लखनऊ। पलिया कला (खीरी) में बहराइच सीमा पर दुधवा टाइगर रिजर्व के जंगलों से बीच निकल रही रेलवे लाइन पर आए जंगली हाथी की ट्रेन से कटकर मौत हो गई। घटना तिकुनिया-खैरटिया के बीच की है। घटना से प्रशासन में खलबली मच गई। वन विभाग व पुलिस मौके पर पहुंची। इससे कई रेलगाड़ियों के संचालन पर भी असर पड़ा। ट्रेन समय पर नहीं चल सकीं।

SHRI KOTLA JAYA SURYA PRAKASH REDDY, HON’BLE UNION MINISTER OF STATE FOR RAILWAYSHOLDS REVIEW MEETING WITH TOP OFFICIALS OF SOUTHERN RAILWAY

Shri Kotla Jaya Surya Prakash Reddy, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Railways held a review meeting with Shri Rakesh Misra, General Manager, Southern Railway, Dr. G. Narayanan, Additional General Manager, along with the Principal Heads of Departments & Senior officials of Southern Railway today (21.8.2013).  The progress of various o­ngoing projects were discussed. Escalator progress, construction of new hospital building at Perambur were also reviewed.  Projects requiring additional fund allocation have been projected by Southern Railway during this meeting. Further, he desired provision of better amenities at stations where more tourists congregate. The Hon. Minister urged the railway officials for improving the quality of linen and also the quality of food which is being served to rail-passengers.  He also stressed the importance of safety o­n Indian Railways and desired the elimination of unmanned level crossings over Southern Railway.

Later o­n, Hon’ble Minister inspected Chennai Central railway station accompanied by the General Manager, Principal Heads of Department and Divisional Railway Manager, Chennai Division. He had a very detailed inspection of various passenger amenities provided at Chennai Central and also held detailed discussions o­n how to further enhance the amenities.  He inspected the functioning of baggage scanner, Jan Ahar food stall and had a thorough look of the station buildings, A/c waiting hall, Cleanliness, Medical care center, the control room of Integrated Security System (ISS) of the station. He later inspected the Mechanised laundry functioning at Coaching Depot, Basin Bridge regarding the washing, drying and pressing of linens supplied to rail passengers.

MANGALORE: Southern Railway has introduced special trains for Velankanni festival via Salem, Rasipuram, Namakkal and Karur from August 28.The special trains will be run between Vasco-da-Gama and Velankanni on the eve of Velankanni festival. Train 07315 Vasco-da-Gama - Velankanni Special will leave Vasco-da-Gama at 2pm on August 28 and September 1 and arrive Velankanni at 7.15pm the next day. Train 07316 Velankanni - Vasco-da-Gama Special will leave Velankanni at 11.45pm on August 29 and September 2 and arrive at Vasco-da-Gama at 5.30am the next day. The composition of the trains will be one AC 3-tier, six Sleeper Class, eight General Second Class and two second class coaches. The trains will stop at Madgaon, Sanvordern, Kulem, Castle Rock, Londa, Dharwad, Hubli, Haveri, Davangere, Birur, Arsikere, Tumkur, Yeshwantpur, Krishnarajapuram, Bangarapet, Salem, Rasipuram, Namakkal, Karur, Tiruchchirappalli, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur and Nagapattinam.

Karnal:
The Rs 2,200-crore rail coach factory (RCF) to be set up at Sonepat would start with 400 coaches annually and roll out 1,000 coaches when fully commissioned, Minister of state for Railways Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said today.Chowdhary, who was here to lay the foundation stone of a railway under-bridge at Gharaunda, said the rail coach factory would come up on 500 acres and the Haryana Government had expressed its willingness to provide 370 acres “free of cost” for the project.The under-bridge would be a boon for the population of 60 villages which was facing closure of the highway at the railway crossing every 10 minutes with over 100 trains running on this track.The minister said plans were being worked out to extend the Delhi Metro to the National Capital Region (NCR) and Meerut. Terming the Bihar rail tragedy as unfortunate, he said that an inquiry committee has been constituted to probe the incident.Chowdhury said such underbridges would be constructed at other busy places in the state to reduce the number of accidents on railway crossings.

South Central Railway will temporarily augment the following express trains with five additional Sleeper Class Coaches during October, 2013 to clear the extra rush / waitlisted passengers as per the details mentioned below:-           

    1.Tr.No. 12730 H S Nanded - Pune Bi-Weekly Express departing o­n Tuesdays and Sundays                    i.e., o­n 1st, 6th, 8th, 13th, 15th, 20th, 22nd, 27th and 29th October, 2013.

  2.Tr.No. 12729 Pune - H S Nanded Bi- Weekly Express departing o­n Mondays and Wednesdays      i.e., o­n 2nd, 7th, 9th, 14th, 16th, 21st, 23rd, 28th and 30th October, 2013.
  3.Tr.No. 17614 H S Nanded - Pune Weekly Express departing Fridays i.e., o­n 4th, 11th, 18th and    25th October, 2013.
    4.Tr.No. 17613 Pune - H S Nanded Weekly Express departing Saturdays i.e., o­n 5th, 12th, 19th      and 26th October, 2013.
          These 130 additional Sleeper Class Coach services will make available 9360 additional Sleeper Class berths.

दिल्ली- सहारनपुर रेल मार्ग पर कांधला रेलवे स्टेशन के निकट जनता एक्सप्रेस बर्निग ट्रेन बनने से बाल-बाल बची। पटरी पर दौड़ रही जनता एक्सप्रेस ट्रेन के पहिए में ब्रेक का घर्षण होने के कारण दो डिब्बों के बीच आग लग गई। ट्रेन के नीचे आग की लपटें देख यात्रियों में हड़कंप मच गया। कांधला रेलवे स्टेशन पर ट्रेन के पहुंचने पर यात्रियों ने पानी डालकर आग बुझाई। बाद में दस मिनट देरी से चेकिंग के बाद ट्रेन को आगे रवाना किया गया।
दिल्ली-सहारनपुर रेल मार्ग पर जनता एक्सप्रेस ट्रेन का कांधला रेलवे स्टेशन पर पहुंचने का समय रात आठ बजे का है। यात्रियों के मुताबिक गुरुवार को कांधला रेलवे स्टेशन से एक किमी पहले पटरी पर दौड़ रही जनता एक्सप्रेस ट्रेन के दूसरे व तीसरे डिब्बे के बीच आग की लपटें उठने लगी। यात्रियों ने आग की लपटों को देखा, तो डिब्बे में मौजूद यात्रियों में हड़कंप मच गया और महिलाओं व बच्चों में चीख-पुकार मच गई। अनहोनी की आशंका के चलते सभी यात्री पिछले डिब्बे में पहुंच गए। यात्रियों ने चेन पुलिंग करने की कोशिश की, लेकिन ट्रेन नहीं रुकी और नीचे से आग की लपटें बढ़ती चली गई। ट्रेन जैसे ही कांधला स्टेशन पर रुकी, तो यात्रियों ने उतरकर आग पर काबू पाने की कोशिश की और ट्रेन चालक को इसकी जानकारी दी। इसके बाद यात्रियों ने कड़ी मशक्कत के बाद पानी डालकर आग को बुझाया। यात्री वरुण, दीपक, अमित और हरेंद्र के अनुसार ट्रेन को चेकिंग के बाद ही आगे रवाना किया गया। इस कारण ट्रेन करीब दस मिनट लेट हो गई। शामली रेलवे स्टेशन मास्टर विक्रांत ने बताया कि कांधला रेलवे स्टेशन के करीब जनता एक्सप्रेस ट्रेन के पहिए में ब्रेक शू का घर्षण होने के कारण आग लग गई थी, जिस कारण ट्रेन करीब दस मिनट देरी से आगे रवाना किया गया। गनीमत रही कि कोई हताहत नहीं हुआ।

Kerala has announced a suburban railway project connecting Thiruvananthapuram with Chengannur, near Kottayam.A cabinet meeting gave in-principle nod for the project and decided to initiate its feasibility study. The decision was announced by chief minister Oommen Chandy.He said most parts of the railway line linking Ernakulam to Thiruvananthapuram had been made double lane. Additional lanes for the suburban service would not incur much expense when compared with Kochi metro and mono rail projects.The proposed railway line would have high speed trains, and stops in main towns. Chengannur is the nearest railway station to the Sabarimala temple.The Cabinet also gave administrative sanction to implement road renovation projects with an estimated cost of Rs 433 crore.  It also approved the market intervention schemes of civil supplies  and co-operative departments during the festive season in order to regulate prices of essential commodities.Delving into the solar scam case, Chandy said the terms of references of the judicial inquiry would be announced soon, besides he expressed his willingness to include the involvement of his office into the scam in the terms of references of the inquiry.

Twenty railway projects have been held up due to objections raised by the Environment Ministry, Lok Sabha was informed today.Maximum of five rail projects are held up in East Coast zone which include the 82 km long Haridaspur-Paradeep new line, the 98 km long Angul-Sukinda Road new line and the 25 km long Talcher-Bimlagarh new line projects where forest land is yet to be transferred to railways.
