Union Railway Minister Mallikarjun Kharge today laid the foundation stone for doubling railway line between Hospet and Tinaighat section of the South Western Railway (SWR), covering a distance of 245 kms at Londa High School Ground.In the first phase, for this year, Rs 300 crore had been allocated and next year, again Rs 300 crore will be given.The Hospet-Hubli-Londa-Tinaighat is a section of Bellary-Hospet-Vasco-da-Gama route (407 kms) which was converted from Metre Gauge to Broad Gauge during 1997.The section is saturated with current level of traffic.The railway line passes through Bellary, Koppal, Gadag, Dharwad, Belgaum and Uttara Kannada Districts of Karnataka State.Bellary-Hospet Region in Karnataka is the heart of Iron ore industry in the country.Iron ore is an important export commodity, earning valuable foreign exchange for the country.

रेल बजट में घोषित नई ट्रेनों का लाभ छत्तीसगढ़ के रेल यात्रियों को अभी मिलने वाला नहीं है। इनके परिचालन को लेकर अभी रेलवे बोर्ड के पास भी कोई दिशा-निर्देश नहीं आए हैं।

इस वजह से नई ट्रेनों को लेकर इस समय असमंजस की स्थिति बन गई है। हालांकि रेलवे सूत्रों से मिली जानकारी में बताया गया है कि लोकसभा चुनाव को देखते हुए बजट में घोषित नई ट्रेनों को जल्द से जल्द चलाने की तैयारी चल रही है।अगस्त के अंतिम और सितंबर महीने के प्रथम सप्ताह तक नई ट्रेनों में से कुछेक का परिचालन शुरू हो जाएगा।

नवंबर तक सभी ट्रेनें पूरी तरह से चलने लगेंगी। इस साल के रेल बजट में आठ नई ट्रेनों की सौगात मिली है। लेकिन रायपुर स्टेशन से होकर गुजरने वाली इन नई ट्रेनों के परिचालन की तिथि की घोषणा अभी तक नहीं हुई है। यहां तक कि नई ट्रेनों का अभी तक रूट चार्ट भी पूरी तरह जारी नहीं किया गया है। 1 जुलाई से इन ट्रेनों की समय-सारणी घोषित कर दी गई है।


कई बार ऐसा भी होता है कि बजट घोषणा के एक साल बाद तक भी कई ट्रेनें शुरू नहीं हो पातीं। मंडल अधिकारियों का कहना है कि अभी तक नई ट्रेनों के लिए रैक नहीं आई हैं। रैक आने के बाद ही परिचालन की तिथि तय होगी।



नई ट्रेनों से सीधे जुड़ जाएंगे कई शहर

नई ट्रेनों में एक ही दैनिक ट्रेन है। बाकी सभी ट्रेनें साप्ताहिक और द्वि साप्ताहिक हैं। दुर्ग-छपरा-दुर्ग एक्सप्रेस की समय-सारणी घोषित कर दी गई है, लेकिन अभी तक इसके परिचालन की तिथि तय नहीं की जा सकी है। यह ट्रेन प्रतिदिन दुर्ग से छपरा और छपरा से दुर्ग के लिए रवाना होगी। दुर्ग-छपरा-दुर्ग सारनाथ एक्सप्रेस को अब गोंदिया-मुजफ्फरपुर-गोंदिया के रूप में चलाया जाएगा। इस ट्रेन का दायरा भले ही बढ़ा दिया गया है, लेकिन रायपुर में इसके समय को बदला नहीं गया है।

इसी ट्रेन के एवज में दुर्ग से छपरा तक नई ट्रेन चलाई जाएगी। यह ट्रेन रायपुर में रात्रि 12.05 में पहुंचकर 12.15 बजे छूटेगी। अन्य ट्रेनों के शुरू होने से जयपुर, जम्मूतवी, अमृतसर, बिकानेर, जोधपुर, शिर्डी, पुरी और अजमेर जाने वाले यात्रियों को विशेष लाभ मिलेगा। ट्रेनों के शुरू होने का लोग इंतजार कर रहे हैं।



लोकसभा चुनाव के चलते जल्दी शुरू होंगी ट्रेन

विभिन्न रूट की ट्रेनों का परिचालन इस बार अन्य साल की तुलना में जल्द होने की उम्मीद है। बताया गया है कि लोकसभा चुनाव अगले साल होने वाला है, इसके मद्देनजर बजट के घोषित नई ट्रेनों की रैक जल्दी ही बोर्ड व जोन को भेज दी जाएगी। नई ट्रेनों को शुरू करने के लिए उच्च स्तर पर कार्रवाई भी चल रही है। उम्मीद है कि सितंबर-अक्टूबर तक सभी ट्रेनों का परिचालन शुरू कर दिया जाएगा।

The Crime Branch of the Delhi Police has arrested two more persons, including a Delhi Police constable, for the leak of the Railway Recruitment Board competitive exam question paper.Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav said the two have been identified as Mohit Kumar, posted with the Defence Colony police station in South Delhi, and Jai Kiran. "Earlier, we had arrested six candidates, including Robin and Sunny in the case. Robin and Sunny led us to Mohit and Jai Karan," he said.Sunny told police that he had received the answer keys over messages from three mobile phone numbers. "With the help of technical surveillance, we traced one mobile number to Mohit," Yadav said.Mohit told police that Pawan from Sinoli, UP, who is known for running recruitment rackets in Western UP, had contacted Mohit and offered to provide answer keys of the recruitment test on June 30. "Pawan struck a deal with Mohit for Rs 3 lakh. Mohit paid Rs 50,000 as advance, and later provided the answer keys to his brother Sunny," Yadav said.During questioning, Jai Kiran told police that he used to provide answer keys of various competitive examinations held for government services through his associate Vikas.Police said Robin, who was appearing for the Multi Tasking Staff (MTS) exam conducted by SSC, had approached Jai and paid him Rs 70,000 for the answer keys.

However, when Jai was not able to arrange for the answers to the MTS exam, he promised Robin that he would get him the answer key for the Railways exam, police said.

VIRUDHUNAGAR: The Virudhunagar - Manamadurai broad gauge (BG) section was formally inaugurated and dedicated to the nation at a ceremony held in Aruppukottai on Sunday. A diesel locomotive was flagged off on the occasion by Union civil aviation minister for state, K C Venugopal.

The 67-km stretch was reopened for train traffic after a period of five years and much persuasion from the local forums. The gauge conversion work was sanctioned during the railway budget in 2007-08. The stretch traverses through Virudhunagar and Sivaganga districts in Madurai railway division. The gauge conversion work for the project cost of Rs 231.58 crore involved reconstruction of five major bridges, 145 minor bridges, five stations including three crossing stations and 31 level crossings.

According to railway officials, the newly converted Virudhunagar - Manamadurai section when combined with the Trichy - Manamadurai section provides a perfect alternative route to the heavily congested Trichy - Dindigul - Madurai - Virudhunagar route. Further, the section is a flatter terrain with the ruling gradient of 1 in 200 making it a perfect route for goods traffic. The sanctioned sectional speed is 80 kmph at present. Upon commissioning, the Puducherry - Kanyakumari - Puducherry Weekly Express will be operated on this section. Train Number 16861 Kanyakumari - Puducherry Weekly Express will be operated every Thursdays while train number 16862 Puducherry - Kanyakumari Express will ply on Fridays. The announcement on operating passenger trains or express trains in the newly-converted section will be done later, railway officials said.

Members of the public, who were present during the inaugural function urged the railway authorities to operate more number of trains and provide stoppage at Aruppukottai since it was one of the important business centres in the district.

S Sivapragasam, municipal chairman of Aruppukottai said that the reopening of the section was one of the long-pending demands of the local people after it was closed in 2007. He suggested the railways to extend the recently-inaugurated Silambu Express that at present runs between Manamadurai and Chennai, up to Virudhunagar which will greatly help the people in the locality.

Virudhunagar MP, Manick Tagore in his speech said that Manamadurai - Virudhunagar section is part of the Madurai - Tuticorin railway project which is being planned by the centre and the section will eventually grow in the coming years, he said. He would pursue the matter of operating more trains in the section and added that efforts would be taken to make Aruppukottai as a junction.

Divisional railway manager, A K Rastogi, chief administrative officer (constructions), S Vijayakumaran, additional divisional railway manager, V Ajithkumar were present along with other railway officials from the division.

Railway Minister Mallikarjun Kharge has announced that the Solapur-Yeshwantpur Express, which is running thrice a week, will run daily from September 15.

He told reporters here on Sunday that measures will be initiated to expand the Yeshwantpur railway station as it is congested now.

The Union Minister also said that a Railway Recruitment Board office will be set up in Gulbarg. The Union Minister said that the Mysore-Bangalore track doubling work, halted because of delay in shifting of Tipu Sultan’s artillery, will resume soon after the state government shifts the historical monument.

The work in Mandya will be taken once land is made available to the railways, Mallikarjun Kharge said.

 “I have spoken to Housing Minister Ambareesh, who is also Mandya MLA, in this regard,” he added.
