Udgir railway station is getting a face lift and adding various amenities over its premises dedicated to passengers. Udgir stations falls under Secunderabad division of South Central Railway.

On June 4, second high level platform has already been finished with an estimated cost of Rs. 94 lakh. The newly built platform is equipped with 15 water pedestals with vacuum-diverted flooring. Also cover-over platform and foot - over bridge has already been sanctioned for the station. 

“These works come under the augmentation of additional passenger amenities at Udgir station where three waiting halls are available at present,” said a railway official.

Udgir station is an important station in Vikarabad-Parli Vaijnath section and daily on an average 4150 people commute via this station. Railway earns 1.55 lakh rupees everyday from Udgir which has stoppage of 2 trains.

To prevent any kind of tempering in train signalling system 4 mobile teams has been formed by Pune division of Central Railway. Each team will have 5 members who will visit various stations and patrol along rail lines. Also these teams will conduct surprise checks in suburban and rural stations.

The decision has been taken by central railway to curb any instance of signal tampering as it happened past. Especially with onset of monsoon security along side tacks usually takes a hit allowing miscreants to take advantage.

According to rail official, "The teams will also conduct surprise checks to assess various arrangements — including security — at stations. Any issues will be brought to the notice of senior officials. Flooding is a common issue. Patrolmen and watchmen are being deployed at vulnerable locations."

Due to heavy rush, railway has extended service of superfast special train till June 21. The details and schedule of these special trains are given below -

Jabalpur - Santragachi Special

• Train number 02191 will run every Wednesday from Jabalpur till June 21.
• Jabalpur departure time - 20:55 in the night
• Bilaspur arrival - 04:30 next day morning
• Tatanagar arrival - 12:35
• Santragachi arrival - 16:30 in the afternoon

• Train number 02192 will run every Thursday from Santragachi till lJune 21.
• Santragachi departure time - 20:40 in the night
• Tatanagar arrival - 00:05 next day
• Bilaspur arrival - 07:35 in the morning
• Jabalpur arrival - 15:40 in the afternoon

• Sehora Road, Katni South, Umariya, Shahdol, Anuppur, Pendra Road, Bilaspur, Champa, Raigarh, Jharsugda, Rourkela, Chakrdharpur, Tatanagar and Khadagpur stations.

• General - 4 coaches
• SLeeper - 1 coaches
• AC three - 3 coaches
• AC 3 + 2 composite - 1 coaches

Railway is taking up maintenance work over Durg - Gondia - Kalmna section on June 15, 16, 22 and 23. This will affect following trains -

• Train number 18239 Gewra Road - Nagpur Shivnath Express to be regulated at Durg station for atleast 30 minutes.
• Train number 58111 Tatanagar - Itwari Passenger to be regulated at Durg station for 30 minutes atleast.
• Train number 68724 Gondia - Raipur MEMU passenger to be partially cancelled on Durg.
• Train number 68723 Dogargarh - Gondia MEMU passenger cancelled on June 15 and 22.
• Train number 58112 Itwari - Tatanagar passenger to depart late by 2 hours and 15 minutes on June 8.

For convenience of passengers, South Central Railway will be providing temporary augmentation of additional coaches in the following trains -

• Train number 12750 Bidar - Machilipatnam Express will run with 1 extra Sleeper coach from July 2 to August 1.
• Train number 12749 Machilipatnam – Bidar Express will run with 1 extra Sleeper coach from July 1 to July 31.
• Train number 12793 Tirupati - Nizamabad Rayalaseema Express will run with 1 extra AC three tier coach from June 11 to August 31.
• Train number 12794 Nizamabad – Tirupati Rayalaseema Express will run with 1 extra AC three tier coach from June 12 to September 1.

Northern Railway has restored train number 12419  Lucknow – New Delhi  Gomti  express  and 14212  New Delhi – Agra Cantt  Intercity express trains o­n their proper route from June 8.

Train number 12420  New Delhi - Lucknow  Gomti express and 14211 Agra Cantt - New Delhi  Intercity express trains shall be restored to run o­n their proper route from June 9.

Coimbatore - KSR Bengaluru Uday Express

• Train number 22666 will run 6 days a week from Coimbatore except Monday from June 9.

Rajen Gohain - Union Minister of State of Railways will flag off the inaugural Coimbatore – KSR Bengaluru UDAY special train from Coimbatore during a function to be held at 10.00 AM o­n June 8.

Coimbaore - KSR Bengaluru inaugural UDAY special train

Train number 02666 UDAY special train will depart from Coimbatore on June 8 at 10:30 AM and will arrive KSR Bengaluru at 05:20 PM the same day.

Stoppages between Coimbatore and KSR Bengaluru -

• Tiruppur, Erode, Salem, Kuppam and Krishnarajapuram.

Till date there is no direct train connectivity between Bhagalpur to Jaipur or Jodhpur. Residents or students usually took train from Patna or Kiul stations. Now Railway has decided that it will extend Brahmaputra Mail upto Jodhpur.

Brahmaputra Mail will depart for Delhi at 07:40 AM in the morning and will arrive Delhi at 06:05 AM. From Delhi this train will depart for Jodhpur at 07:05 AM and will arrive Jodhpur at 05:55 PM in the evening.

IN the return direction, this train will depart Jodhpur at 11:15 AM in the morning and will arrive Delhi at 10:10 PM in the night of same day. There is no change in timing of this train between Delhi and Bhagalpur.

From October this change might take place.
