कोलकाता : इएमयू (इलेक्ट्रिकल मल्टीपल यूनिट) ट्रेन मास्टर कंट्रोलर से चलती है. लोको पायलट को हर समय ट्रेन को गति में रखने के लिए मास्टर कंट्रोलर को दबाकर रखना पड़ता है.
तेज गति में चल रही इएमयू ट्रेन के मास्टर कंट्रोलर से 30 सेकेंड तक हाथ हटा लेने पर गाड़ी धीमी होकर खड़ी हो जाती है. नौ व 12 बोगी की लोकल ट्रेन को सिर्फ एक ही लोको पायलट चलाता है, उसके साथ अन्य कोई सहायक नहीं होता है. ट्रेन में यात्रियों के सुरक्षित चढ़ाने और उनके उतारने पर निगरानी रखने के लिए पीछे गार्ड होता है.
स्टेशन पर ट्रेन के खड़े होने पर सभी यात्रियों के चढ़ने और उतर जाने के बाद गार्ड लोको पायलट को हार्न बजाकर आगे बढ़ने के लिए निर्देश देता है. गार्ड के हार्न बजाने के बाद लोको पायलट फिर ट्रेन को आगे बढ़ता है.
पूर्व रेलवे सियालदह के विद्युत चालक दल के संचालक दिलीप कुमार दास ने बताया कि मास्टर कंट्रोलर से हाथ हटाते ही 30 सेंकेंड के बाद अलार्म बजना शुरू हो जाता है, इसके बावजूद लोको पायलट के कंट्रोलर पर हाथ नहीं रखने पर तेज गति में चल रही ट्रेन की गति स्वत: धीमी होती जाती है, धीरे-धीरे कुछ दूरी पर जाने के बाद गाड़ी खड़ी हो जाती है.
लाइन में खड़ी उक्त गाड़ी के वहां से न हटाने तक उक्त लाइन इलेक्ट्रिक्ल लॉक्ड रहता है. इस दौरान उस लाइन में दूसरी गाड़ी नहीं घुस सकती है. इएमयू ट्रेन 95 किमी प्रति घंटे के रफ्तार से चलती है. इस दौरान एक ही लोको पायलट होने की वजह से तेज गति में चल रही ट्रेन में अचानक लोको पायलट के बेहोश हो जाने या उन्हें दिल का दौरा पड़ने से एक बड़ी ट्रेन दुर्घटना हो सकती है. इसीलिए पहले से सतर्कता के इंतजाम किये गये हैं.

जींद रोड स्थित रेल फाटक पर निर्माणाधीन रेलवे ओवरब्रिज (आरओबी) को जींद की तरफ महमूदपुर मोड़ से पहले उतारने की मांग की है। दुकानदारों व ग्रामीणों का कहना है कि महमूदपुर मोड़ से आगे तक आरओबी का निर्माण होने पर सात गावों के ग्रामीणों की परेशानी बढ़ेगी। दुकानदारों व ग्रामीणों ने अपनी मांग को लेकर फाटक के सामने प्रदर्शन किया।
जींद रोड स्थित फाटक पर आरओबी का निर्माण शुरू हो गया है। डिजाइन के अनुसार जींद की तरफ आरओबी को महमूदपुर मोड़ से आगे मान धर्म काटे के नजदीक उतारा गया है। गाव सिवानका के जगबीर, हरीश, राजबीर, गाव महमूदपुर के मुकेश, गाव छतैहरा के ओमप्रकाश, पप्पू नागपाल, सुभाषचंद्र, रोहताश, हवा सिंह हुड्डा, राजकुमार ठेकेदार, राज सिंह नंबरदार, नरेंद्र आदि ने आरओबी के डिजाइन में बदलाव करने की माग की। जगबीर ने कहा कि महमूदपुर मोड़ से आगे तक आरओबी का निर्माण होने से सात गावों के ग्रामीणों की परेशानी बढ़ जाएगी। उन्होंने कहा कि गाव महमूदपुर, छतैहरा, सिवानका, बुसाना, सिरसाढ़, मातंड, अहर कुराना व एपी माजरा गाव के ग्रामीण इसी मार्ग से गोहाना पहुचते है। रोहताश ने कहा कि आरओबी को जींद की तरफ महमूदपुर मोड़ के पास उतारा जाए। महमूदपुर मोड़ के पास आरओबी उतरने से सातों गावों के ग्रामीणों को भी यहा से आने-जाने की सुविधा मिलेगी। प्रदर्शनकारियों ने कहा कि इस माग को लेकर सातो गावों की पंचायतों से संपर्क किया जाएगा और उसके बाद मुख्यमंत्री के नाम ज्ञापन सौंपा जाएगा।

As per Soni, the road constructed in December 2011 flouted the approved plan for convenience of the contractor and officials, causing monetary loss to the railways.As per the RTI, the diversion road (at level crossing 191-192) was to be constructed on railway land inside 21.33 metre land with road width of 5.85 metre but the road stretched upto 41 metres intruding into private land. Sources said that during construction, neither the land was acquired as per land acquisition act 1894 nor approved plan was looked into.Soni said that the matter was brought to the notice of the authorities concerned three months back. He added, "Railway officials ignored the rule violations during inspections, and despite then DRM being aware of the issue, no action has been taken till date."

Officials are meanwhile undertaking the work of manning, building level height subways (LHS) and making diversion roads to check accidents on the railway track due to unmanned level crossing gates across the division. According to official sources, four diversion roads will be constructed in 2012-13 in the division.

Reportedly, the owner of the private land has also written to the railway authority, citing violation of the rules.

PRO of Ratlam division, Pradeep Sharma said that a joint survey with the contractor and railway officials will be carried out on Thursday and in case any irregularity in construction work is found, necessary changes will be made.

"The railway administration is delaying the investigation process despite cognizance into the matter was taken. Railways may have to construct again a major part of the diversion road if report is clean," he added.

JAIPUR: Railway board chairman Arunendra Kumar said that they are re-checking the feasibility of Ajmer-Kota and Ajmer-Merta routes. The railway minster had sanctioned these two routes in the last rail budget. He added that without confirming the route as feasible it will not be possible to start the project.

Kumar on Monday came to inspect the railway station and carriage and locomotive workshops in Ajmer. Later, he visited the Jaipur railway station and inspected the sanitation and CCTVs installed. He urged the officers to improve things further. RC Agarwal, general manager, north western railways, also accompanied Kumar and briefed him about the latest development work undertaken by the NWR.

कुल 4.4 किलोमीटर लंबी लाइन पर तीन मेट्रो स्टेशन बनाए जाएंगे। मेट्रो लाइन 2.75 किलोमीटर तक ऐलिवेटेड होगी और 1.085 किलोमीटर तक भूमिगत लाइन का निर्माण किया जाएगा। इसके अलावा 595 मीटर का एक रैंप होगा, जोकि मेट्रो लाइन के भूमिगत हिस्से से जुड़ा होगा।
डीएमआरसी ने यह फैसला मेट्रो लाइन के आसपास बने घरों को टूटने से बचाने के लिए लिया। तीसरे चरण के तहत चल रहे विस्तार कार्य के तहत दिसंबर 2016 तक मेट्रो के इस लाइन के काम पूरा करने का लक्ष्य रखा गया है।
बताया जा रहा है कि लाइन के ब्लू प्रिंट बनाते समय डीएमआरसी को दिक्कतों का सामना करना पड़ा था। बनाते वक्त करीब 1.5 किलोमीटर तक घर टूटने की नौबत आ रही थी। लेकिन इंजीनियरों की सलाह के बाद मेट्रो के लिए रास्ता साफ किया। मेट्रो के इस लाइन पर जब परिचालन शुरू होगा, तब करीब 76000 यात्रियों के रोजाना सफर करने का अनुमान है।
बृहस्पतिवार सुबह 10 बजे मेट्रो लाइन का निर्माण कार्य शुरू करने के लिए विधिवत पूजा की गई। जिसमें डीएमआरसी के निदेशक (कार्य) जितेंद्र कुमार व स्थानीय सांसद महाबल मिश्रा भी उपस्थित हुए।

IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation), which offers a web-based service for booking railway tickets, has launched ticket booking apps exclusively for Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8 devices in collaboration with Microsoft.     Ticket bookings through the app will be available throughout the day except for the period from 8am to 12noon, when access to the service is blocked for agents and for mobile devices to reduce load on servers during Tatkal ticket booking window, and from 11:30pm to 12:30am when it's closed for maintenance.   The IRCTC apps can be downloaded from Windows 8 Store and Windows Phone Store, and are free of charge. The apps allow users to plan journeys, book railways tickets, check the status of their PNR, check booking and cancellation history and check ticket availability.   However, you need to sign-up for IRCTC's service and generate a TPIN to login and access all these services through the IRCTC app. At the time of writing this post, we were not able to generate a TPIN using our registered IRCTC user ID so we could not experience the app, first hand. Judging by the screenshots, it seems that the app is not just a wrapper to IRCTC's mobile website and follows Windows Phone's Modern UI design philosophy.   Announcing the availability of the app, Rakesh Tandon, CMD, IRCTC said, "We feel the app is ideal for the modern consumer who is always on the move. Windows is the most trusted and widely used platform and offers the requisite security required while handling vast amounts of personal and financial user data."   According to Microsoft, the app is strongly integrated with Windows Azure for a number of intermediary services.
