Train No.12615 Chennai Central – New Delhi GT express scheduled to leave ChennaiCentral at 19.15 hrs. on 26.07.2013 is rescheduled to leave Chennai Central at 21.15 hrs. on 26.07.2013, due to late running of pairing train.

VADODARA: A passenger train is being introduced by the railways on between Nadiad and Modasa on a regular basis. The section was upgraded to broad gauge from narrow gauge in 2002 and was opened for traffic on October 27.A release here stated that initially only one pair of trains was operational between Nadiad and Modasa. This saw an average traffic of 799 passengers fetching earnings of Rs. 6,376 over this section.With demand of local representatives, an additional train was introduced between the two stations in February this year on an experimental basis with four general coaches and one luggage coach. It had a passenger capacity of 400 persons.The service is now being regularized as the passenger traffic increased to 1,040 persons and it fetched an earning of Rs 9,026. The train shall leave Nadiad at 10am and reach Modasa at 1.30pm. It will leave Modasa at 2.15pm and reach Nadiad at 5.45pm.The regularised pair of trains will be formally flagged off by union minister of state for mines Dinsha Patel on Friday. Vadodara divisional railway manager N K Shukla shall also remain present on the occasion.

The High Power Committee (HPC) on Lucknow Metro Rail gave its nod to start work on the Amausi-Munshipulia stretch in the first phase of the project.

At the same time, it asked the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to immediately commence the techno-feasibility study on the 42-kilometer alternative corridor for the ring metro line including the Gomti Nagar link, Tulsi Das Marg, Subhash Marg and Mill Road.

Work on the first phase would start with the construction of a depot that would come up on 50 acres of 32nd PAC Battalion land near Amausi Airport on Kanpur Road.

The deadline for completion of this phase (North-South corridor) is March 2018 while the second phase (East-West corridor) would be over by March 2019, according to the HPC.

A panel comprising principal secretaries of the departments concerned has been constituted to carry out the necessary physical survey of the proposed depot site and submit its findings within 15 days.

Likewise, another panel under principal secretary, finance, has been asked by chief secretary Jawed Usmani to vet the memorandum of articles and association proposed for the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) and give its opinion within 15 days.

The chief secretary presided over the HPC.

“These are necessary procedural formalities that have to be followed. We have collected all basic information and completed paper work related to the formation of the SPV,” said an official, who attended the meeting.

DMRC general manager (consultancy service) Arun Kumar Singh gave a presentation of the revised blueprint of the metro project to the committee.

A sub-panel headed by secretary, housing and chairman of the Lucknow Metro Cell, Rajeev Aggarwal presented a report to the HPC on generating funds from additional resources for the project.

While agreeing in principle with the measures suggested by the panel, the HPC referred the matter to the departments concerned to give their opinion on whether the same could be implemented without any legal hassles.

For the first time, a member of the North-Eastern Railway was also invited to the meeting, which among others was attended by principal secretaries of housing, Sadakant, home, RM Srivastava, finance, Anand Mishra, planning Sanjiv Mittal, transport, BS Bhullar and several other senior officials.

Four hours night block will be carried out from 23.55 hrs to 03.55 hrs in the night falling between 27th/28th July, 2013 o­n Up Through (i.e. fast) & fifth line between Mahim Jn. and Mumbai Central for maintenance of track, signalling and overhead equipments. During the block, all Up through line trains will be run o­n Up local (i.e. slow) lines between Santacruz and Mumbai Central.

Detailed information to this effect is available with concerned Station Masters. Passengers are requested to take note of the above arrangements.

स्पेन में गुरुवार को हुए यूरोप के सबसे भीषण ट्रेन हादसे में घायल ड्राइवर से पूछताछ होगी। इस हादसे में 80 लोगों की मौत हो गई थी जबकि 95 यात्री घायल हो गए थे।
हादसे की जांच कर रहे सैंटियागो डी कंपोस्टेला के जज ने पुलिस को ट्रेन के 52 वर्षीय ड्राइवर फ्रांसिस्को जोस गार्जन से पूछताछ का आदेश दिया है। हालांकि उसे अभी तक गिरफ्तार नहीं किया गया है, लेकिन पुलिस की सुरक्षा में वह अस्पताल में भर्ती है। जांच में यह पता लगाने की कोशिश की जा रही है कि ट्रेन इतनी अधिक गति से क्यों दौड़ रही थी और उसमें लगे सुरक्षा उपकरण निर्धारित गति सीमा को क्यों नियंत्रित नहीं कर सके?
स्पेन के किंग जुआन कार्लोस और क्वीन सोफिया घायलों को देखने अस्पताल पहुंचीं। किंग ने कहा कि इस दुख की घड़ी में स्पेनवासियों को एकजुट होने की जरूरत है। प्रधानमंत्री मारियानो रेजॉय ने देश में तीन दिन का राष्ट्रीय शोक घोषित किया है। साथ ही सैंटियागो में आयोजित ईसाई उत्सव को भी निरस्त कर दिया गया है।
मीडिया रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, गुरुवार की रात हादसे के वक्त ट्रेन 190 किमी प्रतिघंटा की रफ्तार से दौड़ रही थी, जबकि अधिकतम गति 80 किमी प्रतिघंटा निर्धारित थी। यह घटना उस समय हुई जब ट्रेन गैलिसिया प्रांत की राजधानी सैंटियागो डी कंपोस्टेला स्टेशन में प्रवेश करने वाली थी। तभी डिब्बे पटरी से उतरकर एक-दूसरे पर चढ़ गए और कंक्रीट की दीवार से टकरा गए। ट्रेन में 247 यात्री और पांच रेलकर्मी सवार थे। ट्रेन में सवार लोग यूरोप का सबसे बड़ा ईसाई उत्सव मनाने के लिए सैंटियागो जा रहे थे। हादसे में अमेरिका और मैक्सिको के एक-एक नागरिक की मौत हुई है जबकि 13 शवों की शिनाख्त शुक्रवार तक नहीं हो पाई थी।

Having reached a high of being the country’s railway minister, Chandigarh MP Pawan Kumar Bansal is struggling to keep himself politically afloat.Having been forced to resign in May over an alleged cash-for-top job bribery case involving his nephew, Bansal is trying to salvage his political battleground – Chandigarh – keeping in mind the fact that the next general election is less than a year away. Bansal may have found temporary solace in the fact that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which arrested his nephew Vijay Singla and a few others in the case in May, had made him a witness in the case and not an accused, as demanded by the opposition. But the final word on the controversy is yet to be said and it is the courts which will decide Bansal’s fate.The controversy has put Bansal in a tight spot – his political future versus his family ties.Having been made a witness by the CBI, Bansal may have to depose against his own nephew and his (nephew’s) friends involved and arrested in the case. The nephew, despite Bansal’s claims that they had no business dealings, was an important entity in the last few years as Bansal’s political fortunes rose. The fortunes of Bansal’s relatives too grew with his ascendency.

The question being asked now is: Will Bansal will depose before his own nephew to save his own (political) skin?

The former railway minister, who has been elected from Chandigarh four times, now faces a political onslaught not only from the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) but has to be cautious of senior national level leaders from his own Congress party who could be looking at Chandigarh for their political prospects in the near future.

Two names already doing rounds in Congress circles here are of Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Manish Tewari and Law Minister Kapil Sibal. Both have a strong Chandigarh connection – having grown up and studied here and with their close relatives living here.

After his unceremonious exit from Rail Bhawan, Bansal not only made a quiet entry to Chandigarh but has remained largely low-profile and media-shy. He has been carefully engaging his close political aides to work out his local visits and meetings so that he remains in political circulation.

The soft-spoken leader now looks tense and gets irritated quickly, especially when the media is around. After being dethroned, Bansal is even alleged to have threatened a journalist here. In his limited – and carefully chosen – interactions with the media, Bansal clearly tries to put up a brave face, knowing fully well that he is fighting with his back to the wall

The train numbers, days of service and timings of some trains have been changed.

The 12770 Secunderabad-Tirupati Seven Hills bi-weekly express will leave Secunderabad on Fridays instead of on Saturdays with effect from  September 6. There is no change in the departure on Tuesdays.

The 12769 Tirupati-Secunderabad bi-weekly Seven Hills express will  depart Tirupati on Mondays instead of on Sundays with effect from  September 9. There is no change in the departure on Fridays.

Train No.22871 Bhubaneswar-Tirupati weekly express will leave Bhubaneswar on Sundays instead of on Saturdays with effect from September 8 and the 22872 Tirupati-Bhubaneswar Express will depart from Tirupati on Mondays instead of on Sundays with effect from September 9.

The 22819 Visakhapatnam-Mumbai LTT bi-weekly express will be renumbered as 18519  with effect from September 10. It will leave Visakhapatnam on Wednesdays and Saturday at 23.30 hours instead of 08.45 hours and arrive at Mumbai LTT at 04.40 hours on the  next day instead of at 11.05 hours.

The 22820 Mumbai LTT-Visakhapatnam bi-weekly will be renumbered as 18520 from September 12. It will depart Mumbai LTT on Fridays and Mondays at 06.55 hours instead of at 12.25 hours and arrive at Visakhapatnam at 11.15 hours on the next day instead of at 14.45 hours.

DIVERSION: The South Central Railway will divert train 16351 CST Mumbai-Nagercoil-CST Mumbai Balaji Express to run via Renigunta without touching Tirupati from September 3 and the 16352 Nagercoil-CST Mumbai Balaji Express from September 5.
