ALLAHABAD: Sleuths of Railway Protection Force (RPF) on Wednesday nabbed an alleged tout identified as Tamim Ahmed, a resident of Bairahna near the main hall of Allahabad junction.The RPF sleuths also recovered nine confirmed tickets for Mumbai, five cancellation tickets, three token forms, 10 empty forms, two PAN cards, Rs 21,800 in cash and one mobile set from his possession.Acting upon a tip off, a team of RPF personnel led by inspector (RPF) Anand Kumar reportedly nabbed the tout red-handed when he was making an abortive bid to book tickets on fake names. The RPF after frisking him recovered confirmed and cancelled tickets. The tout, as per RPF officials, had even taken token to book two more tickets and was having two PAN cards with him. A case has been lodged in this regard.

LUCKNOW: Railways will run a special train Lucknow-New Delhi AC Express (1 trip) to clear weekend rush. Train number 14207 will depart from Lucknow at 8.15pm on Sunday (August 18) and reach New Delhi at 5.35am the next day. The train will comprise one AC-1, four AC-2 tier and eight AC-3 tier coaches. It will stop at Hardoi, Shahjahanpur, Bareilly, Moradabad and Ghaziabad stations.

Railways has attached an extra AC-3 tier and two sleeper coaches 12167/12168 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus-Varanasi Superfast Express with immediate effect till August 31/September 1. The train's timing, route and stoppages remain unchanged.Eight sleeper coaches each have been added in trains 19057/19058 Udhna-Varanasi and 12911/12912 Valsad-Haridwar Express with immediate effect on a permanent basis.

The Science Express-Biodiversity Special (SEBS) exhibition train will visit the Kozhikode railway station from August 24 to 27 and Kannur station between 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. from August 28 to 31. It is an innovative exhibition mounted on a specially designed 16-coach A/C train, travelling over 96,000 km across India since October 2007.With over one crore visitors at its 315 halts and 11,470 exhibition days till date, Science Express is the largest, longest, and most visited mobile science exhibition in India, said a press release by Palakkad Railway Division here on Tuesday. The SEBS primarily aims to create awareness of biodiversity, climate change, and similar issues among various sections of the society, especially the students.Items such as mobile phones, cameras, bags, matchboxes, cigarettes, bidis, tobacco, any liquid, and sharp objects are not allowed on board the SEBS train. भागलपुर : रांची से भागलपुर पहुंचने वाली वनांचल एक्सप्रेस के एसी-3 बोगी में शनिवार को बारिश का पानी टपकने से यात्रियों को काफी परेशानियों का सामना करना पड़ा. हालांकि यह पहली बार नहीं, इससे पहले भी कई बार रेलवे को शिकायत मिली है कि एक्सप्रेस ट्रेनों की बोगियों में बरसाती पानी टपकता है. इसके बाद भी रेलवे की ओर से किसी प्रकार की कोई पहल नहीं होती है.

रेलवे के एसी कोच में अब महिलाएं सुरक्षित नहीं हैं। मंगलवार रात पटना- कोटा एक्सप्रेस में शर्मनाक वाकया हुआ। कोच के ट्रेन टिकट परीक्षक (टीटीई) ने एक महिला यात्री से सीट के लिए दो हजार रुपये सुविधा शुल्क वसूला। फिर सफर के दौरान अश्लील हरकत शुरू कर दी। महिला के विरोध करने के बाद यात्रियों ने हंगामा काटा। बुधवार देर शाम महिला ने कैंट थाने में टीटीई के खिलाफ छेड़छाड़ और रिश्वत लेने का मुकदमा दर्ज कराया।
पटना- कोटा एक्सप्रेस मंगलवार रात निर्धारित समय पर लखनऊ से आगरा के लिए रवाना हुई। विनीत खंड, गोमती नगर लखनऊ निवासी राधा सिंह (बदला हुआ नाम) पर एसी वन कोच का वेटिंग का टिकट था, वह आगरा एक रिश्तेदार के यहां आ रही थी। उसने टीटीई मुनीम मीणा से बात की।
महिला के मुताबिक सीट के एवज में टीटीई ने दो हजार रुपये लिए। टीटीई ने ए-1 कोच में सीट नंबर 5 में महिला को बैठने के लिए कहा। महिला यात्री का आरोप है कि मंगलवार रात करीब 11.55 बजे टीटीई उसके पास पहुंचा और अश्लील हरकत करने लगा। हरकत का विरोध करने पर उसे सीट से हटा दिया। शोर- शराबा होने पर अन्य यात्रियों ने भी हंगामा किया। कैंट स्टेशन पर राधा ने दो हजार रुपये वापस मांगे तो मुनीम ने अभद्रता की और उसे भगा दिया।
देर शाम महिला यात्री ने टीटीई मुनीम मीणा के खिलाफ जीआरपी कैंट थाने में अश्लील हरकत और भ्रष्टाचार उन्मूलन अधिनियम में मुकदमा दर्ज कराया। इंस्पेक्टर देवेंद्र मिश्रा के अनुसार केस की जांच शुरू कर दी गई है। चूंकि टीटीई मथुरा में तैनात है, इसलिए जल्द ही वहां टीम भेजी जाएगी।
आरपीएफ एस्कार्ट ने साधी चुप्पी
पटना- कोटा एक्सप्रेस में आरपीएफ एस्कार्ट चलती है, लेकिन महिला के साथ टीटीई के प्रकरण में एस्कार्ट ने भी कोई सूचना नहीं दी। यहां तक यात्रियों के हंगामे को भी नजरअंदाज कर दिया।
उत्तर मध्य रेलवे इलाहाबाद जोन के मुख्य जनसंपर्क अधिकारी संदीप माथुर का कहना है कि महिला यात्री ने छेड़छाड़ की रेलवे अफसरों से कोई शिकायत नहीं की है। पूरी जानकारी के बाद ही टीटीई पर कार्रवाई होगी।

MANGALORE: The gross earnings of Salem Division up to July 2013 is Rs 173 crore which is 13% more than what was earned during the same period last year, said SujathaJayaraj, divisional railway manager, Salem division.She was speaking during the 67th Independence Day celebrations at Salem. Sujatha said despite being the youngest Division of Southern Railway, Salem Division, has grown exponentially since its inception in the year 2007 and has bagged the runner up shield for overall efficiency shiled among the Divisions of Southern Railway.Recalling the historic opening of Salem-Karur newly laid BG line thrown open to passenger traffic since May 25 this year, she listed out a few developments that are taking place, such as nearing completion of new subway in Coimbatore Railway Junction, new Foot Over Bridge and Passenger Lifts in Salem Junction, extension of Salem Station Building and improvement of Circulating area therein, provision of airconditioned waiting room in Salem Junction, etc.

She also said that extension of subway in Salem Junction has been approved and the front elevation of Tirupur junction is nearing completion. Improvement of Parking area, frontage of the station building and concourse area of Erode Junction are also being undertaken and a model information counter has been instituted at Karur Junction.

She further observed that Peelamedu station has been declared as an Adarsh station and all efforts are being taken to make the Nilgiri Mountain Railways' journey safe and enjoyable. On the safety front, Sujatha pointed out that the Safety records of Salem Division continues to be excellent with no accident involving coaching or goods services.

नई दिल्ली : स्वतंत्रता दिवस के मद्देनजर मंगलवार को जगह-जगह बैरिकेड लगाए गए थे। सुरक्षा जांच की वजह से दिल्ली वाले जिस तरह ट्रैफिक जाम में फंसे, इसे अगले दिन वह दोहराना नहीं चाहते थे।
बुधवार को यह परेशानी दोबारा न हो इसलिए अधिकांश लोगों ने मेट्रो का रूख किया, नतीजा रहा कि तकरीबन सभी प्रमुख मेट्रो स्टेशनों पर दिनभर जबरदस्त भीड़ रही। हालांकि, प्रमुख सड़कों पर बुधवार को कहीं भी ट्रैफिक जाम की समस्या नहीं आई। केवल आउटर रिंग रोड पर फ्लाईओवर निर्माण कार्य के चलते मुकरबा चौक से बुराड़ी तक वाहन चालकों को थोड़ी परेशानी हुई, लेकिन देर शाम तक सड़कों पर ट्रैफिक सामान्य रहा।
वहीं अन्य दिनों की तुलना में मेट्रो स्टेशनों पर भीड़ उमड़ने से वहां तैनात केंद्रीय औद्योगिक सुरक्षा बल (सीआइएसएफ) के जवानों को भी सुरक्षा व्यवस्था बनाए रखने में काफी मशक्कत करनी पड़ी।
उधर, सुबह के व्यस्त समय में द्वारका से नोएडा व वैशाली जाने वाली मेट्रो लाइन पर ट्रेनों के रूक-रूककर चलने से करीब घंटे भर तक लोगों को काफी परेशानी हुई। 70 किलोमीटर प्रतिघंटे की सामान्य रफ्तार से चलने वाली मेट्रो सुबह करीब एक घंटे तक 30 से 35 किलोमीटर प्रतिघंटे की रफ्तार से चल रही थी। खचाखच भरी ट्रेन की वजह से यात्री बेबस दिखाई दे रहे थे। डीएमआरसी (दिल्ली मेट्रो रेल निगम) के अधिकारी ने हुई असुविधा के लिए बताया कि द्वारका-नोएडा लाइन पर सुबह अचानक एक मेट्रो ट्रेन में तकनीकी खराबी आ गई थी, इस कारण उसे ट्रैक से हटाकर डिपो ले जाया गया। इसके चलते आगे-पीछे चलने वाली ट्रेनों के समय को एडजस्ट करना पड़ा, जिससे थोड़ी परेशानी रही।
उत्तम नगर से पटेल नगर आने में बमुश्किल 25 मिनट लगता था, लेकिन बुधवार को एक घंटा लग गया। इसकी वजह से ऑफिस जाने में देर हो गई।

द्वारका से नोएडा जाने वाली मेट्रो की सबसे व्यस्त लाइन पर शुक्रवार से सिर्फ छह और आठ कोच वाली मेट्रो ट्रेन चलेगी। डीएमआरसी के अनुसार, दिसंबर तक छह कोच वाली सभी ट्रेनों को आठ कोच में तब्दील कर दिया जाएगा। मालूम हो कि मेट्रो के मौजूदा प्लेटफार्म पर अधिकतम आठ कोच वाली ट्रेन की चल सकती है। पहले तथा दूसरे चरण के तहत दिल्ली व एनसीआर मेट्रो से संबंधित जितने भी निर्माण कार्य हुए हैं, यहां की चहलकदमी को देख अधिकतम आठ कोच वाली मेट्रो ट्रेन ही चल सकती है।
