फिरोजपुर रेल प्रशासन रेल यात्रियों के स्वास्थ्य को लेकर कितना चौकस है, इस बात का खुलासा रेलवे स्वास्थ्य विभाग द्वारा भरे गए पानी के सैंपल की रिपोर्ट से जाता है। यहां करीब 200 स्टेशनों से लिए गए सैंपलों में से 40 नमूने फेल पाए गए हैं। फिरोजपुर रेल मंडल की सेहत महकमे की टीम द्वारा बीते चार माह में मंडल के विभिन्न रेलवे स्टेशनों से पानी के सैंपल लिए गए। इसमें करीब दो सौ सैंपलों में से करीब चालीस सैंपल फेल पाए गए। इसमें फिरोजपुर छावनी, लुधियाना, जालंधर व पठानकोट जैसे बड़े स्टेशन शामिल हैं। गौर हो की पानी की सप्लाई का काम फिरोजपुर रेल मंडल के इंजीनियरिंग विभाग का है, जो यात्रियों को स्वच्छ पेयजल उपलब्ध करवाने में नकारा साबित हो रहा है। वही इस संबंध में फिरोजपुर रेल मंडल के डिवीजनल रेल अस्पताल के सीनियर मेडिकल सुपरिंटेंडेंट एसएम शर्मा का कहना है कि पानी की सप्लाई का काम मंडल इंजीनियरिंग विभाग का है। शर्मा ने बताया कि रिपोर्ट पर कार्रवाई करते हुए इंजीनियरिंग विभाग ने मंडल के सभी रेलवे स्टेशनों पर यात्रियों को स्वच्छ पेयजल की सप्लाई के लिए क्लोरीनेटर लगाने का काम शुरू कर दिया है। वही इस संबंध में फिरोजपुर रेल मंडल के डीआरएम विश्वेश चौबे का कहना है की पानी के सैंपल फेल होने की जानकारी उनके ध्यान नहीं है। वह जल्द ही संबंधित विभाग से रिपोर्ट तलब कर स्वच्छ पेयजल की सप्लाई बहाल करने को कहेंगे। चौबे ने बताया कि रेल यात्रियों को स्टेशनों व ट्रेनों में सुविधा प्रदान करना रेलवे का काम है। इसके लिए वह जल्द ही सभी स्टेशनों का निरीक्षण कर खामियों को दुरुस्त करेंगे। |

The daily flow of passengers at the Kalupur railway station in the city has increased to over 1.40 lakh from the average 90,000 on a daily basis owing to summer vacations.Keeping this in mind, the Railway authorities have managed to increase the number of coaches and trains to ensure all the additional passengers reach their preferred holiday destinations.Seven vacation trains especially connecting to Mumbai and 16 additional coaches in 12 pairs (24 trains) in the existing trains will be utilised to facilitate the mad rush of the passengers at the city’s railway station.Speaking to DNA, sources from the railways department, said that the passenger flow starts increasing from April onwards and to manage it each year, more trains and coaches are required to be added. “This year we have added seven holiday special trains, on the Ahmedabad-Mumbai tracks,” the official said.Six AC three-tier coaches and six sleeper coaches been added to various trains. “We will augment 16 coaches in 24 trains on a temporary basis in several trains from April 27 to June this year,” he said. Of the 16 coaches, three coaches will be augmented from the first week of May. Trains enroute Amritsar, Sonpur, Jammu Tavi, Kanpur, Asansol, Patna, Puri, Kochuvelli, Sultanpur and Madurai will be augmented with these additional coaches. “Each train coach accommodates 78 passengers. So these additional coaches will accommodate around 1,300 more passengers per day,” a source said. Apart from that, paying heed to the rush on the trains on the Ahmedabad-Mumbai route, the Duronto Express has been made a daily train from April 26. “There are seven special holiday trains which connect Ahmedabad and Mumbai,” the source said.Currently there are 54 different trains that connect the two major cities. These trains include both weekly and daily trains, the source added. |

GUWAHATI: Students aspiring for admissions into reputed institutions will get some relief with the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) starting an 'examination special train' from Dibrugarh to Yesvantpur (near Bangalore) in Karnataka. The decision will help students from the northeast appear for joint entrance test for combined medical and engineering colleges in Karnataka. The train will leave Dibrugarh on May 1 at 7pm and reach Yesvantpur at 10.30pm on May 4. For the return journey, the train will leave Yesvantpur at 10.45pm on May 7 and reach Dibrugarh at 9pm on May 10.NFR chief public relations officer S Hajong said: "Every year thousands of students from this region, aspiring for medical and engineering careers, go to Bangalore for appearing in the joint entrance test conducted by Karnataka state. This special train will facilitate them for getting reservation for their smooth and comfortable journey," Hajong said.The train - with six general coaches, seven sleeper coaches, and two SLRs - will also stop at New Tinsukia, Mariani, Dimapur, Furkating, Diphu, Lumding, Hojai, Chaparmukh, Jagiroad, Guwahati, Rangiya, Barpeta Road, New Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, New Coochbeahr, New Jalpaiguri, Kishanganj, Maldah Town, Asansol, Adra, Balasore, Cuttack, Brahmpur, Vishakapatnam, Vijaywada before reaching Yesvantpur. |

You will have to pay more to enter any railway platform from May 1.The ticket will cost Rs. 5. The hike, up from Rs. 3, follows the announcement made in the Railway Budget for 2012-13.All railway zonal offices have been ordered to print new tickets on top priority. Until then, the new rate will be stamped on the existing stock of tickets.For computer generated tickets, the authorities have been asked to modify the software. |
