At a time when having legitimate currency has become a luxury, number of passengers travelling without ticket are on rise. Sensing this railway has intensified ticket checking on many stations one of which is Bokaro Railway station where a team of 30 TTEs are catching atleast 50 people per day. After slapping a fine, TTEs are receiving 500 or 1000 rupee currency notes which they are accepting readily. Such drive are only adding to railway fund but Bokaro Railway station is witnessing a dip of 5000 to 4000 passengers on a daily basis. Till date an amount of 1.78lakh of rupees had already been collected from the drive that was conducted on many important trains such as - Vananchal Express, Purosottam Express, Baidyanath Dham Express, Maurya Express etc. Apart from the ticket, unbooked luggage are also under scanner. As many as 162 unbooked luggage were caught adding to fine of Rs. 8,850. |
