wr.indianrailways.gov.in.

WR official said, "The decision to revise the timings has been taken due to operational and practical reasons. We want ensure optimum utilization of the path available to run these services. The changes have also been made because of demand from passengers."

MUMBAI: Commuters to tiny hill station will be able to travel in toy train during the monsoon as the CR will continue to run shuttle service between 3 km long Aman Lodge and Matheran station. However, CR has discontinued the regular services on the Neral-Matheran section for passenger traffic due to monsoon with immediate effect. A CR spokesperson said, " However, 14 daily shuttle services between Matheran and Aman Lodge will be run during the monsoon season. The journey time in Up and Down direction on this stretch is 15 minutes." The service from Matheran to Aman Lodge will depart at 9 am, 10 am, 11.05 am, 11.55 am, 1 pm, 2.15 pm and 3.30 pm. On its return journey, train from Aman Lodge will leave at 9.30 am, 10.30 am, 11.30 am, 12.25 pm, 1.25 pm, 2.40 pm and 3.50 pm CR began running shuttle services on a 3 km long stretch between Aman Lodge and Matheran from Sept 2012 onwards- a first in monsoon. The decision has proved to major boost for tourism industry in Matheran. The train also helps locals inhabitants to transfer provision to the hill station, where motorized vehicular transport is banned. People have to make use to handcart or horse to ferry goods.

नकोदर, फिरोजपुर और पठानकोट रूट पर डीएमयू में चलनेवाले यात्रियों को अगले पंद्रह दिन और भीड़भाड़ झेलनी होगी। इन रूट पर चलने वाली डीएमयू में कोच बढ़ाने की मांग उठने के बाद दैनिक भास्कर ने यह पड़ताल की कि आखिर रेलवे यात्रियों की समस्या पर गौर क्यों नहीं कर रहा। पता चला है कि डिवीजन में डीएमयू के पावर इंजन की शॉर्टेज है।
एक पावर इंजन कोच तीन ही डिब्बे खींच सकता है। डिवीजन में डिब्बे तो पर्याप्त हैं, लेकिन पावर इंजन के लिए डिमांड भेजी गई है। साउथ ईस्टर्न रेलवे की ओर से पावर कोच जालंधर भेजा रहा है। दो पावर कोच के साथ चार डिब्बे भी आ रहे हैं। यही नहीं, डीएमयू शेड ने सीएमओ को डीएमयू को डीजल इंजन लगाकर चलाने का भी प्रस्ताव दिया है।
तीन रूट पर ज्यादा समस्या पठानकोट, नकोदर ट्रैक पर केवल तीन कोच वाली डीएमयू चलाई जा रही है। जिसके चलते यात्रियों को काफी परेशानी का सामना करना पड़ रहा है।  नकोदर रूट पर तो लोगों ने शुक्रवार को प्रदर्शन भी किया था। पठानकोट जाने वाली एक डीएमयू में छह कोच लगाए जा सकते हैं। लेकिन अभी तीन ही लगे हैं। कारण पावर इंजन का न होना। फिरोजपुर जाने वाली सिक्स कोच डीएमयू की जगह थ्री कोच डीएमयू चलाई जा रही है।
फिरोजपुर रूट पर ज्यादा डीएमयू
जालंधर से फिरोजपुर सेक्शन में सबसे अधिक दस अप और डाउन की डीएमयू चलती है। जालंधर-होशियारपुर सेक्शन में नौ अप-डाउन डीएमयू चलती है। जालंधर जेजो सेक्शन में तीन अप-डाउन, जालंधर-पठानकोट सेक्शन में पांच अप-डाउन और जालंधर-नकोदर सेक्शन में चार अप-डान डीएमयू चलती है। जिनमें अक्सर भीड़ ही होती है।
जरूरत ४० पावर की, हैं सिर्फ ३३ जालंधर के डीएमयू शेड में इस समय मात्र 33 पावर कोच है। जबकि जरूरत 40 पावर कोच की है। जब पावर कोच अधिक होते हैं तो डीएमयू के दोनों तरफ लगाकर अधिक डिब्बे लगा दिए जाते हैं। अधिकारियों ने बताया कि चारबाग वर्कशाप में भी सात पावर कोच को ओवरहॉलिंग के लिए भेजा गया है। वह भी 15 दिन के भीतर जालंधर पहुंच जाएंगे। तो समस्या का समाधान हो जाएगा।
अभी बाकी है सावन का मेला
होशियारपुर ट्रैक पर अभी तो तीन कोच की डीएमयू से काम चल जा रहा है, लेकिन अगले महीने सावन में जब चाले शुरू होंगे और माता चिंतपूर्णी के दर्शन के लिए लोग जत्थों में जाना शुरू करेंगे, तो भीड़ चरम पर पहुंच जाएगी। तब नौबत यह आ जाती है कि लोग ट्रेन की छतों पर सफर करते हैं। छह डिब्बे लगा दिए जाने पर भी जगह कम पड़ जाती है।

हर साल 1 जुलाई से रेलवे के टाइम टेबल बदले जाने में पानीपत की 13 ट्रेनों के समय में भी परिवर्तन किया गया है। इसमें दिल्ली, अमृतसर, जम्मू, पठानकोट,बटिंडा, चंडीगढ़, उधमपुर, अजमेर और इलाहाबाद आदि की ट्रेनें शामिल हैं। इनमें कुछ स्पेशल ट्रेनें भी हैं। यहां से जिन ट्रेनों में बदलाव किया गया है, उनमें अमृतसर और चंडीगढ़ के ट्रेनों की संख्या ज्यादा है। साथ ही कई ऐसी ट्रेने हैं, जिनके समय में एक से दो मिनट का मामूली बदलाव किया गया है।
रेलवे की ओर से समय सारिणी में बदलाव यात्रियों की सुविधा और ट्रेनों की संख्या बढ़ने से रूट को नियंत्रित करने के लिए किया जाता है। साथ ही रेलवे अपनी आमदनी को देखकर भी ऐसा कदम उठाता है। जैसे अगर किसी ट्रैक पर यात्रियों की संख्या कम है, तो उसपर सीमित ट्रेन की सुविधा दी जाती है। अगर किसी ट्रैक पर यात्रियों की संख्या बहुत ज्यादा है,तो उसपर ट्रेनों की संख्या को बढ़ा दिया जाता है। इसके कारण रेलवे को आमदनी भी होती है और यात्रियों को सुविधा भी मिलती है।

Mohali: Passengers on board the Nangal-Ambala passenger train had to wait for over four hours at the Mohali railway station after the train developed a snag.The driver of the train Suresh Kumar applied brakes when he noticed smoke coming out of wheels of the engine and the front bogey at 9.40 am.More than 400 passengers were on board the train when the incident took place. A new engine was requisitioned from Chandigarh.“I have to go to Ambala to meet my relative. But the delay has upset my schedule,” said Jamna, a resident of Kiratpur Sahib.Ropar resident Hira Lal said: “I have to go to Ambala, but I will have to reschedule my programme.”The train resumed its journey around 2 pm.

The former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda on Saturday demanded that the Ministry of Railways take up construction of a new railway station near the KSRTC bus-stand in Hassan, considering the city’s growth.He spoke to journalists after interacting with Railway officers on the long-pending projects in Hassan district.“After a long time, we have a Railway Minister from Karnataka. I hope M. Mallikarjun Kharge will address issues pertaining to pending projects in Karnataka. I have appealed him to give due attention to projects related to Hassan,” he said.Mr. Gowda said land had been allotted to the Railways for the construction of the station. The work should start soon. “I am ready to talk to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on releasing the State government’s share of funds for the work. A flyover needs to be constructed to avoid regular traffic congestion at the level-crossing in the city,” he said.Mr. Gowda, along with Railway officers inspected the land notified for the railway station and the site of the proposed flyover. Senior officers of the Mysore Division of South Western Railway, MLAs H.D. Revanna and H.S. Prakash and MLC Patel Shivaram were also present.

Members of the Northern Railwaymen's Union (NMRU) held a protest outside the office of carriage and wagon at the railway station today.A large number of employees joined the protesters and took out a rally.The union leaders said they were forced to protest against the carriage depot officer (CDO), SK Sharma, as he was not addressing their problems.Ashok Kumar, divisional secretary, NRMU, said the union members had decided to gherao the carriage and wagon department.The members said the CDO was deputing Grade I technicians as peons with inspectors in the C&W department which was against the rules.Another union leader said as many as 567 posts were lying vacant in the department.Paramjit Singh, president, NRMU, said, "If the CDO will not revoke his decision, the union will intensify the agitation."

जागरण संवाददाता, वाराणसी : रेलवे ने एक जुलाई से कैंट रेलवे स्टेशन से टेनों के समय सारिणी में कुछ फेरबदल किया है। जिसमें र}ागिरि, बुंदेलखंड व मरुधर एक्सप्रेस समेत एक दर्जन से अधिक गाड़ियां 5 से 15 मिनट पहले रवाना की जाएंगी। 1कैंट रेलवे स्टेशन प्रबंधक एके पांडेय ने बताया कि र}ागिरि अब 5 मिनट पहले यानी रात 8:20 बजे, बुंदेलखंड 20 मिनट पहले यानी शाम 5:45 बजे और गुरुवार को जाने वाली मरुधर एक्सप्रेस आधे घंटे बाद यानी शाम 6:15 बजे जाएगी। 1वहीं दूसरी ओर वाराणसी से नई दिल्ली के बीच चलने वाली काशिराज एक्सप्रेस अब 15 जुलाई तक चलेगी। इस ट्रेन का परिचालन 30 जून तक ही होना था, ंिकंतु यात्रियों की भीड़ को देखते हुए अब यह 15 जुलाई तक चलाई जाएगी। इसी तरह वाराणसी-उधमपुर स्पेशल ट्रेन भी 17 जुलाई तक चलेगी।

MUMBAI: Central Railway has decided to revise the timings of Electrical Multiple Unit to Pune and long distance services to various parts of the country from July 1 onwards due to operational and practical reasons. CR said that it has rescheduled the timings of four EMU services, including two Pune-Lonavala service and one Lonavala-Pune as well as Shivaji Nagar -Lonavala service. From July 1, train no. 99825 Lonavala-Pune EMU service will now depart at 7.32 pm instead of 7.35 pm. This train will henceforth arrive at Pune at 8.55 pm instead of 8.52 pm. Likewise, Train No. 99814 service will depart from Shivaji Nagar to Pune at 12.25 pm instead of 10.50 am. At Pune, this train will arrive at 12.35 insteadof 11.20. CR said that 9.05 pm local from Pune will depart at 8.57 pm and reach Lonavala at 10.17 instead of 10.25. Likewise, another the departure time of another train from Pune to same destination has been revised from 8 pm to 8.05 pm and reach Lonavala at 9.25. The timings of Karjat-Pune and Pune-Karjat Passenger train has been changed. The train will now depart from Karjat at 3.10 pm. The same train will depart from Pune at11.15 am instead of 10.45 am Among the long distance trains, Nagpur-Mumbai Duronto will leave at 8.40 pm instead of 8.50 pm. CR said revised timings of all the important trains can be seen on their website www.cr.indian railways.gov.in/
