मोबाइल रिचार्ज प्रमाणे किराणा दुकानात रेल्वेचे तिकीट बुकिंग करता आले तर? ऐकून काहीसे अजब वाटले. मात्र, सर्व काही सुरळीत झाले तर इंडियन रेल्वे कॅटरिंग अॅन्ड टुरिझम कॉर्पोरेशन (आयआरसीटीसी) खास प्रवाशांच्या सुविधेसाठी अशाप्रकारची आगळी वेगळी सेवा सुरू करण्याचा विचार करीत आहे. मोबाइलवर एसएमएसद्वारे तिकीट बुक करण्याच्या पर्यायाला प्रवाशांकडून अधिकाअधिक प्रतिसाद मिळावा या उद्देशाने या काही नव्या कल्पना आणण्याचा प्रयत्न करीत आहे. पण, असे असले तरी येत्या काही दिवसांमध्ये प्रवाशांनी जवळपासच्या दुकानात जाऊन संबं​धित प्रवासासाठी पैसे मोजून तिकीट बुक केले तर त्यात वावगे वाटण्यासारखे काही कारण नाही.

आयआरसीटीसी भारतीय रेल्वेशी संबंधित पोर्टल असून या सेवेद्वारे रेल्वेचे ऑनलाइन तिकीट बुकिंग करण्यात येते. नुकतेच आयआरसीटीसीने इंटरनेटबरोबरच, एमएसएम तिकीट बुकिंग सेवाही ग्राहकांसाठी खास सुरू केली. या सेवेद्वारे प्रवाशांना त्यांच्या मोबाइलवर प्रवासाची सर्व माहिती उपलब्ध करून देण्यात येते. तर मोबाइलवर येणारा एसएमएस तिकीट म्हणूनही प्रवासादरम्यान ग्राह्य धरण्यात येणार आहे. या दोन्ही सेवा काही दिवसांपूर्वीच सुरू झाल्या आहेत. मात्र, आयआरसीटीसी एसएमएस वर आधारित रेल्वे तिकीट बुकिंगला आणखी आकर्षक करण्याचा विचार करीत आहे. काहीच दिवसांपूर्वी सुरू करण्यात आलेल्या या सुविधेला अजूनही हवा तसा प्रतिसाद मिळालेला नाही. या सेवेद्वारे दररोज १५० तिकीटांचे बुकिंग होत आहे.

किराणा दुकानातून रेल्वेचे तिकीट बुकिंग ही योजना अतिशय प्राथमिक स्तरावर आहे. सध्या ही योजना कशी राबवता येईल याचा विचार सुरू आहे. यामध्ये दुकानदारांना कसे माध्यम करता येईल यासाठी प्रयत्न सुरू आहे. यात प्रवाशांकडून तिकीट बुकिंगचे पैसे घेऊन मोबाइलद्वारे आयआरसीटीसीला तिकीटाचे शुल्क भरण्यात येईल. त्यामुळे प्रवासी कुठूनही प्रवासभाडे दुकानदाराला रोख रकमेत अदा करून त्यांच्या मोबाइलवर तिकीट बुकिंगचा एसएमएस घेऊ शकतील. ही सेवा सुरळीत करण्यासाठी दूरसंचार कंपन्यांकडून सल्लामसलत करण्यात येणार आहे.

दुकानातून रेल्वे तिकीट बुकिंगसाठी आयआरसीटीसी संबंधित दुकानदारांना विशिष्ट रक्कम आयआरसीटीसीकडे जमा करावी लागेल. जसे तिकीटांचे बुकिंग करण्यात येईल तशी ही रक्कम दुकानदारांच्या खात्यातून वजा करण्यात येईल. अशाप्रकारच्या आगळ्यावेगळ्या सुविधेमुळे इंटरनेट बँकिंगमध्ये अनेकदा पैसे खात्यातून वजा होताना येणाऱ्या अडचणी येणार नाहीत. त्यातच रेल्वे तिकीटांमध्ये अनेक प्रवाशी 'वेटिंग' तिकीट काढतात. त्यामुळे असे तिकीट कॅन्सल करणाऱ्यांची संख्या मोठी असते. त्यामुळे तिकीट रद्द करणाऱ्या प्रवाशांना सुरळीतपणे त्यांचे पैसे परत करण्याची पद्धत कुठल्या प्रकारची राहील हे तयार करणे आव्हान राहणार असल्याचे आयआरसीटीच्या अधिकाऱ्याने

ट्रेन में सामान चोरी होने की घटनाएं आम हैं, लेकिन फर्ज कीजिए कि ऐसा होने के 17 साल बाद अगर किसी को हर्जाना मिले, तो वह खुश हो या इस देरी पर दुखी।

शीर्ष उपभोक्ता आयोग ने रेलवे को उस लेडी डॉक्टर को हर्जाने के रूप में 2.01 लाख रुपए चुकाने के निर्देश दिए हैं, जिनका सामान 1996 में चोरी हो गया था। वह कुशीनगर एक्सप्रेस में सफर कर रही थीं।

नेशनल कंज्यूमर डिस्प्यूट्स रिड्रेसल ‌कमिशन (एनसीडीआरसी) ने महिला का सामान चोरी होने के लिए रेलवे को जिम्मेदार ठहराया है।

उसका कहना है कि टिकट चेकर को यह सुनिश्चित करना चाहिए था कि कोई भी अनधिकृत व्यक्ति रिजर्व कोच में ‌दाखिल न हो। वह ऐसा नहीं कर सका, जिसके लिए रेलवे प्रशासन जिम्मेदार है।

उन्होंने कहा, 'इस बात में कोई संदेह नहीं है कि श‌िकायतकर्ता और उनकी बेटी रिजर्व कोच में सफर कर रही थीं और यह टीटीई की ड्यूटी थी कि वह किसी अनाधिकृत को रिजर्व कंपार्टमेंट में दाखिल न होने दे।'

एनसीडीआरसी ने यह आदेश देते हुए रेलवे की अपील खारिज की, जो उसने उत्तर प्रदेश उपभोक्ता आयोग और डिस्ट्रिक्‍ट फोरम के आदेश के खिलाफ की थी।

अपनी अपील में रेलवे ने दलील दी थी कि उसकी तरफ से कोई लापरवाही नहीं हुई है और जब तक सामान उसके यहां बुक नहीं कराए जाता, उसे हर्जाना देने की जरूरत नहीं है।

Railway Minister M Mallikarjun Kharge has directed the Railway Board to prepare at the earliest a detailed project report (DPR) on the Wadi-Gadag new railway line after the preliminary survey is completed.

The Wadi-Gadag line was of crucial importance as it could connect Hyderabad-Karnataka with Bombay-Karnataka, Kharge said after laying the foundation stone for doubling of 98-km Gulbarga-Hotgi line and construction of a fourth platform along with the foot overbridge at the Gulbarga railway station on Tuesday. At present, there is no direct train between Gulbarga and Hubli or Belgaum. Once the Wadi-Gadag railway line was constructed, the two regions would have direct connectivity, the minister added.

Kharge directed the Railway Board member (Engineering), Subodh Jain who shared the dais with him, to prepare the DPR at the earliest on the new line proposed in the Railway Budget for 2013-14. According to the minister, once the DPR was prepared and cleared by the Planning Commission, it could be taken to the Cabinet for approval. Thereafter, the project could be implemented.

Kharge further said that the railways had decided to use the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) in its works. All masonry work in the railways could be taken up under the Act and the respective gram panchayats, under whose jurisdiction the railway line fell, involved for the purpose. “It will not only ensure proper and effective implementation of the Act but also help the railways to execute its works,’’ Kharge hoped, adding that discussions were held with the Union Rural Development Minister, Jairam Ramesh, and progress was expected soon.

According to Kharge, the 110-km Bidar-Gulbarga new railway line being constructed for the last 14 years would be completed in three-and-a-half-years if adequate funds were available every year.

TEMPORARY AUGMENTATION OF 19601/02 AJMER-NEW JALPAIGURI -AJMER EXPRESS AND 19611/12, 19613/14 AJMER-AMRITSAR-AJMER EXPRESS



            ‍For the convenience of the rail passengers and to increase the passenger carrying capacity of trains, Railway has decided to augment  the 19601/02 Ajmer- New Jalpaiguri -Ajmer Express  and 19611/12, 19613/14 Ajmer-Amritsar-Ajmer Express Trains o­n temporary basis as per the under-mentioned  programme:-



·19601/02  Ajmer- New Jalpaiguri -Ajmer Express Train will be augmented by o­ne Additional A.C.Two Tier  coach for o­ne trip o­nly o­n  27.07.2013 when departing from Ajmer and o­n 29.07.2013  when departing from New Jalpaiguri. The other features like timings, route, stoppages etc. will remain as unchanged.

·19611/12, 19613/14 Ajmer- Amritsar -Ajmer Express Train will be augmented by o­ne Additional A.C.Three Tier coach with effect from  24.07.2013 to 31.07.2013 when departing from Ajmer and  from  25.07.2013 to 01.08.2013 when departing from Amritsar

      The other features like timings, route, stoppages etc. will remain as unchanged.

India's longest bridge coming up across the mighty Brahmaputra at Bogibeel in Assam is not only expected to be a lifeline for the Northeast, but will also strengthen the country's security.

Scheduled to be completed in 2016, the 4.94 km rail-cum-road bridge, a product of the 1985 Assam Accord and being implemented by the North East Frontier Railway, will provide connectivity to upper Assam and Arunachal Pradesh and cut down the distance to the border with China by 10 hours.

Railway officials said that the rail link would connect two existing railway networks running at south bank and north bank of the river.

It starts from Chaulkhowa station and Moranhat station at south bank and joins in between Sisibargaon station and Siripani station of Rangiya-Murkongselek section in north bank.

Right now it takes one and a half hours to cross the river, but once the bridge is inaugurated, the travel time will be reduced to a few minutes.

Besides, movement of goods will also be possible on a larger scale.

Railway officials said the bridge would strengthen national security by way of truncating distance to reach the China border during movement of troops and supplies.

But not all are happy. As the completion of the bridge draws near, over 100 boatmen families are spending sleepless nights over fear that it will jeopardise their sources of income.

For Munna Singh, Brojen Doley, Rajesh Chowdhury and other majhis, it will be tough finding an alternative means of livelihood inheriting their profession from generations far into the past.

"I don't know what to do ....The fear of closing my ferry service always haunts me. How will I manage a regular income?" Munna Singh, who owns two country boats and is presently earning around Rs 15,000 per month, despairs.

Similar is the condition of Brojen Doley who owns a boat that ferries private vehicles of people from Arunachal Pradesh.

Mechanised cleaning to be introduced in Nagapattinam

The medical department of Tiruchi Railway Division has taken over three more stations falling within the division for maintenance of cleanliness on the station premises and its adjoining areas.

A comprehensive cleaning mechanism would be put into place in each of the three stations – Puducherry, Nagapattinam, and Ariyalur - consequent to the takeover by the medical department.

The complete cleaning work would be outsourced after calling for tenders and finalising private agencies for the three stations which come under the “B” category.

Though cleaning and maintenance at the three stations on a day-to-day basis would be done by private agencies using machines and other kits, the medical department would supervise the entire work.

Manual work

For the time being, manual cleaning is being done at the three stations by engaging private parties.

Under the comprehensive cleaning package, cleaning would be done on the platforms, tracks, concourse area, approach road leading to the station, and service buildings that include waiting room, retiring room,and station master’s room, railway officials here told The Hindu.

At present, cleanliness of seven stations falling within the division — Tiruchi, Thanjavur, Vriddhachalam, Villupuram, Kumbakonam, Mayiladuthurai and Tiruvarur — are being maintained by the medical department through outsourcing.

Tiruchi, Thanjavur, Kumbakonam and Mayiladuthurai fall under the “A” category station; Vriddhachalam and Villupuram have been categorised as “B” while Tiruvarur is an ‘Adarsh’ station.

“We will be introducing mechanised cleaning on a daily basis in Nagapattinam, Ariyalur and Puducherry to keep the station premises clean,” said a senior railway officer here.

According priority to cleanliness as well, the Railways would spend Rs. 70 lakh for maintenance of cleanliness for a two–year period for Puducherry, Rs. 66 lakh for Ariyalur, and Rs. 67 lakh for Nagapattinam for the same period.

Cleanliness work at Tiruchi junction, a major station in the division, was taken over by the medical department in 2004.

Subsequently, it took over cleanliness work in other “A” and “B” category stations in the division, which bagged the overall medical efficiency shield during 2012-13 fiscal.

Gulbarga: Promising to  improve the railway network of the state to bring it on par with  national standards, railway minister Mallikarjun Kharge assured on Tuesday that he would see to it that the long pending demand of the region for a  divisional railway headquarters was fulfilled soon."In addition to the Central, South Central and South Western Railway zones, efforts are being made to carve out a new zone," he told reporters.  The proposed  headquarters at Gulbarga would cover Yadgir, Bidar, Raichur,  parts of Bijapur, besides Gulbarga.While the state has three railway divisions for over 3,150 kms of  railway tracks, Maharashtra  has seven  and Andhra Pradesh,  six.Kharge, who laid the foundation stone for doubling of the Gulbarga-Hotgi  railway line and modernisation of the railway station here, announced that a  pilot project connecting Naded with Yavatmal in Maharashtra would be  launched soon as well.As for the work on the doubling of the 98 km long Gulbarga-Hotgi line, which forms  part of the Mumbai -Chennai trunk route, Kharge said the project was scheduled to be completed in 30 months at a cost of Rs 350 crore.

"This line  forms part of the Daund-Gulbarga doubling project which is partly funded by  ADB. The doubling will enable more freight-traffic to Mumbai and Delhi sections," he explained.

नाशिकरोड - मुंबईहून नाशिकमार्गे जम्मू व अहमदाबादला जाण्यासाठी एकही रेल्वे नसल्याने नाशिक जिल्ह्यातील भाविक व प्रवाशांना मुंबई येथून जावे लागते. नाशिक येथून या ठिकाणांसाठी होणारे आरक्षण, तिकीट विक्री लक्षात घेऊन नाशिकमार्गे या दोन नवीन गाड्या सुरू करण्याचा प्रस्ताव रेल्वे प्रशासनाच्या वतीने मुख्यालयाला पाठविण्यात आला आहे.

वैष्णोदेवीच्या दर्शनासाठी अहमदनगर व नाशिक जिल्ह्यातील भाविकांची संख्या लक्षणीय आहे. भाविक पुणे येथून सुटणार्‍या मनमाडमार्गे धावणार्‍या जम्मू तावी (झेलम) गाडीने जातात. मुंबईच्या भाविकांना जम्मू तावी (स्वराज) गाडीची सोय आहे. या दोन्ही गाड्या वर्षभर हाऊसफुल असतात. जिल्ह्यातील प्रवाशांची गैरसोय लक्षात घेऊन मुंबईहून नाशिकमार्गे जम्मूसाठी नवीन गाडी सुरू करण्याचा प्रशासनाचा प्रस्ताव आहे. अहमदाबाद, सुरतसाठी नाशिकमार्गे गाडी नसल्याने प्रवाशांना मुंबईला जावे लागते. त्यामुळे वेळ अधिक खर्च होतो. त्यामुळे मुंबईहून नाशिकमार्गे मनमाड, जळगाव, नंदुरबारमार्गे अहमदाबाद गाडी सुरू करण्याचा प्रस्तावात समावेश आहे.

‘निजामुद्दीन’ची अद्याप प्रतीक्षाच मध्य रेल्वेने अतिजलद वातानुकूलित लोकमान्य टिळक टर्मिनस (एलटीटी) ते निजामुद्दीन (क्रमांक-22109/22110) नवीन गाडीच्या शुभारंभाची प्रवाशांना प्रतीक्षा आहे. अतिजलद, संपूर्ण वातानुकूलित एकमेव व दोन्ही बाजूने केवळ सहा थांब्यांच्या गाडीचे जोरदार स्वागत होत आहे. धावण्याच्या दिवसांची संख्या वाढवून लवकर शुभारंभाची मागणी प्रवाशांनी केली आहे.

महसूल वाढेल रेल्वे प्रवाशांचा प्रतिसाद लक्षात घेता जम्मू, अहमदाबादसाठी नाशिकमार्गे गाडी सुरू झाल्यास मध्य रेल्वेच्या नाशिक स्थानकाच्या महसुलात निश्चितच लक्षणीय वाढ होईल. सचिन गडाख, प्रवासी
