Railway is continuously trying to come out with something different to make passengers satisfied with the services they offer. Now for the first of its kind initiation Sonpur junction has started a ‘happiness junction’ where any passenger can access different varieties to entertain self. A kids zone has also been made where one can find different types of toys for kids. Also one can watch TV at happiness Junction apart from reading books. Happiness junction is just not about entertainment, you can also donate clothes that will be given to needy people. As per east central railway manager apart from journals a good collection of books have been put up so that passengers can choose between varieties of books.

IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation) has launched a special Bharat Darshan tour package for passengers who love celebrating Deepavali by travelling. This will give passengers and tourists an option to go for pilgrimage and visit important religious places across India.

A special tourist train with the name of ‘Diwali Ganga Snan Special’ will depart from Madurai on 25th October and cover Mathura, New Delhi, Varanasi, Gaya, Agra and Allahabad. ‘Diwali Ganga Snan Special’ will travel via Salem, Erode, Chennai and Vijayawada.

‘Diwali Ganga Snan Special’ will comprise of Sleeper Class coaches and AC 3 tier coaches. The passengers can opt for a Sleeper Class package or AC 3 tier package. AS per IRCTC the total cost of sleeper class package is Rs. 10,035 per passenger while for AC 3 Tier you will have to pay Rs. 13,940.

The package will include the following –

• Non-AC halls / dormitories accommodation,
• Road transfers from spots to rooms by non AC Vehicle,
• South Indian vegetarian food
• Tour escort / guide
• Compartment secuirty.

The itinerary includes night halts at Varanasi, Gaya, Agra and New Delhi. The tour will last for 12 days and will conclude on November 5.

अपने फ़ोन से आपको एसएमएस भेजना होगा जिसमे आप लिखेंगे 'बुक' और आगे बाकी टिकट विवरण जैसे की नाम, आयु, लिंग, स्टेशन जहाँ जाना है, स्टेशन जहाँ से जाना है फिर इसे 139 पर भेज देना होगा| एक बार आपका मैसेज पहुँच जाएगा तो भारतीय रेलवे आपको ट्रांसक्शन आईडी आपको आपके नंबर पर मैसेज कर देगी जिसमे बाकी विवरण भी लिखे होंगे|
इस ट्रांसक्शन आईडी का आपको इस्तेमाल कर आईएमपीएस द्वारा अपने मोबाइल से आपको पैसे का भुगतान करना होगा| जिसके लिए आपके पास डेबिट कार्ड या क्रेडिट कार्ड होना चाहिए|
ये सुविधा आपको थोड़ी जटिल लग सकती हे पर अगर आप ऐसी जगह हैं जहाँ इन्टरनेट सुविधा आस पास भी नहीं है तो ये आपके लिए वरदान ससाबित हो सकती है|

Railway has started ticket booking services for users who do not use internet on their phones. Users who do not use or intend to use smart phones can easily book a train ticket just by a SMS.

All you have to do is to type BOOK with relevant details that is required to confirm your seat and send to 139. It will cost you a mere 3 rupees. Once the message will sent and received Railways will revert you back instantly with transaction id, amount due and seats availability.

Your next step will be to use the received details from Indian Railways to make payment through IMPS (Immediate Payment Service) services by using your mobile. The only thing you would require is to log in yourself in to IMPS to complete your transaction. However without IMPS you might send SMS and receive transaction ID but unless your payment cycle is not complete you will not be able to confirm your seats.

पांच महीने पहले भागलपुर से देवघर सीधे जाने के लिए रेल लाइन बनाकर तैयार की गयी थी पर अभी तक इसपे एक गाडी भी सीधे नहीं चल सकी है| श्रावण मेले के दौरान रेलवे ने एक महीने तक मेला सपेशल डीएमयू जरूर चलाई थी पर उसके बाद वापस ये रूट हाथी के सफ़ेद दांत की तरह रह गया है|
रेलवे अधिकारी आने वाले दिनों में दो ट्रेनों के चलने की बात जरूर कर रहे है पर असल में ये कबतक होता है इसका पता नहीं है|
अंडाल से बांका तक आने वाली ट्रेन को बढाकर देवघर तक किया जा रहा है, इसके अलावा भागलपुर-रांची एक्सप्रेस का रूट बदलकर देवघर होते हुए चलाया जा सकता है| पर अभी तक तो ऐसा कुछ भी हॊता हुआ नहीं दिख रहा है| 

भागलपुर रेलखंड में चलने वाली इंटरसिटी एक्सप्रेस की एसी बोगियों में अनधिकृत रूप से छात्र और नौकरी पेसा लोगों का सीट पर कब्ज़ा बढ़ता ही जा रहा है| हाल ही में हाथीदह में दाना-भागलपुर इंटेसिटी में सीट पर बैठने के लिये हमले करने जैसी स्थिति बन गयी थी| हद तो तब हो गयी थी जब जिस यात्री की सीट थी उसे ही बैठने नहीं दिया जा रहा था| और टिकट धारक यात्रियों ने जब इसका विरोध किया तब उंनसे झगड़ा करने पर ये लोग उतर आये थे|
इसी तरह भागलपुर-मुजफ्फरपुर इंटरकसिटी में छात्र और अन्य नौकरी करनी वाले लोग बिना टिकट ही या सामान्य टिकेट लेकर एसी बोगी में चढ़ जाते हैं जिससे उस सीट के यात्री को झगड़ा करना पड़ता है|
पटना-साहबगंज इंटरसिटी में स्थिति दिन पर दिन बिगड़ती जा रही है क्योंकि भागलपुर स्टेशन पर ये ११ बजे पहुचती है जो कार्यालय शुरू होने का समय होता है और वापिस ये शाम को जाती है जिस वजह से छात्रों का उत्पात ज्यादा ही होता है| 

रेलवे में नौकरी और अधिगृहितजमीन के मुआवजे की मांग के चलते हाजीपुर-सुगौली के बीच नई रेल लाइन पर किसान संघर्ष समिति नेे  कोे घोसवर हॉल्ट के पास जो हाजीपुर-मुजफ्फरपुर रेल खंड में आता है, उसे पांच घंटे तक जाम रखा जिस वजह से उस रूट पर जाने वाली स्साभी ट्रेनें जहा त्तहँ कड़ी रही| मुख्या रूप से जिन ट्रेनों पर सबसे ज्यादा असर पड़ा है वो हैं - 
अप बाघ एक्सप्रेस अप बिहार संपर्कक्रांति सुपर फास्ट एक्सप्रेसरक्सौल इंटरसिटी तेज सवारी गाड़ी  वैशाली सुपर फास्ट जो गोरौल में खड़ी रही
