MUMBAI: A Cardio Vascular and Thoracic Surgery (CVTS) department for treatment of heart related ailments has been started at Western Railway's Jagjivan Ram Hospital (JRH), Mumbai Central. Sharat Chandrayan, Chief Public Relations Officer, WR said, "The state of art department with most advanced Digital Subraction Angiography cath lab in the country was started on August 22, 2012".The first two cases of Coronary angioplasty and Coronary angiography were done by renowned Dr. B.K. Goyal under the supervision of Dr. H.M. Jain, Chief Medical Director, JRH. He further said, " On the first day itself four cardiac interventions were successfully done at JRH and inhouse cardiologist of JRH, Dr. M.V. Reddy assisted the doctors during the procedures."This most advanced unit is aimed to provide best health facilities to the railway employees and their families. Chandrayan said, " Now the complicated cardiac and peripheral vascular interventions can be carried out at JRH itself and will mitigate the hardships of referral to other hospitals." |
