Dhanbad station has chugged into the top class.
It has become the first in Jharkhand to bag A1 status, which means that from now on, passengers boarding trains from there will be able to enjoy a host of extra amenities starting from pre-paid taxi service to air coolers on platforms.
Dhanbad railway division received a faxed message, confirming the grant of A1 grade to the station, from East Central Railway headquarters on Wednesday evening. The message also confirmed that Parasnath and Singrauli stations, which also fall under Dhanbad division, have been upgraded to A category. The division has over 113 stations spread across four states — Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh — under it.
The facilities that Dhanbad station will now boast after its promotion include prepaid taxi service, air-conditioned executive lounge, battery-operated cars for passengers on platforms, trolleys for carrying luggage, escalators and lifts. There will be also separate waiting halls for women,air coolers at each platform and mobile charging points.
The A1 status will also ensure better food facilities at the station and raised platforms.
Although no one-time grant will be provided to the station as a part of the upgrade, funds will be released to carry out these projects as and when necessary.
Senior divisional commercial manager of Dhanbad, East Central Railway, Dayanand said several of these prescribed facilities were already being added to the station, while the rest will come up with availability of funds.
“The prepaid taxi service and parking space will be ready soon after circulating area of the station is developed for which work is going on at full pace. Escalators are also being installed on platform Nos. 2 and 3 and are likely to be completed before September-end,” he added.
Dayanand further said the tender process for establishing a food plaza had already been completed.“The Fast Food Unit will come into existence within a month, while the process for identification of land for setting up the executive lounge is on,” he said.
About raised platforms, Dayanand said: “The height of other platforms (there are seven in total) at Dhanbad station, except Nos. 2 and 3, is slightly lower thanthe standard measurement. Hence, we will raise these two platforms soon.”
The country’s railway stations are divided into seven categories — A1, A, B, C, D, E, F on the basis of their income. Stations having an income of more than Rs 60 crore from passenger fare are grouped under A1 category. Dhanbad station registered Rs 62 crore in 2012-13 to bag that coveted status.
Last year, Dhanbad railway authorities initiated a number of measures to add passenger amenities like CCTV monitoring system for reservation counter, direct enquiry counter, first AC waiting hall for TTEs etc.

For the convenience of passengers, Western Railway has decided to provide stoppage to 12995/12996 Bandra (T) – Ajmer- Udaipur Express train atGodhra station with immediate effect.Accordingly, Train No. 12995 Bandra (T)–Ajmer- Udaipur Express Express train will reach Godhra station at 00.01 hrs & depart at 00.03 hrs.Similarly, in the return direction, Train No.12996 Ajmer- Udaipur– Bandra (T) Express train will reach Godhra station at 06.50 hrs & depart at 06.52 hrs.

These stoppages have been given o­n experimental basis for a period of six months.

Three meet records were established on the second day of the 54th all-India Railway aquatics championship at the ER pool here on Thursday.Sajan Prakash of South Western eclipsed the men’s 800m freestyle record with a performance of 8:38.54s that bettered Marvyn Chen of Western’s time of 8:45.63s.The day’s second record was created by international Sandeep Sejwal of Western in the 100m breaststroke event. His time of 1:03.76s obliterated his own record of 1:03.98 set last year.Another India star Aaron d’Souza of Western lowered the time in the 200m freestyle with an effort of 1:53.40s. The previous mark of 1:56.63s stood in the name of Sajan Prakash set last year.

DHAMARA GHAT (KHAGARIA): Over 50 hours after 28 passengers were crushed under the wheels of speeding Patna-bound 12567 Rajyarani Express on the middle track at Dhamara Ghat railway station on Saharsa-Mansi section under Samastipur division of East Central Railway (ECR) on Monday, the railway has responded swiftly to public demand and installed the public announcement system at the station on Wednesday.

“Was it not like slamming the stable when the horse bolted,” quipped Sanjeev Kumar, an advocate at Saharsa adding “If it had been in place, the tragedy could perhaps be avoided on Monday.”

DRM/Samastipur, Arun Malik told on Thursday that the two of three tracks, which were closed after Monday’s tragedy, would be opened from Friday and signal system and others, which were vandalized, should also become functional in the next few days.

The 12567/12568 Rajyarani Express, and all other trains, passing through Saharsa-Mansi section, have been resumed, and are also sticking to their time schedule, a senior railway official said. The superfast Rajyarani Express shuttling between Saharsa and Patna had in all 19 coaches but at present it has 15 coaches including one AC chair car. Meanwhile, politicians are making a beeline to the families who have lost their dear ones.

Former deputy chief minister and BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi, social welfare minister Praveen Amanullah and ex-MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav were among those who empathized with the kin of those who died in the accident on Monday.

देश में सक्रिय आतंकी संगठन लश्कर-ए-तैयबा ने उत्तर प्रदेश तथा उत्तराखंड के मुख्यमंत्री को बम से उड़ाने की धमकी भरा पत्र भेजा है। इसके साथ ही इस आतंकी संगठन ने उत्तर प्रदेश के मुरादाबाद समेत दर्जन भर रेलवे स्टेशन पर भी बम विस्फोट करने की धमकी दी है। पत्र में हमले की तारीख 28 और 29 अगस्त दी है।
हरिद्वार स्टेशन अधीक्षक को कल शाम एक एक लिफाफा मिला, इसके अंदर पत्र को पढ़कर उनके होश उड़ गए। आतंकी संगठन लश्कर-ए-तैयबा एरिया कमांडर करीम अंसारी के नाम से भेजे पत्र में कहा गया है कि भारत सरकार कश्मीरियों पर जुल्म कर रही है। पाकिस्तानी फौज पर हमला करने के उसे साथ बदनाम भी कररही है। इसका बदला लेने उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री अखिलेश यादव तथा उत्तराखंड के मुख्यमंत्री विजय बहुगुणा को बम से उड़ा दिया जाएगा। इसके अलावा को 28 व 29 को ही हरिद्वार, मुरादाबाद, सहारनपुर, लक्सर, रुड़की, देहरादून व काठगोदाम रेलवे स्टेशन को बम से उड़ाया जाएगा। पत्र में कहा गया है कि भारत सरकार उसके हमला को विफल नहीं कर सकता है।
रेल प्रशासन ने धमकी भरा पत्र मिलने के साथ ही इसकी सूचना तत्काल उत्तर रेलवे मुख्यालय भेज दी है और स्टेशनों पर सुरक्षा व्यवस्था बढ़ा दी गई है। रेलवे पुलिस के अलावा जिला पुलिस से सहयोग मांगा है। रेलवे प्रशासन ने धमकी भरा पत्र जीआरपी हरिद्वार को सौंप दिया है। प्रवर मंडल सुरक्षा आयुक्त रफीक अहमद ने बताया कि पत्र मिलने के बाद आरपीएफ के जवानों को सर्तक कर दिया है और ट्रेन में चेकिंग बढ़ा दी गई है।

उत्तर मध्य रेलवे इलाहाबाद के जीएम आलोक जौहरी के 24 अगस्त के चुनार, विंध्याचल व मीरजापुर स्टेशन के निरीक्षण के मद्देनजर रेल प्रशासन तैयारी में जुट गया है। स्टेशन भवन की रंगाई-पोताई की जा रही है। प्लेटफार्म को साफ-सुथरा किया जा रहा है। शौचालय, प्रतीक्षालय का लुक बदल दिया गया है। ट्रैक की सफाई हो रही है।
उत्तर मध्य रेलवे इलाहाबाद के सहायक वाणिज्य प्रबंधक यहां पर कैंप कर रहे हैं। तैयारियों की मानीटरिंग उनके स्तर से की जा रही है। स्टेशन की व्यवस्था को दुरूस्त किया जा रहा है। आरक्षण, बुकिंग, पार्सल कार्यालय की भी व्यवस्था ठीक की जा रही है। रेलवे कालोनी परिसर में साफ-सफाई की जा रही है। जगह-जगह कूड़ों को हटाया जा रहा है। जर्जर तारों को भी बदला जा रहा है। डिप्टी एसएस कार्यालय की वायरिंग ठीक की जा रही है। सुरक्षा का चौकस प्रबंध किया जा रहा है। एक नंबर प्लेटफार्म पर खराब पड़ी टच मशीन को ठीक किया जा रहा है। स्थानीय स्तर पर एसएस सुभाष सिंह की देखरेख में तैयारी चल रही है।
डीआरएम द्वारा 17 अगस्त को लूसा रेलवे स्टेशन पर तैनात सिग्नल मैन को निलंबित किए जाने के बाद भी वहां की टोकन सिग्नल की खराबी दूर नहीं हो पाई है। मेमो पर ट्रेनों को चलाया जा रहा है। इसको लेकर रेलकर्मी परेशान रहते हैं। ट्रेनों की स्पीड भी थम गई है। इस रूट पर मूरी एक्सप्रेस, त्रिवेणी एक्सप्रेस, स्वर्ण जयंती एक्सप्रेस का ठहराव यहां पर नहीं है। इन ट्रेनों के लिए टोकन की व्यवस्था की जाती है।

आसनसोल मंडल के प्रधानखांटा एवं सीतारामपुर स्टेशन के बीच 23 अगस्त से 16 दिन के लिए प्रत्येक मंगलवार बुधवार और शनिवार को 13.25 बजे से 16.40 बजे तक एवं प्रत्येक शुक्रवार को 13.30 बजे से 16.45 तक 3 घंटे 15 मिनट तक ट्रैफिक ब्लाक की आवश्यकता होगी।
आसनसोल रेल मंडल के जनसंपर्क विभाग की ओर से बताया गया है कि आसनसोल मंडल के प्रधानखांटा से सीतारामपुर सेक्शन के मुगमा और सीतारामपुर स्टेशन के बीच डाउन कार्ड लाइन पर ट्रैक अनुरक्षण कार्य के लिए दिनांक 23 अगस्त से 18 सितंबर तक 16 दिन के लिए ब्लाक की आवश्यकता होगी। जिसके कारण 53322 धनबाद आसनसोल पैसेंजर का समय 1 घंटा 30 मिनट पहले कर दिया गया है। अर्थात उन दिनों धनबाद से 13.10 बजे के बदले 11.40 बजे खुलेगी।
काली पहाड़ी और रानीगंज स्टेशन के बीच संबंधित मरम्मत कार्य के कारण 23 अगस्त व 27 अगस्त को दोपहर 2.30 बजे से 4.30 तक दो घंटे तक ट्रैफिक ब्लाक रहेगा।
बुधवार की शाम रेल मंडल के जनसंपर्क विभाग की ओर से एक प्रेस विज्ञप्ति से जानकारी दी गयी है कि ब्लाक के दौरान 63522 आसनसोल ब‌र्द्धमान मेंमू पैसेंजर आसनसोल से 4.10 बजे के बदले 4.35 बजे खुलेगी। जबकि डाउन तूफान एक्सप्रेस को 80 मिनट नियंत्रित कर चलाया जाएगा।

KEONJHAR: A small portion of railway lines were damaged when a landmine planted by Maoists went off at Harichandanpur area of Odisha’s Keonjhar district police sources said today.

None was hurt in the incident on Jakhpura-Bansapani railway line between Sagadpata and Tangiriapal yesterday, the sources said.

Since only a small portion of the track was damaged, train services on the route remained unaffected. A detonator and some wire were recovered from the spot.
