Shri Pawan Kumar Bansal, Hon'ble Minister of Railways flagged off First EMU service in Dahanu Road-Churchgate section at a function held at Dahanu Road Railway station o­n Tuesday, 16th April, 2013. Shri Prithviraj Chavan, Hon'ble Chief Minister, Govt. of Maharashtrawas the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries were also present o­n this occasion.

Shri Mahesh Kumar, General Manager, Western Railway welcomed the honourable guests in the beginning. Shri Ganesh R. Naik, Hon'ble Minister for Non-Conventional Energy & State Excise, Govt. of Maharashtra; Shri Rajendra D. Gavit, Hon'ble Minister of State for Tribal Development, Labour, Command Area Development and Horticulture, Govt. of Maharashtra; Shri Baliram S. Jadhav, Hon'ble MP; Shri Rajaram Ozare, Hon'ble MLA; Shri Vinay Mittal, Chairman, Railway Board; Shri Subodh Jain, Member Engineering; Shri Kulbhushan, Member Electrical and Shri K.K. Shrivastava, Member Traffic and Senior Railway Officers were present in the function.

15 new EMU trains have been introduced in Churchgate-Dahanu Road Section.2 shuttle trains running between Dahanu Road and Borivali have been replaced by EMU and extended upto Churchgate. 2 EMU services running between Dadar and Virar have been extended till Dahanu Road and 1 EMU services running between Churchgate and Virar has also been extended to Dahanu Road. Apart from above, 4 MEMU services which were running between Dahanu Road and Virar have been extended upto Dadar. The regular run of newly introduced EMU services will commence from 17/04/2013.

Local train services on the 124-km Dahanu-Churchgate route were today (April 16) inaugurated by Union Railways Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal on the 160th anniversary of the Indian Railways. The 122nd  Birth Anniversary of the Babasaheb Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was celebrated at Southern Railway Headquarters o­n 15.4.2013 in a befitting manner.  Shri Rakesh Misra, General Manager and other Senior railway officers and  employees of Southern Railway, paid floral tributes to Dr. Ambedkar. Smt. Latha Priyakumar, Hon’ble Member, National Commission for Scheduled Castes was the Chief Guest of the function.  Prizes to employees and wards of employees for essay and quiz competitions were distributed by Smt. Latha Priyakumar. Shri N. Swaminathan, Chief Personnel Officer, welcomed the gathering.  Shri Rakesh Misra, General Manager,  during his address lauded the services of Dr.B.R. Ambedkar, to the society.  Shri V. Pitchairaju, retired Chief Personnel Officer, Southern Railway, presented poetry o­n Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Officers and Employees of Southern Railway participated in the function.  The function was concluded with the vote of thanks by    Shri K. Manickaraj, Senior Personnel Officer.

Introduction of New Trains

भोपाल। बीना-भोपाल मेमू ट्रेन की शुरुआत अब रेल मंत्री पवन बंसल नहीं करेंगे। इनकी जगह लोकसभा में नेता प्रतिपक्ष सुषमा स्वराज मेमू ट्रेन को हरी झंडी दिखाकर रवाना करेंगी। वहीं, हबीबगंज-इंदौर सुपर फास्ट एसी डबल डेकर ट्रेन को फिलहाल मंजूरी नहीं मिली है।  

17 अप्रैल को आयोजित कार्यक्रम की मुख्य अतिथि सुषमा स्वराज होंगी। अध्यक्षता मुख्यमंत्री शिवराज सिंह चौहान करेंगे। डीआरएम राजीव चौधरी ने इस सिलसिले में सोमवार दोपहर में फिर से छठवें प्लेटफॉर्म पर पहुंचकर तैयारियों का जायजा लिया। शाम को उन्होंने मुख्यमंत्री चौहान से मुलाकात कर कार्यक्रम की रूपरेखा से अवगत कराया। 

डबल डेकर ट्रेन की मंजूरी में लगेगा वक्त

कमिश्नर रेलवे सेफ्टी के यहां से डबल डेकर ट्रेन चलाने की मंजूरी में अभी दो-तीन दिन लग सकते हैं। डबल डेकर के ट्रायल के दौरान हबीबगंज से इंदौर स्टेशन तक के प्लेटफार्म शेड टूटने का असर सीआरएस रिपोर्ट पर पड़ सकता है।इसलिए रेलवे प्रशासन डबल डेकर को चलाने से पहले तैयारियों पर जोर दे रहा है।

भोपाल। भोपाल रेलवे स्टेशन पर बनाए गए नए ड्राइव इन प्लेटफार्म और बीना-भोपाल मेमू ट्रेन की शुरुआत रेल मंत्री पवन बंसल के स्थान पर अब लोकसभा में नेता प्रतिपक्ष सुषमा स्वराज करेंगी। वहीं, हबीबगंज-इंदौर सुपरफास्ट एसी डबल डेकर ट्रेन फिलहाल नहीं चल सकेगी। इसे आगामी कुछ दिनों बाद कमिश्नर रेलवे सेफ्टी की मंजूरी मिलने के बाद हरी झंडी मिल पाएगी।


बड़ौदा के शेड से मेमू ट्रेन का रैक मंगवाकर सुषमा स्वराज के हाथों हरी झंडी दिखवा दी जाएगी। इस कार्यक्रम की अध्यक्षता मुख्यमंत्री शिवराज सिंह चौहान करेंगे। डीआरएम राजीव चौधरी ने इस सिलसिले में सोमवार को दोपहर में फिर छठवें प्लेटफार्म पर पहुंचकर तैयारियों का जायजा लिया। रेल मंडल के जनसंपर्क अधिकारी केके दुबे ने बताया कि कार्यक्रम में कोई फेरबदल नहीं किया गया है। अभी छठवें प्लेटफार्म के साथ मेमू ट्रेन की उद्घाटन सेवा के माध्यम से दो सौगातें भोपाल के निवासियों को एक साथ दे दी जाएंगी।


डबल डेकर में हो सकती है देरी: बताया जाता है कि कमिश्नर रेलवे सेफ्टी के यहां से डबल डेकर ट्रेन के ट्रॉयल के बाद गाड़ी चलाने की मंजूरी में दो-तीन दिन लग सकते हैं। इसलिए फिलहाल डबल डेकर के लिए राजधानी के लोगों को कुछ इंतजार करना पड़ सकता है।


टूटफूट से आई परेशानी: डबल डेकर ट्रेन की ट्रॉयल के दौरान हबीबगंज से इंदौर स्टेशन तक के प्लेटफार्म शेड टूटने का असर सीआरएस रिपोर्ट पर पड़ सकता है। इसलिए रेलवे प्रशासन डबल डेकर को चलाने से पहले अब तैयारियों पर जोर दे रहा है।

Three new trains of the South Eastern Railways were flagged off today by the Minister of state for Railways Adhir Chowdhury.The three trains were the Haldia-Anand Vihar weekly Superfast Express, Santragachi-Bagnan EMU local and Santragachi-Panskura EMU local.The Haldia-Anand Vihar Express will connect East Midnapur district with Delhi while the two EMUs will be immensely beneficial for the people of Bagnan and Panskura.The minister also announced two more trains, Shalimar-Bhuj Weekly Superfast Express from April 20 and Mathnasipur- Masagram DEMU passenger from tomorrow.The Shalimar-Bhuj Weekly Superfast Express will provide direct connectivity between West Bengal and Gujarat.

In order to clear extra rush of passengers, 16 summer special trains will be run between Chennai Egmore and Bikaner as per the following schedule:-
Train No. 06013 Chennai Egmore - Bikaner Summer Special Train will depart Chennai Egmore at 15 15 hrs (Monday) o­n 22nd, 29th April and 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th May and 3rd, 10thJune  2013 and arrive Bikaner at 17 00 hrs o­n Wednesdays (Second day).
In the return direction, Train No.06014 Bikaner – Chennai Egmore Summer Special train will depart Bikaner at 14 55 hrs (Thursday) o­n 25th April and 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th May and 6th, 13th June 2013 and arrive Chennai Egmore at 15 00 hrs o­n Saturdays (Second day).
Enroute, these trains will stop at Gudur, Nellore, o­ngole, Vijayawada, Khammam, Warangal, Ramgundam, Sirpurkagaznagar, Balharshah, Chandrapur, Wardha, Badnera, Akola, Malkapur, Bhusaval, Jalgaon, Nandurbar, surat, Vadodara, Geratpur, Ahmedabad, Mahesana, Palanpur, Abu Raod, Sirohi Raod, Falna, Marwar Jn, Pali Marwar, Luni, Jodhpur, Merta Road, Nagaur and Nokha stations in both directions.
These trains will consist of four AC III Tier, eight Sleeper Class, four General Second Class and two Second Class Luggage Cum Brake Van Coaches, totaling to eighteen coaches.

LUCKNOW: Gomtinagar is likely be developed as a three-line crossing station by December this year with an estimated cost of Rs 8.67 crore, with the Railway Board giving the money and contracts been finalised. The station would get two additional platform lines, passenger shelters and foot overbridges, water supply arrangements and electrification of lines. The work at Gomtinagar station started in January this year and Railways would complete it by December.

The second phase of the station's development would also follow, once it gets developed as a crossing station. "After the second phase, few trains would start originating from Gomtinagar," said DRM, Lucknow, NER, VK Yadav on Monday while talking about the work done in 2012-13 by the Lucknow division. The estimated cost of the works to be taken up in the second phase is Rs 48.58 crore.

An additional platform, four additional rail lines, new station building, which would be a second entry to Gomtinagar station, coaching complex and terminal facilities with washing pit would be constructed at Gomtinagar station under the second phase. The development of Gomtinagar station has, in the past, been hit by fund crunch. The station was constructed at a cost of around Rs 42 crore, but, Railways apathy hasn't made it function more like a halt than a cross-over station.

Gomtinagar station has two fully constructed platforms, a building providing computerised reservation, an under-constructed additional track, railway quarters and a well constructed approach road. The only similarity that the station has, so far, shared with the halt is the low turn-out of passengers and the functions that the station has been made to perform. Not more than 200 passengers visit the station for commuting on daily basis and tickets are sold by private contractors like any other halt station.

Gomtinagar functioned as a halt station till 2003, when Atal Bihari Vajpayee suggested that it be developed into a terminal station. Things then changed overnight for the place.

According to the plan then, it was to be developed into seven platforms. It would have been at par with other major stations, had it come up the way it was conceived at that point of time. Later, funds meant for its development were diverted to other stations in Lucknow. The division wanted to develop it as a double-line crossing station between Aishbagh and Lucknow junction.
