South Central Railway will temporarily augment the following express trains with additional Coaches to clear the extra rush / waitlisted passengers as per the details mentioned below:-

1.Tr.No. 17018 Secunderabad- Rajkot Tri-Weekly Express will be augmented with one additional AC III Tier Coach o­n 1st, 5th, 7th, 8th, 12th, 14th, 15th and 19th October 2013.

2.Tr.No. 17017 Rajkot - Secunderabad Tri-Weekly Express will be augmented with one additional AC III Tier Coach o­n 3rd, 7th, 9th, 10th, 14th, 16th, 17th and21st October 2013.
3.Tr.No. 17002 Secunderabad - Sainagar Shirdi Express will be augmented with one additional AC III Tier Coach o­n 4th, 11th and 18thOctober 2013 (Fridays).
4.Tr.No. 17001 Sainagar Shirdi - Secunderabad Express will be augmented with one additional AC III Tier Coach o­n 5th, 12th and 19thOctober 2013 (Saturdays).
5.Tr.No. 17225 Vijayawada - Hubli Amaravathi Tri-Weekly Express will be augmented with two additional Sleeper Class Coaches o­n 3rd, 5th, 7th, 10th, 12th, 14th, 17th, 19th, 21st, 24th, 26th, 28th and 31stOctober 2013.

6.Tr.No. 17226 Hubli - Vijayawada Amaravathi Tri-Weekly Express will be augmented with two additional Sleeper Class Coaches o­n 5th, 7th, 9th, 12th, 14th, 16th, 19th, 21st, 23rd, 26th, 28th, 30th October and 2ndNovember 2013.


7.      Tr.No. 17208 Vijayawada - Sainagar Shirdi Weekly Express will be augmented with two additional Sleeper Class Coaches o­n 8th, 15th, 22ndand 29th October 2013 (Tuesdays).

8.      Tr.No. 17207 Sainagar Shirdi - Vijayawada Weekly Express will be augmented with two additional Sleeper Class Coaches o­n 9th, 16th, 23rdand 30th October 2013 (Wednesdays).

In all, 22 AC III Tier, 34­­­ Sleeper Class will be attached to the above trains.  These additional Coaches will make available 6,304 additional berths in order to clear extra rush and wait listed passengers.

Smt. Santosh Chowdhary, Hon’ble  Minister Of State, Health and Family Welfare,  Govt. of India and  Sh. Sunder Sham Arora, Hon’ble MLA, Punjab today flagged off the Train No. 14012  Weekly Express Service From Hoshiarpur To Delhi Jn. from Hoshiarpur Railway Station  at a simple ceremony today. Sh. N.C.Goel, Divisional Railway Manager, Firozpur & Other Senior Railway Officials were also present o­n the occasion.

Following the inaugural run today, regular services of the Train Nos 14011/14012 is as under:-The 14011 Delhi Jn-Hoshiarpur Weekly Express train shall depart from Delhi Jn.  at 11.05 p.m. every Saturday to reach Hoshiarpur at 07.10 a.m. the next day. In the return direction, the 14012 Hoshiarpur – Delhi  Jn Weekly Express Train shall depart  from Hoshiarpur  on every Sunday at 10.30 p.m. to reach Delhi Jn at 07.10 a.m. the next day.Consisting of o­ne AC II Tier, two AC III Tier, five sleeper, six second class coaches besides two second class disabled friendly coach cum luggage van, the 14011/14012  Hoshiarpur-Delhi Jn-Hoshiarpur Weekly Express Train will stop at Jalandhar Cantt, Phagwara, Ludhiana, Ambala Cantt. And Panipat stations enroute in both the directions.

With the introduction of this train, Northern Railway reiterates its commitment to provide more comfortable & faster train services to rail passengers.

झुमरीतिलैया (कोडरमा): महानगरों की तर्ज पर रेलवे बोर्ड ने धनबाद रेलमंडल के धनबाद व कोडरमा स्टेशन पर एक प्लेटफार्म से दूसरे प्लेटफार्म जाने के लिए रेलवे के फुटओवर ब्रिज मे स्वचालित सीढ़ी लगाई जाएगी । मालूम हो कि मेट्रो रेल में भी स्वचालित सीढ़ी का प्रयोग किया जाता है। इस संबंध में धनबाद रेल मंडल के वरीय परिचालन प्रबंधक दयानंद ने बताया कि कोडरमा स्टेशन पर दो प्लेटफार्म पर इसका निर्माण होना है। 60 लाख की लागत से स्वचालित सीढ़ी का निर्माण एक वर्ष के अंदर शुरू कर दिया जाएगा। उन्होंने बताया कि कोडरमा स्टेशन ए ग्रेड की श्रेणी में आता है और ऐसे में यहां सारी मूलभूत सुविधाओं को उपलब्ध कराने के लिए रेल प्रशासन कृतसंकल्पित है। सीनियर डीसीएम ने कहा कोडरमा रेलवे स्टेशन परिसर में कोच इंडिकेशन बोर्ड की सुविधा दिसंबर माह तक शुरू कर दी जाएगी। वहीं पूछताछ कार्यालय में भी कई सुविधाएं उपलब्ध कराई जाएगी।

With the second new broadgauge track having been laid between Vriddhachalam and Ulundurpet, as part of 270-km Villupuram-Dindigul doubling project, a light engine was operated on that stretch on Monday.The “engine rolling” was done from Ulundurpet station to Vriddhachalam, a 20-km stretch that has three major bridges, 27 minor bridges, and two stations en-route one of which is a block station. Top officials of the Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), a Government of India enterprise which is executing the doubling project, inspected the stretch on a motor trolley accompanied by the divisional railway officials to test the continuity of the track, railway sources here said. .The Villupuram–Dindigul doubling project is being executed. The work is expected to be completed by December.

Top officials inspect the track and ‘engine rolling’ performed

Kochi: The newly-launched Punalur-Guruvayur fast passenger train service is a hit among passengers and the railways is considering a proposal to introduce two sleeper coaches in the daily train running at peak hour.

Kodikunnil Suresh MP “The Madurai divisional railway manager has forwarded the proposal to the Southern Railway headquarters, Chennai.

The Railway Board is likely to give its nod soon. Already, the Madurai-Kollam passenger has the reservation facility”.

The initiative was taken in the wake of many enquiries, particularly from elderly people, travelling to Guruvayur.

The timing is convenient for devotees to avoid overnight stay and is useful for office-goers.

The train covers the Thrissur-Kottayam stretch in the morning peak hour, said Suresh, who is also the minister of state for labour.

The train covers 294.6 km and has 27 halts. Train No 56366 Punalur-Guruvayur departs at 5.30 p.m. and arrives at the destination at 2.15 a.m.

Similarly, Train No 56365 Guruvayur-Punalur departs from Guruvayur at 6 a.m. and reaches the destination at 2.30 p.m.

8.      Tr.No. 17207 Sainagar Shirdi - Vijayawada Weekly Express will be augmented with two additional Sleeper Class Coaches o­n 9th, 16th, 23rdand 30th October 2013 (Wednesdays).

गोरखपुर. यूपी की अखिलेश सरकार हाल में हुए मुजफ्फरनगर दंगों को लेकर भले ही इन दिनों बदनामी झेल रही हो लेकिन बहुत जल्द इस राज्य का नाम दुनिया भर में रोशन होने वाला है. जी हां, पूर्वी यूपी के गोरखपुर में दुनिया का सबसे लंबा रेलवे प्लेटफॉर्म बन रहा है जिसकी लंबाई 1355 मीटर होगी.

मौजूदा वक्त की बात की जाए तो अभी दुनिया का सबसे लंबा प्लेटफॉर्म पश्चिम बंगाल के खड़गपुर में है जिसकी लंबाई 1072 मीटर है. सूत्रों के मुताबिक गोरखपुर में बन रहे प्‍लेटफार्म के तैयार हो जाने के बाद यहां 26 बोगियों वाले दो ट्रेनों को एक साथ खड़ा किया जा सकेगा.

ये प्‍लेटफॉर्म 7 अक्‍टूबर 2013 से चालू हो जाएगा. साथ ही स्‍टेशन प्रबंधक इस उपलब्धि को गिनीज बुक ऑफ वर्ल्‍ड रिकार्ड में दर्ज कराना चाहते हैं. गोरखपुर से रोजना तकरीबन 170 ट्रेनों का आवागमन होता है.

In few days time Mumbai train commuters will see new trains on the Central and Western Railways.

From the old yellow and red trains to the new purple and white swanky trains, Mumbai's railways popularily known as the local trains have seen a great change in their look in the past two decades.Now, the new trains are set to be pink in colour to hide the paan stains. The new Mumbai train are currently in ICF, Chennai and will be in the city soon.The all-new local trains are expected to arrive in the city between October 8 and 10 and will then go into a three-month-long series of trials before it is inducted into the suburban system.

The train can reach speeds of 130 kilometres per hour and will sport what is internationally called the straight sidewall concept. Coaches in India, including the suburban ones in Mumbai, are bell-shaped.

The straight sidewall concept, one that has adorned trains abroad for years now, is expected to make the train faster, thanks to better aerodynamics.

The train’s sides are straighter than the ‘bell’ shape that is distinctive of Indian trains.

The train will be powered by the Bombardier transportation electrical system and not the Siemens one that powers current locals.

The train will have blue handles.

The train seats look more comfortable.

Kochi: Extending support to the Kochi Metro Rail Limited in resolving the issue of acquiring the playground of St Albert’s College for the metro rail project, the Greater Cochin Development Authority (GCDA) chairman N.Venugopal has initiated discussions with the District Collector.Addressing the media here on Tuesday, the GCDA chairman said he had already taken up the matter with District Collector P.I Sheikh Pareeth.“Disputes related to the acquisition of St Albert’s College playground near Jawaharlal Nehru stadium can be easily resolved by handing over alternative land to the college. The vacant land behind the High Court owned by the Kerala State Housing Board can be given to the college as a playground”, said Venugopal.The GCDA’s effective intervention will give an impetus to the preparatory works of the metro rail project.The metro authorities are planning to set up the operational control centre (OCC) on 52 cents of land near the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium at Kaloor.Of the 52 cents, 40 cents from the 4.65 acres of land in possession of the college will be acquired and the rest will be from the GCDA.“I have already talked to the Collector and asked him to consider the proposal of handing over the vacant land. Since the ground near the stadium was given to the college on lease, an equal area of land can be provided for a long term lease”, added the GCDA chairman.Meanwhile, the GCDA has also expressed willingness to hand over land for road widening near the A.L. Jacob railway overbridge.
