Southern Railway to run 12-car Diesel Electric Multiple Unit (DEMU) passenger trains would be operated in Tiruchi-Nagore-Karaikal-Nagore-Tiruchi section.

From November 15, 2016 - 76852 The Tiruchi – Nagore DEMU passenger will run with 12 – car DEMU coaches instead of eight cars.

Train no. - 76851 Nagore – Tiruchi passenger, Train no. - 06852 Nagore – Karaikal passenger and Train no. 06851 - Karaikal – Nagore passenger would be operated with 12-car DEMU coaches from November 16.

A special train with special is announced between Ernakulam Junction and Velankanni.

06016 Ernakulam Junction - Velankanni special will run on December 1 and 8 while 06015 Velankanni - Ernakulam Junction special will run on December 2 and 9.

06016 Ernakulam Junction - Velankanni special will depart at 08:15PM from Ernakulam Junction and will reach Velankanni at 09:30AM next day.

06015 Velankanni - Ernakulam Junction special will depart from Velankanni at 02:20PM in the evening and will reach Ernakulam Junction at 04:15AM in the morning next day.

Enroute this train will stop at –

luva, Thrissur, Ottapalam, Palakkad, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode, Karur, Tiruchchirappalli, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur and Nagapattinam

This train will comprise of –

• AC Second – 1
• AC Three – 2
• Sleeper – 11
• General second class - 3

An announcement of special train is made by Southern Railway that will clear the extra rush between Chennai Egmore and Tirunelveli.

This train will also carry special fare over its base fare.

06001 Chennai Egmore – Tirunelveli special train will run on December 9. This train will leave Chennai Egmore at 09:05PM in the night and will reach Tirunelveli at 10.45am the next day.

Enroute stoppages for this train will be –

Tambaram, Chengalpet, Villupuram, Vriddhachalam, Tiruchchirappalli, Dindigul, Kodaikkanal Road, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Sattur, Kovilpatti and Vanchi Maniyachchi.

Train Composition –

• AC Second Class – 2 coaches
• AC Third Class – 2 coaches
• Sleeper Class – 10 coaches

Thiruvananthapuram railway division has made all the necessary arrangements for Sabrimala pilgrimage season. 182 - Security Helpline number and 138 – service helpline number are already functional now. Both these numbers can be dialled through any phone and will be manned by persons with mutli lingual skill as crowd will influx from various regions.

Security arrangements has been tightened with Chengannur and Kottayam stations will remain under CCTV surveillance round the clock. A special crime prevention and detection squad is permanently deployed in uniform and plain clothes. A quick reaction team has also been formed at Chengannur, Trichur, Guruvayur, Trivandrum, Ernakulam South, Ernakulam North, Kottayam, Tiruvalla, Kayamkulam and Kanniyakumari stations.

Usage of gas cylinders, stove or any other inflammable articles is strictly prohibited and to counter any of such things a special drive will be conducted.

Special vegetarian catering facility will be opened at Chengannur by Kudumbasree. Passenger reservation counter at Pampa will be operational from today and additional reservation counters will be set up at Chengannur and Kottayam stations.

बीते दिनों उत्तर रेलवे ने निरस्त टिकटों पर तुरंत पैसे वापस करने पर पूर्णतया रोक लगा दी थी| छोटे से छोटे टिकट पर वो पैसे वापस नहीं कर रहा था; हालाँकि ये रोक अब वापस ले ली गयी है पर 5000 रूपए के टिकट तक ही सीमित रहेगी|
विमुद्रीकरण की घोषणा के बाद रेलवे टिकट काउंटर पर टिकटों की बिक्री में काफी तेजी देखी गयी जिस कारण रेलवे काउंटर्स पर कॅश की समस्या उत्पन्न हो गयी क्योंकि बहुत से लोग टिकट बुक कराकर निरस्त करा रहे थे जिससे की उनके 500  और 1000  के नोट के बदले 100  के नोट में पैसे वापस मिल जाएँ|
ये देखते हुए रेलवे ने 10,000 रूपए तक के ही टिकट पर पैसे वापस की घोषणा की थी पर उत्तर रेलवे ने उसे पांच हजार तक ही रखा है|
चीफ कमर्शियल मेनेजर ने पांच हजार से ऊपर टिकटों को 15  से 20  दिनों में टीडीआर के माध्यम से रिफंड की बात कही है|

22120 Kacheguda – Tirupati Express is cancelled today by South Central Railways.

The train departs from Kacheguda at 06:45AM every Wednesday and Saturday and arrives Tirupati at 06:15PM on the same day.

It covers the total 636 KM distance in less than 12hrs.

Just a day after Indian PM announced demonetization of 500 and 1000 rupee notes Indian Railway has seen a surge in ticket bookings. People are lining up for hours to book tickets as 500 and 1000 rupee notes can be used to book railway tickets but what came as surprise is that AC First Ticket booking witnessed a whopping 1000% increase.

Compared to 2000 tickets that were booked on an average before demonetisation, 27000 tickets were booked. Also compared to 37000 tickets sold a day before railway sold 70000 tickets which amounts to 90% hike.

Although when Railway took additional measures to check unusually high amount of bookings, it dipped next day, but bookings for AC First Class maintained a consistent 800% hike followed by 73% hike in AC third class bookings.

Railway officials has been instructed to book tickets worth rupees 50,000 or more only after obtaining PAN Card.
