कानपुर झांसी के बीच नई विद्युतीकरण रेलवे लाइन पर कब से ट्रेनों का आवागमन शुरू होगा, इसको लेकर संशय बरकरार है। सोमवार को रेल संरक्षा आयुक्त पीके वाजपेयी ने विद्युतीकृत लाइन का निरीक्षण किया। उन्होंने कहा कि मंगलवार को इलेक्ट्रिक इंजन का लाइन पर ट्रायल होगा। इसके बाद रिपोर्ट ऊपर भेजी जाएगी। कब से इलेक्ट्रिक ट्रेनें दौड़ने लगेंगी इसको लेकर उन्होंने कोई आधिकारिक संकेत नहीं दिया है। उन्होंने कहा कि तकनीकि खामियों को वे चिन्हित कर रहे हैं।
रेल संरक्षा आयुक्त पीके वाजपेयी ने उरई रेलवे स्टेशन पर इलेक्ट्रिक लाइन के निरीक्षण के दौरान माना कि अभी इलेक्ट्रिक लाइन से ट्रेनों के संचालन में तमाम गतिरोध हैं उन्हें दूर करने की कोशिश की जा रही है। उन्होंने कहा कि कानपुर से झांसी तक बिछी विद्युतीकृत रेलवे लाइन के निरीक्षण के बाद मंगलवार को इलेक्ट्रिक इंजन का फाइनल ट्रायल होगा। इसके बाद तय किया जाएगा लाइन ठीक है या नहीं, कब से इलेक्ट्रिक ट्रेनों के आवागमन को हरी झंडी मिलेगी इसको लेकर उन्होंने कुछ नहीं कहा। चौरसी के पास विद्युतीकृत लाइन में पावर सप्लाई के लिए सब स्टेशन के निर्माण को लेकर चल रहा विवाद अभी खत्म नहीं हुआ, लेकिन उन्होंने कहा कि यहां सब स्टेशन स्थापित हुए बगैर भी इलेक्ट्रिक लाइन शुरू हो सकती है। इलेक्ट्रिक लाइन देखने वाले इंजीनियरों से उन्होंने तकनीकी खामियों के बारे में पूछा।

Baramulla, Sep 14: The Special Investigation Team ( SIT) constituted to probe the mysterious death of People’s League leader Abdul Rashid Sofi alias Ghazi has expressed dismay over the Northern Railway failure to install CCTV camera at the Kralhar railway station here in north Kashmir.

The SIT, according to reports, had approached the railway department to seek the footage of CCTV camera if installed at the Kralhar railway station, however, to their dismay they found that the department had not installed the system.

Sources told that the railway department had so far not installed any such surveillance cameras all along the route from Baramulla to Qazigund despite the fact that the entire route from Baramulla to Qazigund, comprising of 15 railway stations and 64 major bridges are considered to be sensitive keeping in view the turmoil in Kashmir.

Meanwhile, the special investigation team probing the death of the 65 year old PL leader is reportedly seeking all the details of the passengers who had traveled on Wednesday evening from Islamabad (Anantnag) to Baramulla. The SIT has also reportedly questioned several railway guards deployed at Kralhar Baramulla railway station.

Meanwhile, various pro-freedom leaders and parties have condoled the demise of Ghazi.Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik  has expressed shock and grief over the demise, describing the deceased as a gentle and humble soul. He said Gazi’s dedication and struggle will always be remembered. He prayed for the deceased and sympathized with the bereaved family.

A delegation of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) led by its general secretary Moulana Abdullah Tari on Saturday visited the residence of the deceased.

“Due to continuous house arrest senior resistance leader and chairman DFP Shabir Ahmad Shah could not visit the Baramulla to express solidarity with the family of resistance leader Ghazi Abdul Rashid on his martyrdom,” a DFP spokesman said.

However, on his instructions, a delegation visited the residence of the deceased and expressed sympathies with the bereaved family,” he added.

Poor patronage for Train Number 22475/22476 Coimbatore — Bikaner — Coimbatore Weekly AC Superfast Express is proving to be a cause for concern. The train was introduced last year.

Within a few months of its introduction, a pantry car was attached to the train which runs for close to 48 hours spread over two nights and two and a half days.

However, the train with nine AC three-tier coaches and four AC two-tier coaches with a capacity to accommodate nearly 750-odd passengers had been recording only 55 to 60 per cent occupancy and this resulted in the pantry car being withdrawn on August 24, 2013.

Important connectivity

Rail activist S. Ravi said the train passed through Northern Kerala, Mangalore, Udipi, Goa, Ratnagiri (closer to Mumbai), Ahemedabad and Jodhpur and with such poor patronage, the train now seemed to run the risk of either being cancelled or getting extended up to Erode or Salem.

In that eventuality, Coimbatore would lose an important connectivity via Konkan Railway with Goa, Rajasthan, Gujarat and other places, he said.

Gearing up

Meanwhile, the Salem Division officials are gearing up for the flagging off ceremony of the Coimbatore — Rameswaram — Coimbatore Weekly Express (Train No 16617/18) from Coimbatore Junction on Tuesday (September 17) at 7.45 p.m. Conceding the demand of the Railway Struggle Committee, an announcement was made in the Union Railway Budget presented in February for the introduction of a weekly train.

Utilising the idle rakes (locomotive and coaches) of the Coimbatore — Rajkot — Coimbatore Weekly express, the weekly train service to Rameswaram from Coimbatore on Tuesdays and from Rameswaram on Wednesdays is being introduced.

New Delhi: Railways have decided to expedite projects involving laying of broad gauge line in Himachal Pradesh in close coordination with the state government.

The projects include Bhanupalli-Bilaspur-Beri new line, Chandigarh-Baddi new line and completion of Nagladam-Talwara new line to connect to Mukerian and to provide alternative line to Pathankot through Sirhind-Nangaldam-Talwara-Mukerian route.

JAMMU : Hundreds of train passengers have narrow escape and train traffic was disrupted on the Jammu-Pathankot railway track due to detection of snapped link near Budhi railway station in Kathua early Monday morning.Timely detection of the broken link prevented a major tragedy as several Jammu-bound trains were approaching the Jammu railway station in the morning, official sources said.Soon after getting information of broken link, Jammu bound Sealdah and Jhelum Express were halted on Kathua side while Malwa Express and Ahmedabad Express were stationed on the Jammu Railway Station pending repair works.According to Divisional Traffic Manager R N Meena, "Soon after detection of the broken rail link near Budhi Railway Station the team of engineers and workers was rushed to the spot to carry out necessary repair work. Meena said the railway traffic was likely to be resumed immediately after the repair work was over.

Later in the day the train traffic was resumed and several trains ran behind the schedule due to delay caused in carrying out the repair works.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Thiruvananthapuram Railway Division authorities have informed of running special trains to clear the extra rush of passengers during Durga Puja and Diwali festival.The Santragachi-Kochuveli Weekly Special (train no. 02851) will leave Santragachi at 4.05pm on Saturdays from October 5 to November 30 to arrive Kochuveli at 10.30am on the third day.The Kochuveli-Santragachi Weekly Special (train no. 02852) will leave Kochuveli at 4.15am on Tuesdays from October 8 to December 3 to arrive Santragachi at 3.00am on the third day.The composition of the trains will be two AC 3-tiers, eight Sleeper Class, four general second class and two luggage-cum-brake van coaches.The trains will stop at Kharagpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur Keonjhar Road, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road, Berhampur, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Samalkot, Rajahmundry, Eluru, Vijayawada, Ongole, Nellore, Gudur, Renigunta, Katpadi, Gudiyattam, Vaniyambadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Coimbatore, Palakkad, Thrissur, Aluva, Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, Thiruvalla, Chengannur, Mavelikkara, Kayamkulam and Kollam.

Advance reservation for the above trains commenced on Monday.

अकोला/ अमरावती/ नागपूर - पारसपासून पाच किलोमीटर अंतरावर असलेल्या नागझरी येथील पुलावरील रेल्वे रूळ रविवारी रात्री झालेल्या पावसाने खचला. मात्र रेल्वे गँगमनच्या सतर्कतेमुळे या मार्गावरून धावणार्‍या अमरावती एक्स्प्रेसचा अपघात टळला. तरीही या घटनेमुळे १५ रेल्वे गाड्यांची वाहतूक प्रभावित झाली.
नागझरी युनिट क्र. २ मधील गँगमन समाधान झांगो यांनी पूल खचल्याची बाब लक्षात येता वेळीच अमरावती एक्स्प्रेस रोखली अन् हजारो प्रवाशांचा जीव वाचला. त्यानंतर मुंबई ते हावडा रेल्वेमार्गावरील डाऊन ट्रॅकवरील वाहतूक थांबविण्यात आली होती. सुरुवातीला अप लाईनवरून वाहतुक सुरू होती. दुपारी २ वाजतानंतर दोन्ही मार्ग वाहतुकीसाठी खुले करण्यात आली असल्याची माहिती रेल्वेच्या अधिकार्‍यांनी दिली.
मुंबई-अमरावती ‘अंबा’ सुपरफास्ट एक्स्प्रेस १६ सप्टेबर रोजी सकाळी ६.१७ वाजता नागझरी रेल्वे स्थानकावरून सरळ पारसकडे रवाना झाली. दरम्यान नागझरीजवळ लहान पुलावरील रूळाखालची गिट्टी वाहून गेल्याने रू ळ कमकुवत झाल्याचे गस्त घालणार्‍या कर्मचार्‍याच्या लक्षात येताच त्यांनी ही गाडी थांबविली. अंबा एक्स्प्रेसचे चालक मोरे व गार्ड प्रवीण सखळकर यांनी रूळाची पाहणी केली. रुळावरून गाडी पुढे नेणे धोकादायक असल्याची माहिती त्यांनी पारस स्टेशन उपअधीक्षक निशाणे यांना दिली. त्यानंतर निशाणे यांनी अपट्रॅकवरून धावणारी मालगाडी थांबविण्याचा निर्णय घेतला. दोन्हीकडील वाहतूक एकाच वेळी थांबविण्यात आल्याने प्रवासी गोंधळले. अंबा एक्स्प्रेस नागझरी येथे तर हावडा मेल, प्रेरणा एक्स्प्रेस व अन्य गाड्या शेगावला थांबविण्यात आल्या होत्या. या मार्गावरील सर्व गाड्या चार तास उशीराने धावत होत्या. नागझरी येथील घटनेची माहिती पारस स्टेशन उपअधीक्षकांनी रेल्वेच्या भुसावळ येथील वरिष्ठ अधिकार्‍यांना देण्यात आल्यानंतर यंत्रणा कामाला लागली. चार तासानंतर हावडा मेल व मुंबई- अमरावती एक्स्प्रेस अपट्रॅकवरून पारस स्टेशनपर्यंत आणण्यात आली. एकाच मार्गावरून पुढे काढण्यात येत असल्याने अनेक गाड्या निर्धारित वेळेपेक्षा उशीरा धावत होत्या. डाऊन ट्रॅकच्या दुरुस्तीचे काम युध्दपातळीवर करून हा मार्ग दुपारी २ वाजतानंतर खुला करण्यात आला असल्याचे रेल्वेच्या सूत्रांनी सांगितले. दुपारी २.२५ वाजता डाऊन लाईन सुरू झाली. तोवर मुंबई-हावडा मार्गावरील १५ रेल्वे गाड्या विलंबाने रेल्वे स्टेशनवर पोहोचल्या. यामध्ये १२८0९ मुंबई-हावडा मेल २.३0 तास, १२८४४ अहमदाबाद-पुरी एक्स्प्रेस ३.१५ तास, ११४५३ अहमदाबाद-नागपूर प्रेरणा एक्स्प्रेस ३ तास, १८0२९ एलटीटी-शालिमार एक्स्प्रेस ३.४५ तास आणि १२८११ एलटीटी-हटिया एक्स्प्रेस ३.३0 तास उशिरा पोहोचल्या. मुंबई -अमरावती, कुर्ला-हावडा लोकमान्य टिळक, महाराष्ट्र एक्स्प्रेस, अहमदाबाद-हावडा एक्स्प्रेस, भुसावळ -अमरावती पॅसेंजर, अमरावती-सुरत पॅसेंजर, हावडा-मुंबई गितांजली एक्स्प्रेस, नागपूर-भुसावळ पॅसेंजर, गोंदिया-कोल्हापूर महाराष्ट्र एक्स्प्रेस या गाड्या तीन ते चार तास उशीरा धावल्या. बडनेरा येथे दहा मालगाड्या थांबविल्या होत्या.

Tenders for new line will be called soon, says Balaram Naik

The survey for the Pandurangapuram-Sarapaka (Bhadrachalam) railway line has been completed and the tender for the new line would be called soon, said Union Minister of State for Social Justice P Balram Naik. He was speaking to media persons along with Deputy Speaker Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Minister for Horticulture R Venkat Reddy, and MLCs P Sudhakar Reddy and K Dileep Kumar here on Monday. Mr Naik was here to attend a review meeting on development works.

The government has sanctioned second bridge across the Godavari in Bhadrachalam town, he said adding that the new bridge would be constructed with an estimated cost of Rs. 250 crore.

Asserting that the foundation for the proposed steel plant in Bayyaram would be laid soon, he exuded confidence that the plant would become a reality before the next general elections.

The senior officials concerned have already engaged in the task of preparing a blueprint for the plant and they are likely to meet Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy in a day or two to apprise him of the same, he said.

The iron ore deposits available in Warangal and Karimnagar districts would be utilised for the proposed Bayyaram plant. Bayyaram would become a hub of steel production in the near future, he said.

On separate Telangana issue, he said the process to carve out separate Telangana State is underway. Bhadrachalam division is an integral part of Khammam district and it would remain so after the creation of separate Telangana State.

Mr Bhatti Vikramarka reiterated that Bhadrachalam was a part of Golconda regime.

Referring to the construction of the famous Sri Sitaramachandra Swamy temple in Bhadrachalam by Kancharla Gopanna, the then Tehsildar under the regime of Abul Hasan Tanisha in the 17th century, he said Bhadrachalam should be retained in “Telangana State.” We have drawn up a plan to enlist the cooperation of the elected representatives of all the political parties to give a representation to the UPA Chairpersons chairman Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi for retaining Bhadrachalam in Telangana and ensuring adequate funds for comprehensive development of the district, he said.
