मुजफ्फरपुर-नरकटियागंज रेलखंड के बापूधाम मोतिहारी स्टेशन गुरुवार की शाम जलने से बच गई। जानकारी के मुताबिक शाम 6.20 के आसपास मोतिहारी स्टेशन के ऊपर से गुजरी हाईटेंशन केबुल में शार्ट सर्किट से अचानक आग लग गई और केबुल धू-धूकर जलने लगा। आग लगने की जानकारी लगते ही स्टेशन पर अफरातफरी मच गई। स्टेशन के यात्री डर के मारे इधर-उधर भागने लगे। इस दौरान कई महिला यात्री मामूली रूप से चोटिल भी हो गये। केबुल में आग लगने की जानकारी मिलते ही रेल प्रबंधन ने फौरन लाइन काटने का निर्देश दिया। लाइन कटने के बाद भी आग बेकाबू हो रहा था। हालांकि स्थानीय दुकानदारों ने आग पर बालू पानी फेंककर काबू पाया। लाइन कटने के बाद बापूधाम मोतिहारी स्टेशन पर पूरी तरह अंधेरा कायम है। इधर स्टेशन अधीक्षक नरेन्द्र प्रसाद बताया कि रेल विद्युत विभाग के जेई राजेश कुमार को अविलंब स्टेशन रोशनी की व्यवस्था बहाल करने का निर्देश दे दिया गया है। समाचार लिखे जाने तक पूरे स्टेशन परिसर में अंधेरा पसरा था।

For the convenience of passengers, Western Railway has decided to provide stoppage to 12995/12996 Bandra (T) – Ajmer- Udaipur Express train atGodhra station with immediate effect.Accordingly, Train No. 12995 Bandra (T)–Ajmer- Udaipur Express Express train will reach Godhra station at 00.01 hrs & depart at 00.03 hrs.Similarly, in the return direction, Train No.12996 Ajmer- Udaipur– Bandra (T) Express train will reach Godhra station at 06.50 hrs & depart at 06.52 hrs.

These stoppages have been given o­n experimental basis for a period of six months.

Babulal Jain, member of the Zonal Rail Users’ Consultative Committee (ZRUCC) of South Western Railway, has urged Mallikarjun Kharge, Minister for Railways, to initiate immediate steps to extend the Yeshwantpur-Ahmedabad weekly AC Express up to Barmer in Rajasthan.

In a letter, Mr. Jain has drawn the attention of Mr. Kharge to the fact that in the Railway Budget presented recently, it had been proposed to extend the Yeshwantpur-Ahmedabad weekly AC Express (train number 19405/19406) up to Barmer, but not implemented so far. According to Mr. Jain, the extension of train services, as proposed, would be the first such facility from south to connect the western part of Rajasthan, especially through the Bhinmal-Jalore-Mokalsar-Samdari route. “As the festival and marriage season is fast approaching, I request you to kindly implement the decision already announced in the budget, at the earliest,” Mr. Jain said.

Three meet records were established on the second day of the 54th all-India Railway aquatics championship at the ER pool here on Thursday.Sajan Prakash of South Western eclipsed the men’s 800m freestyle record with a performance of 8:38.54s that bettered Marvyn Chen of Western’s time of 8:45.63s.The day’s second record was created by international Sandeep Sejwal of Western in the 100m breaststroke event. His time of 1:03.76s obliterated his own record of 1:03.98 set last year.Another India star Aaron d’Souza of Western lowered the time in the 200m freestyle with an effort of 1:53.40s. गोरखपुर-मंडुवाडीह इंटरसिटी एक्सप्रेस से लौट रहे सेनाभर्ती युवकों ने बुधवार की आधी रात सारनाथ में जमकर उत्पात किया। उनके निशाने पर रेलवे ही रही। कारण इंटरसिटी सारनाथ में क्यों रोकी गई। युवकों ने बोगियों व केबिन पर पथराव किया जिससे खिड़कियों के शीशे टूट गए। यात्री चीखने-चिल्लाने लगे। कई यात्रियों को चोटें भी आई। युवकों ने हिरामनपुर क्रासिंग का बूम भी तोड़ डाला। रेलकर्मियों ने घटना की सूचना आरपीएफ को दी लेकिन मौके पर कोई नहीं पहुंचा। यातायात पुलिस ने संकट मोचन का काम किया अन्यथा बवाल बढ़ जाता।
स्थिति बेकाबू होते देख यातायात निरीक्षक एके सिंह ने सारनाथ थानाध्यक्ष जेएन तिवारी को सूचना दी। कुछ ही देर में फोर्स पहुंच गई। हल्का बल प्रयोग करके उपद्रवी युवकों को खदेड़ दिया गया।
रेलकर्मियों ने बताया कि रात 11:15 बजे मंडुवाडीह इंटरसिटी सारनाथ स्टेशन पहुंची और स्टापेज न होने के बावजूद प्लेटफार्म नंबर तीन पर खड़ी हो गई। वहीं वाराणसी सिटी स्टेशन पर खड़ी पवन एक्सप्रेस को सारनाथ होकर पास कराया जाने लगा। इस दौरान इंटरलॉकिंग सिस्टम खराब हो जाने से पवन एक्सप्रेस सिटी में ही खड़ी रह गई। तब तक दरभंगा से नई दिल्ली जाने वाली सुपरफास्ट स्वतंत्रता सेनानी एक्सप्रेस सारनाथ स्टेशन के प्लेटफार्म नंबर दो पर आ गई। इस दौरान डेढ़ घंटे बीत गए। ट्रेन को चलाने की मांग को लेकर इंटरसिटी में सवार युवक स्टेशन मास्टर कार्यालय में घुस गए और हंगामा करने लगे। ट्रेन व केबिन पर पथराव कर दिया।
..अंत तक नहीं पहुंची आरपीएफ
स्टेशन मास्टर सेनापति ने घटना की सूचना कंट्रोल रूम की दी लेकिन सहायता के लिए आरपीएफ अंत तक नहीं पहुंची। काफी मशक्कत के बाद सारनाथ पुलिस ने स्थिति को संभाला। इसके बाद रात 1:37 बजे इंटरसिटी वाराणसी के लिए रवाना की गई।
