It is always a good feeling when we see that our heritage is preserved and maintained properly. When we move near to it, watch it and feel it, we instantly dive into our history.

Indian railways also has its own history, preserving which is a challenge. Already we are fast moving towards modernisation by scraping our historical rail routes turning them to tackle heavy mobilisation of people. Therefore, it is heart-warming when we will see that world’ oldest running train – the Fairy Queen, is ready to hit the tacks after it was shut down in 2014.

After repeated complains of breakdown, railways decided to pull off the train from tracks and remove all the shortcoming before it begins its journey yet again.

On 8th of October, the Fairy Queen will start its journey again from Delhi to Alwar of Rajasthan. To travel on the world’s oldest train you need to take the package that includes 2 days and 1 night circuit with an overnight stay at Sariska Tiger Reserve.

छोटी छोटी चेईजें रेलवे को सुचारू रूप से काम करने से रोक देती हैं| १२५०६ नार्थ ईस्ट एक्सप्रेस जब जा रही थी तब उसके ड्रिवेरर ने पटना-मुग़लसराय रेलखंड के बक्सर और बरुना स्टेशन के बीच स्लीपर रखे जाने की सूचना बरुना स्टेशन मास्टर और दानापुर कण्ट्रोल को दी| सूचना मिलते ही पीछे से आ रही १२४२३ डिब्रूगढ़ राजधानी जो बरुना से गुजरने ही वाली थी उसे बरुना ही रोक दिया गया| 
इसके बाद आरपीएफ, जीआरपी, रेलवे पथ विभाग और लोकल थाना पुलिस की पूरी टीम ने मिलकर बरुना से बक्सर के बीच स्लीपर छानने की प्रक्रिया शुरू कर दी| हालाँकि कोई भी सलीपर मिली नहीं पर इस वजह से बरुना से लेकर कुल्हड़िया तक सारी ट्रेनों को रोक दिया गया| राजधानी भी २ घंटे जहाँ तहँ खड़ी रही|पीडब्लूआई ने जब लिखित जानकारी दी की ट्रैक अब साफ़ है तब जाकर कहीं ट्रेनों का आवागमन सुरु हुआ|

IRCTC has announced 1 paisa travelling insurance offer from today till 31st October, 2016. IRCTC introduced 92 paisa traveling insurance scheme for passengers who book ticket online. The insurance provides a cover of upto Rs. 10 lacs in case off death or permanent total disablity, 7.5 lacs for permanent partial disability, upto rs. 2 lac hospital compensation and Rs.10,000 for mortal remains transportation in case of death.

The same scheme now passengers can avail by just paying 1 paisa while booking online ticket. Till date 120,87,625 passengers chose to take travelling insurance.

Stations with high tourist footfall will get “Tourist Help Desk.” Indian Railways has decided to set help desk at 24 stations initially where high number of tourists arrive daily. In order to protect them from touts railway will set up trained Railway Protection Force personnel on those help desks.

Agra, Thiruvanantpuram, Gaya, Bareli and Amritsar will get help desk in first phase itself while stations like Haridwar, Ayodhya, Allahabad, Dwarka, Howrah, Kamakhya, Tirupati and Varanasi will be taken up in next phase. Such help desk will ensure hassle free travelling experience for tourists with presence of RPF personnel round the clock.

The passengers can get assistance regarding stay at hotels, transportation etc.

Apart from the stations mentioned above, all other major stations will also get help desk for tourists. 

रेलवे की समय सारिणी में लागू हुए परिवर्तन के बाद से कई गाड़ियों का परिचालन रेलवे समय पर नही कर पा रही है जिसके चलते यात्रियों का आक्रोश बढत्ता जा रा है| कुछ ऐसा ही नजारा मुज़्ज़फ़्फरपुर स्टेशन पे देखने को मिला जब महिला यात्रियों ने स्टेशन पर अच्छा खास्सा हंगामा खड़ा कर दिया था|
५५२१० नंबर की ट्रैन सुबह मोतिहारी से मुजफ्फरपुर ७:१० पे पहुँचती है और वापस सुबह ७:४० पर ये मोतिहारी के लिए रवाना हो जाती है| परंतु समय में परिवर्तन के बाद से ये ट्रैन एकभी दिन अपने समय पर ना पहुंची है और ना गयी है| सुबह इस गाडी के बाद कोई और ट्रेन  इस रूट पर नहीं चलती है जिस वजह से यात्री मिथिला एक्सप्रेस पर काफी निर्भर रहते हैं| मंगलवार को जब ये गाडी लेट होने लगी त्तब महिला यात्रियों ने हंगामा खड़ा कर दिया और तब जाकर साढ़े नौ बजे ये गाडी रवाना हुई |

उत्तर रेलवे ने नवरात्र और दिवाली को ध्यान में रखते हुए यात्रियों की सहूलियत के लिए काशी से मुम्बई तक एसी स्पेशल ट्रेन चलाने का निर्णय लिया है| ये ट्रेन सुपरफास्ट बनके हर हफ्ते एक बार २५ अक्टूबर से २२ नवम्बर तक चलेगी|
२५ अक्टूबर को ये ट्रेन मुम्बई से दोपहर ३:४० पर रवाना होगी और वाराणसी से मुम्बई के लिए हर मंगलवार दोपहर २:४० पर जाएगी| २३ नवम्बर तक ये ट्रेन पांच बार मुम्बई जाएगी|
इसके अलावा पुणे के लिए भी साप्ताहिक ट्रेन चलाई जाएगी जो पुणे से हर गुरुवार को शाम ५ बजे वाराणसी को आएगी और वाराणसी से रात ९:५५ पर पुणे के लिए जाएगी | ये ट्रेन २७ अक्टूबर से चलाई जाएगी जो वाराणसी और मुम्बई के बीसीजी पाँच फेरे लगाएगी|

Till date you have to download various applications on your smart phone in order to access different railway services such as if you want to book your ticket you need an IRCTC app, if you want to order a meal you need different, if you want purchase platform ticket you need another app or if you want to register a complain, again you need to download another app and the same story continues for accessing different services.

However, now since Indian Railways is under going through transformation phase and it is trying to utilize its assets to increase its income as much as possible, therefore, soon all the services offered by Indian Railways will be integrated into a single app.

The new app will take care of ticket booking, ordering bed roll, ordering meal, lodging in retiring room, booking taxi, lodging complains if anything found untidy, accessing digital entertainment if available on board and if your ticket is not confirmed you will also be able to book airline ticket.

This app will be developed in three stages in which medical facilities and passenger police connectivity will be added that can be used in case of an emergency. The will also be enhanced for parking assistance at railway stations.

Through these changes railway is expecting an annual income of Rs. 500 crore.

Tatanagar station was on top of the list of cleanest stations in eastern India and it is trying further to enhance its cleanliness so that it can hit the top spot of the cleanest station in India.

To achieve this goal few non government and social organizations were invited to join the cleanliness drive outside and inside the station. The cleanliness drive was carried out across 500 meters radius from the station. The drive was not just about the waste management but the teams took initiative to decorate the walls with abstract and tribal art.

Till today cleanliness drive initiative was carried out by railway personnel only but once the station earned 1st rank in eastern India, social organisations showed keen interest to join the initiative and keep up the cleanliness.

Apart from decorating walls with painting, stretch between foot over bridge and reservation counter was also cleaned.

बुधवार को रेल एसपी ने दरभंगा स्टेशन पर विधिवत चेकिंग का अभियान चलाया जिसमे भारी मात्रा में पुलिस बल का प्रयोग किया गया| पुलिस बल कि संख्या इतनी ज्यादा थी कि आम यात्री अचरज में पड़ गए कि हुया क्या है| हाई अलर्ट घोसित कर दरभंगा के साथ साथ समस्तीपुर और मुजफ्फरपुर में भी चेकिंग हुई|
पुलिस ने सभी यात्रियों के सामान चेक किये, कुत्तों कि मदद से विस्फोटक पदार्थ की भी खोज की, इसके अलावा महिला पुलिस कि मदद से महिला यात्रियों का भी सामान चेक किया गया|
हालाँकि कि कोई संदिग्ध सामान नहीं मिला पर भी स्टेशन के हर सामान की  विधिवत जांच कि गई| यहां तक कि दिल्ली जाने वाली बिहार संपर्क क्रांति कि पैंट्री कार में भी सामान की जांच की गयी और सभी कर्मचारियों का आई डी कार्ड चेक किया गया|
डीएसपी के अनुसार ये अभियान उन सभी स्टेशनों पर चलाया जा रहा है जो नेपाल से सटे हैं|
