1)Hatia – Yesvantpur - Hatia Weekly Express Special Trains (16 Trips):-

Train No. 08637 Hatia - Yesvantapur Weekly Express Special Train will depart Hatia at 18 15 hrs o­n 7th, 14th, 21st & 28th September and          5th, 12th, 19th & 26th October, 2013 (Saturdays)and arrive Yesvantapur at  05 00 hrs o­n Mondays.

In the return direction, Train No. 08638 Yesvantapur - Hatia Weekly Express Special Train will depart Yesvantapur at 00 30 hrs o­n 10th, 17th & 24thSeptember and 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd & 29th October, 2013 (Tuesdays), and arrive Hatia at 13 30 hrs o­n Wednesdays.

Enroute, these special trains will stop at Rourkela, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh Road, Balangir, Titlagarh, Kesinga, Muniguda, Rayagada, Parvatipuram, Bobilli, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Duvvada, Samalkot, Rajahamundry, Vijayawada, Nellore, Gudur, Renigunta, Tirupati, Pakala, Chittor , Katpadi, Jolarpettai and Krishnarajapuram stations in both the directions. These trains will have 15 coaches Viz., o­ne AC II Tier, two AC III Tier, seven Sleeper Class, three General Second Class and two Second Class Luggage Cum Brake Van Coaches.

2)Visakhapatnam - Kollam Bi-Weekly Express Special Trains (14 Trips):-

Train No. 08569 Visakhapatnam - Kollam Bi-Weekly Express special train will depart Visakhapatnam at 09 00 hrs o­n 8th, 12th, 15th, 19th, 22nd, 26th and 29th (Sundays & Thursdays) September, 2013 and arrive Kollam at 14 10 hrs o­n the next day i.e., Mondays & Fridays.

In the return direction, Train No. 08570 Kollam - Visakhapatnam Bi-Weekly Express special train will depart Kollam at 21 00 hrs o­n 9th, 13th, 16th, 20th, 23rd, 27th & 30th September, 2013 (Mondays & Fridays) and arrive Visakhapatnam at 01 35 hrs o­n the second day i.e., Wednesdays & Sundays.

Enroute, these trains will stop at Duvvada, Yellamanchili, Samalkot, Rajahmundry, Eluru, Vijayawada, Tenali, Bapatla, o­ngole, Nellore, Gudur, Renigunta, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Tiruput, Coimbatore, Palghat, Trichur, Ernakulam Town and Kottayam.

These special trains will have o­ne AC II Tier, o­ne AC III Tier, seven Sleeper Class, six General Second class and two Second Class Luggage Cum Brake Van coaches totalling to Seventeen coaches.

      To clear extra rush of Durga Puja & Deepawali, Railway has decided to run festival special Train No. 08034/08033 Anand Vihar T.- Santragachi- Anand Vihar T. (Weekly) Express as per the following schedule:

The 08033 Santragachi- Anand Vihar T. (Weekly) Express train will depart from Santragachi from 07.10.2013 to 25.11.2013 (8 trips) o­n every Monday at 08.45 a.m. to reach Anand Vihar T. at 11.50 noon the next day. In the return direction, the 08034 Anand Vihar T.- Santragachi (Weekly)  Express train will depart from Anand Vihar T. from 08.10.2013 to 26.11.2013 (8 trips) o­n every Tuesday at 01.30 p.m. to reach Santragachi at 07.30 p.m. the next day.

Comprising of o­ne A.C. 2 Tier, o­ne A.C. 3 Tier, Eight Sleeper Class, Five General Class & Two Second Class cum luggage van  coaches, the 08034/08033 Anand Vihar T.- Santragachi- Anand Vihar T. Jammu : Three supporters of self-styled godman and rape accused Asaram were detained by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) after they disrupted rail traffic near Balol Nallah on Jammu-Pathankote railway route here this morning.Sources said around 100 supporters and followers of the accused, including women, had blocked the railway track at Balol Nallah in Bari Brahmana.They also raised slogans against the Congress-led UPA government for allegedly framing the accused godman Asaram under a conspiracy.The protestors carried placards and had a minor scuffle with the police when the latter tried to stop them from moving on the railway track.“They assembled near Balol Nallah at 7.45 am and had a minor scuffle with the police after they were stopped. The rail traffic remained disrupted for half-an-hour. The trains affected due to the disruption were Ahmedabad Express from Jammu and Jammu-bound Sealdah Express,” a police officer said.The official also claimed that some supporters and followers, who had boarded the Ahmedabad Express from Jammu, also joined the protestors raising anti-government slogans.After a brief disruption where two trains were delayed, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) swung into action and dispersed the protestors.Meanwhile, many Asaram's supporters continued their hunger strike at Bhagwati Nagar ashram here.They accused the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government of implicating the “spiritual guru” in "false case" under a "well-planned conspiracy". They demanded the "spiritual guru" should be immediately released.Sources said that hundreds of supporters and followers of Asaram had already left for Jodhpur to hold protest against the government.

CHENNAI: Pattaravakkam railway station near Ambattur on the Chennai Central-Tiruvallur section last week.Police are looking for a cattle owner after a group of seven buffaloes crossing the railway tracks was allegedly struck by a train at Pattaravakkam railway station near Ambattur on the Chennai Central-Tiruvallur section last week.

Dawn Williams, general manager of Blue Cross of India (Chennai), said the accident occurred at 11am on August 24. "Four buffaloes were killed. One was mowed down, three were thrown into an adjoining drain and drowned. One escaped unhurt," he said. Two injured buffaloes were slaughtered by butchers before they could be rescued, Blue Cross volunteers said.

Williams said any animal injured on a railway track is the property of railways and cannot be slaughtered.

The FIR registered by the Perambur Government Railway Police, based on a complaint lodged by Blue Cross volunteers, mentions that a Tata Ace (registration number TN09BR3042) was used to carry away the meat and that the waste lay strewn all over the tracks. The train driver did not inform the authorities at the next station about the accident, the complaint said. Three buffalo carcasses were found in the drain on railway premises.

Chennai Corporation employee Sughinya, who along with two others removed the dead buffaloes from the drain, said an earthmover was used for the task. "The councillor of the area asked us to clear the drain as the animals had begun rotting," he said. However, he did not confirm the details of the accident.

A Palaniappan, sub-inspector, GRP, Perambur, expressed doubts over the Blue Cross version. "It is possible that the herd was crossing the tracks and would have jumped in the drain on seeing the approaching train. If the train ran over a buffalo, the body would have got entangled in the train's wheels. We are trying to find out if the train actually hit the animals," he said.

He said a case was registered under IPC Section 289 (negligent conduct with respect to animals) and that they were trying to trace the cattle owner.

NEW DELHI: Gyanodaya Express chugged out of Safdarjung railway station on Monday, carrying 900 students on the third such educational trip organized by the Delhi University. This time, it's heading to Punjab. This is the first time, 150 students from Edinburgh and London will be on what DU authorities call the "College on Wheels."

Flagged off by the MoS railways, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, the trip will last till September 8. But it's the 'code of conduct' students are expected to adhere to for the duration of the trip that has drawn the most attention. "Students are to strictly adhere to the dress code i.e. girls are not to wear skirts, shorts or spaghetti (sic) and boys are also not to wear shorts and sleeveless T-shirts," it says.

NEW DELHI: After a long delay, the railways has finally fast-tracked the process for setting up an electric locomotive plant at Madhepura in Bihar.
The state-run transporter has received bids from six global infrastructure firms -- Siemens, Alstom, Bombardier, GE, CSR Corporationand CNR Corporation from China -- for the Rs 1,293 crore project. The factory will manufacture around 800 electric engines of 12,000 horsepower (HP) over 10 years.
An official said the railways is expected to announce the names of shortlisted companies for the project within a fortnight.
The fresh request for qualification (RFQ) for the projects was issued in May after it was cleared by the Cabinet. Officials are expecting that the projects will be awarded by January, the deadline set by the PMO.
The project, part of the prime minister's ambitious Rs 1 lakh crore investment target in the current fiscal, is being monitored by the top UPA leadership.
Fast-tracking the project is seen as a desperate move by the cash-strapped railways to send a positive signal to private investors and an attempt at image correction after bad publicity in the "cash-for-promotion" scam.
The project was announced in 2006-07 during the tenure of Lalu Prasadas railway minister along with the proposal to set up a Rs 1,300 crore diesel locomotive factory at Marhowra. The projects were to be set up in partnership with private players, with the railways holding 26% stake in each.
The projects failed to take off as allegations of favouritism towards certain private players cropped up. Other contentious issues between railways and private players were technology transfer, assured buying of locomotives and duration of maintenance of locos by the companies.

JAIPUR: To provide seamless connectivity between the Metro and Jaipur's railway station, the Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC) plans to construct a skywalk.

The proposed walkway will give direct access to Metro commuters to the city's rail platforms. According to the officials, after several discussions, the North Western Railway (NWR) has given nod to the proposal.

JMRC chairman and managing director N C Goel said, "NWR will construct the walkway and the cost will be provided by JMRC. The project has been planned as multi-model transport according to the need of the hour. It would save lots of parking space and passenger time."

He further added, "The proposal will now be examined to seek additional financial assistance from the state government."

राजधानी की जीवनरेखा बनी दिल्ली मेट्रो के साथ ही उसकी सुरक्षा के लिए स्टेशनों पर तैनात केंद्रीय औद्योगिक सुरक्षा बल (सीआईएसएफ) के जवानों की कार्यशैली भी लोगों को भाने लगी है। गत दिनों मेट्रो रेल की ओर से कराए गए सर्वेक्षण में मेट्रो के 97 फीसद यात्रियों ने सुरक्षा व संरक्षा के स्तर पर जवानों के कार्य को संतोषजनक बताया। हालांकि दो फीसद यात्रियों ने इसमें और सुधार की जरूरत पर जोर दिया। इस बारे में दिल्ली मेट्रो की ओर से 3 जुलाई से 21 जुलाई के बीच मेट्रो स्टेशन पर यात्री प्रतिक्रिया सर्वेक्षण करवाया गया था।
इसमें सीआईएसएफ कर्मियों की ओर से प्रदान की गई सुरक्षा का स्तर,उनका व्यवहार व कर्मियों की ओर से तलाशी की समयावधि का मूल्यांकन शामिल था। इसमें 11 सौ यात्रियों की प्रतिक्रिया ली गई थी। सीआईएसएफ प्रवक्ता हेमेंद्र सिंह ने बताया कि दिल्ली मेट्रो में सुरक्षा व संरक्षण में 31 फीसद लोगों ने उत्कृष्ट, 41 फीसद ने बहुत अच्छा और 25 फीसद ने जवानों का कार्य संतोषजनक बताया। वहीं 93 फीसद यात्रियों ने कर्मियों के व्यवहार की सराहना की, जबकि 95 फीसद ने कर्मियों की सर्तकता को सराहा। यही नहीं 89 फीसद यात्रियों ने तलाशी में लगने वाले समय के लिए अपनी संतुष्टि जाहिर की। 10 फीसद लोगों ने तलाशी लेने में लगने वाले समय में और सुधार की इच्छा प्रकट की। 3.2 फीसद दिल्ली वालों ने तलाशी में और सुधार की जरूरत का सुझाव दिया।
