With a view to provide safety to the road users and to avoid accidents at unmanned Level Crossings, East Coast Railway has taken step to construct Limited Height Sub-way (LHS) near Unmanned Level Crossings in most of the places under its jurisdiction by closing Unmanned Level Crossings.          As a result, the road users will not detain at the Level Crossings till passing of the trains and also the train movement will not be delayed.          As a part of this, the Sambalpur Division of East Coast Railway has commissioned a LHS between Sambalpur City and Maneswar Stations yesterday which has taken o­nly six hours for its installation. The earth under the track was removed by machine and the readymade concrete bridge of 11 feet height and width was placed by a big crane.          The Division has taken Traffic Block between these stations and trains supposed to pass were short terminated from intermediate stations and rescheduled from the originating stations.          Shri Devraj panda, Divisional Railway Manager of Sambalpur Division actively participated in this major safety related work and ensured completion of this work in the specific time, so that, train movements will not be disrupted.

NAGPUR: The Bombay High Court has issued notices to the Railway Minister and the senior personnel officer of South East Central Railway seeking reply on a petition regarding sports quota recruitment. The Nagpur bench of justices Vasanti Naik and Atul Chandurkar, which heard the petition last week, sought the replies within two weeks.

Petitioner Nagpur District Football Association has objected to a condition for recruitment of sportspersons as per the 2002 policy framed by the SECR. The condition requires that a candidate, to qualify for sports quota, must have actually played and merely being a part of the team would not suffice.

The Railways had issued an advertisement for recruitment in the sports quota last August.

Petitioner's lawyer advocate Virat Mishra argued that the condition violates sportsperson's fundamental rights and should be set aside.

प्रतापगढ़। जनरल टिकट काउंटर के कंप्यूटर से तमाम स्टेशन गायब हैं। ऐसे में जनरल टिकट लेने वाले यात्रियों को भारी दिक्कत होती है। टिकट काउंटर पर ऐसे स्टेशनों के टिकट मिलने में कठिनाई का सामना करना पड़ता है जबकि फ्रेंचाइजी काउंटर से यह टिकट बन ही नहीं पाते हैं।
मैनुअल टिकटों को बंद हुए कई साल बीत गए। आरक्षण के साथ ही जनरल टिकट भी कंप्यूटर से प्रिंटेड मिलता है। वर्षों बीतने के बाद भी रेलवे ने ऐसे कई स्टेशनों को अपने कंप्यूटर रूट में फीड नहीं किया जहां से चर्चित ट्रेनें भी चलती हैं। इन स्टेशनों तक पहुंचने के लिए जनरल टिकट पर यात्रा करने वाले यात्रियों के लिए मुश्किल खड़ी हो जाती है। ऐसे यात्रियों को काफी देर इंतजार करना होता है। जब लिपिक खाली होता है तो वह रूट चार्ट निकालता है। इसमें स्टेशन की दूरी तय की जाती है। इसके बाद किमी के हिसाब से टिकट बनाया जाता है। कभी-कभी तो किमी भी तय कर पाना लिपिक के बस में नहीं रह जाता। ऐसे में यात्री जब उच्चाधिकारियों तक पहुंचता है तो उनके निर्देश पर 10 से 50 किमी का ज्यादा किराया लगाकर टिकट बना दिया जाता है। यह ऐसे स्टेशन भी नहीं हैं जो नए बने हों या फिर छोटे हों। यहां से बाकायदा ट्रेनों का संचालन होता है। नवतनवा स्टेशन से दुर्ग एक्सप्रेस चलती है। इस स्टेशन का नाम कंप्यूटर में फीड नहीं है। इसके अलावा प्रतापगढ़ से फतेहपुर वाया कानपुर जाना हो तो उसकी फीडिंग नहीं है जबकि प्रतापगढ़ से फतेहपुर वाया इलाहाबाद जाना हो तो उसकी फीडिंग हैं। इसके अलावा होशियारपुर, उधना, जालना, चकिया, जैसलमेर, नालंदा, करधनी, तनवेल, दागलकोट व जम्मू के पास स्थित कटरा स्टेशन की फीडिंग नहीं है।
जनरल टिकट काउंटर पर होने वाली भीड़ को देखते हुए रेलवे ने शहर में ही दो लोगों को टिकट बनाने की फ्रेंचाइजी दी है। यहां एक रुपया अधिक देकर टिकट लिया जा सकता है। जिन स्टेशनों की फीडिंग नहीं है वहां के टिकट इन काउंटर से नहीं बन सकते। रेलवे के टिकट काउंटर से तो बाबू किमी के हिसाब से टिकट बनाते हैं लेकिन यहां यह व्यवस्था नहीं है।
जनरल टिकट लेने वाले यात्री यदि किसी कारण से यात्रा कैंसिल करते हैं तो उन्हें तीन घंटे के अंदर तक पैसा वापस हो जाता है। जिन स्टेशनों की फीडिंग कंप्यूटर में नहीं है वहां के टिकटों की वापसी संभव ही नहीं है। इसका कारण है कंप्यूटर में स्टेशन शो नहीं होता है। इससे टिकट रिफंड के लिए नहीं डाला जा पाता। यात्रा करने वाले लोगों को इसके चलते चपत लग जाती है।

The railway overbridge (ROB) being constructed in place of Lakkar Pul will be complete by November this year. The work on the ROB was delayed as some part of it was to be constructed by the state government through the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation.This was disclosed in a letter by the Union Railway Minister, Mallikarjun Kharge, to the Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari, who had sought his personal intervention for the early completion of the overbridge.The Railways were supposed to construct two spans, one straight and another curved, while the approach roads were to be completed by the Municipal Corporation.The minister said, while the work on the straight span was expected to be completed by October this year, the work on the curved span would be completed by November this year.The railway bridge portion consists of two separate legs in Y shape and each leg is of two road widths and another leg is on a curve having two spans. The foundation and the sub-structure of the straight span have been completed. The super structure girder for one span has been fabricated, tested and brought to the site for launching and the girder for another span has also been fabricated and is undergoing testing. The work on this span is expected to be completed by October 2013.The foundation and sub-structure of the curved span has been completed while design of the pier cap is in progress and is expected to be completed by November this year.

वर्धा: अमरावती - नरखेड रेल्वेगाडी याच आठवड्यात कार्यरत होणार असल्याची माहिती रेल्वे मंत्रालयाद्वारे खासदार दत्ता मेघे यांच्या कार्यालयात प्राप्त झाली आहे. नरखेड-अमरावती हा रेल्वे मार्ग तयार होऊन बराच कालावधी झाला. घोषणा होऊनही या मार्गावर नवीन रेल्वे गाडी सुरू झाली नसल्याने परिसरातील नागरिकांमध्ये असंतोष व्यक्त होत आहे. मात्र, याच रेल्वे अर्थसंकल्पात नवीन गाडीचा समावेश करून ५११५१-५११५२ या क्रमांकाची रेल्वेगाडी आता कार्यान्वित करण्यात येत असल्याची माहिती मंत्रालयाद्वारे देण्यात आली आहे. यासोबतच भुसावळ-अमरावती रेल्वे गाडीही नरखेड स्थानकापर्यंत नेण्यात येणार असल्याचे सांगण्यात आले. रेल्वेमंत्र्यांच्या या घोषणेचे प्रवाशांनी स्वागत केले आहे.

कानपुर, एक प्रतिनिधि: रेलवे स्टेशन पर आप पहुंचेंगे तो उद्घोषणा सुनाई देगी कि यात्रीगण कृपया ध्यान दें.., हम आपके सफल, सुखद एवं मंगलमय यात्रा की कामना करते हैं। लेकिन रेलवे की यह कामना महज छलावा है, क्योंकि सेंट्रल से रोज गुजरने वाली 320 सवारी ट्रेनों में करीब दो सौ ट्रेनों में आपकी सुरक्षा के लिए पुलिस स्कॉट नहीं होता। यही वजह है कि लुटेरे, बदमाश व जहरखुरान जीआरपी व आरपीएफ की कमजोरी को भांपते हुए ट्रेनों में यात्रियों संग वारदात को अंजाम देकर आराम से निकल जाते हैं और पुलिस बल लकीर पीटता रह जाता है।

सेंट्रल स्टेशन की जीआरपी का स्कॉट मात्र 12 ट्रेनों की सुरक्षा व्यवस्था संभाले है। इतनी ही ट्रेनों का जिम्मा आरपीएफ के पास भी है। इलाहाबाद, लखनऊ, टुंडला, मुगलसराय, झांसी के जीआरपी और आरपीएफ की पुलिस चौकी को भी मिला लें तो करीब 60 से 70 और ट्रेनों में सुरक्षा व्यवस्था बढ़ जाती है। बाकी ट्रेनें राम भरोसे हैं। अब इस कमी की नतीजा जानिए। दिल्ली हावड़ा रूट पर पिछले कुछ वर्षो में सौ से अधिक ट्रेनों में डकैती पड़ चुकी हैं। ये सभी डकैतियां टुंडला से गाजियाबाद के बीच की हैं। जहरखुरानी की 2000 से अधिक घटनाएं हो चुकी हैं। लूट छिनैती की घटनाएं भी साढ़े तीन हजार से ज्यादा हैं। अतिसंवेदनशील क्षेत्रों में सबसे ज्यादा खतरनाक झकरकटी का पुल है। यहां दो ट्रेन यात्रियों की हत्या भी लुटेरे कर चुके हैं।

अंबेडकरनगर : रेल मंत्रालय से जिले को मिली मऊ-आनंद बिहार एक्सप्रेस ट्रेन का संचालन रविवार को प्रारंभ हो गया। दिल्ली के लिए चौथी सीधी ट्रेन की घोषणा रेल बजट 2013 में किया गया था। यह ट्रेन सप्ताह में दो दिन चलेगी।
गत वर्ष रेल मंत्रालय ने जिले से दिल्ली तक सीधी ट्रेन सेवा की सौगात की घोषणा की थी। इसीक्रम में रविवार को मऊ आनंद बिहार एक्सप्रेस ट्रेन का शुभारंभ शुरू हो गया। रविवार को ट्रेन का संचालन विशेष रूप से किया गया। अपराह्न करीब चार बजकर 51 मिनट पर ट्रेन अकबरपुर रेलवे स्टेशन पहुंची। दो मिनट के ठहराव के बाद ट्रेन यात्रियों को लेकर गंतव्य के लिए रवाना हो गई। सोमवार से इसका नियमित संचालन होगा। ट्रेन मऊ से सप्ताह के प्रत्येक शनिवार व मंगलवार को चलेगी। उसी दिन अकबरपुर-लखनऊ होते हुए क्रमश: सोमवार एवं बुधवार को प्रात: साढ़े छह बजे आनंद बिहार टर्मिनल पहुंचेगी। इसी तरह आनंद बिहार से सोमवार और शुक्रवार को चलकर क्रमश: मंगलवार व शनिवार को अकबरपुर होकर मऊ पहुंचेगी। अकबरपुर स्टेशन अधीक्षक सत्यनरायन सिंह ने बताया कि एक एसएलआर, एक एसएल आरडी, छह साधारण यान, छह शयन यान, एसी द्वितीय श्रेणी के एक एवं एसी तृतीय श्रेणी के दो कुल 17 बोगी ट्रेन में लगेंगे।

With the help of police, he started searching when they found the severed head at Padmaraonagar.The physically-challenged person committed suicide by jumping in front of a moving train at the parcel office in Secunderabad station.On Saturday too, panic gripped the residents of Khairatabad when an auto-trolley driver was shifting two bodies covered with a cloth.“We have decided to take precautionary measures such as packing the bodies with cloth to shift them in a vehicle carefully to mortuaries at the Gandhi or Osmania General Hospitals,” said Nampally Inspector G. Lingeswar Rao.

COIMBATORE: Apprehensive about the proposed 15% hike in railway freight tariff from October 1, representatives from various industries in Coimbatore feel that the burden will be too much for them to bear. "The hike has come at a most inopportune time when the entire industrial scenario is down due to factors such as economic slowdown and lack of orders," Coimbatore District Small Industries Association (CODISSIA) president R Ramachandran said. Since industries in the region are going through one of the most difficult times, he urged the government to reverse the proposal."Diesel prices are being hiked on a regular basis and the proposed hike in railway freight tariff will be damaging to industry," he said. Industries are finding it difficult to work out the costs for their products due to these factors. According to him, the proposed hike is contrary to the efforts taken by the same government to implement various measures to boost the growth of MSMEs in the country. "Under these circumstances, chances for cost-cutting seem to be remote and ultimately the added costs are transferred to the consumers," he added.Representatives from MSMEs say that the proposed hike has come as a rude shock to them. "Government has now pushed us into yet another crisis and it will be difficult for the MSMEs to stay competitive," district president of Tamil Nadu Association of Cottage and Micro Enterprises (TACT) J James said. Manufacturers here are mostly dependent on rail for transporting raw materials from northern states to Coimbatore and sending the finished goods to various markets.

"We are already struggling to compete against products made in northern states due to price difference and the proposed hike will have a telling effect on MSMEs here," said James. At a time when the price rise of most products affect the common man, it is feared that the proposed hike in railway freight tariff is expected to result in further increase in prices of commodities. "Such revision of tariff should be announced only in the railway budget and this is not a healthy trend," said K Kathirmathiyon, secretary of Coimbatore Consumer Cause.

The railways has started to revise tariff along the lines of oil companies that hike the prices of fuels regularly. "What is the need for the railway budget when the railways are taking liberty to revise the tariff during the financial year?," he questioned.
