Southern railway will impose a rail traffic block on May 23, 24 and 25 to facilitate engineering works in Chennai - Thiruvallur section. This will affect few sub-urban train services as detailed below -

• Train number 43891 Avadi – Pattabiram Military Siding EMU local will remain cancelled.
  
  
• Train number 43102 Pattabiram Military Siding – MMC EMU local will be partially cancelled between Pattabiram Military Siding – Avadi. This EMU local will depart from Avadi for MMC at 03:40 AM.

वाराणसी से जम्मू जा रही बेगमपुरा एक्सप्रेस सोमवार को जेसीबी से टकरा गयी | इससे ट्रेन का इंजन क्षतिग्रस्त हो गया | मालगाड़ी का इंजन लगा ट्रेन को रवाना किया गया | ये घटना दोपहर लगभग तीन बजे की है | दुर्घटना के बाद करीब ढाई घंटे ट्रेन ट्रैक पर खड़ी रही जिस कारण संचालन प्रभावित रहा | हादसे के बाद जेसीबी चालक मौके से फरार हो चुका है | ध्यान देने वाली बात ये है की चल रहे निर्माण कार्य के दौरान न तो इंस्पेक्टर पवन कुमार मौजूद थे और न ही ठेकेदार |

07116 Kochuveli - Hyderabad Special Train augmented with two Sleeper class Coach from 28 May to 2 July. 


07117 Hyderabad - Ernakulam Special Train  augmented with two Sleeper class Coach from 23  May to 27 June. 


07118 Ernakulam - Hyderabad Special Train augmented with two Sleeper class Coach from 24 May to 28 June.

East Coast Railway (ECoR) observed “Anti Terrorism Day” at its headquarters, Rail Sadan, Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar and all Divisional headquarters at Khurda Road, Sambalpur and Visakhapatnam by taking pledge today for non-violence & tolerance.

Shri Umesh Singh, General Manager, East Coast Railway administered the oath o­n the occasion of Anti-terrorism Day to all Railway officials to oppose terrorism, violence and to promote peace and social harmony to fight against the forces disrupting and threatening human lives and values.

Shri Prabhat, Chief Personnel Officer/Admn of ECoR conducted the oath taking ceremony.​​

To facilitate engineering works between Chennai Beach and Korukkupet, Southern Railway will impose rail traffic block from May 23 to June 22. This will affect pattern of sub-urban train services as per details -

Train number 43801 Chennai Beach – Arakkonam EMU local, departing Chennai Beach at 01.20 AM, will depart from MMC at 01.20 AM thereby partially cancelling the EMU local between Chennai Beach – Washermenpet.

Train number 42608 Gummidipundi – Chennai Beach EMU local, scheduled to depart Gummidipundi at 09.40 PM and reach Chennai Beach railway station, will instead reach MMC railway station.Therefore, the service between Washermenpet – Chennai Beach will remain partially cancelled.

बादशाहनगर - गोरखपुर इंटरसिटी में रविवार को सेकंड सीटिंग का कोच संख्या डी छह न लगने पर यात्रियों ने हंगामा किया | नाराज यात्रियों ने डीआरएम से ट्विटर पर शिकायत दर्ज कराई | यात्रियों ने अनुसार ट्रेन संख्या 15069 बादशानगर इंटरसिटी डी छह में उन्हें रिजर्वेशन मिला था और उनकी सीट संख्या 97 , 98 , 99  और 102  थी | प्लेटफार्म पहुँचने पर पता चला कि ट्रेन में बोगी लगी ही नहीं है | रिजर्वेशन में मिली हुयी सीट संख्या भी किसी डिब्बे में नहीं थी क्यूंकि बोगी में 90 ही सीटें थीं | जिन यात्रियों की सीट नहीं थी उन सभी यात्रियों ने इसकी शिकायत डीआरएम को दर्ज करा दी |

वाराणसी कैंट स्टेशन पर रविवार को मुंबई जाने वाली ट्रेनों में हंगामे की स्थिति बनी रही | यात्रा का टिकट कन्फर्म नहीं होने के कारण लोगों साधारण टिकट पर सफर करना उचित समझा जिस कारण डिब्बों में भीड़ अत्यधिक बनी रही || सबसे अधिक भीड़ महानगरी एक्सप्रेस में थी | साधारण बोगी में जगह पाने के लिए लोगों में धक्का मुक्की हुयी | हंगामा देख जीआरपी ने मोर्चा संभाला और लाइन लगाकर यात्रियों को बोगी में भेजा | यही हालत मुंबई जाने वाली हर ट्रेन में बनी रही |

Watch how coaches of train number 22416 Andhra Pradesh Express from new Delhi to Vishakhapatnam are burning. The horrific incident occured near Gwalior. Luckily there is no causality, as passenegrs were evacuated before these horrific scenes. 

To celebrate 150th anniversary of Gandhi Jayanti as a 'Vegetarian Day' a blueprint has been prepared by Indian Railways. According to the proposal, no non-vegetarian food will be served to passengers any-where on railway premises across the country on October 2. The proposal also says that, this practice will be followed for 3 consecutive years.

In the circular railway board specifically mentions that, "October 2, 2018, 2019, 2020 can be celebrated as a totally vegetarian day when no non-vegetarian food will be served anywhere on Indian Railways' premises. All the railway staff will be requested to observe October 2 as Vegetarian Day."

Note that October 2 is also celebrated as Rashtriya Swachhta Diwas.
