  Indian Railways News  / SPECIAL TRAINS BY SR/SOUTHERN RAILWAYS

Southern Railway will run the following Special Trains to clear the extra rush of passengers.

1)Chennai Central – Nagercoil – Chennai Central Garib Rath Specials (via. Erode, Karur): Train Number: 06019 Chennai Central – Nagercoil Garib Rath Special will leave Chennai Central at 23.30 hrs. on 4.4.2012 and arrive Nagercoil at 14.00 hrs. the next day.Train Number: 06020 Nagercoil – Chennai Central Garib Rath Special will leave Nagercoil at 19.40 hrs. on 5.4.2012 and arrive Chennai Central at 10.20 hrs. the next day.The composition of the trains will be 14 AC 3-tier coaches. The trains will stop at Arakkonam, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Karur, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudunagar, Sattur, Kovilpatti, Vanchi Maniyachchi, Tirunelveli and Valliyur. Train Number: 06020 will stop at Perambur also.

2)Chennai Central – Tirunelveli – Chennai Central Superfast Weekly Specials (via. Erode, Karur): Train Number: 06021 Chennai Central – Tirunelveli Superfast Special will leave Chennai Central at 22.30 hrs. on 5.4.2012 & 12.4.2012 and arrive Tirunelveli at 12.15 hrs. the next day. Train Number: 06022 Tirunelveli – Chennai Central Superfast Weekly Special will leave Tirunelveli at 15.10 hrs. on 6.4.2012 & 13.4.2012 and arrive Chennai Central at 03.45 hrs. the next day. The composition of the trains will be 3 AC 2-tier, 3 AC 3-tier, 12 Sleeper Class, 2 General Second Class and 2 luggage-cum-brake van coaches. The trains will stop at Arakkonam, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Karur, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudunagar, Sattur, Kovilpatti and Vanchi Maniyachchi. Train Number: 06022 will stop at Perambur also.

The issuing of advance railway tickets in booking offices through unreserved ticketing system has been stopped temporarily. According to the Railways, the decision has been taken in view of the passenger fare revision that will come into effect from April 1.

  Indian Railways News  / Permanent augmentation of AJMER - CHANDIGARH Garib Rath Express 12983/12984

For the convenience of rail passengers, Railways have decided to augment the train number 12983/12984 Ajmer - Chandigarh- Ajmer Garib Rath Express train with Two AC 3rd Tier coach on permanent basis from 1.4.2012 from Ajmer and from 2.4.2012 from Chandigarh.

  Indian Railways News  / All New MEMU Service between Falaknuma and Bhongir to be Flagged Off

As announced in Railway Budget 2011-2012, South Central Railway will introduce Falaknuma-Bhongir-Falaknuma MEMU Train services at 11:00 hours on 31 March, 2012 from Falaknuma Railway Station.

The inaugural run of Train Number: 67290 Falaknuma - Bhongir MEMU train will be flagged off by Shri Asaduddin Owaisi, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) at 11.00 Hours on 31st March, 2012 at Falaknuma Railway Station in the presence of other Public representatives, dignitories and senior railway officials.

The Regular services will run as per the following schedule:-

1)Train Number:  67290 Falaknuma - Bhongir MEMU Passenger will depart Falaknuma at 06.10 Hours and arriveBhongir at 08.00 Hours

2)Train Number:  67291 Bhongir - Falaknuma MEMU Passenger will depart Bhongir at 09.00 Hours and arriveFalaknuma at 10.40 Hours

3)Train Number:  67292 Falaknuma - Bhongir MEMU Passenger will depart Falaknuma at 14.10 Hours and arrive Bhongir at 16.00 Hours

4)Train Number:  67293 Bhongir - Falaknuma MEMU Passenger will depart Bhongir at 17.00 Hours and arrive Falaknuma at 18.05 Hours
