ALLAHABAD: As announced in the Railway Budget, the railway administration has decided to start a new superfast train between Bhubaneshwar and New Delhi from September 7 onwards. This train will also pass through Allahabad.The train will depart from Bhubaneshwar at about 12:45 pm and go through Dhenkanal, Talcher Road, Angul, Rairkhol, Sambalpur City, Jharsugura, Rourkela, Chakradhar Pur, Muri, Bokaro, Gomo, Kodarma, Gaya to reach Mughalsarai at 8:52 am, Allahabad at 11:17 am, Kanpur Central at 1:45 pm and finally terminate at New Delhi at 8:50 pm. During the return journey, the train will depart from New Delhi at 7:00 am and arrive at Kanpur at 1:15 pm, Allahabad at 4:17 pm, Mughalsarai at 7:00 pm and after passing through the above route terminate at Bhubaneshwar next day at 4:30 pm.This train will depart from Bhubaneshwar every Saturday from September 7 onwards and from New Delhi every Monday from September 9 onwards. This train will comprise of one AC First Class coach, one AC II tier coach, four AC III tier coaches and eight sleeper coaches.

VISAKHAPATNAM: Here's some good news for devotees of Lord Venkateswara Swami in Tirupati.

The East Coast Railway (ECoR) has decided to introduce a new pair of weekly superfast express trains between Bhubaneswar and Tirupati via Visakhapatnam as announced in the railway budget.With effect from September 15, train number 22879 Bhubaneswar-Tirupati will leave Bhubaneswar on every Saturday at noon and arrive at Visakhapatnam railway station (VRS) the same day at 7pm, departing at 7.20pm to reach Tirupati at 9.25am the next day.tnnIn the return direction, train number 22880 Tirupati-Bhubaneswar will leave Tirupati every Sunday with effect from September 19 at 12.45pm, arriving at Vizag the next day at 2 am and departing at 2.20am to reach Bhubaneswar at 10.10am the same day. The pair of trains will ply enroute Khurda Road, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Gudur and Tirupati in both directions.The trains will have one AC 2 tier coach, three AC 3 tier bogies, 11 sleeper class bogies besides two second class sitting-cum-luggage compartments and a pantry car.

Consequent to the introduction of the new pair of trains, the schedule of the existing Bhubaneswar-Tirupati-Bhubaneswar weekly superfast express trains (22871/22872) has hitherto been changed to Sundays from Bhubaneswar with effect from September 8 and on Mondays from Tirupati with effect from September 9, according to a press release issued here by the Waltair division of ECoR on Thursday.

मथुरा: हरियाली और पार्क के बीच जंक्शन रेलवे स्टेशन आगे नजर आने वाला है। जंक्शन रेलवे स्टेशन पर बनने वाले दोनों एंट्री पर अब पार्क बनाए जाएंगे। सेकेंड एंट्री के साथ ही थर्ड एंट्री पर बड़े पार्क हरियाली करेंगे। रेलवे अपनी सेकेंड एंट्री को अक्टूबर माह तक शुरू कर देगा।
जंक्शन को विश्वस्तरीय रेलवे स्टेशन बनाने को चल रहे कार्य देखने को गुरुवार को मंडल रेलवे कार्यालय के डीआरएम मथुरा में रहे। उन्होंने सेकेंड एंट्री के कार्यो का निरीक्षण किया। निरीक्षण के बाद डीआरएम विजय सहगल ने बताया कि मथुरा जंक्शन को विश्वस्तरीय बनाने की दिशा में सेकेंड एंट्री के बड़े कार्य पूरे हो चुके हैं। अब पार्किंग और पार्क आदि डेवलप करने हैं। सेकेंड और प्रस्तावित थर्ड एंट्री की ओर ग्रीनरी करने के लिए यहां पर बड़े पार्क विकसित कराये जायेंगे। सेकेंड एंट्री की ओर असहाय लोगों के लिए लिफ्ट भी लगाई जाएगी। इस दौरान डीआरएम ने बताया कि धौलीप्याऊ की ओर टिकट विंडो जल्द ही खुलवा दी जायेगी। डीआरएम विजय सहगल ने गुरुवार को प्लेटफार्म संख्या सात और एक के बीच कनेक्टिविटी को बनाए गए द्वार और रिटायरिंग रूम के एक्सटेंशन का उद्घाटन किया। शौचालय का फीता काटा। इस दौरान उनके साथ वरिष्ठ मंडल अभियंता समन्वय आशुतोष, वरिष्ठ मंडल अभियंता प्रथम देवेन्द्र कुमार, आरपीएफ के असिस्टेंट कमांडेंट आरपी तोमर और वरिष्ठ खंड अभियंता जेएल शर्मा उपस्थित रहे।

जोगबनी स्टेशन को मॉडल स्टेशन बनाने का कार्य अतिशीघ्र पूरा किया जा रहा है। इसके लिए मास्टर प्लान तैयार कर जीएम मालेगांव को भेजा जाएगा तथा वहां से स्वीकृति आते ही कार्य प्रारंभ हो जाएगा। 2014 तक जोगबनी माडल स्टेशन बनकर तैयार हो जाएगा।
उपरोक्त बातें मंडल रेल प्रबंधक कटिहार अरूण कुमार शर्मा ने जोगबनी स्टेशन के निरीक्षण के दौरान पत्रकारों से कही। रेल मार्ग से जोगबनी पहुंचे डीआरएम श्री शर्मा ने प्लेटफार्म संख्या दो से पश्चिम नया प्लेटफार्म बनाने एवं रेल लाइन बिछाने को आवश्यक दिशा-निर्देश देते हुए कहा कि प्लेटफार्म के बढ़ने से इस रूट में नई रेल गाड़ियों के आने की संभावना बढ़ गयी है। उन्होंने कहा कि आने वाले समय में जोगबनी स्टेशन एक मॉडल स्टेशन होगा। इसके बाद डीआरएम ने रनिंग रूम आरक्षण केंद्र तथा मालयार्ड का निरीक्षण किया तथा रेलवे से मालवाहक ट्रक के निकासी द्वार का निरीक्षण कर आवश्यक निर्देश दिया।
मौके पर डीआरएम के साथ सीनियर डीसीएम अंशू पांडेय, डीसीएम बीबीगुप्ता, मनोज कुमार, चंद्रिका प्रसाद, जितेन्द्र सिंह, बीके ठाकुर, जीवछ मेहता, पवन यादव सहित कई पदाधिकारी मौजूद थे।

New Delhi: The government is working to expand rail, road and air connectivity to North Eastern region and projects for 14 new rail lines, four gauge conversions and two doubling projects have been taken up, Rajya Sabha was informed on Thursday.In a written reply, Minister for Development of North Eastern Region Paban Singh Ghatowar said 367.17 km of new rail lines has been completed in North Eastern Region and gauge conversion of 1580.83 km has been done since 2002-03."Special programmes taken up for development of raods in North East include East-West Corridor (670 km) and special accelerated road development programme/Phase A (4099 km)," he said.On air connectivity, he said average number of departures per week from North Eastern Airports has increased from 226 in 201 to 581 in 2011.However, time overruns have occurred in a number of national projects of Railways in the region, he said.

A team of officials of the Northern Frontier Railway were blocked from conducting re-survey for the land to be affected in the construction of Jiribam-Tupul railway line by the villagers of Khumji village in interior Tamenglong district.

A delay report reaching here, Thursday said that the officials of the NF Railways had gone to the Khumji part-II for conducting the re-survey on August 24 last.  However, they came back without conducting the survey work after a strong resistance from the villagers.

The villagers pressed the survey team to show them the exact amount of fund sanctioned by the Central government for paying compensations for the land to be affected by the railway line construction, besides demanding payment of the compensation as per first survey report conducted in 2009-10.

The villagers even threatened the survey team of dire consequences if the re-survey work is carried out against the wishes of the people. 

As the situation turned tense, the survey team returned from the village without carrying out the survey work, a police source said as per a complaint lodged by the officials of NF Railways included in the survey team.

A case has been registered at Nungba police station of Tamenglong district based the complaint lodged by the officials, the source added.

धनबाद रेल मंडल के तहत सर्वाधिक राजस्व देने में दूसरे नंबर का स्टेशन डालटनगंज में गुरुवार को रेल महाप्रबंधक मधुरेश कुमार नहीं उतरे। इससे पलामू के लोगों में निराशा देखी गई। मालूम हो कि गत बुधवार को रेल महाप्रबंधक कार्यालय से पलामू चेंबर व अन्य संगठनों के साथ एक बैठक निर्धारित थी। इसमें स्थानीय स्तर पर रेल अधिकारियों ने चेंबर व अन्य संगठनों को महाप्रबंधक के साथ वार्ता का न्योता दिया गया था। गुरुवार को काफी देर से इंतजार कर रहे लोगों को उस वक्त काफी निराशा हुई, जब पता चला कि महाप्रबंधक का विशेष ट्रेन यहां नहीं रुकेगी। फिर किसी तरह दो मिनट का ठहराव का वक्त दिया गया। बावजूद इसके ट्रेन के रुकने के बाद महाप्रबंधक अपने डिब्बे से नहीं उतरे। उन्होंने बॉगी के दरवाजे पर डीआरएम सुधीर कुमार को भेजा। डीआरएम ने ही संगठनों का ज्ञापन स्वीकार किया। पलामू चेंबर आफ कामर्स ने छह सूत्री मांग पत्र उन्हें सौंपा। इसमें जोनल व मंडल स्तर के कमेटी में सदस्य नामित करने, रेल कर्मचारियों व यात्रियों की सुरक्षा, महाबोधि एक्सप्रेस में बरवाडीह से लिंक देने, शक्तिपुंज एक्सप्रेस को बढ़ाकर मुंबई तक करने व विभिन्न ट्रेनों में पैंट्री कार जोड़ने की मांग की गई है। प्रतिनिधिमंडल में राजदेव उपाध्याय, अरूण कुमार अग्रवाल, निलेश चंद्रा व उदय शंकर दुबे शामिल थे।
पलामू वनोपज लघु उद्योग संघ गुरूवार को रेल महाप्रबंधक मधुरेश कुमार का बुके देकर स्वागत किया। साथ ही क्षेत्र में रेल सुविधा में बढ़ोतरी की मांग की गई है। मौके पर संघ के अध्यक्ष ज्ञानचंद पांडेय, सचिव इंद्रजीत सिंह डिंपल, कोषाध्यक्ष महावीर प्रसाद, बी दास, एसएस होरो, पंकज कुमार, संजय कुमार, पंकज तिवारी व बालमुकुंद तिवारी उपस्थित थे। वहीं ईसीकेआरयू के जोनल कार्यकारी अध्यक्ष संतोष कुमार तिवारी, शाखा सचिव बासुदेव प्रधान सहित अन्य पदाधिकारियों ने रेल महाप्रबंधक को मांगों से संबंधित ज्ञापन सौंपा। मौके पर यातायात निरीक्षक एके सिन्हा, स्टेशन प्रबंधक जीपी हांसदा, एसपी पांडेय, आरपीएफ इंस्पेक्टर पंकज प्रकाश, अनिल कुमार तिवारी सहित कई रेल कर्मी मौजूद थे।
रेल उपभोक्ता संघर्ष समिति के अध्यक्ष राजकुमार सिंह ने डीआरएम को 21 सूत्री मांग पत्र सौंपा।

NASHIK: The Ghoti police in Nashik rural have registered a case against unidentified persons for attempting to sabotage the Amritsar-LokmanyaTilak Terminus (Kurla) Pathankot Express, near Ghoti, around 30 km from here."A concrete sleeper weighing 285 kg was put on the railway track (towards Mumbai) which obstructed the train, besides endangering the lives of the passengers. The railway officials have lodged a case of attempt to sabotage against unidentified persons with the Ghoti police under sections of the Indian Railways Act 1989 and 2003," officials of the Ghoti police station said.Pathankot Express (11058 UP), heading towards Mumbai, had passed Padali (nearly 22 km from Nashik) when the driver of the train noticed some object on the tracks. He slowed down the train but still the train hit the object. The sleeper hit the train engine and was dragged to a distance of around 20 metres. The driver halted the train at Ghoti station and informed the officials about the issue.

"We alerted the driver of the Kushinagar Express that was following Pathankot Express. The train's driver reported that the broken sleeper had fallen near the track at 152/18 km, after which, the railway engineers and the police rushed to the spot for inspection," the railway officials said.Since the site of the crime was outside the railway station, it falls under the jurisdiction of the state police which have the powers to enforce various sections of the Indian Railways Act, including 150 and 152 -attempt to sabotage and endangering the lives of passengers, respectively. "The case has been filed and the state police are looking into the matter," inspector B D Ipper of the railway police force said.

Officials pointed out that it is very difficult, even for a team of five people, to lift the 285-kg sleeper, adding that a major mishap was averted as the speed of the train was considerably reduced, and also because the sleeper broke and fell away from the track and not inside, which could have damaged the engine.

Southern Railway will run Vasco-da-Gama-Velankanni special trains during the Velankanni festival.

Train No.07315 Vasco-da-Gama – Velankanni special will leave Vasco-da-Gama at 2.10 p.m. on September 6 and reach Velankanni at 7.15 p.m. the next day. Train No.07316 Velankanni – Vasco-da-Gama special will leave Velankanni at 6.30 p.m. on September 8 and reach Vasco-da-Gama at 3.15 a.m. on September 10. — Special Correspondent

BATHINDA: The name of the Goniana railway station has been changed to Goniana Bhai Jagta railway station. Bhai Kanhaiya Sewa Mission, which took up the issue with the state government and the Indian Railways, thanked cabinet ministers Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa and Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal.
