WR INTRODUCES NEW WEEKLY EXPRESS BETWEEN INDORE-YESVANTPUR

Western Railway will introduce a new weekly express between Indore and Yesvantpur o­n 4th August, 2013. The regular service of the train will start from 6th August 2013 Ex Yesvantpur and from 11th August, 2013 Ex Indore.

The inaugural run of the train will be run as Train No.09301 Ex Indore o­n 04/08/2013 (Sunday) at 14.15 hrs which will reach Yesvantpur at 06.30 hrs o­n Tuesday.

In its regular run from 11/08/2013 Train No 19301 Indore-Yesvantpur Weekly Express will leave Indore every Sunday at 20.55 hrs to reach Yesvantpur o­n Tuesday at 11.15 hrs.

Similarly, Train No 19302 Yesvantpur-Indore Weekly Express will leave Yesvantpur every Tuesday from 6/08/2013 at 13.30 hrs to reach Indore at 05.15 hrs o­n Thursday.

The train will have 2-Tier AC, 3-Tier AC, Sleeper class and general second class coaches.

The train will halt at Dewas, Ujjain, Maksi, Berchha, Shujalpur, Bairagarh, Bhopal, Habibganj, Itarasi, Betul, Narkher, Chandur Bazar, New Amarawati, Akola Jn., Hingoli, Purna Jn., Huzur Saheb Nanded, Mudhked, Nizamabad, Kamareddi, Malkajgiri, Kacheguda, Mahbubnagar, Gadwal, Kurnool City, Gooty Jn., Dharmavaram Jn. and Yelahanka Jn in both directions.

        In viewof agitation at Dharmavaram Station, South Central Railway will divert / Partially Cancel / Cancel the following trains as detailed below:

I.Trains Diverted:

1)Train No. 11013 Mumbai LTT-Coimbatore Express, departed Mumbai LTT o­n 31stJuly, 2013 is diverted to run via Guntakal, Bellary, Chikajajur and Bangalore.

II.Trains Partially Cancelled:

1)Train No. 57475 Tirupati-Guntakal Passenger which departed Tirupati at 09 20 hrs o­n today i.e., o­n 1st August, 2013 is partially cancelled between Kadiri and Guntakal and will run back as Train No. 57476 from Kadiri to Tirupati.

2)Train No. 57476 Guntakal-Tirupati Passenger which departed Guntakal at 07 00 hrs today i.e., o­n 1st August, 2013 is partially cancelled between Dharmavaram and Tiruapti and will run back as Train No. 57475 from Dharmavaram to Guntakal.

3)Train No. 564504 Vijayawada-Yesvantapur passenger which departed Vijayawada o­n 31stJuly, 2013 is partially cancelled between Anantapur and Yesvantapur and will run back as Train No. 56503 from Anantapur to Vijayawada.

4.Train No. 56503 Yesvantapur-Vijayawada passenger which departed Yesvantapur at 08 00 hrs today i.e., 1st August, 2013 is short terminated at a convenient station o­n South Western Railway.

III.Trains Cancelled:



1)Train No. 57437 Guntakal-Hindupur passenger is cancelled o­n 1st August, 2013.

2)Train No. 57438 Hindupur-Guntakal is cancelled o­n 2nd August, 2013.

3)Train No. 57478 Guntakal-Tirupati passenger is cancelled o­n 1st August, 2013.

          4)  Train No. 57477 Tirupati-Guntakal Passenger is cancelled o­n 1st August, 2013.

The police fired in the air today as satellite dishes of the All India Radio were set ablaze here in Karbi Anglong district amidst large-scale arson and escalating violence over the demand for a separate state carved out of two Assam districts on the lines of Telangana.

The agitators defied indefinite curfew here and set on fire the satellite dishes of the AIR station halting broadcast and relay and also torched an 'Assam type' wooden waiting room belonging to the radio station, official sources said.

The police fired in the air near the radio station to disperse the agitators, the sources said.

Buildings of the Public Works Department, Forest and Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan offices, constructed of wood, were also set ablaze across the district, the sources said.

The agitators ransacked the office of the Assam Sahitya Sabha here and damaged property and books, they said.

A portion of the railway tracks of the Diphu-Dimapur line was removed at a place between Doldoli and Dhansiri, the sources said.

A 22-year-old college student, Rahul Signa, who was injured in police firing, when he was locking up his father's shop after violence broke out yesterday, died of his injuries late last night, the sources said.

The agitators belonged to the Karbi Students Association, Karbi Riso Adorba, NSUI and other organisations.

With para-military forces on patrol, the district administration had imposed indefinite curfew and called in the Army to assist yesterday.

Meanwhile, the Hills State Democratic Party has called a 100-hour bandh in the two hill districts of Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao from August 5 to reinforce the demand for a separate Karbi Anglong state.

Mumbai Rail Vikas Corporation (MRVC) officials said more than half of the work on Andheri, Jogeshwari and Goregaon railway stations’ makeover project has been completed and commuters can look forward to the March 2014 deadline to avail the facilities of the three new stations.
In order to extend the Harbour line to Goregaon, which terminate at Andheri station, a major remodeling work is being carried out at the stations. MRVC is carrying out the work under the Mumbai Urban Transport Project-II at a budget of Rs103 crore.
The booking offices at Andheri station have been demolished and a temporary arrangement has been made for the counters. Platform nos 6 and 7 of the station, currently used for Harbour line services, will be demolished. A new home platform is being built at the north end of the existing location to align it with other platforms. However, the station will still retain all nine platforms.
“We had planned things in such a way so that the rains don’t hamper our work. Almost 60 per cent of the work has been completed in terms of extension of the Harbour line and other things,” said Prabhat Ranjan, chief PRO, MRVC.
However, construction of the Oshiwara station will take some time. “We don’t see that happening before mid 2014. The BMC has to construct the road overbridge, which is not possible soon,” said Ranjan.
Work on the Oshiwara station was stopped in between as residents opposed the shutdown of the level crossing, which connected the east and the west sides of the suburbs. As a result, work got delayed.
On the other hand, WR has completed the construction of an elevated deck, measuring 400 metre in length and five metre in width. It will be connected to the foot overbridge (FoB). So, passengers alighting from autorickshaws and elevators can directly descend on the deck. All stations will be connected through the FoB. The new station building has already come up, which will house the reservation office and food plaza.
“The deck will reduce ground congestion. Ninety per cent of the work has been completed. The rest is expected to be completed in a month,” said Nitin David, PRO of WR. “The escalator will be also installed soon,” he promised.
Commuters, too, are looking forward to next March. “We are awaiting the revamp as commuting will become easier,” said Srija Bose, who commutes to south Mumbai from Goregaon for work.

A suburban corridor and automatic signalling have been mooted by the Railways to introduce more trains and Mainline Electric Multiple Units (MEMU) to end hardship faced by commuters, especially short-distance commuters.Participating at a meet-the-press of the Press Club here on Wednesday, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Rajesh Agrawal said the Railways had submitted a proposal to the government on automatic signalling, which could be justified only for such corridors.Thiruvananthapuram is an ideal location for setting up a suburban corridor and the first one could be Thiruvananthapuram–Kayamkulam. Taking into account the special situation in the State and the overdependence on trains, the DRM said special passenger trains and air-conditioned MEMU services would have to be operated for short-distance commuters.In reply to a question on the fate of the coaching depot at Nemom, the DRM said the proposal was still under consideration. “The division will move ahead with the proposal,” he added.On the crackdown on season ticket travellers in reserved coaches of long-distance mail and express trains, Mr. Agrawal said complaints from reserved travellers had compelled Railways to take strict action. He said travellers should reserve tickets or travel in de-reserved coaches.

To a query on the shortage of travelling ticket examiners and stationmasters, Mr. Agrawal said accountability-levels had increased and hence the stationmasters were required to do additional jobs and take up additional responsibilities. “There will be opposition and some levels of discomfort, but everything has been done objectively. But if need be, additional staff will be provided,” he added.

Detailing on the upgrade of facilities at the Kochuveli and Kazhakuttam railway stations, the DRM said Kochuveli had been upgraded from level D to B category.

The South Central Railway (SCR) will run six special trains between Lingampalli and Kakinada Town via Guntur Railway Division in order to clear extra rush of passengers in view of Ramzan and the commencement of Sravana Masam, C Ramakrishna, senior divisional commercial manager, SCR, Guntur, said in a press release on Wednesday.

Train no. 07101, Lingampalli-Kakinada Town Special Express, will depart from Lingampalli at 8:40 pm and Secunderabad at 9:40 pm on August 8, 14 and 18.

These trains will arrive in Kakinada Town at 8 am on the next days. In the return direction, train no.07102, Kakinada Town-Lingampalli Special Express train will depart from Kakinada Town station at 10:45 pm on August 8, 14 and 18. These trains will arrive in Secunderabad at 10:10 am/Lingampalli at 11:05 am on the next day.

These trains consist of one AC II tier coach, one AC III tier coach, eight sleeper class, four general second classes and two second class-cum-luggage brake van coaches, totaling sixteen coaches.

Reserved accommodation can be had on general, ladies and senior citizen & pregnant woman quotas besides Tatkal which will be opened one day in advance to the concerned service date. The accommodation has already been released over Passenger Reservation System accessible through railway reservation counters and Internet.

Enroute, these special trains stop at Begumpet, Secunderabad, Malkajgiri, Nalgonda, Miryalaguda, Nadikudi, Guntur, Vijayawada, Eluru, Tadepalligudem, Rajahmundry and Samalkot stations in both the directions.

लोकमान्य टिळक टर्मिनस (एलटीटी) गाठण्यासाठी प्रवाशांची होणारी दैना दूर करण्यासाठी मध्य रेल्वेने योजना आखली आहे. आडमार्गावरील एलटीटीकडे जाण्यासाठी मुजोर रिक्षा- टॅक्सीचालकांमुळे प्रवाशांना अनेक समस्या येत असल्याने एलटीटी ते कुर्ला व कुर्ला ते टिळकनगर स्टेशन असा 'ट्रॅव्हलेटर' (सामानासह उभे राहण्याचा सरकता पट्टा) उभारण्याची योजना आहे. 'एस्कलेटर'प्रमाणे 'ट्रॅव्हलेटर' सुरू झाल्यास लाखो प्रवाशांना अवघ्या सात ते आठ मिनिटात एलटीटी गाठणे शक्य होणार आहे.

आंतरराष्ट्रीय विमानतळावर असणाऱ्या ट्रॅव्हेलेटरप्रमाणे मध्य रेल्वेवर प्रथमच ट्रॅव्हलेटर लागणार आहे. प्रवाशांना कुर्ला स्टेशनहून एलटीटीकडे जाणे प्रचंड त्रासाचे असून रिक्षा व टॅक्सीचालकांकडून होणारी लूट व अन्य पर्यायी सुविधांच्या अभावामुळेच हा तोडगा उपयुक्त ठरणार आहे. एलटीटी-कुर्ला-टिळकनगर दरम्यान हा ७०० मीटर लांबीचा ट्रॅव्हलेटर असणार आहे. त्यामुळे प्रवाशांना अवघ्या सात ते आठ मिनिटांत एलटीटी अथवा कुर्ला गाठता येईल, अशी माहिती​ मध्य रेल्वेचे विभागीय व्यवस्थापक मुकेश निगम यांनी दिली.

दोन वर्षे थांबा

या ट्रॅव्हेलेटरसाठी नऊ कोटी रुपये अंदाजित खर्च आहे. आतापर्यंत भारतीय रेल्वेत केवळ भोपाळ येथे अबिदगंज येथे ट्रॅव्हलेटर आहे. त्यानंतर दुसरा ट्रॅव्हलेटर मुंबईत सुरू होत आहे. सांताक्रूझ ते चेंबूर या लिंक रोडचे काम पूर्ण झाल्यावरच हे काम होऊ शकणार असल्याने अजून दीड ते दोन वर्षे लागतील. ट्रॅव्हलेटर झाल्यास एलटीटी हे जागतिक रेल्वे स्टेशन होऊ शकेल. सध्या येथून ५० ते ५५ गाड्या सुटतात व रोज सुमारे सव्वा लाख प्रवासी येथून प्रवास करतात. एलटीटीची नऊ एकर जागा रेल्वेच्या मालकीची आहे. परळ टर्मिनस झाल्यास त्यानंतर एलटीटीचे महत्त्व अधिक वाढणार आहे.

MANGALORE: After Puttur Railway YatriSangha, The Kanyakumari District Railway User's Association (KKDRUA) has joined the chorus in urging the Union railway minister to carve out a separate railway division for Mangalore under South Western Railway (SWR) headquartered in Hubli.The association wants sections of Konkan railway - Karwar up to Madgaon - included in the Mangalore division.P Edward Jeni, secretary of the association, said that the Mangalore Central station, which is one of the primary revenue earner for the Southern Railway, has got its divisional head quarters in Kerala. "It comes under the Palakkad division of the Southern Railway. The zonal headquarters is located in Chennai. It is quite natural that, however, bigger may be the contribution of Mangalore, revenue wise, due to its administrative control located in other states, Mangalore has been getting a raw deal,'' he said.He alleged that the Palakkad division has been eyeing Mangalore just for its revenue especially from the NMPT ( New Mangalore Port Trust) and also for the Mangalore Junction, which is used as a mere dump yard for the trains hat used to primarily serve the Malabar region of Kerala.
"The number of trains from Mangalore towards Kerala, is a clear indication of the fact that the Palakkad division is hardly interested in linking Mangalore with other interior parts of Karnataka,'' he further said.
As a case in point, he cited the example of Yeshwantpur- Mangalore- Kannur express (via Mysore) that is being operated to help the Malabar region.
After a lot of struggles, a portion of the train, was made to run in the opposite direction from Mangalore to Karwar, the district HQ of Uttara Kannada district, which has been wishing for a direct train connectivity with the state HQ.
A weekly train from Mangalore to Yeshwantpur has been announced to be operated via Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh (Kuppam) to Yeshwantpur. Thus, this train will be getting a unique identity in the Indian Railways of originating from the same state (Karnataka) and ending up in the same state (Karnataka) but being operated through three other different states,'' he rued. indicating how Palakkad division proposes trains from Mangalore with the sole motive of catering to the Malabar region of Kerala as there are limited facilities like pit line and maintenance facilities in major railway stations in Malabar like Kozhikkode, Kannur etc.
Jeni pointed out that due to this the route from Mangalore- Hassan is hardly utilized. He added that the reason cited for operating only few passenger trains via Subrahmanya Road, Hassan section, is that the line is used mainly for freight traffic.
"This is not an acceptable reason as Mangalore is not at all connected with places in Karnataka like Hubli, the HQ of SWR, Bijapur, Gulbarga, Bidar, Raichur etc," he added.

The South Central Railway (SCR) will run six special trains between Lingampalli and Kakinada Town via Guntur Railway Division in order to clear extra rush of passengers in view of Ramzan and the commencement of Sravana Masam, C Ramakrishna, senior divisional commercial manager, SCR, Guntur, said in a press release on Wednesday.

Train no. 07101, Lingampalli-Kakinada Town Special Express, will depart from Lingampalli at 8:40 pm and Secunderabad at 9:40 pm on August 8, 14 and 18.

These trains will arrive in Kakinada Town at 8 am on the next days. In the return direction, train no.07102, Kakinada Town-Lingampalli Special Express train will depart from Kakinada Town station at 10:45 pm on August 8, 14 and 18. These trains will arrive in Secunderabad at 10:10 am/Lingampalli at 11:05 am on the next day.
