PATNA: The Bihar government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with a consultant - Rites Ltd - for feasibility study and Detailed Project Report preparation for the proposed 30-km Patna Metro railway project, officials said on Tuesday.The MOU was signed between the Rites Ltd Director (Projects) Arbind Kumar and Urban Development Secretary S Siddarth yesterday.Under the agreement, RITES Ltd will be required to submit the feasibility report by September, 2013 and DPR by December, 2013, they said.In its scope of works, the consultant will be required to identity the mass transit corridors on the basis of detailed traffic demand assessment study, topographic survey, soil survey at 500 meters interval on the proposed stretch among other measures, they said. |

LUCKNOW: The movement of trains was affected due to heavy rain and waterlogging on the tracks in Ambala division on Monday.The 12231 Lucknow-Chandigarh Express and 15011 Lucknow Junction-Chandigarh Express scheduled on Sunday (June 16) were short terminated at Saharanpur and cancelled between Saharanpur and Chandigarh.The 12358 Amritsar-Kolkata Superfast Express, 15210 Amritsar-Saharsa Janseva Express, 12688 Chandigarh/Dehradun-Chennai Express and 12332 Jammu Tawi-Howrah Himgiri Express (scheduled on June 16) were diverted via Delhi-Ambala route.The 12317 Sealdah-Amritsar Akal Takhat Express and 15209 Saharsa-Amritsar Janseva Express (of June 16) were diverted via Najibabad-Gajraula-Ghaziabad-Adarsh Nagar Delhi-Ambala.The 14712 Sriganganagar-Haridwar Intercity Express and 12054 Amritsar-Haridwar Jan Shatabdi Express were short terminated at Ambala. Some passenger trains were also cancelled. |
