The district Congress committee has requested the Railway Ministry to operate daily passenger train services between Karur and Dindigul to cater to the demands of thousands of workers who are employed at factories in the towns from nearby areas.Thousands of daily wage earners from villages commute to hundreds of textile and allied industries in the two districts for work. Most of them are unskilled and had to spend a majority of their meagre income on transportation. Inadequate train services force them to rely on road connectivity at a high cost, it said. | ||
