IMPHAL: The United Naga Council (UNC), which had recently called a 48-hour bandh in Manipur's Naga inhabited areas, has said it will continue its ban on all national projects indefinitely and launch other forms of protests.The construction of Jiribam-Imphal road-cum-rail line and power grid are among the important time-bound central projects taken up in the state.An umbrella body of several Naga groups of the state, the UNC is demanding an alternative arrangement (AA) for the Nagas in Manipur outside the state government, pending final settlement of Naga peace talks. Denouncing the Centre's failure to resume tripartite talks on their demand, the UNC had called the bandh incorporating the ban on central projects in Naga areas ending Tuesday midnight. It also abstained from participating in Independence Day celebrations.Notably, the Kuki State Demand Committee (KSDC) had also called a 48-hour general strike in 'Kuki areas' of the state which ended on Thursday midnight. The KSDC is demanding a separate 'Kuki state' in Manipur.

Sources said activities of railway and power grid projects in the hill districts were stopped during the UNC and KSDC agitations even as deputy CM Gaikhangam said necessary measures would be taken to ensure that the ongoing central projects are not disturbed.

The fifth round of tripartite talks involving the UNC, Centre and the state government was held at Senapati on February 12 this year. "While the ban on all construction work of central projects will continue indefinitely, further protests will be taken up in consonance with the measure of intervention or absence of the same from the Centre," said a UNC statement.

लखीसराय : जिला पुलिस ने स्वतंत्रता दिवस के दिन दो नक्सलियों को गिरफ्तार किया है। दोनों नक्सली किऊल-झाझा रेलखंड में कुंदर हाल्ट के पास धनबाद-पटना इंटरसिटी ट्रेन पर हुए हमले में शामिल था।
एसपी राजीव मिश्रा ने बताया, बीते 13 जून को नक्सलियों ने दिनदहाड़े ट्रेन पर गोली व बमबारी कर एक पुलिस सब इंस्पेक्टर सहित तीन लोगों की हत्या कर दी थी। साथ ही जवानों से एक एके. 47 व दो इंसास राइफल व भारी मात्रा में कारतूस लूट लिया था। इस चर्चित घटना के दो माह बाद पुलिस ने वैज्ञानिक अनुसंधान के जरिए नक्सल प्रभावित क्षेत्र कानीमोहगांव में छापेमारी कर कारेलाल कोड़ा उर्फ प्यारे लाल कोड़ा व राजेश मोदी को गिरफ्तार किया। पूछताछ में दोनों नक्सलियो ने कई घटनाओं में अपनी संलिप्तता स्वीकार करते हुए पुलिस के समक्ष कई महत्वपूर्ण जानकारी दी है। इस अभियान में एएसपी अभियान राजेश कुमार, एसडीपीओ सुबोध कुमार विश्वास, लखीसराय थानाध्यक्ष राजकुमार तिवारी, कजरा थानाध्यक्ष पवन कुमार झा, पीरी बाजार थानाध्यक्ष अभिनव कुमार दुबे व सीआरपीएफ जवान शामिल थे।
एसपी ने बताया, गिरफ्तार नक्सलियों ने तीन अगस्त 2013 को शिवडीह में सड़क निर्माण में लगे एक ठेकेदार सुबोध कुमार के मुंशीव वाहन चालक को अगवा कर उन्हें राजघाट कोल ले जाकर बोलेरो जलाने की घटना में भी शामिल था। एसपी ने कहा, माओवादी संगठन अपने सिद्धांतों को छोड़कर एक संगठित आपराधिक गिरोह चला कर लेवी वसूली कर रहा है। साथ ही ग्रामीणों व युवक-युवतियों को डरा धमका कर अपने संगठन से जोड़ने के लिए गुमराह कर रहा है। एसपी ने कहा, वन क्षेत्र में रहने वाले आदिवासियों की सुरक्षा के साथ-साथ सरकार आपके द्वार कार्यक्रम के माध्यम से विकास का लाभ पहुंचाने के लिए प्रयास कर रही है।

झींझक,अंप्र : दिल्ली-हावड़ा रेल मार्ग पर झींझक स्टेशन की पूर्वी केबिन के पास सिग्नल प्वाइंट खराब होने से डाउन ट्रैक पर रेल यातायात 15 मिनट प्रभावित रहा। झींझक स्टेशन के पूर्वी केबिन के पास आटोमेटिक सिग्नल प्वाइंट संख्या 202 में गुरुवार पूर्वाह्न 11.30 बजे तकनीकी खराबी आ गई। इससे डाउन ट्रैक की सिग्नल प्रणाली ध्वस्त हो गई। सिग्नल इंस्पेक्टर अनिल कुमार हनुमत टीम लेकर मौके पर पहुंचे और 15 मिनट में सिग्नल ठीक कर दिया। इस दौरान डाउन मुरी एक्सप्रेस व डाउन डुप्लीकेट कालका को खराब सिग्नल प्वाइंट के पास रोककर आगे रवाना किया गया। स्टेशन मास्टर अमर सिंह पाल ने बताया 15 मिनट तक डाउन ट्रैक पर रेल यातायात प्रभावित रहा।

इलाहाबाद। इलाहाबाद जंक्शन के रिजर्वेशन काउंटर पर दलालों और कर्मचारियों की मिलीभगत पर लगाम कसने के लिए ई-नज़र रखी जा रही है। काउंटर पर वेब-आधारित सीसीटीवी की सुविधा उपलब्ध कराई गई है। इससे डिवीजन में बैठे अफसर कार्यालय से ही रिजर्वेशन काउंटर पर निगाह रख सकते हैं। सूबेदारगंज मुख्यालय में झंडारोहण के बाद उत्तर मध्य रेलवे के महाप्रबंधक आलोक जौहरी ने घोषणा की कि इलाहाबाद की तरह आगरा कैंट, ग्वालियर और कानपुर स्टेशनों पर भी जल्द ही एस्केलेटर की सुविधा उपलब्ध करा दी जाएगी। साथ ही इटावा-मैनपुरी रेल लाइन पर अगले वर्ष में ट्रेनें चालू कर दी जाएंगी। भिंड-इटावा और आगरा-फतेहाबाद-इटावा की नई लाइन के कार्य पूरे कर लिए जाने की संभावना है। बताया कि धौलपुर-सिरमथुरा रेल लाइन के आमान परिवर्तन और गंगापुर सिटी तक इसके विस्तार का कार्य प्रारंभ हो चुका है। महाप्रबंधक ने जोन की उपलब्धियों को गिनाने के साथ 17 रेल कर्मचारियों को उत्कृष्ट कार्य के लिए पुरस्कृत भी किया। समारोह में महाप्रबंधक आरपीएफ, भारत स्काउट एवं गाइड तथा सेंट जॉन एंबूलेंस ब्रिगेड की परेड की सलामी ली। सांस्कृतिक समारोह में टेंडर फीट स्कूल के बच्चों ने देश रंगीला-रंगीला गीत पर सामूहिक नृत्य किया। सांस्कृतिक टीम ने वंदेमातरम, रंग दे बसंती चोला, मन करता है इस धरती पर हम लें सतबार जनम गीत प्रस्तुत किया। आरपीएफ का डॉग शो भी सराहा गया।

Kochi: Tripunithura had the biggest role in the history of construction of the first railway line in Kerala when the king of the royal kingdom of Kochi sold 14 golden caparisons of elephants of Poornathrayeesha temple at Tripunithura to finance the track between Ernakulam and Shoranur.

But unfortunately, this satellite town of Kochi city is still waiting for the union government to allot stops for several main trains at Tripunithura railway station. The residents of the area have made several requests to officials, with the latest move being a mass memorandum to union minister K.V. Thomas.

The office-bearers of Tripunithura Rajanagari Union of Residents’ Association (TRURA) cite that no train towards Thiruvananthapuram stops at Tripunithura station between 6.45 am and 5 pm and that not a single train that travels to Kozhikode stops here. For the residents of Tripunithura, boarding express trains from the local station is still an unfulfilled dream.

Despite their being many railway ministers from the state in the past years, the demand of the locals here, for sanctioning stops for all the major trains at Tripunithura railway station has been falling on deaf ears.

Even though, the station has two platforms to accommodate 24 coaches each and a double line till Mulanthuruthy, the potential of the Railway station is still under-utilized. The profit from ticket sales at this station is over Rs 50 lakh every month, according to railway officials, which is more than any other station between Ernakulam and Kottayam.

Tripunithura is the entry point for travelers from Idukki district, which is not connected to a rail network. It is also the nearest station for people going to Muvattupuzha,  Kolencherry,  Puthencruz,  Thiruvankulam, Maradu, Kundannur and Chottanikara. Moreover, the Vyttila Mobility Hub and prominent industries like FACT Ltd, BPCL-Kochi Refineries Ltd, Hindustan Organics and Chemicals Ltd, Carbon Black Industries Ltd etc are in close proximity to the Tripunithura     Station.

Tiruchirapalli: The Goldenrock Workshops (GOC) of the Southern Railway has fetched order for constructing 1,000 BLC wagons from CONCOR, said the Chief Workshop Manager (CWM), P.Mahesh.

The Wagon Wing of the GOC had manufactured and despatched 560 BLC-type wagons against an order of 600 and has also completed manufacturing 300 numbers of BOXN HL wagon. The next orders for 320 wagons have just been received, Mr.Mahesh said speaking at the Independence Day celebrations here on Thursday. He said that for the first time in the country, the GOC is privileged to build 50 numbers of BTFLN (bogie tank wagon without frame) and the prototype trials are on in 4 wagons. Mr.Mahesh said that against the target of 99 diesel locomotives, the workshop has completed 136 locomotives POH, which includes supply to RITES and select PSUs. During current fiscal, against the target of 111 locos the workshop has so far completed 35 locos. So far, we have converted 15 MG surplus locos as BG shunting locos for various divisional demands.

Four MG locos were refurbished and exported to Myanmar last year. Similarly two MG engine blocks were reconditioned and exported to Mozambique. Cylinder Liner Plating Shop crossed 11,500 liners, engine block shop reconditioned 135 blocks, HERS shop attended 322 units and CMS shop completed coil rewinding in 280 set of coils last year to cross the individual set targets. Referring to the functioning of the Carriage Wing, Mr.Mahesh said that this branch has crossed various milestones this year.

With respect to AC coach POH, it has completed 97 coaches so far against the last year completion of 67 coaches during the same period. To meet the demand of tourists in world heritage site at Udhagamandalam, nine NMR coaches were given POH and dispatched.

The Production Wing built three oil-fired steam locomotives to help Nilgiri Mountain Railway to serve tourists without interruption. During the last fiscal, the Wheel Shop has turned out 8,157 wheels to meet shop and divisional needs.

Referring to the other areas, Mr.Mahesh said that the Electrical Branch has introduced various energy conservation methods to ensure optimum uninterrupted power supply. By introducing regenerative battery chargers, considerable recycling of power has been effected in the battery section. The workshop has also introduced various industrial safety measures, and the safety standards have been enhanced.

Mr.Mahesh hoisted the national flag and gave away rewards to outstanding employees.

MUMBAI : Passengers could be inconvenienced as Central Railway will operate a megablock on its suburban sections for carrying out maintenance work on Sunday.

The first block will be carried out on the Down fast line between Thane and Kalyan stations from 10 am to 3.30 pm on Sunday. The Dn fast line services leaving Mumbai CST from 9.04 am to 2.51 pm will be diverted on Dn slow line between Thane and Kalyan stations halting at all stations between Thane and Kalyan stations. All these Dn fast locals will halt at Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Bhandup & Mulund stations in addition to their respective scheduled halts and will arrive destination 20 minutes behind schedule.

All Up fast line services leaving Thane from 10.50 am to 3.43 pm will halt at Mulund, Bhandup, Vikhroli, Ghatkopar and Kurla stations in addition to their scheduled halts and arrive their destination15 minutes behind schedule.

All Dn slow suburban services leaving CST between 10 am and 4 pm and the Up slow suburban services arriving CST between 11 am and 5 pm will arrive their destination ten minutes behind schedule, officials stated.

Another megablock will be carried out on the Up and Down lines between Kalyan and Ambernath stations from 2 pm to 3.30 pm

The Dn line services leaving Kalyan from 1.32 pm to 3.17 pm and Up line services leaving Badlapur from 1.49 pm to 3.22 pm will remain suspended. However, shuttle services will run between Badlapur and Karjat during the block period, officials added.

MANGALORE: Indian Railways will introduce special train in Yesvantpur - Mangalore section (via Palakkad) in order to clear extra rush of passengers. A weekly special train 06565/06566 will run between Yesvantpur and Mangalore Central. The service of this weekly special train leaving Yesvantpur on Sunday, will be available from August 18 to September 1. Similarly, service of train leaving Mangalore Central on Monday will be available from August 19 to September 2.

Train 06566 will leave Mangalore Central at 8pm and arrive at Yesvantpur at 1.30pm. Likewise, train 06565 will leave Yesvantpur at 11.55pm and arrive at Mangalore Central at 5.40pm. The above trains that will touch Banaswadi, Krishnarajapuram, Bangarpet, Kuppam, Salem, Erode Junction, Tiruppur, Coimbatore, Palakkad and Shoranur junctions, Tirur, Kozhikode, Vadakara, Thalassery, Kannur and Kasargod will have one two tier AC-coach, one 3 tier AC-coach, seven sleeper coaches and six unreserved general coaches.
