नई दिल्ली. अपनी तमाम वित्तीय दिक्कतों के बावजूद रेलवे अपने कर्मचारियों के लिए 2012-13 हेतु 78 दिन के वेतन के बोनस की घोषणा कर सकती है। रेलवे ने पिछले साल भी अपने कर्मचारियों के लिए इतने बोनस की घोषणा की थी। रेल मंत्रालय के एक वरिष्ठ अधिकारी ने यह जानकारी दी।

उन्होंने कहा, रेल कर्मचारियों के लिए 78 दिन के उत्पादकता सम्बद्ध बोनस की घोषणा को रेल यूनियनों के साथ अंतिम रूप दिया जा रहा है। इसे अंतिम फैसले के लिए कैबिनेट में पेश किया जाएगा। रेलवे कर्मचारियों को हर साल दशहरे से पहले उत्पादकता सम्बद्ध बोनस का भुगतान किया जाता है। बोनस पर कैबिनेट के फैसले से 12.60 लाख अराजपत्रित रेल कर्मचारियों को फायदा होगा।

नेशनल फेडरेशन आफ इंडियन रेलवेमेन के एक पदाधिकारी ने बताया, हमने इस साल 78 दिन के बोनस से अधिक की मांग की है क्योंकि रेलवे ने पिछले साल भी अपने कर्मचारियों को इतना ही बोनस दिया था। लेकिन रेलवे ने वित्तीय दिक्कतों का हवाला देते हुए 73 दिन के बोनस का प्रस्ताव किया है। उन्होंने कहा कि फेडरेशन ने इस पर सहमति नहीं दी और पिछले साल से कम बोनस नहीं स्वीकारने पर जोर दिया और अंतत: 78 दिन के बोनस पर सहमति बनी।

मौजूदा वक्त की बात की जाए तो अभी दुनिया का सबसे लंबा प्लेटफॉर्म पश्चिम बंगाल के खड़गपुर में है जिसकी लंबाई 1072 मीटर है. सूत्रों के मुताबिक गोरखपुर में बन रहे प्‍लेटफार्म के तैयार हो जाने के बाद यहां 26 बोगियों वाले दो ट्रेनों को एक साथ खड़ा किया जा सकेगा.

ये प्‍लेटफॉर्म 7 अक्‍टूबर 2013 से चालू हो जाएगा. साथ ही स्‍टेशन प्रबंधक इस उपलब्धि को गिनीज बुक ऑफ वर्ल्‍ड रिकार्ड में दर्ज कराना चाहते हैं. गोरखपुर से रोजना तकरीबन 170 ट्रेनों का आवागमन होता है.

Kochi: Extending support to the Kochi Metro Rail Limited in resolving the issue of acquiring the playground of St Albert’s College for the metro rail project, the Greater Cochin Development Authority (GCDA) chairman N.Venugopal has initiated discussions with the District Collector.Addressing the media here on Tuesday, the GCDA chairman said he had already taken up the matter with District Collector P.I Sheikh Pareeth.“Disputes related to the acquisition of St Albert’s College playground near Jawaharlal Nehru stadium can be easily resolved by handing over alternative land to the college. The vacant land behind the High Court owned by the Kerala State Housing Board can be given to the college as a playground”, said Venugopal.The GCDA’s effective intervention will give an impetus to the preparatory works of the metro rail project.The metro authorities are planning to set up the operational control centre (OCC) on 52 cents of land near the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium at Kaloor.Of the 52 cents, 40 cents from the 4.65 acres of land in possession of the college will be acquired and the rest will be from the GCDA.“I have already talked to the Collector and asked him to consider the proposal of handing over the vacant land. Since the ground near the stadium was given to the college on lease, an equal area of land can be provided for a long term lease”, added the GCDA chairman.Meanwhile, the GCDA has also expressed willingness to hand over land for road widening near the A.L. Jacob railway overbridge.

Central Railway has decided to run 2 Air-conditioned Superfast special trains between Lokmanya Tilak Terminus and Hazarat Nizamuddin to clear the extra rush of passengers.The details are as under –

02109 AC Superfast special train will leave Lokmanya Tilak Terminus on Tuesday 08.10.2013 at 14.30 hrs and arrive Hazarat Nizamuddin at 10.20 hrs next day. 02110 AC Superfast special train will leave Hazarat Nizamuddin on Wednesday 09.10.2013 at 15.50 hrs and arrive Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 11.50 hrs next day.

Halts: Nasik Road, Bhusawal, Bhopal, Jhansi, Gwalior and Agra Cantonement.

Composition: one AC First Class, Three AC-2 tier, Ten AC-3 tier, 2 Generators cum guard’s brake vans and one Pantry car.

Kochi: The newly-launched Punalur-Guruvayur fast passenger train service is a hit among passengers and the railways is considering a proposal to introduce two sleeper coaches in the daily train running at peak hour.

Kodikunnil Suresh MP “The Madurai divisional railway manager has forwarded the proposal to the Southern Railway headquarters, Chennai.

The Railway Board is likely to give its nod soon. Already, the Madurai-Kollam passenger has the reservation facility”.

The initiative was taken in the wake of many enquiries, particularly from elderly people, travelling to Guruvayur.

The timing is convenient for devotees to avoid overnight stay and is useful for office-goers.

The train covers the Thrissur-Kottayam stretch in the morning peak hour, said Suresh, who is also the minister of state for labour.

The train covers 294.6 km and has 27 halts. Train No 56366 Punalur-Guruvayur departs at 5.30 p.m. and arrives at the destination at 2.15 a.m.

Similarly, Train No 56365 Guruvayur-Punalur departs from Guruvayur at 6 a.m. and reaches the destination at 2.30 p.m.

The railway police has asked for a list of firms and employees engaged in loading parcels on trains at Mumbai Central. But WR refused to give details, saying police has no right to seek such information.

The Western Railway (WR) has crossed swords with the railway police over its demand for details of cargo operators and the parcels loaded at Mumbai Central terminus. The railway police has asked for a list of firms and the employees engaged in loading parcels on long-distance trains at Mumbai Central and the parcels that passed through the terminus between January 1 and August 31 this year. But WR has refused to give the details, saying the police has no right to seek such information. Rajendra Trivedi, senior inspector with Mumbai Central railway police, said they required this information in connection with the investigation of gutkha smuggling.

The information was sought by September 30, and the railway police has in a letter to WR warned of legal action against railway officials for not providing the information.

WR officials said that while the police had every right to inspect any parcel if they had information of illegal contents, asking for details of companies that were on contract to collect and load parcels, under the railways’ leaseholding policy, right down to the names of porters, was asking for too much.

An average 190 tonnes of parcels comes into Mumbai Central and about 200 tonnes goes out on trains from the terminus daily and WR earns about Rs40 crore from this business annually.  “We ourselves check some 20% of all the parcels being loaded,” said a railway official. “The railway police, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) are free to do so according to the rules.”

This matter has been brewing since the police told WR that it would not allow trucks which were not registered in Mumbai to enter the Mumbai Central terminus. This agitated railway officials as a large number of parcels are from places outside Mumbai, like Bhayandar and Bhiwandi, from where cargo companies bring the parcels in their trucks. WR officials complained to railway police commissioner, Prabhat Kumar, against the diktat.

In July, four trucks carrying bags containing cash and gold and diamond jewellery were seized in a joint operation by the National Investigation Agency and the Income Tax department.

Abohar: The delay in making the Sriganganagar-Hanumangarh broad gauge rail link operational has triggered a stir beginning with a dharna by the members of the Railway Passengers Association and Daily Commuters Association at Sadulshehar, 30 km from here today.The action committee has also launched a signature campaign to condemn Lok Sabha Congress member Bharat Ram Meghwal who had been repeatedly claiming that he had spoken to the Railway Minister and senior railway officials to run the trains soon. Some members of the Railway Consumers Consultative Committee too had been making “false” claims, the protesters added.The protesters said that Divisional Railway Manager Manju Gupta had clearly stated that the Chief Railway Safety (CRS) Officer based at Mumbai will inspect the track after completion of underbridges but the MP and his associates keep on misleading the people.The action committee members found that construction of an under-bridge on Budharwali-Kaluwala stretch was in limbo as a wall of the underbridge near Banwala had collapsed. As per schedule, rail services were to be resumed on the Sriganganagar-Hanumangarh section after gauge conversion work by March this year but it has been delayed.In an official release, Meghwal today blamed senior railway officials for the piquant situation and promised to send his representative to Mumbai on October 5 to fix the date for CRS’s visit for inspection.

आगरा: रेलवे की ऐतिहासिक रामलीला में पिछले 44 साल में जो नहीं हुआ, वह सचिव पद को लेकर हो रही खींचतान के चलते अब हो रहा है। रेलवे अफसरों की नौटंकी से रामलीला खतरे में पड़ गई है। मेघनाद, रावण के पुतले के निर्माण का कार्य ठप हो गया है। कर्मचारी एक- दूसरे पर शब्दभेदी बाण छोड़ रहे हैं।
कैंट स्थित रेलवे इंस्टीट्यूट में रेलवे अफसरों व क्षेत्रीय लोगों की मदद से वर्ष 1969 में रामलीला शुरू हुई थी। इसके मंचन में कोई दिक्कत न हो, इसके लिए 14 सदस्यीय कमेटी गठित की गई। तब से हर साल कमेटी रामलीला को बेहतर तरीके से कराने का प्रयास कर रही है। इसमें क्षेत्रीय लोग विभिन्न पात्रों का किरदार अदा करते हैं। इसके लिए एक माह पहले ही रिहर्सल शुरू कर दी जाती है। इस साल भी लोगों ने रेलवे इंस्टीट्यूट में रिहर्सल शुरू कर दी है, लेकिन कमेटी में सचिव पद को लेकर विवाद हो गया। सितंबर के दूसरे सप्ताह में कमेटी के 14 में से 11 सदस्यों ने सचिव निजाम को पद से हटा बलजीत सिंह को सचिव बना दिया। इसका सचिव निजाम ने विरोध किया और फिर पद को लेकर खींचतान शुरू हो गई। इसमें रेलवे अफसरों ने अहम रोल अदा किया। इसका असर रामलीला की तैयारियों पर पड़ा। भुगतान न होने पर मेघनाद, रावण के पुतलों का निर्माण ठप पड़ गया। कई कलाकारों ने मंचन से इन्कार कर दिया। रेलवे इंस्टीट्यूट में तीन को भूमि पूजन होने जा रहा है, लेकिन अभी कोई भी तैयारी नहीं की गई है।
चार साल से नहीं हुए चुनाव
नियमानुसार रेलवे इंस्टीट्यूट की कमेटी के चुनाव दो साल के भीतर होने चाहिए, लेकिन 2009 से अभी तक चुनाव नहीं हुए हैं।
