हर साल 1 जुलाई से रेलवे के टाइम टेबल बदले जाने में पानीपत की 13 ट्रेनों के समय में भी परिवर्तन किया गया है। इसमें दिल्ली, अमृतसर, जम्मू, पठानकोट,बटिंडा, चंडीगढ़, उधमपुर, अजमेर और इलाहाबाद आदि की ट्रेनें शामिल हैं। इनमें कुछ स्पेशल ट्रेनें भी हैं। यहां से जिन ट्रेनों में बदलाव किया गया है, उनमें अमृतसर और चंडीगढ़ के ट्रेनों की संख्या ज्यादा है। साथ ही कई ऐसी ट्रेने हैं, जिनके समय में एक से दो मिनट का मामूली बदलाव किया गया है।
रेलवे की ओर से समय सारिणी में बदलाव यात्रियों की सुविधा और ट्रेनों की संख्या बढ़ने से रूट को नियंत्रित करने के लिए किया जाता है। साथ ही रेलवे अपनी आमदनी को देखकर भी ऐसा कदम उठाता है। जैसे अगर किसी ट्रैक पर यात्रियों की संख्या कम है, तो उसपर सीमित ट्रेन की सुविधा दी जाती है। अगर किसी ट्रैक पर यात्रियों की संख्या बहुत ज्यादा है,तो उसपर ट्रेनों की संख्या को बढ़ा दिया जाता है। इसके कारण रेलवे को आमदनी भी होती है और यात्रियों को सुविधा भी मिलती है।

Indian exporters are a harried lot as goods worth around Rs 200 crore are awaiting export to Pakistan through the rail route at the cargo facility here due to non-availability of wagons.While the traders have been blaming the Railways, the latter argued “the matter was never brought to its notice”.Talking to The Tribune, leading exporter Rajesh Setia said, “For the last one month, the Railways has been sending 34 empty wagons from the Attari railway station to Pakistan as part of an interchange exercise. These could well have carried our goods.Setia said they had also demanded 20 wagons, instead of the present 14, in the Samjhauta Express. “Let alone increasing the number, the Railways decreased it to 12, leaving the traders high and dry.” He said they had got a mere 15 Pakistani wagons a couple of days back and 34 a week ago, but all were in a rickety condition.

He said they could not even shift trade to the road route as the items they had been exporting were not permitted through that medium. Among them are spices, grocery items, dyes, seed and clothes. He alleged the railway officials were neither attending their phone calls nor responding to their mails.

Flaying the "dictatorial attitude" of the Railways, he alleged it appeared least bothered about the bilateral trade.

Another prominent trader, Rajdeep Uppal, said the entire infrastructure at the rail cargo facility in Amritsar was in a shambles. He said ever since the India-Pakistan trade gained momentum, all agencies barring the Railways had contributed in one way or the other.

“There is absolutely no infrastructure. The godowns are in a mess while there aren't any roads. There are no security measures in place despite the fact that the rail cargo facility witnessed major drug recoveries last year that included 150-kg heroin,” he added.

Earlier, exporters Rajesh Setia, Mukesh Sindhwani, Rajdeep Uppal, Dalip Singh, Jaspal Singh and Bhupinder Singh held a meeting and demanded that 34 Indian wagons parked at Attari be provided for loading export cargo.

On the other hand, Divisional Railway Manager NC Goyal said the matter had never been brought to his notice. He also denied receiving any mail or phone call from the aggrieved traders.

Incidentally, this is not the first time that the exporters are facing such a trouble. In November last, goods worth Rs 600 crore were held up at the rail cargo facility as Pakistani traders had stopped cement export to India in view of repeated seizures of heroin. It had led to a decline in the arrival of rail wagons from the neighbouring nation while the availability of Indian wagons too was inadequate.

Ludhiana:
Members of the Northern Railwaymen's Union (NMRU) held a protest outside the office of carriage and wagon at the railway station today.A large number of employees joined the protesters and took out a rally.The union leaders said they were forced to protest against the carriage depot officer (CDO), SK Sharma, as he was not addressing their problems.Ashok Kumar, divisional secretary, NRMU, said the union members had decided to gherao the carriage and wagon department.The members said the CDO was deputing Grade I technicians as peons with inspectors in the C&W department which was against the rules.Another union leader said as many as 567 posts were lying vacant in the department.Paramjit Singh, president, NRMU, said, "If the CDO will not revoke his decision, the union will intensify the agitation."

MUMBAI: Central Railway will introduce 12 new long distance train services, including 8 linking Mumbai from July 1 onwards. The railways have also decided extend the destinations of some mail/express trains due to popular demand. Of eight services from Mumbai, 7 are from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT). It also includes a the much awaited LTT-Hazrat Nizamuddin Air Conditioned Weekly special service. This train with 16-coach will depart from LTT and Hazrat Nizamuddin on every Tuesday and Wednesday. Among the new services from Mumbai are LTT- Karaikal Weekly Express via Wadi-Chennai Egmore-Nagapattinam-Nagore, LTT -Ajni(Nagpur) Weekly Express via Akola-Hingoli Aurangabad-Manmad, LTT- Nizamabad Weekly Express via Mudkhed-Nanded-Purna-Aurangabad-Manmad, CST-Solapur Daily Express via Thane-Panvel-Karjat-Pune, LTT-Kochuveli Bi-weekly Weekly via Madgaon-Mangalore Jn - Kottayam, LTT-Kakinada Bi- Weekly Express via Guntur-Nadikude-Nalgunda-Secunderabad-Wadi. The pilgrimage town of Shirdi has also become a popular destination and railways have to cash in on this trend by introducing a few more services to cater to Sai Baba devotees. CR official said, "We have decided to run Sainagar Shirdi - Kalka Bi-Weekly Express via Hazrat Nizamuddin-Bhopal-Itarsi-Khandwa. Another services linking Sainagar Shirdi to Puri via Sambalpur-Titlagarh-Raipur-Nagpur-Bhusawal has also been scheduled on weekly basis." Railways have also decided to extend Mumbai-Latur Express to Hazur Sahib Nanded. Morever, LTT-Bhubaneswar Express (Weekly) will now run upto Puri and LTT-Darbhanga Karma Bhoomi Express has been extended utp Raxaul.

In a minor mishap that luckily did not turn into a disaster, six engine wheels of 12264 Hazrat Nizamuddin-Pune Duro-nto Express, on its way to Pune, derailed after a boulder fell on the tracks between Thakurwadia and Monkey Hill section near Khandala early on Friday morning. The incident took place at around 6.08 am in the Mumbai division of the Central Railway. However, there were no cases of injuries to passengers or traffic congestion on the railway lines as a third railway track was available for other trains. Once the incident was reported by the driver, divisional railway manager of Mumbai division Mukesh Nigam, along with other railway officials, including track engineers, rushed to the spot and supervised the re-railing operations. A few officials from the railway protection force also accompanied Mr Nigam. “The train was hauled back with an assisting engine and it resumed its journey to Pune at around 10.35 am. The derailed engine was re-railed at 11.20 am,” stated a Central Railway press release. It added that due to the incident, 12263 Pune-Hazrat Nizamuddin Duranto was rescheduled and left Pune at around 7.50 pm, instead of 11.10 am on Friday. The CR also opened a helpline at Pune and Mumbai and a special booth was opened at Pune to disseminate information. A senior CR official said, “We carried out a thorough inspection of tracks and the terrain around it before the monsoon, especially the area adjacent to the Ghats. However, we have not developed a mechanism by which a landslide can be predicted.” Passengers who esca-ped unscathed on Friday demanded a thorough supervision of the tracks. “The boulders could have fallen on the running train. The railway administration should consider it to be a wake up call and should again start monitoring tracks that especially run through the Ghats,” said Subhash Gupta, a Zonal Railway Users Consultative Committee (ZRUCC) member of Central Railway.

Chandigarh:
To get the maximum refund on the cancellation of reserved tickets, the railway passengers will now have to present their tickets at the reservation counter 48 hours before the start of journey, instead of the existing norm of 24 hours.The minimum cancellation charges in such a case will be Rs 120 for AC first class or executive class, Rs 100 for AC-II tier or first class, Rs 90 for AC III-tier, economy and chair car, Rs 60 for sleeper class and Rs 30 for second class per passenger.The Railway Ministry has revised the cancellation and refund norms after around 15 years. The new rules will come into effect from July 1.Those getting their tickets cancelled within 48 hours but at least six hours before the departure of the train will have to forfeit 25 per cent of the fare amount as cancellation charges. The existing time limit for the same amount of fare deduction is between 24 hours to four hours before the scheduled departure of the train.As per the new policy, if the passenger presents his ticket for cancellation within six hours before the scheduled departure of the train and up to two hours after its actual departure, the cancellation charges would be 50 per cent of the fare.According to the new rules, no refund will be given on the cancellation of reserved tickets, if these are surrendered two hours after the train’s actual departure.In case of unforeseen circumstances, including a strike or a natural calamity, the time for claiming refund has been reduced from existing 90 days to 10 days after the train’s departure.

MUMBAI: In a special humanitarian gesture, Railway Women's Welfare Central Organization (RWWCO), a noted voluntary organization of the wives of Indian Railway officers, has come forward to make a donation to Prime Minister's National Relief Fund for extending help in the rehabilitation of the flood victims of Uttarakhand. The Minister of Railways, Mallikarjun Kharge received a cheque of Rs.10 lakh for this noble cause from Poonam Mittal, President, RWWCO, here today. RWWCO's General Secretary, Samidha Gupta and Treasurer Amita Chauhan were also present on the occasion. While the primary concern of the RWWCO is the welfare of Railway employees and their families, it has also risen to the call of the society and the nation - be it environmental awareness, family welfare drives, disturbances on the borders or the natural calamities. With a very modest start about 48 years ago, RWWCO today has gained importance as one of the foremost voluntary organisations functioning in the country.

A PIB release stated, 'Broad activities of RWWCO are to run nursery schools, vocational training centres to contribute to national cause of education and literacy amongst women and children, to encourage children through competitions in sports, essay writing, drawing and painting etc. on All India Railway leve."

The organization also provides financial assistance to children of low-paid railway employees for studies in engineering, medical and other academic courses by way of giving scholarships and educational assistance. The organization also runs craft centre for imparting training in tailoring and crafts to wives/daughters of railway staff and masala/craft centres to provide gainful employment to women. Besides RWWCO also organizes awareness drives about environmental pollution, family welfare, AIDS etc. as well as also provides financial assistance to railway employees and their families in sickness and distress cases.

BATHINDA: A policeman died and another injured when their car collided with a train at an unmanned railway crossing near Jassi Bag Wali village in Bathinda district. Constable Surinderpal Singh was killed and assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Mukhtiar Singh was seriously injured as their Maruti Alto car rammed a goods train coming to Bathinda from Dabwali town in Haryana.Mukhtiar has been admitted to a hospital in Bathinda. The policemen were going to Baadi village in connection with some case when the accident took place. Eyewitnesses said the car got dragged for about 100 metres on the rail track after it hit the train.Surinderpal belonged Lahura village in Muktsar district. GRP incharge, Kuljit Singh, said railway police were looking into the incident.

मुंबई. मंगलवार से एलटीटी-हजरत निजामुद्दीन के बीच एसी सुपरफास्ट सेवा (साप्ताहिक गाड़ी) की शुरुआत हो रही है. राजधानी की तर्ज पर शुरू की जा रही यह गाड़ी हर मंगलवार को दिन में 2.30 बजे एलटीटी तथा हर बुधवार को अपराह्न 3.50 बजे निजामुद्दीन से छूटेगी. यह गाड़ी (22109-22110) बुधवार सुबह 10.20 बजे निजामुद्दीन पहुंचेगी. वापसी में गुरुवार को 11.50 बजे एलटीटी आएगी.

एलटीटी-निजामुद्दीन के बीच इस गाड़ी को मात्र 6 हाल्ट (नासिक, भुसावल, भोपाल, झांसी, ग्वालियर और आगरा कैंट) दिए गए हैं. जिसमें एसी थर्ड के 10, एसी सेकेंड के 3 तथा एसी फस्र्ट के एक डिब्बे का समावेश होगा. 16 डिब्बे की इस गाड़ी में दो एसएलआर सह जनरेटर होंगे.  इस रूट से दिल्ली के लिए अभी तक की सबसे फास्ट गाड़ी एलटीटी हरिद्वार एसी सुपरफास्ट है, जो 23 घंटे 15 मिनट में एलटीटी से दिल्ली पहुंचती है. मंगलवार से शुरू हो रही एलटीटी-हजरत निजामुद्दीन एसी सुपरफास्ट लगभग 20 घंटे में यह दूरी तय कर लेगी. मध्य रेलवे के जनसंपर्क अधिकारी ए. के. सिंह की मानें तो इस गाड़ी के शुरू होने से सेंट्रल रूट के लोगों को काफी सुविधा होगी.

कल्याण में हाल्ट नहीं

इस गाड़ी को कल्याण में हाल्ट न दिए जाने से आसपास के लोगों को काफी निराशा हुई है. अग्रवाल समाज,  कल्याण के अनिल गर्ग और जितेन्द्र गुप्ता ने इस गाड़ी को कल्याण स्टेशन पर भी हाल्ट दिए जाने की मांग करते हुए कहा कि इससे न केवल ठाणे, नवी मुम्बई, बदलापुर, कर्जत, कसारा व आसपास के लोगों को सुविधा होगी, बल्कि पुणे के लोगों को भी काफी आसानी होगी.

आंदोलन की चेतावनी

यात्री सेवा सुविधा संगठन के प्रमुख पारसनाथ तिवारी ने कहा कि अगर इस गाड़ी को कल्याण में हाल्ट नहीं दिया जाएगा, तो तीव्र आंदोलन छेड़ा जाएगा. बकौल तिवारी कल्याण व आसपास के लोगों को गाड़ी पकडऩे के लिए अगर एलटीटी जाना पड़ेगा, तो लोग इस गाड़ी की अपेक्षा थोड़ा और आगे जाकर मुम्बई सेंट्रल से राजधानी पकडऩा ज्यादा पसंद करेंगे.

टाटा की बिजली महंगी

टाटा पॉवर की बिजली दरों में 25 प्रतिशत की बढ़ोत्तरी हो जाने से मुम्बईकरों को जोर का झटका लगा है. मर्क ने आगामी तीन वर्षों के लिए टाटा पॉवर की बिजली दर को मंजूरी दे दी है, जिससे सस्ती बिजली का राग अलापने वाले टाटा पॉवर कार्पोरेशन की कलई खुल गई है. नई दर 1 जुलाई से प्रभावी होगी.

वर्ष 2013-14 में टाटा पॉवर की घरेलू बिजली जहां 25 प्रतिशत महंगी होगी, वहीं वर्ष 2014-15 में 15 तथा 2015-16 में ग्राहकों को 11 प्रतिशत का झटका लगेगा. महानगर में टाटा के लगभग 3 लाख घरेलू ग्राहक हैं, जिनके बिल में अगले महीने से एक चौथाई बढ़ोत्तरी हो जाएगी.

इतना ही नहीं, बल्कि औद्योगिक और वाणिज्यिक ग्राहकों को भी टाटा ने तगड़ा झटका दिया है. 2013-14 में इस वर्ग के ग्राहकों पर 23 से 39 प्रतिशत तक की बढ़ोत्तरी थोपी गई है. इसी तरह वर्ष 2014-15 में 9 से 13 प्रतिशत तथा वर्ष 2015-16 में 4 से 8 प्रतिशत की बढ़ोत्तरी होगी.

दर वृद्धि के मामले में रेलवे को भी बख्शा नहीं गया है. वर्ष 2013-14 में रेलवे की बिजली दर में 21 प्रतिशत की बढ़ोत्तरी की गई है. इसी तरह वर्ष 2014-15 तथा 2015-16 में क्रमश: 12 तथा 10 प्रतिशत की बढ़ोत्तरी की जाएगी.

जम्मू। भारतीय रेलवे ने एक जुलाई से जम्मू तवी से पांच नई ट्रेनें शुरू करने की घोषणा की है। ये ट्रेनें किस तारीख से चलेंगी यह अभी तय नहीं हुआ है। इन ट्रेनों में कालका-कटड़ा ट्रेन सप्ताह में दो दिन चलेगी। कटड़ा से बुधवार और शनिवार तथा कालका से मंगलवार और शुक्रवार को ट्रेन चलेगी। कालका से शाम सात बजे चलकर ट्रेन कटड़ा में सुबह पौने पांच बजे पहुंचेगी जबकि कटड़ा से सुबह 7.50 से चलेगी और कालका साढ़े नौ बजे रात पहुंचेगी। कटड़ा से नई दिल्ली के लिए भी ट्रेन चलेगी जो सप्ताह में छह दिन रूट पर दौड़ेगी। यह ट्रेन नई दिल्ली से शाम साढ़े पांच बजे चलकर कटड़ा सुबह साढ़े पांच बजे पहुंचेगी। जबकि कटड़ा से सुबह 10:45 बजे चलकर रात साढ़े दस बजे नई दिल्ली पहुंचेगी।
भठिंडा से जम्मू तवी के बीच भी साप्ताहिक ट्रेन शुरू हो रही है। यह रेलगाड़ी वीरवार को रात 9.05 बजे चलकर सुबह सवा सात बजे और शुक्रवार को जम्मू से रात 11:25 मिनट पर चलकर सुबह 10.20 पर भठिंडा पहुंचेगी। कोटा-जम्मू तवी के लिए भी साप्ताहिक ट्रेन शुरू की गई है। जो कोटा से शनिवार दोपहर तीन बजे चलकर जम्मू में दूसरे दिन दोपहर एक बजकर दस मिनट पर पहुंचेगी। जम्मू से रविवार रात पौने बारह बजे चलकर कोटा में साढ़े दस बजे पहुंचेगी। दुर्ग-जम्मू तवी के बीच साप्ताहिक एक्सप्रेस ट्रेन दोबारा शुरू की गई है। जो जम्मू तवी से शुक्रवार सुबह पांच बजे चलकर दुर्ग में शाम सात बजे पहुंचेगी और दुर्ग से बुधवार सुबह नौ बजे चलकर जम्मू में रात 9:10 मिनट पर पहुंचेगी। इसके अलावा जम्मू तवी-बरौनी एक्सप्रेस का भी विस्तार किया गया। ट्रेन अब भागलपुर तक जाएगी। इसके समय और दिन मेें कोई बदलाव नहीं किया गया है।
