The filmmaker has roped in 12-year-old Durga to sing in his next, Gangs Of Wasseypur 2 Anurag Kashyap's love for the unconventional isn't restricted to the scripts of his films. The filmmaker, with a good ear for music, had given a break to Band Masters Rangila and Raseela to sing the popular track Emotional Atyaachar in the Abhay Deol, Kalki Koechlin and Mahie Gill starrer Dev.D.And now, he has roped in a train singer, for his latest flick Gangs Of Wasseypur 2. The song, Chi Cha Leather sung by 12-year-old Durga has already grabbed a lot of attention with its unusual lyrics. Hailing from a humble family, Durga has lived in slums all her life. With a passion for singing, she can often be spotted in local trains singing to earn money.When contacted, Anurag told TOI, "The music composer, Sneha, found this fantastic singer Durga. She sings in trains. She is an absolute delight. She sings extremely well." Interestingly, the filmmaker, when asked about the 'Bandmaster Brothers' right after the song Emotional Atyaachar became famous in 2009, had reportedly said that he couldn't contact them. Anurag, then had told a news daily, that folk singers from Himachal Pradesh had sent him a recorded CD, which they liked and had incorporated in the film. The music director Amit Trivedi had claimed, that the crew is not ready to divulge details about the singers.This time around, the filmmaker or his music director seem to be more open about the identity of their new find - Durga. After all, the song Chi Cha Leather has garnered rave reviews in the media instantly.Interestingly, it is the unusual lyrics of the song with a good mix of Hindi and English that has got people talking on public forums. "The flavour of the song is very UP Bihar. Durga's pronunciation of the English words fits in really well. The lyrics are by Varun Grover," said a source close to the project.

New Delhi: Atleast 35 passengers were killed and 25 injured after a coach of the Delhi-bound Tamil Nadu Express caught fire on Monday due to a short circuit near the toilet in a sleeper coach, media reports state. Addressing a press meet, Railway Minister Mukul Roy said that he has ordered a probe into the incident.He assured that the train services on the route have been restored.Reports said, the deputy station master of Nellore station reportedly noticed the fire in the S-11 (Sleeper) coach of the train and brought it to a halt. Passengers were evacuated immediately.Confirming the reports Railway PRO Anil Saxena said that the Nellore train accident occurred at 4:22 am, S11 bogey caught fire. Anil announced that the kin of dead will get Rs5 lakh as compensation and the injured will get Rs1 lakh each.Condoling the deaths in the railway accident, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh asked the Railway Ministry to coordinate relief work with the state government.According to Nellore District Collector Sridhar, the fire was caused due to short circuit near the toilet of the train. The injured have been taken to the Nellore civic hospital.Meanwhile, a special train carrying relatives of the victims will leave for Nellore from Chennai in a short while.

  Indian Railways News  / 32 passengers charred on Chennai bound Tamil Nadu Express near Nellore

Thirty-two train passengers were charred and 25 others injured when a fire broke out in a coach of the New Delhi-Chennai Tamil Nadu Express near Nellore in Andhra Paradesh in the wee early Monday due to a short circuit.Additional DG Railways V S K Kaumudi told PTI that 32 bodies have been recovered so far from the charred S-11 bogie of the train.South Central Railway officials in Hyderabad said 25 people have been injured in the mishap and have been admitted to different hospitals.According to Nellore district officials, the fire was noticed at around 4.15 am by a gateman, who alerted officials.Two fire tenders were rushed to the spot immediately to put out the fire and they managed to restrict the blaze to the S-11 bogie, they said.Nellore District Collector B Sridhar said, “There was a short circuit near the toilet and the train was moving at a speed of 110 kms per hour. It was going to Chennai from Delhi. All the passengers were asleep when the fire broke out at 4:30 AM. People were not able to come out immediately”.”The fire spread fast and the passengers could not come out through one of the doors because of the fire. So the other edge of the coach was to be used. Some people could come out while others succumbed to death,” he said.The bodies have been charred so it is difficult to identify them, Sridhar said.

Additional Joint Collector Laxmikant said the toll could rise up to 35 as some of the bodies are still to be recovered from the charred S-11 compartment.

Nellore district police officials said 14 passengers in the bogie were safe.

Some of the passengers travelling in the train told reporters that smoke engulfed the bogie soon after the fire broke out making it difficult for them to come out.

Railway Minister Mukul Roy has announced an ex gratia payment of Rs 5 lakh each to the next of the kin of those killed in the mishap.

The Railway Minister also announced a payment of Rs 1 lakh each for those who were grievously injured and Rs 25,000 for those who suffered simple injuries.

The Railway Ministry has also ordered an inquiry by D K Singh, Commissioner of Railway Safety of South-Central Circle.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy conveyed his condolences to members of the bereaved families.

A release from the CM's Office said he would visit Nellore to meet those injured in the mishap.

The Chief Minister has asked the Chief Secretary to monitor the relief operations on a minute-to-minute basis and also coordinate with railway officials of Secunderabad and Delhi, the release said.

The S-11 coach looked like a structure of mangled steel put in a furnace.

The coach was brought to the Nellore railway station and normal traffic was restored by around 8.30 am, the South Central Railway officials said.

ALLAHABAD: A meeting between officers of North Central Railway and Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation India Limited was held at NCR headquarters here on Tuesday.

NCR general manager Alok Johri said with the construction of the freight corridor, movement of trains would be more effective on the busy routes. He assured all support for the completion of the project.

Managing director of Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation India Limited RK Gupta said work will begin shortly in the territory of North Central Railway from Mughalsarai to Khurja. Tendering process for the work of stretch from Bhaupur to Khurja has already been initiated.

Land acquisition between Mughalsarai-Bhaupur is going on fast pace and compensation for nearly 70% land has been paid.

The total length of DFCCIL corridor from Mughalsarai to Dadri is about 780 km.
