Railways is yet to launch services of 10 new trains proposed in the Rail Budget 2012-13, Lok Sabha was informed today.

Railways had announced 113 new trains in the last Railway Budget out of which 103 have been introduced and 10 new trains are pending due to various constraints like non-completion of gauge conversion, new line works, non-receipt of necessary clearance from the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS).

These trains will be introduced as soon as the constraints are overcome and earnest efforts are being made for early introduction of pending new trains, Railway Minister Mallikarjun Kharge said in a written reply to the House.

Habibganj-Indore AC double decker express and Yerraguntla-Nanganapalli passenger trains are awaiting clearance from CRS.

Besides, Kanpur-Amritsar Express, Howrah-Raxual Express, Chappra-Lucknow Express and Rangiya-Tezpur Passenger among 10 proposed trains are yet to be made operational due to the non-completion of gauge conversion works.

NASHIK: The Ghoti police in Nashik rural have registered a case against unidentified persons for attempting to sabotage the Amritsar-LokmanyaTilak Terminus (Kurla) Pathankot Express, near Ghoti, around 30 km from here."A concrete sleeper weighing 285 kg was put on the railway track (towards Mumbai) which obstructed the train, besides endangering the lives of the passengers. The railway officials have lodged a case of attempt to sabotage against unidentified persons with the Ghoti police under sections of the Indian Railways Act 1989 and 2003," officials of the Ghoti police station said.Pathankot Express (11058 UP), heading towards Mumbai, had passed Padali (nearly 22 km from Nashik) when the driver of the train noticed some object on the tracks. He slowed down the train but still the train hit the object. The sleeper hit the train engine and was dragged to a distance of around 20 metres. The driver halted the train at Ghoti station and informed the officials about the issue.

"We alerted the driver of the Kushinagar Express that was following Pathankot Express. The train's driver reported that the broken sleeper had fallen near the track at 152/18 km, after which, the railway engineers and the police rushed to the spot for inspection," the railway officials said.Since the site of the crime was outside the railway station, it falls under the jurisdiction of the state police which have the powers to enforce various sections of the Indian Railways Act, including 150 and 152 -attempt to sabotage and endangering the lives of passengers, respectively. "The case has been filed and the state police are looking into the matter," inspector B D Ipper of the railway police force said.

Officials pointed out that it is very difficult, even for a team of five people, to lift the 285-kg sleeper, adding that a major mishap was averted as the speed of the train was considerably reduced, and also because the sleeper broke and fell away from the track and not inside, which could have damaged the engine.

PUNE: Railway commuters’ groups in the city are rattled by the lack of security on the premises of the Pune railway station after the Central Railway (Pune Division) authorities found at least 20 empty purses and clothes kept in the false ceiling space on the Platform Number 1.

According to them, more dangerous material can be stored here without drawing much attention. They sought better security measures to prevent illegal entry on the premises.

Some panels of the false ceiling were dangling on Tuesday evening and the authorities were looking for reasons. They found that the metal grid supporting the panels had been stolen. This led to the dislocation of the panels, railway authorities said.

“We cannot see any other technical fault in the false ceiling. The panels must have got dislodged after the rods and screws were removed by thieves and sold,” a railway administration official said.

Harsha Shah of Railway Pravasi Group said the railway administration must step up security on the platforms and especially at the exit and entry gates to curb instances of theft. “Unauthorized points used to gain enter on the station’s premises must be closed. More than 150 trains are operated every day from the station and passengers should feel safe. There should be timely checks of passenger amenities,” she added.

The dislodged panels were located near the foot overbridge. Thieves would have crawled into the space from the gap near the escalator that opens to the foot overbridge and dumped the empty purses and clothes, the official said.

The false ceiling was fixed for beautification of the railway station. It has been removed now as a precautionary measure. Other places on the premises with false ceilings are being checked. The station has many unwanted elements involved in thefts and illegal activities, railway authorities said. They use the facilities on the platforms and in the circulating areas and come back even though the administration frequently drives them away.

Abhay Parmar of the Government Railway Police (GRP) said they have been asked to act against people creating a nuisance on the premises. Special attention is being given to spots that allow illegal entry to the station.

Dinu Joshi, a regular traveller, said, “Getting into the station’s premises is easy. Presence of thieves and ticketless travelers can be restricted if the administration and police maintain continuous vigil on the premises. Many beggars are in the circulating area of the station.”

Ramesh Rahane, who travels by the Lonavla-bound local train, said all platforms need security. Police presence is sparse and should be increased during rush hours, he added.

भोपाल. रेल रिजर्वेशन करवाते वक्त यदि अब आप फॉर्म में गलत पता भरते हैं तो टिकट कैंसिल हो जाएगा। इसके लिए रेलवे बोर्ड ने कमर्शियल विभाग को निर्देश जारी कर दिए हैं। सभी जोन को भेजे गए निर्देश में कहा गया है कि यदि यात्री इस कैंसिल टिकट पर यात्रा करते मिलता है तो उससे जुर्माना भी वसूला जाए।

रेलवे के मुख्य जनसंपर्क अधिकारी पीयूष माथुर का कहना है कि इस व्यवस्था के लिए कुछ कर्मचारियों की अलग से रिजर्वेशन ऑफिस में ड्यूटी लगाई जाएगी। वे रिजर्वेशन फॉर्म पर लिखे गए फोन या मोबाइल फोन नंबरों पर अचानक बात कर पता वेरिफाई करेंगे। यदि संबंधित यात्री या उनके परिजन आदि फोन रिसीव न करें या फिर रिजर्वेशन संबंधी जानकारी नहीं दे पाते हैं तो टिकट कैंसिल कर दिया जाएगा। रेलवे ने यह व्यवस्था फॉर्म पर गलत पता व फोन नंबर भरने के कारण दुर्घटना जैसी स्थिति में परेशानी से बचने के लिए की है।

कई यात्री रिजर्वेशन करवाते वक्त गलत पता व फोन नंबर फॉर्म में भर देते हैं। इससे दुर्घटना या विपरीत परिस्थितियों में यात्रियों का पता लगाने में रेलवे को मुश्किल का सामना करना पड़ता है।

दोगुना देना होगा किराया

रेलवे के मुताबिक यदि पता गलत मिला तो यात्री का रिजर्व टिकट कैंसिल माना जाएगा। इसके बाद  भी यदि वह कंफर्म रिजर्वेशन टिकट पर यात्रा करता है तो उससे गंतव्य स्टेशन तक का किराया मय जुर्माने के वसूला जाएगा।

These are Kolkata-AnandVihar terminal ( Delhi) special, Sealdah-New Delhi specialNCR spokesperson Manzar Karrar said that there is huge rush during Durga Puja festivals. The specials are being run so that passengers can get confirmed reservation.Train number 03125/03126 would run between Kolkata and Delhi (Anand Vihar Terminal). It would depart from Kolkata at 1:45 pm and go through Burdwan, Durgapur, Asansol, Dhanbad,Gomo, Kodarma, Gaya, Dehri-on-Son, Sasaram, Bhabua Road and reach Mughalsarai at 2:00 am, Allahabad at 4:35 am, Kanpur at 7:15 am and terminate at Anand Vihar Terminal at 1:50 pm. During the return journey, the train would depart from Anand Vihar Terminal at 7:50 pm and reach Kanpur at 1:45 am, Allahabad at 4:25 am, Mughalsarai at 6:45 am and terminate at Kolkata at 6:10 pm.

The train would depart from Kolkata every Saturday from October 5 to November 9 and from Anand Vihar Terminal every Sunday from October 6 to November 10. It would comprise one AC-II tier, two AC-III tier, ten sleeper and three general coaches.

Train number 03113/03114 would run between Sealdah and New Delhi. It would depart from Sealdah at 11:55 pm and pass through Burdwan, Durgapur, Asansol, Dhanbad, Gaya and arrive at Mughalsarai at 10:10 am, Allahabad at 12:15 pm, Kanpur at 3:25 pm and terminate at New Delhi at 11:30 pm. During the return journey, the train would depart from New Delhi at 11:45 pm and arrive at Kanpur at 6:40 am, Allahabad at 9:10 am, Mughalsarai at 11:50 am and terminate at Sealdah at 10:45 pm. This train would depart from Sealdah every Friday from October 4 to November 11 and from New Delhi every Saturday from October 5 to November 30. It would have one AC first class, three coaches of AC-II tier, nine coaches of AC-III tier and two coaches of pantry cars.

VISAKHAPATNAM: Here's some good news for devotees of Lord Venkateswara Swami in Tirupati.

The East Coast Railway (ECoR) has decided to introduce a new pair of weekly superfast express trains between Bhubaneswar and Tirupati via Visakhapatnam as announced in the railway budget.With effect from September 15, train number 22879 Bhubaneswar-Tirupati will leave Bhubaneswar on every Saturday at noon and arrive at Visakhapatnam railway station (VRS) the same day at 7pm, departing at 7.20pm to reach Tirupati at 9.25am the next day.tnnIn the return direction, train number 22880 Tirupati-Bhubaneswar will leave Tirupati every Sunday with effect from September 19 at 12.45pm, arriving at Vizag the next day at 2 am and departing at 2.20am to reach Bhubaneswar at 10.10am the same day. The pair of trains will ply enroute Khurda Road, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Gudur and Tirupati in both directions.The trains will have one AC 2 tier coach, three AC 3 tier bogies, 11 sleeper class bogies besides two second class sitting-cum-luggage compartments and a pantry car.

Consequent to the introduction of the new pair of trains, the schedule of the existing Bhubaneswar-Tirupati-Bhubaneswar weekly superfast express trains (22871/22872) has hitherto been changed to Sundays from Bhubaneswar with effect from September 8 and on Mondays from Tirupati with effect from September 9, according to a press release issued here by the Waltair division of ECoR on Thursday.

जंक्शन को विश्वस्तरीय रेलवे स्टेशन बनाने को चल रहे कार्य देखने को गुरुवार को मंडल रेलवे कार्यालय के डीआरएम मथुरा में रहे। उन्होंने सेकेंड एंट्री के कार्यो का निरीक्षण किया। निरीक्षण के बाद डीआरएम विजय सहगल ने बताया कि मथुरा जंक्शन को विश्वस्तरीय बनाने की दिशा में सेकेंड एंट्री के बड़े कार्य पूरे हो चुके हैं। अब पार्किंग और पार्क आदि डेवलप करने हैं। सेकेंड और प्रस्तावित थर्ड एंट्री की ओर ग्रीनरी करने के लिए यहां पर बड़े पार्क विकसित कराये जायेंगे। सेकेंड एंट्री की ओर असहाय लोगों के लिए लिफ्ट भी लगाई जाएगी। इस दौरान डीआरएम ने बताया कि धौलीप्याऊ की ओर टिकट विंडो जल्द ही खुलवा दी जायेगी। डीआरएम विजय सहगल ने गुरुवार को प्लेटफार्म संख्या सात और एक के बीच कनेक्टिविटी को बनाए गए द्वार और रिटायरिंग रूम के एक्सटेंशन का उद्घाटन किया। शौचालय का फीता काटा। इस दौरान उनके साथ वरिष्ठ मंडल अभियंता समन्वय आशुतोष, वरिष्ठ मंडल अभियंता प्रथम देवेन्द्र कुमार, आरपीएफ के असिस्टेंट कमांडेंट आरपी तोमर और वरिष्ठ खंड अभियंता जेएल शर्मा उपस्थित रहे।

Set up in 1979 near the railway station, trained thousands of loco pilots in it

The shifting of the South Central Railway (SCR) Electric Traction Training Centre (ETTC) began on Wednesday. The ETTC, the only Electric Training Centre in Southern Region, was shifted into the Divisional Integrated Training Centre (DITC), located on BRTS Road. The centre was shifted in accordance to a decision taken by the Railways in accordance to the directions of the High Court to vacate the 7.3 acre in which it is currently located.The training centre, set up in 1979 near the railway station, trained thousands of loco pilots and technicians across the country. Recently, the owner of the land approached the court alleging that SCR was not paying the price and that it should be returned.Responding to the plea, the High Court appointed an arbitrator for settlement of the issue. On June 13{+t}{+h}2013, the court directed the railway authorities to vacate the land within six months or pay Rs. 70 crore as per the market value.

Speaking to The Hindu on Wednesday, Vijayawada Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Pradeep Kumar said the SCR management would implement the High Court orders in the given time, and the ETTC would be shifted to the newly constructed DITC “within a week”.

The ETTC was set up as per the guidelines of the Railway Board, with simulator (computed-based control of a locomotive), models of various components in the engine, latest loco models, online trouble shooting, library, computer lab, lecture halls, hostel, mess and sufficient staff, he said. “We imparted training to the loco pilots of Secunderabad, Guntakal, Nanded and Guntur divisions under SCR, East Coast, Southern Railways and South East Railways. Though the capacity of the centre is only 300 candidates we recently gave training to 1,400 candidates recruited in a special drive. This is the largest batch of loco pilots given training at any give time from any of the training centres of the Indian Railways,” said instructor B. Vivekananda. Mr. Pradeep Kumar said that 125 candidates, recruited through Railway Recruitment Board, came from East Coast Railway for loco pilot training on August 28. The ETTC staff would begin classes for them from Thursday. Besides this, refresher courses were given for section engineers and technicians of various divisions, said the DRM.

The Railway Ministry has approved a tri-weekly express train between Bidar and Yeshwantpur. The train will leave Bidar at 6.25 p.m. and reach Bangalore at 7.40 a.m. the next day. It will leave Bangalore at 7.15 p.m. and reach Bidar at 9.30 a.m. The train will stop at Zaheerabad, Vikharabad, Sedam, Malkhed Road, Chittapur, Yadgir, Raichur, Nalwar, Narayanpet Road, Mantralayam Road, Guntakal Junction, Dharmavaram Junction, Hindupur, Gouribidanur and Yalahanka. Officials of the South Central and South Western Railway Zone jointly prepared the timetable, said a release.
