Change in timings of trains over North Central Railway w.e.f. 01.07.2013

VADODARA: The Vadodara railway division of Western Railway is conducting a series of surprise ticket checking drives across the division.

On Friday, the division conducted a drive at Vadodara railway station wherein 246 cases of ticket less travel were detected and penalty to the tune of Rs 61,785 was collected. Along with this two penalty cases affecting cleanliness under section 198-C were also registered fetching earning of Rs 100 through the drive involving 21 ticket checking staff.

During the drive, one person named Ravi Shrivastava, 26, was apprehended and handed over to the GRP staff. Investigations revealed that Shrivastava, who is not a railway employee, was posing as a ticket checker.

Similarly, drives were conducted by the division in Bharuch-Surat section on June 27 and Vadodara-Bharuch-Surat-Vadodara section on June 28. During the drive on June 27, the division had detected 132 cases and collected penalty to the tune of Rs 40,720. Along with this nine penalty cases affecting cleanliness were registered fetching earning of Rs 650.

On June 28, 39 cases of ticketless travel were detected and penalty to the tune of Rs 46,010 was collected along with nine penalty cases affecting cleanliness. This drive conducted by 16 ticket checking staff had fetched earning of Rs 550 under section 198-C.

"Similar ticket checking drives have been planned in ensuing days. Passengers are requested to travel with proper ticket so that they are not penalized," senior divisional commercial manager Pradeep Banerjee said.

The Railway Administration is going to start four special trains between Bhopal and Hoshangabad railway stations on July 8 for devotees to have holy dip in Narmada River on the occasion of Somvati Amavasya.Bhopal Railway Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Rajeev Chowdhury has issued orders for preparations and arrangements of facilities and security on the Bhopal and Hoshangabad railway stations.Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (SDCM) Brijendra Kumar said that first special train on July 8 will depart from Bhopal railway station at 3:50 am and will reach Hoshangabad at 5:30 am. The second train with train number 01633 will start from Hoshangabad station at 6:30 am and will reach Bhopal at 9 am.Kumar further said that the third fair special train with number 01632 will start from Bhopal at 6:25 pm and will reach Hoshangabad at 9 pm. The last special train with number 01631 will depart from Hoshangabad railway station at 10 pm and will reach Bhopal at 11:55 pm.Kumar said that all the special trains between Bhopal and Hoshangabad will halt at Habibganj, Misrod, Mandideep, Obadullahganj, Barkheda and Budni railway stations. Total 8 coaches will be present in the special trains including six general coaches and two SLR.

He said that on the occasion additional booking counters will be opened at Hoshangabad railway station, drinking water facility, and special announcement of the trains plying between Bhopal and Hoshangabad and additional security arrangements will be made.

Kumar further said that arrangements are being made to ensure that passengers and devotees do not face any trouble during the fair on Somvati Amavasya.

Bathinda : A surprise mock drill conducted by the Railways Ambala Division left the city-based NGOs and mediaperons perplexed. The railways chose a rather busy day - panchayat samiti elections - to hold the drill.At 3 pm, the media offices got calls from various quarters of the city claiming that a tragedy had happened at the unmanned railway crossing near Katar Singh Wala village. It was claimed that a truck rammed into a moving train killing four persons in the accident.The office of the Deputy Station Superintendent asked the Sahara Welfare Society and Young Welfare Society to send three ambulances and manpower for the rescue work.NGO president Vijay Goyal said two ambulances reached the spot, while third one was on its way when the NGO was told that it was a mock drill. “Whenever the oil depot companies hold a mock drill, they send a letter informing about the event to the NGOs at least 10 days in advance. It is up to the NGOs whether they want to participate in the drill or not,” said Goyal.However, in this case, the railway authorities kept the entire mock drill under the wraps. A member of the NGO said people suffered because of the fake call as help could not reach them on time.“Had we been informed that it was a mock drill, we would have preferred not to participate and instead concentrate on our social work,” said Goyal.Government Railways Police SHO Kuljeet Singh and officials of the district police were not aware about the event.It is learnt that even the railway officials were caught unawares. a train near the Katar Singh Wala unmanned railway crossing.Following the protocol meant for such situations, the railway authorities at Bathinda got into action and immediately sent a medical train and an accident relief train to the accident site.At 12.40 noon, when a team of 42 officials reached track near the Bathinda cantonment, they again received a call from the Ambala division headquarters asking the officials to report their geographic position.“We told them that the entire team was on its way for the rescue operation. In his maiden visit to Bangalore post taking over as the Union Railway Minister, Mallikarjun Kharge conducted a review meeting with Railways and GoK officials. Subodh Jain, Member Engineering, Railway Board; GMs of South Western Railway, South Central Railway, Central Railway and the Rail Wheel Factory were present for the meet. S V Ranganath, Chief Secretary, GoK along with principal secretaries of the IDD and Revenue departments were also present for the meet  All ongoing railway projects in Karnataka were reviewed in detail. According to a SWR release, of the 27 projects in Karnataka, at an anticipated cost of Rs.22400 crores, cost for 16 are being shared by GoK.

    Dwarakanath P, CMD of PSU major, Bharat Earth Movers Ltd. met the Union Railway Minister, Mallikarjuna Kharge. The one on one meet of the BEML CMD with Kharge was regarding supply of rail coaches to the Indian Railways and the Metro. BEML is expanding its Rail and Metro business to meet the demand of the Indian Railways and upcoming Metro projects in different cities in the country.

मेट्रो स्टेशन पर सीआईएसएफ कर्मी ने 2.25 लाख रुपये नकदी भरा लावारिस बैग उसके असली हकदार को लौटा दिया. दिल्ली मेट्रो स्टेशन पर 2.25 लाख रुपये नकदी से भरे एक लावारिस बैग को सीआईएसएफ के एक जवान ने उसके असली हकदार के हवाले कर दिया.     

यह घटना गुरुवार की देर शाम तब हुई जब हेड कांस्टेबल एम तिर्की को चावड़ी बाजार मेट्रो स्टेशन के एक्सरे स्कैनर पर एक लावारिस बैग का पता चला. बाद में बैग को इसके असली मालिक के हवाले कर दिया गया. 

    

एक अलग मामले में सीआईएसएफ जांच दल ने नेहरू प्लेस स्टेशन से दो जेबकतरों को पकड़ा. उसके पास से चोरी का मोबाइल फोन बरामद किया गया.
