Shri D. Lakshmanan, has assumed charge as Chief Public Relations Officer of Southern Railway o­n 15.7.2013. He belongs to the Indian Railways Traffic Service (IRTS). Prior to the present assignment he was Senior Divisional Commercial Manager in Salem Division, Southern Railway.

The order further strengthens the position of Siemens Infrastructure and Cities Sector as a leader in sustainable urban transportation solutions for India.
A consortium comprising Siemens Ltd. and Siemens AG has bagged an order worth Rs. 248 crores from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (DMRC) for the electrification of Phase III of the Delhi Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS). Out of the total order value, the value for Siemens Ltd. is Rs. 176 crores and for Siemens AG it is Rs. 72 crores. Siemens won the order through an international competitive bidding. This is the first major rail electrification contract awarded by DMRC to the Smart Grid divi-sion of Siemens Infrastructure and Cities Sector.
The project will be delivered in various phases starting with the Central Secretariat- to-Mandi House phase.
The scope of the project includes design, manufacture, supply and commissioning of state-of-the-art 25kV AC rigid catenary system for overhead line electrical supply. The project involves electrification of 26 route-kilometer of tunnels and 42 auxillary sub-stations along the MRTS corridor.
Tilak Raj Seth, Executive Vice President and Sector Cluster Lead – Infrastructure & Cities, Siemens South Asia, said, “Having completed two phases of the metro con-struction in a highly-populated and congested part of Delhi, the DMRC has awarded Siemens with the electrification contract to energize phase III of this project. This order manifests the dependable traction power supply and contact line systems that are a part of our portfolio. The order win from DMRC is further evidence of our strong position in this segment in India.”
Solutions from Siemens Infrastructure and Cities Sector increase efficiency through reliable track feeding points and fewer connections to the distribution grid, which reduces losses and have the ability to support higher traction loads. Siemens is one of the leaders in rail electrification with solutions ranging from electromechanical overhead contact line components to highly-integrated, closed and open-loop control technologies for traction power supplies.

महिलाओं के लिए ट्रेन में सफ़र करना दहशत का सबब बन गया है। यहां तक कि वीआईपी ट्रेनों में भी महिलाएं खुद को सुरक्षित महसूस नहीं कर सकतीं।   इससे भी ज्यादा शर्मनाक यह है कि सेना के जवान भी इन सब मामलों में पीछे नहीं हैं। जिन जवानों के कंधों पर भारत माता की इज्ज़त टिकी है, वे ही देश की महिलाओं की इज़्जत के साथ खेल रहे हैं।    ऐसा ही एक मामला नई दिल्ली से सियालदह जा रही राजधानी एक्सप्रेस ट्रेन का आया है। चलती ट्रेन के अंदर यात्रा के दौरान एक युवती के साथ सेना के दो जवानों ने छेड़छाड़ के साथ-साथ कई घिनौनी हरकतें भी की।   सह-यात्रियों के विरोध के चलते दोनों अपने मंसूबों में कामयाब नहीं हो पाए। ट्रेन के मुगलसराय स्टेशन पहुंचने पर पीड़िता की शिकायत पर जीआरपी ने दोनों जवानों को गिरफ्तार कर जेल भेज दिया। युवती एमसीए की स्टूडेंट है।

जानकारी के मुताबिक युवती नई दिल्ली से चलकर सियालदह जा रही 12314 डाउन सियालदह राजधानी एक्सप्रेस ट्रेन के B-6 कोच में सफ़र कर रही थी। वह कोलकाता की रहने वाली है। उसका आरोप है कि रात में दस बजे के करीब सेना के दो जवान उसकी सीट के पास आये और बदसलूकी करने लगे। जवानों ने कई घिनौनी और शर्मनाक हरकतें करनी भी शुरू कर दी।

आधी रात के बाद ट्रेन के  मुगलसराय पहुंचने पर युवती ने जीआरपी में शिकायत की। दोनों जवानों को गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया है। 

बहरहाल, जीआरपी ने केरल और मुर्शिदाबाद में तैनात इन दोनों जवानों को गिरफ़्तार कर जेल भेज दिया है। जीआरपी इंस्पेक्टर रतन सिंह यादव ने बताया कि ट्रेन कानपुर स्टेशन से खुली तो इन जवानों ने युवती के साथ ना सिर्फ छेड़छाड़ की बल्कि कई अश्लील हरकतें करने की भी कोशिश की।

यात्रियों के विरोध की वजह से दोनों अपने मंसूबों में कामयाब नहीं हो सके। ट्रेन के मुग़लसराय पहुंचने पर पीड़िता की तहरीर पर जीआरपी मुगलसराय ने जवानों के खिलाफ़ छेड़छाड़ का मामला दर्ज कर गिरफ्तार कर लिया है।

Railway Minister Mallikarjun Kharge has announced that the Solapur-Yeshwantpur Express, which is running thrice a week, will run daily from September 15.

He told reporters here on Sunday that measures will be initiated to expand the Yeshwantpur railway station as it is congested now.

The Union Minister also said that a Railway Recruitment Board office will be set up in Gulbarg. The Union Minister said that the Mysore-Bangalore track doubling work, halted because of delay in shifting of Tipu Sultan’s artillery, will resume soon after the state government shifts the historical monument.

The work in Mandya will be taken once land is made available to the railways, Mallikarjun Kharge said.

 “I have spoken to Housing Minister Ambareesh, who is also Mandya MLA, in this regard,” he added.

देवभूमि उत्तराखंड में आई भीषण तबाही और उसके बाद की त्रासदी से निबटने के लिए पूरा देश एकजुट हो गया है। इस कड़ी में कोंकण रेलवे प्रशासन ने भी अपनी तरफ से 21 लाख रुपये की मदद राशि प्रधानमंत्री राष्ट्रीय आपदा सहायता कोष में भेजी है।

कोपरखैरणे की सड़कों का होगा डांबरीकरण

मनपा प्रशासन कोपरखैरणे सेक्टर-14 की सड़कों का डांबरीकरण करने वाली है। मनपा इस पर करीब 2 करोड़ 8 लाख 34 हजार रुपये खर्च करेगी। एनएमएमसी स्टैंडिंग कमिटी यह प्रस्ताव पहले ही मंजूर कर चुकी है और साल भर में यह काम पूरा कर दिया जाएगा।

रेल बजट में घोषित नई ट्रेनों का लाभ छत्तीसगढ़ के रेल यात्रियों को अभी मिलने वाला नहीं है। इनके परिचालन को लेकर अभी रेलवे बोर्ड के पास भी कोई दिशा-निर्देश नहीं आए हैं।

इस वजह से नई ट्रेनों को लेकर इस समय असमंजस की स्थिति बन गई है। हालांकि रेलवे सूत्रों से मिली जानकारी में बताया गया है कि लोकसभा चुनाव को देखते हुए बजट में घोषित नई ट्रेनों को जल्द से जल्द चलाने की तैयारी चल रही है।अगस्त के अंतिम और सितंबर महीने के प्रथम सप्ताह तक नई ट्रेनों में से कुछेक का परिचालन शुरू हो जाएगा।

नवंबर तक सभी ट्रेनें पूरी तरह से चलने लगेंगी। इस साल के रेल बजट में आठ नई ट्रेनों की सौगात मिली है। लेकिन रायपुर स्टेशन से होकर गुजरने वाली इन नई ट्रेनों के परिचालन की तिथि की घोषणा अभी तक नहीं हुई है। यहां तक कि नई ट्रेनों का अभी तक रूट चार्ट भी पूरी तरह जारी नहीं किया गया है। 1 जुलाई से इन ट्रेनों की समय-सारणी घोषित कर दी गई है।


कई बार ऐसा भी होता है कि बजट घोषणा के एक साल बाद तक भी कई ट्रेनें शुरू नहीं हो पातीं। मंडल अधिकारियों का कहना है कि अभी तक नई ट्रेनों के लिए रैक नहीं आई हैं। रैक आने के बाद ही परिचालन की तिथि तय होगी।



नई ट्रेनों से सीधे जुड़ जाएंगे कई शहर

नई ट्रेनों में एक ही दैनिक ट्रेन है। बाकी सभी ट्रेनें साप्ताहिक और द्वि साप्ताहिक हैं। दुर्ग-छपरा-दुर्ग एक्सप्रेस की समय-सारणी घोषित कर दी गई है, लेकिन अभी तक इसके परिचालन की तिथि तय नहीं की जा सकी है। यह ट्रेन प्रतिदिन दुर्ग से छपरा और छपरा से दुर्ग के लिए रवाना होगी। दुर्ग-छपरा-दुर्ग सारनाथ एक्सप्रेस को अब गोंदिया-मुजफ्फरपुर-गोंदिया के रूप में चलाया जाएगा। इस ट्रेन का दायरा भले ही बढ़ा दिया गया है, लेकिन रायपुर में इसके समय को बदला नहीं गया है।

इसी ट्रेन के एवज में दुर्ग से छपरा तक नई ट्रेन चलाई जाएगी। यह ट्रेन रायपुर में रात्रि 12.05 में पहुंचकर 12.15 बजे छूटेगी। अन्य ट्रेनों के शुरू होने से जयपुर, जम्मूतवी, अमृतसर, बिकानेर, जोधपुर, शिर्डी, पुरी और अजमेर जाने वाले यात्रियों को विशेष लाभ मिलेगा। ट्रेनों के शुरू होने का लोग इंतजार कर रहे हैं।



लोकसभा चुनाव के चलते जल्दी शुरू होंगी ट्रेन

विभिन्न रूट की ट्रेनों का परिचालन इस बार अन्य साल की तुलना में जल्द होने की उम्मीद है। बताया गया है कि लोकसभा चुनाव अगले साल होने वाला है, इसके मद्देनजर बजट के घोषित नई ट्रेनों की रैक जल्दी ही बोर्ड व जोन को भेज दी जाएगी। नई ट्रेनों को शुरू करने के लिए उच्च स्तर पर कार्रवाई भी चल रही है। उम्मीद है कि सितंबर-अक्टूबर तक सभी ट्रेनों का परिचालन शुरू कर दिया जाएगा।



यह हैं आठ नई ट्रेनें

NEW DELHI: If you are unhappy with any of the services offered by Delhi Metro, here's your chance to be heard. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is planning a feedback survey of commuters as part of its "customer satisfaction week".

The survey - first of its kind since the Delhi Metro started operations in 2002 - comes after a series of incidents like technical breakdown that led to commuters being stranded for almost an hour in the Udyog Bhawan metro station, the exit of the concessionaire from the Airport link and delays in its most crowded corridors like the Yellow (Jahangirpuri to HUDA city centre) and Blue (Dwarka sector 21 to Noida/Vaishali) lines.

"We will be observing customer satisfaction week from July 15-21 during which commuters will be asked for their feedback on various aspects of operations, their expectations and improvements required to make our service better", said a Delhi Metro spokesperson.

While a number of activities are planned for the week, the "satisfaction survey" will be conducted in the top 22 metro stations in the network in terms of ridership. It will be the first time that the DMRC will ask for feedback from its growing ridership, which now touches the 22 lakh figure.

"The survey will include seven aspects of Delhi Metro services, such as availability, accessibility, information availability, quality of service, customer care, comfort, safety and security," said the Delhi Metro spokesperson. The stations to be covered include Rajiv Chowk (6,14,712 footfall), Chandni Chowk (66,243), Anand Vihar (28,374), Saket (37,014) and many others.

"Recently, many new initiatives were implemented like reservation of more seats for elderly and disabled commuters, raising awareness about them by conducting special drives on Saturdays and Sundays, imparting sign language training to station staff to facilitate hearing impaired passengers", he said.

During the week, other activities like smart card promotion drive, women coach drive, reverse journey drive, spreading awareness about the use of lifts and escalators, making queues at token counters, will be undertaken, the spokesperson added.

Flight service to Singapore and Dubai will be introduced from Madurai in six months, said Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation, K.C. Venugopal, here on Sunday.Commissioning the newly converted Broad Gauge section between Manamadurai and Virudhunagar here, he said that the Madurai airport runway had to be extended to at least 12,000 feet for operation of international flights. (As of now the Madurai airport runway has a length of about 7,500 feet only).Though sufficient land had been acquired by the State Government, some more had to be acquired and handed over to the Airports Authority of India (AAI) following a need to realign the highway that runs nearby.“The Centre was ready to extend all possible financial help. But right now there is shortage of manpower, including pilots. Efforts are under way to recruit the required manpower and the exercise would be over early next year,” the Union Minister said.Stating that that the broad gauge conversion work involving reconstruction of five major bridges, 145 minor bridges, five stations, including three crossing stations and 31 level crossings, was completed at a cost of Rs. 230 crore, Mr.Venugopal pointed out that the United Progressive Alliance Government I and II had contributed a lot for infrastructure development in various parts of the country.

He expressed hope that the new Manamadurai-Virudhunagar section would usher in economic development of the region.

B. Manickam Tagore, the local MP, said that Aruppukottai should be made a junction and more amenities should be provided. Besides, railway authorities should ensure that more trains stop at Aruppukottai.

First train

Railway sources that Puducherry-Kanyakumari Special (train number 06861), to be flagged off by Union Minister of State for Railways K. Surya Prakash Reddy at Puducherry at 5.00 p.m. on Monday, would be the first train to cross this new section. It will reach Kanyakumari on Tuesday at 8.40 a.m.

Regular (weekly) service of this train from Puducherry will begin on Thursday and from Kanyakumari on Friday.
