To beat the heat commuters on Andheri - Ghatkopar - Versova route are crowding on Metro station. With the onset of summer Metro with its fully AC coaches becomes one of the favourite transporting system. Over the weekend, Metro witnessed 20% more passengers compared to corresponding month last year. Besides this daily ridership of April registered a growth of nearly 4% commuters over March. According to railway, due to rise in temperature commuters are forced to take ride on metro. Last year also number of commuters increased partially. Commuter expectations increased with the introduction of Metro along the 12km corridor. Many bus commuters too are opting Metro to avoid sweltering heat. Commuters are also moving away from autorickshaws. | ||
