NORTHERN RAILWAY EXTENDS THE RUN OF  04511/04512 MEMU (DAILY) SPECIAL TRAIN BETWEEN SAHARANPUR- AMBALA CANTT.- SAHARANPUR(62 TRIPS)

          To clear extra rush of passengers, Northern Railway has decided to extend the run of train No. 04511/04512 Saharanpur- Ambala Cantt.- Saharanpur MEMU (Daily) special with immediate effect upto 09.09.2013  as per the following programme:

          The 04511 Saharanpur- Ambala Cantt. MEMU (Daily) special train will depart from Saharanpur at 04.45 a.m. to reach Ambala Cantt. at 06.30 a.m. the same day. In the return direction, the 04512 Ambala Cantt.- Saharanpur MEMU (Daily) special train will depart from Ambala Cantt. at 08.35 p.m. to reach Saharanpurat 10.35 p.m. the same day.

          The 04511/04512 Saharanpur- Ambala Cantt.- Saharanpur MEMU (Daily) special train will stop at Pilkhani, Sarsawa, Kalanaur, Jagadhari, Jagadhari Workshop, Darazpur, Mustafabad, Barara, Tandwal, Kesari & Dukheri stations enroute in both the directions.

Ferozepur:
The much-awaited Ferozepur-Delhi Sarai Rohilla Intercity Express was flagged off at the cantonment railway station amid jubilation this morning. Lok Sabha MP from Ferozepur Sher Singh Ghubaya, former MP Jagmeet Brar, legislator Parminder Singh Pinki and NC Goyal, DRM, Ferozepur Division, were among those present on the occasion.
The intercity train (14626) would start from Ferozepur daily at 4.30 am and reach the Delhi Sarai Rohilla station at 11.45 am via Faridkot, Kotkapura, Bhatinda, Mansa, Jakhal, Narwana, Jind and Rohtak. On its return journey, the train would start at 6.45 am and reach Ferozepur at 2.45 pm. The train had 15 coaches, including two AC coaches, five sleepers, and two brake vans.

Chennai: The Madras bench of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) has dismissed an application fro­m the general manager of the Integrated Coach Fac­tory (ICF), to constitute a fresh selection committee comprising officials from traffic and accounts of the railway board and conduct a fresh selection for the post of member (technical), Railway Cla­ims Tri­bunal.Dismissing the petition from Abhay Kumar Kha­nna who was working as GM, ICF, the bench comprising judicial member K. Elango and administrative member Naresh Gupta held that CAT has no jurisdiction and competence over the issue.Advocate A. Abdul Ajees, counsel for the petitioner, contended that Abhay Kumar Khanna had app­lied for the post of member (technical), in the Railway Claims Tribunal in res­ponse to an advertisement dated January 31, 2013 and attended an interview on April 13, 2013.The selection committee was not constituted as per law. On May 23, 2013, he submitted a representation to the ministry of railways. As there was no response, the official filed this petition.

P. Srinivasan, senior standing counsel for railways, argued that CAT has no jurisdiction to decide the issue and prayed for dismissal of the petition.

Citing a judgment of the HC  where it was observed that the selection of a member (judicial) of the Railway Claims Tribunal was governed by the provisions of the Railway Claims Act, Srinivasan said CAT cannot go into the aspects of appointment of a person to the bench of another tribunal, also governed by a similar enactment. The Railway Claims Tribunal was on the same footing as that of CAT, he added.

Concurring, the bench dismissed the application.

Jammu: Rail services were disrupted on Saturday on the Jammu-Pathankot route as the ABVP activists stopped a train at the Kathua railway station protesting the recent clashes at Kishtwar district. Demanding sacking of the Minister of State for Home, Sajjad Ahmed Kitchloo over the Kishtwar incident, the activists of ABVP blocked the railway tracks and raised anti-government slogans, police said. The Ahmedabad-bound train from Jammu was stopped for a brief period by the activists at the Kathua station. However, the rail services were restored when the protesters left the spot. Several political parties, including BJP, have blamed Kitchloo for the clashes between the two communities and demanded a high-level probe by independent authority. Meanwhile, VHP condemned the communal violence in Kishtwar and asked the Centre to take immediate steps in this regard, otherwise it would have "far reaching repercussions". "The killing of five jawans by the militants along the LoC is a well-planned conspiracy and the terrorists were responsible for the communal clashes in Kishtwar on Friday," VHP spokesperson Prakash Sharma said in a statement here.

The activists of ABVP blocked the railway tracks and raised anti-government slogans demanding sacking of the Minist "The Centre should take urgent measures to protect the minority communities and should or otherwise the incident would have far reaching repercussions," Sharma added. Clashes between two communities left two people dead and at least 20 injured, several business establishments and vehicles gutted in arson in Kishtwar district where curfew was clamped and Army called in to assist the local administration in maintaining law and order on Friday.

Bhubaneswar:The Dawn-to-dusk bandh called by the Odisha unit of BJP has hit normal life in Odisha as  public transport to go off the road,  and  left many commuters on the way to their respective destinations in the lurch today.

Party activists  resorted to road blockade and rail rook at various places during the 12 hour bandh protesting  death of dalit girl who was allegedly raped.

Rail services have also hit as the protesters  blocked rail track at Bhubaneswar station. Long route trains including Puri-Hatia Tapaswini Express, Puri- Yasavantpur express, Sambalpur and Bolangir Intercity were stopped at the platforms.

Expressing irk over the delay in train, a commuter said “We cannot reach our destination on time. The protesters should not halt train services.”

Demanding Naveen Patnaik’s resignation an activists said “People are supporting the bandh and  Naveen Patnaik has no right to continue. He should quit”.

The party members in and around the city blocked the road at different squares including Jayadev Vihar, Master Canteen, Rasulgarh square and Vani Vihar. They stopped all vehicles by picketing. Tyres were also found burnt on the roads at many places to obstruct the vehicles.

The ruling BJD however condemned  BJP’s bandh saying the bandh had caused hardship to the people.

Similarly, Odisha Congress has also declared to launch civil disobedience movement on August 20 and gherao the State Assembly during the session demanding CM’s resignation.

बिलासपुर। कटनी रूट पर हुए रेल हादसे के कारण रेल प्रशासन को एक झटके में 30 करोड़ रुपए से ज्यादा का नुकसान हो गया। रेल प्रशासन नुकसान का आंकलन करने में जुटा है और प्रारंभिक आंकलन में आंकड़ा 30 करोड़ रुपए के पार पहुंच रहा है। सुधार कार्य की लागत को जोडऩे से यह आंकड़ा 50 करोड़ रुपए के पार होगा।

7 अगस्त की शाम कटनी रूट पर सारबहरा स्टेशन के करीब एक मालगाड़ी दुर्घटनाग्रस्त हुई थी। इसके चलते इस रूट पर 44 घंटे तक रेल यातायात ठप रहा, वहीं 2 लाइट इंजन और 28 वैगन पटरी से उतरकर बुरी तरीके से क्षतिग्रस्त हो गए। शुक्रवार को रेल यातायात बहाल होने के बाद रेल प्रशासन यह जानकारी जुटा रहा है कि आखिर हादसे से नुकसान कितने का हुआ? यह काम अभी अधूरा है, लेकिन प्रारंभिक आंकलन के मुताबिक नुकसान का आंकड़ा 30 करोड़ रुपए के पार पहुंच चुका है।

नुकसान को ऐसे समझा जा सकता है कि हादसे में 28 वैगन व 2 लाइट इंजन पटरी से उतरे थे। इसमें से 10 वैगन एक दूसरे से इस तरह टकराए कि इन्हें काटकर अलग करना पड़ा। ये वैगन अब लोहे के टुकड़ों में तब्दील हो गए हैं। इसी तरह दोनों लाइट इंजन पटरी से बीस फीट दूर जाकर जमीन में धंस गए। इंजन पूरी तरह बेकार तो नहीं हुए, लेकिन इन्हें बाहर निकालना मुश्किल है। दो इंजनों की कीमत 7 करोड़ रुपए है। 18 वैगन क्षतिग्रस्त हुए हैं, लेकिन सुधार के बाद इनका उपयोग संभव है। एक वैगन की कीमत 25 लाख रुपए है, इस हिसाब से 10 वैगनों के चकनाचूर होने से 2.50 करोड़ रुपए का नुकसान हो गया। इसी तरह क्षतिग्रस्त 18 वैगनों में 12 लाख रुपए के औसत से 2.16 करोड़ रुपए की हानि का अनुमान है।

रेल प्रशासन को सबसे बड़ा नुकसान रेल यातायात के 44 घंटे ठप रहने से हुआ है। इस दौरान माल और यात्री परिवहन ठप रहने से कम से कम 10 करोड़ रुपए का नुकसान हुआ। इस तरह यह आंकड़ा 30 करोड़ रुपए पहुंच गया है। इसमें सुधार कार्य पर हुए खर्च को शामिल करने पर रेल प्रशासन को एक झटके में 50 करोड़ रुपए से ज्यादा की नुकसान हो गया।

तीसरे दिन भी प्रभावित रहीं ट्रेनें
रेल हादसे के चलते यात्री ट्रेनें लगातार तीसरे दिन भी प्रभावित रहीं। लखनऊ से दुर्ग आने वाली गरीबरथ, अमृतसर से विशाखापट्नम जाने वाली हीराकुंड, भोपाल से दुर्ग आने वाली अमरकंटक, जम्मूतवी से दुर्ग आने वाली जम्मूतवी और हरिद्वार से पुरी जाने वाली उत्कल एक्सप्रेस को बीच के स्टेशनों में कंट्रोल करते हुए लाया गया। इसके चलते ट्रेनें 4 से 7 घंटे तक लेट होकर बिलासपुर पहुंची। इसके अलावा बिलासपुर से कटनी के बीच चलने वाली मेमू लोकल को शहडोल में रद्द किया गया। बिलासपुर से इंदौर जाने वाली नर्मदा एक्सप्रेस को भी रद्द कर दिया गया।

आज अमरकंटक, कल नर्मदा एक्सप्रेस नहीं आएगी
रूट के खुलने में हुई देरी के कारण गुरुवार को ऐन वक्त पर दुर्ग-भोपाल अमरकंटक एक्सप्रेस को रद्द किया गया। इसके चलते भोपाल में रैक की कमी हुई और शुक्रवार को भोपाल से दुर्ग के लिए रवाना होने वाली ट्रेन को रद्द करना पड़ा। इस तरह अमरकंटक एक्सप्रेस शनिवार की सुबह बिलासपुर नहीं आएगी। बिलासपुर से इंदौर जाने वाली नर्मदा एक्सप्रेस शुक्रवार को रद्द रही। इसके चलते इंदौर में शनिवार को रैक की कमी रहेगी। नतीजतन नर्मदा एक्सप्रेस शनिवार को इंदौर से रवाना नहीं होगी। यानी रविवार को कटनी से बिलासपुर के बीच इस ट्रेन की सुविधा नहीं मिलेगी।

BANGALORE: Even as Bangalore Metro rail is gearing up for running its reach-3 route between Sampige road to Peenya, the state government on Saturday transferred its head N Sivasailam. Senior IAS officer Pradeep Singh Kharola has been posted as managing director of Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited.Sivasailam a 1985 batch IAS officer has been heading the BMRCL since 9 June 2008. The motive behind transfer is said to be deteriorating road conditions near metro works. Bangalore in-charge minister R Ramalinga Reddy was reportedly unhappy with Sivasailam over BMRCL's response and coordination with BBMP on road works.The issue was repeatedly raised on the floor of the house recently by the MLA and MLCs representing Bangalore City. Also there were complaints from the elected representatives regarding inaccessibility and transparency against the Metro Man.
However, when it came to project execution Sivasailam was considered task master.Recently, the high court also had warned BMRCL for violating labour norms at metro work site. The observation from the court had come following a PIL which raised concern over the safety at metro work sites. The PIL was filed in the wake of repeated casualties at the project site which also involved injuries to labourers working for the project.

In another key transfer, BWSSB chairman Gaurav Gupta has been replaced by MS Ravishankar. Gupta has been posted as regional commissioner, Bangalore division.

उज्जैन. मध्य प्रदेश के उज्जैन मे आगामी 2016 मे सिहस्थ के दौरान लगभग सौ स्पेशल रेलगाडियां चलाने की तैयारी की जा रही और उसी के अनुरुप आधारभूत संरचनाए जुटाई जा रही है. इसके साथ ही उज्जैन स्टेशन पर हाईटेक सुविधाए भी जुटाई जायेगी.

पश्चिम रेलवे के महाप्रबंधक प्रमोद कुमार ने आज यहां उज्जैन स्टेशन का निरीक्षण के दौरान यह जानकारी दी. उन्होने बताया कि उज्जैन मे आगामी 2016 को होने वाले सिहस्थ महापर्व के पूर्व रेल प्रशासन द्वारा शहर के फ्रीगंज साइड की अोर विचरण क्षेत्र का विस्तार किया जायेगा और बहुउद्देश्य परिसर के लिये रेल भूमि विकास प्राधिकरण द्वारा निविदाए आमंत्रित की गई है.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) today said its trains had carried a record 2.5 million passengers on August 8, the highest ever ridership figure on its network so far since it started services in 2002.   The number of passengers was 25,04,900 on that day, which supassed the previous high of 24,25,897 achieved on July 29 this year, a press release from DMRC said.   Of these, 3,60,512 passengers were carried on Line 1 ((Dilshad Garden to Rithala), 8,87,003 on Line 2 (Jahangirpuri to HUDA City Centre), 9,81,252 on Line 3 & 4 (Dwarka Sec-21 to Noida City Centre/Vaishali), 90,669 on Line 5  (Inderlok/Kirti Nagar to Mundka) and 1,85,464 on Line 6 (Central Secretariat to Badarpur).   In addition, the ridership of Airport Express link went up from 10,500 to 12,500 on the same day, it said.   DMRC also said that, in a major step towards tackling the issue of overcrowding in the trains, it will introduce the first ever eight-coach train on line 3/4 (Dwarka Sector 21 – NOIDA City Centre/ Vaishali) by the end of this month.    Two eight-coach trains are currently being tested for commissioning into service.   As many as 24 eight-coach trains are currently running on Line 2 (Jahangirpuri – HUDA City Centre) after the introduction of the first such train on December 24 last year. ADVERTISEMENT   A total of 68 trains are being converted to eight coaches, the release added.

In a bid to fulfil the light refreshment requirements of passengers boarding and alighting trains at railway stations, 45 stations under the Thiruvananthapuram Railway Division are getting new catering stalls. Of this, 39 stations are in Kerala. Stations coming under the lower income D, E categories and halt stations in the F category are getting the stalls. Ten stations are in the D category and 29 are in the E category. The only F station where the stall is being installed is in Tamil Nadu. All these stalls are coming up for the first time in the respective stations. In some stations stalls are coming up on two platforms.  Of this, permission has been granted to install stalls in 19 stations. Whereas in some stations, none has responded. “For the stations where no applications have been received, we would invite fresh applications,” said a railway official.

When some stations which have lowest income got no takers, the stations which witness large number of passengers too evoked no response. For all these stations, fresh applications will be invited, including the B category stations, the official said.
