आसनसोल : हावड़ा से धनबाद जा रही कोलफील्ड एक्सप्रेस के गुरुवार रात को बराचक स्टेशन के समीप दो डिब्बे बेपटरी होने की जांच में रेलवे ट्रैक में कमियां पायी गयी है। घटना की जांच के लिए आसनसोल रेल मंडल प्रबंधक संजय सिंह गहलौत ने एक जांच टीम का गठन किया है।
बताया जाता है कि गुरुवार की रात कोलफील्ड एक्सप्रेस के दो डिब्बे बेपटरी होने की सूचना मिलने पर पूर्व रेलवे के उपमहाप्रबंधक बीके पटेल, मुख्य सेफ्टी अधिकारी एके सिंह सहित पूर्व रेलवे के अन्य वरिष्ठ अधिकारी आधी रात के बाद लगभग 2.20 बजे घटना स्थल पहुंचे। अधिकारियों ने डीआरएम एसएस गहलौत सहित मंडल के संबंधित विभाग के अधिकारियों से घटना की जानकारी ली। रेलवे सूत्रों के अनुसार अब तक की जांच में ट्रैक में कमियां पायी गयी है। शुक्रवार को आसनसोल रेल मंडल के पीआरओ बीएन मुर्मू ने बताया कि क्षतिग्रस्त दो डिब्बों को काट कर अन्य 18 डिब्बे को अन्य दूसरे इंजन के साथ जोड़कर रात 11.20 बजे कोलफिल्ड को धनबाद के लिए रवाना किया गया। क्षतिग्रस्त दोनों डिब्बों को गुरुवार आधी रात के बाद लगभग 1.10 बजे ट्रैक पर पुन चढ़ाकर आसनसोल कोचिंग यार्ड लाया गया। मुर्मू ने बताया कि आधी रात के बाद 1.30 बजे पूर्ण रुप से मेन लाइन को खाली कर दिया गया था। इसके बाद बारी बारी से विभिन्न स्टेशनों पर खड़ी अप की ट्रेनों को गंतव्य के लिए रवाना किया गया।

शिमला : हिमाचल प्रदेश में विभिन्न रेल परियोजनाओं के कार्यान्वयन व संबंधित परियोजनाओं से जुड़ी औपचारिकताओं पर शनिवार को नई दिल्ली में मंथन हो रहा है। इस सिलसिले में प्रदेश सरकार व केन्द्रीय रेल मंत्रालय के उच्च अधिकारियों के बीच विचार-विमर्श होगा।
यह निर्णय मुख्यमंत्री वीरभद्र सिंह व केंद्रीय रेल मंत्री मल्लिकार्जुन खड़गे के बीच शुक्रवार को नई दिल्ली में हुई उच्च स्तरीय बैठक में लिया गया है। सरकारी प्रवक्ता ने बताया कि बैठक में निर्णय लिया गया कि मुख्य सचिव एस राय व केन्द्रीय रेल बोर्ड के अध्यक्ष अरुणेन्द्र कुमार हिमाचल में रेल नेटवर्क को सुदृढ़ बनाने व विभिन्न रेल परियोजनाओं को गति देने के लिए विचार-विमर्श करेंगे। नई दिल्ली में केंद्रीय रेल मंत्री के साथ भेंट के दौरान मुख्यमंत्री वीरभद्र सिंह ने जहां बिलासपुर-भानुपल्ली-बैरी ब्रॉडगेज रेल मार्ग की कुल लागत का पच्चीस फीसद खर्च वहन करने का प्रस्ताव रखा है, वहीं रेल सरेखण (अलाइनमेंट) के लिए सरकारी भूमि निशुल्क उपलब्ध करवाने का भी प्रस्ताव रखा है। उन्होंने बद्दी-बरोटीवाला-नालागढ़ क्षेत्रों में तेजी से उभरते औद्योगिक व व्यावसायिक परिसरों के दृष्टिगत बद्दी को जोड़ने वाले नए रेलमार्ग की निर्माण लागत में भागीदारी का भी प्रस्ताव रखा है। मुख्यमंत्री ने रेल मंत्री से नंगल-तलवाड़ा ब्रॉडग्रज रेल मार्ग को समय पर पूरा करने के लिए पर्याप्त धनराशि उपलब्ध करवाने का आग्रह करते हुए कहा कि बीते 33 वर्षो के दौरान नंगल से अम्ब-अंदौरा तक इस रेल मार्ग पर केवल 44 किमी. रेल ट्रैक का ही निर्माण किया गया है। कुल 83.74 किमी रेल ट्रैक में से करीब 62 किमी ट्रैक राज्य में पड़ता है। वीरभद्र सिंह ने केन्द्रीय मंत्री से इस रेल मार्ग के निर्माण के लिए समय सीमा निर्धारित करने का अनुरोध किया व रेल मंत्रालय से घनौली-बद्दी-काला अम्ब-पांवटा साहिब-देहरादून ब्रॉडगेज रेल मार्ग पर सर्वेक्षण कार्य जल्द पूरा करने के लिए पर्याप्त बजट उपलब्ध करवाने की भी मांग की। साथ ही रेल बजट में घोषित सभी रेल मागरें के निर्माण के लिए भी पर्याप्त धनराशि उपलब्ध करवाने का आग्रह किया।

Platforms The authorities will also revive platforms six and seven at the Kurla LTT near the railway yard. The authorities will eventually dismantle the tracks and platforms, which extend all the way to the old building.

New waiting lounge Waiting passengers can be seen squatting on the floor outside the ticket booking counters and sleeping there at night. The stairs are also broken. Khare has asked CR authorities to dismantle the old ticket counter building completely. “We are looking at building a huge waiting lounge for passengers with proper arrangements,” said a CR official.

Levelling the road Entering the railway terminus is a task in itself, with the pothole-ridden road, haphazardly parked auto and taxi stands creating problems for passengers. The road outside the old terminus block from where trains depart is also uneven and full of craters. The railways have decided to level this road completely, and will widen the one going towards Tilak Nagar station from LTT.

Rajesh Agrawal, Thiruvananthapuram Divisional Railway Manager, has expressed serious concern over the gross underutilisation of the rail corridor linking the Vallarpadam transshipment terminal with Edappally. He was interacting with reporters here on Thursday.

He said now, only one train plied the railway link, exclusively meant for goods container traffic to and from ICTT, every week. This was mostly because goods transporters preferred to transport containers by road. The rail corridor could be put to optimum use only if at least three to five trains ply the route every day, he said.

(Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. (RVNL) had constructed the dedicated track linking the terminal with Edappally station in record time. The track is underused as most containers are transported in lorries through congested highways.

This practice has derailed the Railway’s ambitious project to transport 10 million tonnes of cargo in five years’ time from the terminal and Kochi port.

The port had lost out to other ports in the South India, Mr. Agrawal said.

Aimed at ferrying more goods from the terminal and port through trains, railway engineers are engaged in restoring deserted tracks and wharfs of Kochi port.

“We hope to achieve some breakthrough in transporting goods from the adjacent Harbour Terminus railway station,” he said.

Temporary Stoppage of Jodhpur-Howrah-Jodhpur Exp at Vindhyachal Station.

In its continuing efforts to enhance access to its popular e-ticket portal, Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation Ltd. (IRCTC), a Public Sector undertaking of the Ministry of Railways, has launched a new application (App) for Windows Phone and Windows 8 devices so as to facilitate the users with a new channel of booking e-tickets in addition to the existing portal. This new IRCTC-App, which has been launched in collaboration with Microsoft, provides ANYTIME, ANYWHERE access to IRCTC services.

With this alternative channel of booking, the passengers will have an additional convenience and better experience of booking e-ticket. 

Mr. Rakesh Tandon, CMD, IRCTC along with Mr. Joseph Landes, General Manager – Developer and Platform Evangelism, Microsoft Corporation launched the new app for the general public at a function held here today. 

The app has been made available exclusively for Windows devices. The users of Windows Phone, Windows 8 Desktop/Tab can download, completely free this application as per their requirement from the Windows Phone Store and Windows Store respectively.. 

Using this new app one can plan a trip, make railway reservations, check the PNR status and perform all the tasks already available on the IRCTC web site. It will be available throughout the day excepting 0800 – 1200 hrs and 2330 – 0030 hrs as per the existing Railway guidelines. 

The App will provide the users an enhanced experience of all IRCTC website services and will in fact offer a few exclusive services to the App users. The new and exciting features for the App-users will include Visual maps of train routes, Windows Phone live tiles (lighting up as train tickets) and access to saved traveler profiles from multiple devices are just a few to mention. 

This application will help a wide number of users as Windows is a widely familiar platform. It offers the best in class, security required while handling personal and financial data of customers. The move meets the objective of IRCTC among others to focus relentlessly on enhancing customer experience.
