अधिकारी भले ही ट्रेनों में साफ सफाई का दावा करते हों लेकिन हकीकत एकदम जुदा है। पैसेंजर ट्रेन तो दूर एक्सप्रेस गाड़ियों में भी काफी गंदगी रहती है। दैनिक यात्रियों ने रुहेलखंड एक्सप्रेस में गदंगी की शिकायत वाणिज्य अधीक्षक से की है। बरेली से पीलीभीत आने वाले दैनिक यात्रियों ने वाणिज्य अधीक्षक सतीश कुमार से की शिकायत में कहा है कि प्रदेश की राजधानी तक जाने वाली इस ट्रेन की सफाई व्यवस्था काफी खराब है। गंदगी के कारण इसमें बैठना मुश्किल होता है। |

मुंबई- गुजरातमध्ये झालेल्या मुसळधार पावसामुळे पश्चिम रेल्वेला मोठा फटका बसला आहे. वसई रोड ते वलसाड रेल्वे स्थानकांदरम्यान रेल्वे रुळांवर पाणी असल्यामुळे पश्चिम रेल्वेने अनेक गाड्या रद्द केल्या आहेत. तसेच उपनगरीय रेल्वे गाड्या केवळ वसई रोडपर्यंतच धावणार आहेत. आटुल आणि पारडी रेल्वे स्थानकांदरम्यान पुलांवरुन पाणी वाहत आहे. त्यामुळे पाणी ओसरेपर्यंत अहमदाबाद येथून मुंबईकडे येणा-या काही गाड्या सुरतपासूनच मागे वळण्यात आल्या आहेत. तर दिल्लीकडून येणा-या लांब पल्ल्याच्या गाड्या विविध स्थानकांवर थांबविण्यात आल्या आहेत. वलसाड ते सुरत स्थानकांदरम्यानही वाहतूक थांबविण्यात आली आहे. |

Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel will now stand by busy train ticket examiners (TTEs) inside the long-distance trains as well as at ‘sensitive’ railway stations in Gujarat. Concerned over safety of passengers and railway proprieties, the railway board has issued orders to this effect to the RPF stations in the state. A senior railway official here told Khaleej Times that the decision followed recent alerts of terror threats and alleged border intrusions from the neighbouring countries.He said RPF personnel would assist TTEs in checking visitors and passengers on railway stations on daily basis, besides checking all compartments of trains heading to the southern states and Jammu and Kashmir.“Terror threats as well as incidents of illegal supply of arms, narcotics, hawala money have increased. Trains are becoming easy access for elements spreading terror”, the official said.For this, RPF stations at major railway stations in Gujarat will be revamped and equipped with more manpower. Also, railway stations in coastal areas of Gujarat and Kutch sharing the border with Pakistan will be specially kept under the watch of the RPF.Railway officials have also been directed to keep a strict vigil on ncreasing infiltration from Bangladesh as intruders are using the railways to reach various destinations in the country.Two years ago, TTEs were trained to double up as security agents providing crucial information about suspicious baggage or behaviour of passengers onboard trains, hitherto done by RPF personnel only. The experiment did not succeed even after informing the TTEs about security-related emergent situations which may arise onboard trains and ways to deal with the situation effectively. |

Two trains were held up after a person attempted to commit suicide on the railway track near the Kottayam Railway station on Wednesday.The incident occurred at Nagampadom around 9.30 am. A person, identified as Haridas of Erumeli, jumped on the path of a rail engine that was being taken to Ernakulam from the Kottayam railway station.As the engine was moving at a low speed, the loco pilot managed to stop it before hitting the person.However, the person refused to move away from the track despite repeated requests by the loco pilot and the passerby. Finally, the Railway Protection Force personnel forcibly removed him from the track. |

LUCKNOW: As announced in Rail Budget, railways will introduce train No. 15622/15621 AnandViharTerminal-Kamakhya (weekly) Express. The train will have its inaugural run from Kamakhya on Thursday.Train number 15622 will depart from Anand Vihar terminal every Friday from July 19 at 11.45pm to reach Kamakhya ( West Bengal) at 2.45pm the third day. In the return direction, the 15621 will depart from Kamakhya on every Thursday from July 25 at 6.10am. to reach Anand Vihar terminal at 5.40pm the next day.The train will consist of one AC III-Tier, five sleeper class, six general class and two disabled-friendly second class cum luggage van coaches. |

THRISSUR: Palakkad MP M B Rajesh has alleged vested interests behind the unwillingness of the Union government to accept a Steel Authority of India (Sail) proposal to partner in the proposed rail coach factory at Kanjikode.Rajesh said no progress had been made on the project ever since its foundation stone was laid one and half years ago. "The railway was looking for a partner for implementing the project. Sail had given its proposal to the railway a few months ago but no action has been taken on it. A public sector company, that too a Maharatna company, willing to partner in the project can save time as there is no need for a global tender. The insistence of public-private mode shows there is vested interests. The government should clarify on this," he said.The Rs 576-crore rail coach factory is proposed in Puthussery village near the Kanjikode industrial area. It was allotted during the tenure of Mamata Banerjee in 2009, following which the state government acquired and handed over 239 acres to the railway in 2010 in lieu of Rs 94 crore paid by the latter.He said the ministry had seen seven ministers in four years and this also contributes to the delay in projects. The foundation stone for the factory was laid on February 21, 2012, when minister Dinesh Trivedi had promised that the work would begin in six months.The first proposal was made by former prime minister Indira Gandhi in 1980, following which it was given to Punjab. The second proposal came up when the Palakkad railway division was bifurcated during the tenure of the first UPA government.The factory is expected to manufacture 400 coaches a year. |

कोटा-!- दुर्ग-अजमेर ट्रेन का मंगलवार सुबह अचानक इंजन फेल हो गया। इसके कारण ट्रेन 35 मिनट अटकी रही। यात्रियों को परेशानी का सामना करना पड़ा। |
