गलत पता भरा तो कैंसिल हो जाएगा रेल रिजर्वेशन
भोपाल. रेल रिजर्वेशन करवाते वक्त यदि अब आप फॉर्म में गलत पता भरते हैं तो टिकट कैंसिल हो जाएगा। इसके लिए रेलवे बोर्ड ने कमर्शियल विभाग को निर्देश जारी कर दिए हैं। सभी जोन को भेजे गए निर्देश में कहा गया है कि यदि यात्री इस कैंसिल टिकट पर यात्रा करते मिलता है तो उससे जुर्माना भी वसूला जाए।

रेलवे के मुख्य जनसंपर्क अधिकारी पीयूष माथुर का कहना है कि इस व्यवस्था के लिए कुछ कर्मचारियों की अलग से रिजर्वेशन ऑफिस में ड्यूटी लगाई जाएगी। वे रिजर्वेशन फॉर्म पर लिखे गए फोन या मोबाइल फोन नंबरों पर अचानक बात कर पता वेरिफाई करेंगे। यदि संबंधित यात्री या उनके परिजन आदि फोन रिसीव न करें या फिर रिजर्वेशन संबंधी जानकारी नहीं दे पाते हैं तो टिकट कैंसिल कर दिया जाएगा। रेलवे ने यह व्यवस्था फॉर्म पर गलत पता व फोन नंबर भरने के कारण दुर्घटना जैसी स्थिति में परेशानी से बचने के लिए की है।

कई यात्री रिजर्वेशन करवाते वक्त गलत पता व फोन नंबर फॉर्म में भर देते हैं। इससे दुर्घटना या विपरीत परिस्थितियों में यात्रियों का पता लगाने में रेलवे को मुश्किल का सामना करना पड़ता है।

दोगुना देना होगा किराया

रेलवे के मुताबिक यदि पता गलत मिला तो यात्री का रिजर्व टिकट कैंसिल माना जाएगा। इसके बाद  भी यदि वह कंफर्म रिजर्वेशन टिकट पर यात्रा करता है तो उससे गंतव्य स्टेशन तक का किराया मय जुर्माने के वसूला जाएगा।

SPECIAL TRAINS BETWEEN VASCO-DA-GAMA – VELANKANNI, SPECIAL TRAINS BETWEEN KACHEGUDA – MANGALORE CENTRAL

PUNE: Railway commuters’ groups in the city are rattled by the lack of security on the premises of the Pune railway station after the Central Railway (Pune Division) authorities found at least 20 empty purses and clothes kept in the false ceiling space on the Platform Number 1.

According to them, more dangerous material can be stored here without drawing much attention. They sought better security measures to prevent illegal entry on the premises.

Some panels of the false ceiling were dangling on Tuesday evening and the authorities were looking for reasons. They found that the metal grid supporting the panels had been stolen. This led to the dislocation of the panels, railway authorities said.

“We cannot see any other technical fault in the false ceiling. The panels must have got dislodged after the rods and screws were removed by thieves and sold,” a railway administration official said.

Harsha Shah of Railway Pravasi Group said the railway administration must step up security on the platforms and especially at the exit and entry gates to curb instances of theft. “Unauthorized points used to gain enter on the station’s premises must be closed. More than 150 trains are operated every day from the station and passengers should feel safe. There should be timely checks of passenger amenities,” she added.

The dislodged panels were located near the foot overbridge. Thieves would have crawled into the space from the gap near the escalator that opens to the foot overbridge and dumped the empty purses and clothes, the official said.

The false ceiling was fixed for beautification of the railway station. It has been removed now as a precautionary measure. Other places on the premises with false ceilings are being checked. The station has many unwanted elements involved in thefts and illegal activities, railway authorities said. They use the facilities on the platforms and in the circulating areas and come back even though the administration frequently drives them away.

Abhay Parmar of the Government Railway Police (GRP) said they have been asked to act against people creating a nuisance on the premises. Special attention is being given to spots that allow illegal entry to the station.

Dinu Joshi, a regular traveller, said, “Getting into the station’s premises is easy. Presence of thieves and ticketless travelers can be restricted if the administration and police maintain continuous vigil on the premises. Many beggars are in the circulating area of the station.”

Ramesh Rahane, who travels by the Lonavla-bound local train, said all platforms need security. Police presence is sparse and should be increased during rush hours, he added.

കേരളം ആസ്ഥാനമായി പുതിയ റെയില്‍വേസോണ്‍ രൂപവത്കരിക്കേണ്ടതില്ലെന്ന് റെയില്‍വേമന്ത്രാലയത്തിന്റെ ഉന്നതസമിതി ശുപാര്‍ശചെയ്തു. പാലക്കാട് റെയില്‍വേ ഡിവിഷന്‍ വീണ്ടും വിഭജിച്ച് മംഗലാപുരത്ത് പുതിയഡിവിഷന്‍ ഉണ്ടാക്കണമെന്ന ആവശ്യവും സമിതി തള്ളി.

ഗുല്‍ബര്‍ഗയിലും പുതിയ ഡിവിഷനുണ്ടാവില്ല. സാമ്പത്തികപ്രതിസന്ധി കണക്കിലെടുത്ത് രാജ്യത്തൊരിടത്തും പുതിയസോണുകളും ഡിവിഷനുകളും രൂപവത്കരിക്കേണ്ടെന്നാണ് സമിതിയുടെ ശുപാര്‍ശ. ഈ ശുപാര്‍ശ അതേപടി അംഗീകരിക്കാനാണ് സാധ്യതയെന്ന് മന്ത്രാലയവൃത്തങ്ങള്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.

ഇപ്പോള്‍ റെയില്‍വേക്ക് 17 സോണുകളും 68 ഡിവിഷനുകളുമാണുള്ളത്. ഇതോടെ വീണ്ടുംസോണുകളും ഡിവിഷനുകളും കൂട്ടിച്ചേര്‍ക്കുന്നത് പ്രത്യേകിച്ച് ഒരുപ്രയോജനവും ചെയ്യില്ലെന്നും കൂടുതല്‍ സാമ്പത്തികബാധ്യത വരുത്തിവെക്കുമെന്നും സമിതി ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടി.

പുതിയസോണുകള്‍ക്കും ഡിവിഷനുകള്‍ക്കുമുള്ള ആവശ്യം ശക്തമായതിനെത്തുടര്‍ന്ന് കഴിഞ്ഞകൊല്ലമാണ് റെയില്‍വേ മന്ത്രാലയം ഉന്നതസമിതി രൂപവത്കരിച്ചത്. 32 സോണുകളും 42 ഡിവിഷനുകളും ഉണ്ടാക്കാനുള്ള നിര്‍ദേശങ്ങള്‍ സമിതി വിശദമായിപരിശോധിച്ചു. കേരളം ആസ്ഥാനമായി പ്രത്യേകസോണ്‍, മംഗലാപുരം, ഗുല്‍ബര്‍ഗ എന്നിവിടങ്ങള്‍ ആസ്ഥാനമായി ഡിവിഷനുകള്‍ എന്നീനിര്‍ദേശങ്ങള്‍ ഇവയില്‍ പ്രധാനമായിരുന്നു. പാലക്കാട്ടുനിന്ന് മംഗലാപുരം മഖല അടര്‍ത്തിമാറ്റി ഹുബ്ലിയോടുചേര്‍ത്ത് പുതിയഡിവിഷന്‍ എന്നതായിരുന്നു കര്‍ണാടകത്തില്‍ നിന്നുയര്‍ന്ന ആവശ്യം. ഇതോടൊപ്പം സെക്കന്തരാബാദില്‍നിന്ന് ഗുല്‍ബര്‍ഗയെവേര്‍പെടുത്തണമെന്നും നിര്‍ദേശമുണ്ടായി.

നേരത്തേ പാലക്കാട്ഡിവിഷന്‍ വിഭജിച്ച് സേലത്തോടുചേര്‍ത്തത് ഏറെ പ്രതിഷേധമുണ്ടാക്കിയിരുന്നു. വീണ്ടും പാലക്കാട്ഡിവിഷന്‍ വിഭജിച്ച് മംഗലാപുരം ആസ്ഥാനമായി പുതിയഡിവിഷന്‍ ഉണ്ടാക്കാനുള്ളനീക്കം അടുത്തിടെ സജീവമായി. ഇതേത്തുടര്‍ന്ന് കേരള എം.പി.മാര്‍ റെയില്‍വേ മന്ത്രിക്ക് നിവേദനംനല്‍കിയിരുന്നു. സംസ്ഥാനം ഏറെക്കാലമായി ആവശ്യപ്പെടുന്ന പ്രത്യേകസോണ്‍ അനുവദിക്കണമെന്നും അതില്ലാതെ പാലക്കാട് ഡിവിഷന്‍ വിഭജിക്കാന്‍ അനുവദിക്കില്ലെന്നും എം.പി.മാര്‍ വ്യക്തമാക്കി.

തിരുവനന്തപുരം, പാലക്കാട്, കൊങ്കണിന്റെഭാഗങ്ങള്‍ തുടങ്ങിയവചേര്‍ത്ത് പശ്ചിമമേഖലയുടെ വികസനത്തിനായി പ്രത്യേകസോണ്‍ രൂപവത്ക്കരിക്കണമെന്നായിരുന്നു കേരളത്തിന്റെ ആവശ്യം. സംസ്ഥാനത്തിന്റെ റെയില്‍വേവികസനം ത്വരപ്പെടുത്താന്‍ പ്രത്യേകസോണ്‍ വേണമെന്നആവശ്യം ഉയര്‍ന്നിട്ട് വര്‍ഷങ്ങളായി.

No. 06572 Bidar - Yesvantpur Express (Tri-Weekly) at 11:00 hrs o­n 1st September, 2013 at a function to be held at Bidar Railway Station.    Shri  N. Daram Singh, Hon’ble Ex. Chief Minister of Karnataka & Member of Parliament (Bidar),  public representatives, dignitaries and senior Railway officials will be present o­n the occasion. The regular run of Tr. No.16572 Bidar-Yesvantpur Tri-weekly Express will commence from 04thSeptember, 2013 and Train No.16571 Yesvantpur-Bidar Tri-weekly Express will commence from 3rd September, 2013.On its regular run, Train No.16572 Bidar-Yesvantpur Tri-weekly Express will depart Bidar at 18:25 hrs o­n  Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and arrive Yesvanatpur  at 07:40 hrs o­n the next day. A jumbo block will be taken from 00.50 hrs to 04.50 hrs in the night o­n Sunday, 1/09/2013 o­n Up and Dn Local (i.e. slow) lines between Borivali and Bhyandar for maintenance of track, signalling and overhead equipments.During the block, all Up and Dn trains will be run o­n Through (i.e. fast) lines from Virar/Vasai Road to Borivali in up direction and Goregaon to Vasai Road/Virar in down direction. Detailed information to this effect is available with concerned Station Masters. Passengers are requested to take note of the above arrangements.

The latest to go is acting Chairman Arunendra Kumar

A peculiar situation has arisen at Rail Bhawan, albeit after a lull of one month, once again. All nine top contenders have been eliminated from the race for Chairman of the Railway Board for one reason or the other in just four months. The post fell vacant after the retirement of Mr. Vinay Mittal on June 30. Member (Mechanical) Arunendra Kumar has been given additional charge of Chairman for three months, whose name the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) has not recommended for regularisation, even as the Rail Bhawan corridors were abuzz with the doings and undoings in the higher echelons of the Railway Ministry after North Frontier Railway General Manager R.S. Virdi was eased out of the race.

Highly placed sources said the CVC had recommended the names of only Kolkata Metro General Manager Radhey Shyam, who is also in charge of South Eastern Railway, and South Central Railway General Manager A.K. Mittal for the top post. The CVC recommended a CBI probe against the acting Chairman.

Mr. A.K. Mittal, however, faces a problem: the outgoing Chairman, Vinay Mittal, issued a confidential letter, in which he said his performance was not up to the mark.

The first to get eliminated was the Member (Staff), Mahesh Kumar, after his arrest in a bribery scam. The Member (Electrical), Kul Bhushan, the senior-most member of the Board, was named in a preliminary inquiry by the CBI.

Northern Railway General Manager V.K. Gupta, too, is no more in the reckoning as his name figures in the conversations taped by the CBI in the bribery case. He is facing other charges also.

Three others do not fulfil the criteria prescribed for the post completion of one year as zonal general manager and two years of residual service. As a matter of fact, Mr.Virdi was on the top of the list, fulfilling these criteria, but his prospects were affected by minor penalties recommended against him by the CVC in a 10-year-old case, though the watchdog cleared his name for promotion as Member (Electrical) in February.

The CVC’s action has surprised most officers, with Federation of Railway Officers Association secretary-general Shubhranshu writing to Railway Minister Mallikarjun Kharge and the CVC, urging that the decision be reconsidered because it would affect the performance of the Railways.

Mr.Virdi has formally protested the CVC’s recommendation, writing a letter to Mr. Kharge, in which he said: “The timing of the case is clearly designed to stall my chances.” Mr.Virdi has charged the acting Chairman with “machination” to reopen the case with the sole objective of preventing him from becoming Chairman. He pointed out that the case, pertaining to the trial of perfume dispensers and a disinfectant dispenser, was closed by the CBI, and the CVC suggested systemic improvements. He asserted that his name had never figured in the probe. Sources said Mr Virdi met the Union railways minister Mallikarjuna Kharge on Friday to apprise him of the motivated campaign against him to dug out a case in which he was given a clean chit earlier. However, Mr Kharge, sources said, declined to intervene in the matter and has reportedly told Mr Virdi that he would go by the opinion of the interim CRB Arunendra Kumar. A section of officials in the railways are up in arms against the decision of the minister to side with the interim CRB, claiming that “there is a vested interest on the part of Mr Kumar to keep Mr Virdi out of the race”. But the move of the CVC to recommend a chargesheet has made a section of officials livid. “It’s violative of para 4.4 (g) of the CVC’s vigilance manual under which the public servant concerned is given an opportunity to clarify on allegations against him. The railways has so far not given any opportunity to him,” said a senior official.

In his letter to the Railway Minister on Thursday, Mr. Shubhranshu maintained that victimisation of this nature would affect induction of technology in the Railways.

Mr. Shubhranshu, who has sent copies of the letter to both the CBI and the CVC, maintained that the CVC’s action violated the rules as it had not sought any explanation from Mr. Virdi and two retired members, who too had been proceeded against. He warned that such an action would result in witch-hunt.

The CVC has directed the Railways to find means of acting against two retired members — P.N. Garg and S. Dhasarathy — knowing well that rules did not permit action against those who had been in retirement for more than four years. Officers alleged that the attempt was to sully their names in a bid to get at Mr. Virdi. They maintained that Mr. Garg was so shocked by the news that he suffered brain haemorrhage and was in a critical condition.

We always expect to see it in a movie or a comedy show – an unsuspecting obnoxious man mistreating an employee learned in the ways of martial arts who then is left with no choice but to unleash a sublime takedown to humiliate the said troublemaker. But this is where art copies real life, where a Keikyu Line railway employee in Yokohama handed out a sublime judo move to a troublemaking passenger earlier this week. The passenger allegedly punched the female railway employee at Yokohama Station, and so the employee flipped him over with a perfectly executed judo throw, this reported by the Kanagawa Prefectural Police.The violent commuter was Hiroshi Ebina, 34, an unemployed Yokohama man, who reportedly hit the 21-year-old female railway employee in the face multiple times. The incident happened around 11 p.m. on Monday when the train attendant tried to stop Ebina at the ticket gate as he tried to transfer from an East Japan Railway train to the Keikyu Line without paying the full fare from Nakano to Yokohama. Unfortunately for the unsuspecting Ebina, the train attendant has a black belt in judo, and purposefully flipped him over her shoulders and pinned him as other staff rushed on to the scene to help her. The female train attendant said later that she had learned the judo flip move in high school.

Ebina was arrested on the spot, but denied punching the attendant. “I only knocked off her cap,” he said. The police had investigated the incident and found out that Ebina boarded the JR Sobu Line at Higashi-Nakano Station in Nakano Ward, Tokyo, with a ¥160 (approx. $1.60) ticket. He knew his fare was short but he still attempted to switch to the Keikyu Line at Yokohama Station where the judo flipping happened. Aside from the obvious lesson of not underestimating anyone just because he or she works as a train station attendant, we think that the better summation of this story would be for people to get a job so that they can afford train fares. As Ebina was unemployed, he felt he could get away with not paying the full fare, and he got a real smackdown for his troubles. So we say – go get a job.
