The 68th Zonal Railway Users’ Consultative Committee (ZRUCC) Meeting was held under the chairmanship of Shri G. N. Asthana, General Manager, South Central Railway today (11.01.2013) at Railway Officers Club, Secunderabad. Principal Heads of Various departments of SCR were present. Thirty six ZRUCC Members including Shri Mohd. Ali Khan and Madhu Yashki, Hon’ble Members of Parliament, representing diverse interests such as Legislature, SCR Divisions, Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Agricultural Associations, Public Sector Units, Registered Passengers’ Association, Consumer Protection Associations, nominees of Union Ministers etc., participated in the discussions. The members were apprised of the performance of SCR and developmental works under progress through a power point presentation.In his presidential address, Shri Asthana said that South Central Railway Standsamong the best performing Zonal Railways of our country. After a remarkable performance last year, SCR’sperformance during the current financial year has also been promising, At Present, SCR carries around one million passengers per day andpoised to achieve the target of 111 million tonnes of freight loading during the current financial year. In the last Railway Budget, 16 originating trains and 10 passenger trains were announced, out of which 17 trains have already been introduced. In addition, SCR operates special trains regularly and presently a large number of Sabarimalai specials and Sankranthi specials are being run. Adarsh Station works at 31 stations have been completed and works are under progress at 19 more stations, he added. He assured the ZRUCC members that their suggestions and views expressed during the meeting will be given due consideration while formulating plans for improving amenities and services. | ||
