Hyderabad: People living near Hi-Tec City, Gachibowli and Madhapur have reason to cheer as those bound for Visakhapatnam or Mumbai will soon be able to board their trains at the Lingampalli railway station. Currently, travellers have to go all the way to the Secunderabad station to board the Gowthami or Godavari Express.
    As per the recently launched time table, South Central Railway (SCR) will be providing additional stoppage at Lingampally station for the soon-to-be launched Mumbai Lokamanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) -Visakhapatnam and Kakinada-LTT express trains. Apart from these, SCR will provide additional stoppages at Falaknuma and Malkajgiri to eight new trains announced in this year’s budget. The Jabalpur-Yeshwanthpur Express, Yeshwanthpur-Lucknow Express and Madras-Nagersol Express will be provided stoppage at Malkajigiri. This is expected to benefit people travelling south or north of the state.
    Presently, only 10 popular express trains passing through the city have been provided stoppages at Begumpet and Lingampalli. The intercity express between Secunderabad and Kurnool, which was flagged off recently, has been provided stoppage at Falaknuma. This is expected to benefit passengers from Old City travelling towards Rayalseema. Officials also feel that this would decongest the Secunderabad station.

अजमेर। रेलवे बोर्ड ने इस साल ग्रुप डी के एक लाख पदों पर भर्ती प्रक्रिया को हरी झंडी दे दी है। रेलवे बोर्ड के कार्यवाहक अध्यक्ष (सीआरबी) अरुणेंद्र कुमार ने बताया कि भर्ती कैलेंडर तैयार किया जा रहा है। अरुणेंद्र कुमार सोमवार को अजमेर आए। उन्होंने रेलवे स्टेशन एवं कारखानों का निरीक्षण किया। 

रेलवे स्टेशन पर सीआरबी अरुणेंद्र कुमार ने पत्रकारों को बताया कि रेलवे में कर्मचारियों की कमी को देखते हुए सभी 16 जोन में करीब एक लाख ग्रुप डी की भर्ती की जाएगी। कैलेंडर ईयर में दिसंबर तक इस प्रक्रिया को पूरा कर लिया जाएगा। प्रत्येक जोन में 6250 पदों पर भर्ती होगी।

अजमेर जोन में सिग्नल, वर्कशॉप, लोको व कैरिज कारखाना, भंडार, इलेक्ट्रिक, अस्पताल, स्टेशन, ट्रैफिक, मंडल कार्यालय और लेखा कार्यालय में ग्रुप डी के रिक्त पदों पर भर्ती की जानी है। हालांकि इस भर्ती से अजमेर को कुछ खास फायदा नहीं होगा। अजमेर में उक्त विभागों को महज 625 पद ही मिल पाएंगे।

Loco pilots shortage affects launch of new services’

The Indian Railways is facing a 10 to 20 per cent shortage of loco pilots, which has affected the launch of new trains, Minister of State for Railways Kotla Jaya Surya Prakash Reddy said.
For new trains, loco pilots are being used from the existing services, which will create further shortage. The railways was training a number of newly-recruited loco pilots.
Their training period should be completed in the next two months and new trains would be introduced after November, he told The Hindu on the sidelines of the launch of the new train from Puducherry to Kanyakumari here on Monday.
Mr. Reddy said the railways was working with the Territorial Administration on the location of the new railway station for Puducherry. Once the issue was settled, the UT would receive a new station at the cost of Rs. 400 crore.
The location of the station would also help determine the course of the new line, he said.
Additional General Manager of Southern Railways G. Narayanan said the Mamallapuram to Puducherry stretch of the line was being finalised.
Presently, the railways was working to bring three new trains to the Union Territory – the extension of the Bangalore to Nagore train to Karaikal, which would start in the next two days, the extension of the Mangalore-Tiruchi train to Puducherry and the Tirupati to Puducherry train. The trains were awaiting notification and they would be introduced in the next three months.
Speaking at the function, Union Minister of State for the Prime Minister’s Office V. Narayanasamy said steps would be taken to upgrade amenities at the Puducherry railway station, including an escalator to facilitate movement between the two platforms

Railways minister Mallikarjun Kharge has laid the foundation stone for doubling of the 245-km-long railway line on the Hospet-Tinaighat section at Londa. The cost of this project is estimated at Rs 928.85 crore.

The Hospet-Hubli-Londa-Tinaighat is a section of the Bellary-Hospet-Vasco da Gama route (407 km) under the South Western Railway. This was converted from metre gauge to broad gauge in 1997.

The railway line passes through Bellary, Koppal, Gadag, Dharwad, Belgaum and Uttara Kannada districts of Karnataka. Bellary-Hospet region in Karnataka is the heart of iron ore industry in the country. Iron ore from here is transported to Chennai and Goa ports for export. The doubling will enable movement of imported coal from Marmagao Port to the steel industries and upcoming thermal plants at Jevargi in Gulbarga district and expansion of Bellary thermal power station.

PATNA: The new IBPS' ( Institute of Banking Personnel Selection) directives on eligibility criteria for recruitment of probationary officers have created a stir among various student organizations in the city.Members of All India Students' Federation (AISF) on Monday gheraoed Bank of Baroda's CMD S S Mundra, who was here to inaugurate new branch of the bank, to lodge their protest against the changes in the eligibility criteria.Mundra, however, announced he will take up their demands to the IBPS management.According to the new norms, the students have to obtain 60% marks in graduation and s/he should not be more than 28 years of age, while the old norm had set 30 years as the upper age limit to apply for the post. The students demanded withdrawal of the new criteria and cut in the examination fee from Rs 600 to Rs 400.Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) also took out a protest march from Patna University to DM's office and locked the gate of the office for hours on Monday to protest change in the eligibility criteria of IBPS examination. They also submitted a letter to the DM in this regard.The All India Students' Association too has announced that they will block the rail lines at Patna Junction and Chitkohra Bridge on Tuesday morning to protest the new rules.

ट्रेन में सफर करते समय अगर आप पेंट्रीकार का खाना खाते हैं, तो सावधान हो जाइए। यह खाना आपकी सेहत के लिए महंगा भी पड़ सकता है। साफ-सफाई के अभाव में गंदगी के बीच तैयार हो रहा खाना आपको मुश्किल में डाल सकता है।ऐसी स्थिति मुजफ्फरपुर जंक्शन से खुलने व गुजरने वाली कई ट्रेनों के पैंट्रीकार की है। सोमवार को मुजफ्फरपुर से आनंद बिहार जाने वाली सप्तक्रांति व पवन एक्सप्रेस के पैंट्रीकार में जब जागरण टीम गई तो वहां का नजारा देख कर भौचक रह गई। गंदगी के बीच भोजन तैयार किया जा रहा था। इस दौरान कई यात्री भी पैंट्रीकार में खाने-पीने का सामान लेने पहुंचे और गंदगी देख वेंडरों पर बरस पड़े उन्होंने रेलवे अधिकारियों से इसकी शिकायत भी की। यात्रियों का कहना था कि पैंट्रीकार में जिस तरह गंदगी है उसे देखने के बाद कोई खाना नहीं खा पाएगा।उधर सप्तक्रांति के मैनेजर का कहना था कि यार्ड में करीब एक माह से पैंट्रीकार की सफाई के लिए निजी कंपनी व रेलकर्मी नहीं आ रहे हैं, जिसके कारण दिक्कत हो रही है। कई बार इस संबंध में शिकायत की गई, लेकिन कोई सुनने वाला नहीं है। मजबूरी में वेंडरों से सफाई करवानी पड़ रही है।

मालूम हो कि रेलवे बोर्ड ने एक साल पहले ट्रेनों व पैंट्रीकार की सफाई का जिम्मा निजी कंपनी को दिया था। छह माह तक निजी कंपनी ने सफाई की। इसके बाद वेतन भुगतान का मामला अटकने पर हाथ खड़ा कर दिया। इसके बाद रेलकर्मियों को जिम्मा दी गई, लेकिन सफाई राम भरोसे है।


पैंट्रीकार में कीड़ा मारने की दवा का नहीं हो रहा छिड़काव

मुजफ्फरपुर : पवन एक्सप्रेस, सप्तक्रांति, अवध एक्सप्रेस, गरीब रथ, बिहार संपर्क क्रांति, बांद्रा एक्सप्रेस के पैंट्रीकारों में कीड़ा मारने वाली दवा का छिड़काव नहीं हो रहा है। इससे यहां तेलचट्टा, चूहा आदि की भरमार रहती है। इसके अलावा अन्य कीड़े-मकोड़े भी यहां टहलते रहते हैं। दवा का छिड़काव न होने का कारण पैंट्रीकारों के प्लेटफार्म पर खाली नहीं करना बताया जाता है।

पैंट्रीकार व ट्रेनों की सफाई के लिए कोचिंग डिपो के कर्मियों को नियुक्त किया गया है। पन्द्रह दिनों में दवा का छिड़काव करना है। यदि सफाई व दवा का छिड़काव नहीं होता है, तो जांच होगी। पवन एक्सप्रेस का पैंट्रीकार खाली नहीं किया जाता है, तो उसपर जुर्माना लगाया जाएगा।

‘Bangalore City and Yeshwanthpur cannot take more trains’

Railway Minister M. Mallikarjun Kharge has said that the Railways was considering developing the Yelahanka Railway Station in Bangalore as a full-fledged third terminus to overcome the shortage of platforms at Bangalore City and Yeshwantpur railway stations.

Government Railway Police, Vijayawada division, Superintendent of Police (SP) Ch. Syam Prasad Rao has said the crime rate has come down in railway stations and on moving trains, due to visible policing, in the last six months.Speaking at the half-yearly crime review meeting here on Monday, Mr. Prasad Rao said the property offences or cases of murder for gain have come down when compared to the half-yearly report of the last three years.However, two dacoity cases were reported and the police detected one case.He said instructions were given to the police to be alert during nights on moving trains and coordinate with the Travelling Ticket Examiners (TTEs) to prevent thefts and sought the cooperation of the public to check crime rate.Police Sub-Controls have been set up in Vijayawada and other railway stations for keeping a vigil on strangers, thieves, pick-pockets, and anti-social elements. Passengers can lodge complaints with the Sub-Controls without going to the police station, which would be located on platforms. Efforts are on to install more sub-controls, he said.

Guntakal division SP P. Muni Swamy, who is also in-charge for Secunderabad Division, said encouragement from South Central Railway (SCR) officials was good and asked the railway constables to provide a safe journey for passengers.

Earlier, Divisional Railway Manager Pradeep Kumar inaugurated the programme.

He said the Indian Railways was improving facilities in the stations. Mr. Pradeep Kumar praised the railway SP for introducing innovative methods to prevent crimes.
